Amazing food with great service. The specials are great. The Guila eggs are a must try. The waffles are delectable. All in all, a great place to have a lazy breakfast and spend time.
I went in for a bacon and egg roll with a capuccino, and left feeling i just had a homemade breakfast. The whole place gives a feeling of home-like kitchen, the ingredients feel fresh and well prepared, and the coffee is good. The menu is confusing, but the staff can help you with it ;)
Love this place. I don't know how they can conquer such a wide and fantastic variety. But even the simplest dish is a winner because every single ingredient is hand picked for its taste and quality! Some of my favourites are lentil soup, Greek Salad (add lamb - it's amazing!), and French Toast... Not to mention the burger and hand-cut chips...!
Just had the Black Eyed Bean soup for lunch. Delish! The smashed avo and feta for breakie is also amazing and, while I'm no coffee snob, their's is some of the best I've had.
I love Sunday brunch. There is just something different about a brunch on Sunday; it’s informal, sacred, unfettered, real. It was real today. It was muggy in the packed-out corner cafe, that smells of sizzling bacon and big Saturday nights. Cafe Giulia on Abercrombie St in Chippendale, is great. It was introduced to me by dear friend Daryl, who lives round the corner from it. It is everything a buzzing neighbourhood cafe should be: the staff is friendly, the menu is huge and the vibe is just right.
Chippendale was my suburb for years and years. I moved out and overnight it turned cool. Go figure. Anyway back in those beknighted days, cafe giulia was the lone beacon of the cool to come. Pre-hipster bearded barista, middle eastern food on the menu, a grungy vibe. Plus ça change, plus ça reste la même.

Cafe Giulia is a great cafe in Chippendale which is always busy with people every morning, they have a great big blackboard of menu items full of yummy food consisting of burgers, rolls, brekky food, bagels, pasta, and dessert. It's a small cafe with a little outdoor section that is nice and cosy.. I quite like the side salad that comes out with most of the lunch dishes, it has a great mustard dressing which makes it delicious to eat. Juice is good here too!
Quick service, easy food, and reasonably priced. Their haloumi bagel is next level - especially on sourdough bread. Only downside is that there closed on Sundays when you most want to sit in their courtyard and smash out a hungover brekkie.
New favourite joint near UTS! Healthy and delicious breakfast and lunch options plus dessert, coffee, etc. Service is quick and friendly, does get packed during lunch.

Great service, great food and a nice atmosphere. Was greeted by a smiling lady behind the counter recommending dishes to try. She also asked if we would like to share if the portions were too big which was great. You know that they are genuine and just not try to sell as many covers as possible. We had the big breakkie, mushrooms and additional bacon. Loads to fill for two people but we ate it all. The highlight for me was the delicious Hollandaise sauce. Perfectly balanced. Not the best corn fritters though. Would be back here again for sure.
The Cafe Giulia burger is supposedly one of Sydney’s best 10 burgers. Take that whichever way you will, but it doesn’t detract from the fact that this is a damn good burger.
We have a rustic bun that is bereft of the seedy embellishments found on many other burgers. Fine by me – the less is detracted from the innards! Speaking of the innards…we have a full slice of half-melted cheddar which is cleverly stuck onto the bun’s top half (unfortunately not pictured – I had to take these snaps quick!), a thick slice of tomato (might be too thick for some), lettuce, beetroot (shredded – a nice touch) and topped with super crispy bacon and a fried egg. The meat patty itself is classic Australian beef. The fried

This is a good burger, but I can’t agree with the Sydney Magazine and put it at the top of my list. A better quality meat patty or the added bacon and egg (like the Sydney Mag review) would push this burger closer to the top. Having said that, at $10.90 it is good value compared to other burgers out there, and the addition of the bacon and egg will only set you back an extra $1.

Cafe Giulia, Abercrombie Street, Chippendale. Located in a former butchers' shop in a 100 year old building. Excellent coffee, pleasant if slightly trendy ambience, mis-shapen muffins, creative salads and omelettes, and olive green decor.

Oh Giulia, Giulia, wherefore art thou Giulia? Where hast thou been all my life? Sure I'd read about Cafe Giulia in various blogs and online reviews , its breakfast merits trumpeted with mirthful glee, but the legs have taken some time to catch up with the heart. Oh what fool am I. Panzanella salad $13.90 with grilled prawns, tomato, basil, parmesan and croutons We set off at a brisk pace down Abercrombie Street, almost walking past the place, a corner cafe in what was once an butchers shop, its business marked only by a small red name plate, hanging up high. It's all systems go inside, a chaotic blur of staff rushing past, customers queueing at the counter, a frenzy of chefs at the open kitchen, and an enormous blackboard that is dizzying with its relentless white scrawl of menu options. Everything is cooked to order, and it's both exciting and enticing to see, hear and smell the sizzle of bacon, the flipping of pancakes, the chopping of salads, the final flourish of dishes. The noise

This popular Chippendale entry attracts students, locals and workers from the trendy designer businesses located in the vicinity. The large blackboard menu is the only hint that all ordering is done at the counter. For breakfast I recommend the Tuscan Toast with Ricotta, Honey and Cinnamon ($9.90) and a Latte ($3.50) . I will warn though, the coffee here is variable - it's best when the handsome Ryan Jace is behind the machine - use this fact wisely, and don't be afraid to select an excellent Banana Smoothie ($5.90) instead. The fresh juices including my personal favourite, Pineapple, Apple, Ginger and Mint ($5.90) , make a nice accompaniment to lunch. My usual options include the Chicken Coriander Mayo with Fresh Lime and Chilli Casa Roll ($9.90) and the Lamb with Marinated Beetroot, Fetta, Roasted Peppers and Yoghurt Sauce Casa Roll ($9.90) . If it's cold and your thoughts turn to pasta, the Chicken, Mushroom, White Wine and Cream ($16.90) scrubs up best. Bear in mind, all the pastas
Fabulous food!. This hidden cafe offers wonderful food, drinks and coffee at reasonable prices. The service is good too, the atmosphere is also pleasant. I had the pasta bolognaise which was delicious. I highly recommend this place to all.
Utterly delicious soups. If you are a soup lover, come here. The other food is excellent too and there is a huge and diverse menu do your non soup loving friends will be happy too. Or so I am told. I can't remember having anything here but soup.
Ultimate breakfast Sydney. Great menu, service, food and generous portions. trendy and bustling too, love it every time.
Yeah the staff are pretty rude but the waffles are amazing!
Burger fans you're home. I can only comment on the burgers and chips as I haven't tried anything else. I was famished, and those burgers really hit the spot. The patty was fresh and oh so juicy, topped with cheese and mustard and lettuce of some sort. That does set you back around $10, which is sort of a shame as it does not include fries. So ordered a bowl of chips, which were actual potatoes with the skin still on, not the frozen stuff you get elsewhere, which was a nice touch, but I'm not sure I liked it. I still love good oily fries with a tonne of chicken salt.
Yummy food but definitely lacking some warm customer service
Breakfast. I love it here.. I have only gone for breakfast and recommend it. Also they have great orange juice
Great Space and Vibe. I like Cafe Giulia for the vibe and the space. It's just a local cafe - so I'm not really there expecting amazingly creative and innovative food. I love the gluten free cakes and the coffee is fine. The food is fresh and fast. The menu is HUGE!
Get the waffles!. Busy everytime we go but somehow manage to find a seat so it's never been an issue for us.
Menu is very big and everything we have tried has been amazing, especially the eggs with kofte. The waffles with rhubarb and marscarpone are also a must try!
Fun, relaxed, easy. Something about this place just works. You feel welcome and the atmosphere is joyous and relaxed. There is lots of choice on both food and drinks menu. The servings seem fairly generous. There was nothing particularly grand about the food or decor, yet we were plenty satisfied. I can see why it's so busy!
Such a wonderful cafe! Everything on the menu is delicious and super reasonably priced! I would recommend the haloumi bagel with mushroom and a homemade passionfruit soda :)
Yum. White bean and fennel soup, with crusty bread. Delicious! Great coffee.
Delicious food and really great staff. The haloumi bagel is a killer hangover cure. The fresh bagels with ricotta are pretty fab too. Probably the best value coffee in Sydney that's consistently good.

The staff are super friendly and helpful, water jugs out in the open for you to grab which I love, the food is amazing, though the coffee isn't great. I strongly recommend the French toast.
Hidden gem in Chippendale. I first met Giulia a few years back and meeting her again is like love at first sight. Giulia makes the most of simple, fresh ingredients in a bustling environment. Get in early for lunch because this place is usually packed. And the food is the reason why. I've had the delicious panzanella salad and the steak casa roll. There's also a melt in your mouth cake made up of layers of wafer, chocolate and caramel.
Great Brekky!. Just got back from a very yummy brekfast at Cafe Giulia. I had the bagel with avocado, mushrooms and haloumi, the mrs had bacon and eggs. My bagel was delish! really hit the spot. The Mrs serving of bacon and eggs was huge and thoroughly enjoyed. Atmosphere is great, albeit very noisy the place was packed and we were lucky to grab a place to sit. The staff were friendly and meals came out swiftly. Check this place out.
Hidden gem. If you drive down the busy Abercrombie St on a Saturday morning, it's easy to almost pass Cafe Giulia without noticing the busy hustle of waiters, food orders and diners inside. The smell of eggs and warm coffee is what lures you in if you're walking past. I ventured here on a Saturday morning, it was really busy and almost hard to find a place to sit. After ordering from the endless menu options, and even second guessing what I was to eat (too many great choices), I opted for the Smoked Salmon breakfast, with poached egg, hashbrown, spinach and a side of sourdough. The serving was enormous. I've never been to a cafe with such generous servings! I couldn't finish the breakfast of course, but all parts of the food was what you want in a brunch. Eggs were poached perfectly, hashbrowns were crisp on the outside and fluffy inside, the whole busy atmosphere also added to this really great way to start a Sat morning. I'll definitely be back to try other menu options.
I would give this cafe a 6.5/10
Beautiful coffee. Had a cup of cappuccino this morning and it was a such a great way to start the gloomy day. I can smell the cacao powder through the lid of the take away cup. It was very cold this morning so I also used it as my hands warmer :-) So by the time I get to my office, the coffee was not that hot anymore. Still, it was very nice. The cacao power, the roasted coffee and full cream milk work together perfectly!! Writing about it makes me want more~
Will definitely return!
Brillant selection of food, most locally sourced products. There is also a dinner available Friday and Saturday nights, check out their website for details www.cafegiulia.com
There have plenty of food menus it was hard to choose one!
Nice meal with affordable price, also all stuff were friendly so totally I love this cafe !
I would visit again soon :)
Still as delightful and delicious as ever... Been coming fot years and now whenever I visit Sydney I try to make it on for their sublime Smoked Salmon brekkie... Yum. Highly recommended
Feb 2022 update:
In Sydney for a few days and had to have my cafe Giulia fix. Had the usual and it did not disappoint. The smoked salmon brekky comes out looking like a magazine styled plate...visually a feast for the eyes, so clean and perfect on the plate. Taste wise I live the combination of flavours and textures. Great quality smoked salmon, perfectly poached eggs just how I like them, house made hash browns that are crisp in the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. With wilted spinach and the yummy dressing ... It's so fantastic to be able to come back and reliably have a dish I enjoy so much...I'll be back again and again lol
Cafe Giulia is a lovely little cafe situated right on the corner. It’s surprisingly big, usually quite busy and has a HUGE menu. I’ve gone solely for breakfast and coffee. Coffee is good, pretty standard and quite large portions! I’ve had the waffles and the pancakes. The waffles were delicious, with rhubarb and topped with a smooth and yummy mascarpone cream. They were quite crunchy so if you’re into a more Belgian style waffle they might not be for you. I also have had the pancakes here which were very yum- I went with the lemon & sugar pancakes (which I have never seen this combo before?) and it was really good! Definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area!
Staff is sooo kind, the food was really good and they got this app that you can order from your table and separate bills really easy, I got the Giulia salad and it was nice, the chips that come with the burgers are amazing!
We love this cafe, we came once years ago and made a point of planning our most recent day in the city around it. The menu is impressive, quality is consistent and Lin was a superstar. We sat at the counter just to chat with her. 10/10 👌🏼✨
Good coffee and extensive breakfast menu. Relatively large for a corner cafe, with window seats facing Abercrombie St to people watch and a small courtyard out the back if you want some quiet.
Love this cafe. The staff and owner go above and beyond to deliver. The coffee and food is top notch.
