Still as delightful and delicious as ever... Been coming fot years and now whenever I visit Sydney I try to make it on for their sublime Smoked Salmon brekkie... Yum. Highly recommended Feb 2022 update: In Sydney for a few days and had to have my cafe Giulia fix. Had the usual and it did not disappoint. The smoked salmon brekky comes out looking like a magazine styled plate...visually a feast for the eyes, so clean and perfect on the plate. Taste wise I live the combination of flavours and textures. Great quality smoked salmon, perfectly poached eggs just how I like them, house made hash browns that are crisp in the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. With wilted spinach and the yummy dressing ... It's so fantastic to be able to come back and reliably have a dish I enjoy so much...I'll be back again and again lol

Cafe Giulia is a lovely little cafe situated right on the corner. It’s surprisingly big, usually quite busy and has a HUGE menu. I’ve gone solely for breakfast and coffee. Coffee is good, pretty standard and quite large portions! I’ve had the waffles and the pancakes. The waffles were delicious, with rhubarb and topped with a smooth and yummy mascarpone cream. They were quite crunchy so if you’re into a more Belgian style waffle they might not be for you. I also have had the pancakes here which were very yum- I went with the lemon & sugar pancakes (which I have never seen this combo before?) and it was really good! Definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area!

I'd have rated this place 5 stars if not for one particular staff who seemed to be constantly grumpy (or simply wasn't happy to see me). Food wise, they're massive (hence the price), and typical classic cafe breakfast & brunch dishes with a little Greek / mediterranean touch. Good taste, but don't think there's an Oomph factor to warrant a repeat visit. Service wise: All of the staff were genial except for one. Long story short, we didn't realize that he gave us a dish that's different from our order (how could we know, all we know is it's also got salmon in it!), obviously looked unhappy and got us the right order afterwards. The next day I came (obviously too soon to forget me right?), and placed an order, the guy's face looked sour. Maybe it's just his perpetual grumpy complexion and I took it personally.

Staff is sooo kind, the food was really good and they got this app that you can order from your table and separate bills really easy, I got the Giulia salad and it was nice, the chips that come with the burgers are amazing!

We love this cafe, we came once years ago and made a point of planning our most recent day in the city around it. The menu is impressive, quality is consistent and Lin was a superstar. We sat at the counter just to chat with her. 10/10 👌🏼✨

Good coffee and extensive breakfast menu. Relatively large for a corner cafe, with window seats facing Abercrombie St to people watch and a small courtyard out the back if you want some quiet.

Love this cafe. The staff and owner go above and beyond to deliver. The coffee and food is top notch.

Amazing food with great service. The specials are great. The Guila eggs are a must try. The waffles are delectable. All in all, a great place to have a lazy breakfast and spend time.

Overall: <br/>Low key ambience and food presenting, but authentic ingredients. <br/><br/>Food Update: <br/><br/>Eggs Benedict 😊 running yolk eggs and creamy cheese with raw baby Spanish! Light up a day! <br/><br/>Burger 🍔 hmmm, it claim it’s special - the only difference of the burger might the beef patty is mixed with corianders and other spices. (I might be wrong coz my insensitive tongue 😛) <br/><br/>To be frank, coffee here is too strong and bitter to me, probably suitable for a strong coffee ☕️ seekers! Haha~ haven’t tried their menu, but I can see their fresh ingredients and lots of local folks dine here. Will try one day and keep updating. <br/><br/>Original comments: <br/>Get little bit crowed on Saturday morning. The opening time on zomato is wrong. They open on Saturday as well.

I went in for a bacon and egg roll with a capuccino, and left feeling i just had a homemade breakfast. The whole place gives a feeling of home-like kitchen, the ingredients feel fresh and well prepared, and the coffee is good. The menu is confusing, but the staff can help you with it ;)

Love this place. I don't know how they can conquer such a wide and fantastic variety. But even the simplest dish is a winner because every single ingredient is hand picked for its taste and quality! Some of my favourites are lentil soup, Greek Salad (add lamb - it's amazing!), and French Toast... Not to mention the burger and hand-cut chips...!
Leon
Breakfast at Cafe Giula is an insult to diners. The flat white is a scalding hot cup of milk with stingy traces of espresso whereas the French Toast with banana tastes and resembles a piece of soggy bread which a kid vomited. Horrible, terrible and tragic. Probably the worst of the worst breakfast in Sydney.
Will Power
Really terrible breakfast! The eggs $10.90 were just that, 1/2 a tiny tomato, each side was $4. The sides were enormous but nothing had flavour, condiments or anything of note! 1/2 an advocado and 2 lumps of potato supposed to be hash browns! Just read timeout magazines top 10 breakfast places Chippo/Newtown don't even rate, we miss out big time!

Just had the Black Eyed Bean soup for lunch. Delish! The smashed avo and feta for breakie is also amazing and, while I'm no coffee snob, their's is some of the best I've had.

I love Sunday brunch. There is just something different about a brunch on Sunday; it’s informal, sacred, unfettered, real. It was real today. It was muggy in the packed-out corner cafe, that smells of sizzling bacon and big Saturday nights. Cafe Giulia on Abercrombie St in Chippendale, is great. It was introduced to me by dear friend Daryl, who lives round the corner from it. It is everything a buzzing neighbourhood cafe should be: the staff is friendly, the menu is huge and the vibe is just right.

Chippendale was my suburb for years and years. I moved out and overnight it turned cool. Go figure. Anyway back in those beknighted days, cafe giulia was the lone beacon of the cool to come. Pre-hipster bearded barista, middle eastern food on the menu, a grungy vibe. Plus ça change, plus ça reste la même.<br/>Food 3.5<br/>Coffee 3.5<br/>Service 3.5<br/>Ambience 3.5<br/>Location 3.5<br/>Noise 3

This placed used to be a good go to for breakfast and coffee. I'm not sure where it's lost it's vibe, the food and the atmosphere have both declined.

Cafe Giulia is a great cafe in Chippendale which is always busy with people every morning, they have a great big blackboard of menu items full of yummy food consisting of burgers, rolls, brekky food, bagels, pasta, and dessert. It's a small cafe with a little outdoor section that is nice and cosy.. I quite like the side salad that comes out with most of the lunch dishes, it has a great mustard dressing which makes it delicious to eat. Juice is good here too!

Quick service, easy food, and reasonably priced. Their haloumi bagel is next level - especially on sourdough bread. Only downside is that there closed on Sundays when you most want to sit in their courtyard and smash out a hungover brekkie.

New favourite joint near UTS! Healthy and delicious breakfast and lunch options plus dessert, coffee, etc. Service is quick and friendly, does get packed during lunch.

Great service, great food and a nice atmosphere. Was greeted by a smiling lady behind the counter recommending dishes to try. She also asked if we would like to share if the portions were too big which was great. You know that they are genuine and just not try to sell as many covers as possible. We had the big breakkie, mushrooms and additional bacon. Loads to fill for two people but we ate it all. The highlight for me was the delicious Hollandaise sauce. Perfectly balanced. Not the best corn fritters though. Would be back here again for sure.
Brunch On Joy
If youre after something laid back, unpretentious with a no fuss artsy vibe, generous servings and value for money - this is the place to be. The once upon a time butcher shop now a cafe is a proven favourite by locals and food bloggers. It definitely hit the spot for us.
Nicholas Jordan
Cafe Giulia’s blackboard novella says the corn fritters are the speciality but I thought they were too soggy – if you threw one against a wall it would slap and split like an omelette I like my fritters to be crisp on the outside and soft and moist in the middle. They taste alight but they’re covered in enough Hollandaise sauce to mask the scent of a horny moose. Maybe they’ve made so many fritters their disdain for the product has made it into overpriced sludge for ($18.90).<br/>

Cafe Guilia, I have been told is normally a great place to go and the food is amazing.  I had a mixed experience on this particular occasion. So here is what happened on this particular instance... My chai was good.  It's not powdered chai. My egg and spinach muffin was well put together but my friend's Kieffer Omette was raw and burnt.  We didn't say anything because we were in a rush with an apartment showing nearby.  My friend also had to wait some time and got her food after other people who had gotten there after us.  We guessed that since it was busy - they had messed up her order and quickly cooked her food.  Prices: About 15 per person
I'm Still Hungry
The Cafe Giulia burger is supposedly one of Sydney’s best 10 burgers. Take that whichever way you will, but it doesn’t detract from the fact that this is a damn good burger.<br/><br/>We have a rustic bun that is bereft of the seedy embellishments found on many other burgers. Fine by me – the less is detracted from the innards! Speaking of the innards…we have a full slice of half-melted cheddar which is cleverly stuck onto the bun’s top half (unfortunately not pictured – I had to take these snaps quick!), a thick slice of tomato (might be too thick for some), lettuce, beetroot (shredded – a nice touch) and topped with super crispy bacon and a fried egg. The meat patty itself is classic Australian beef. The fried
The Sydney Burger Blog
This is a good burger, but I can’t agree with the Sydney Magazine and put it at the top of my list. A better quality meat patty or the added bacon and egg (like the Sydney Mag review) would push this burger closer to the top. Having said that, at $10.90 it is good value compared to other burgers out there, and the addition of the bacon and egg will only set you back an extra $1.

Perched on a quieter street in Chippendale is  Café Giulia  – we discovered this cafe years back, when we had the fortune of visiting one of our design tutor’s Trent Jansen ‘s design atelier (which he shared with DesignbyThem  !) Trent was such an inspiring and patient teacher – and he showed us where the good food were hiding! Navigate through the haphazard large blackboard menu – everything is delicious, one of the best brunch places around town! that scrambled eggs… silky and creamy It is a comfort to go back to the same cafe after a few years and everything retains its standards! On any given day it’s usually bustling with a bit of a queue – as most cafes are! From what I understand, this place is quite an institution in the area. I was expecting it to be very obvious but somehow I missed it and had to do a double take. The cafe is big and it looks a bit dated. Felt a bit like eating in one of the multiple low-key restaurants in Lima. Not that is a bad thing, I’m a low-key person myself and often feel uncomfortable in funky cafes targetted to hipsters. I had read a number of reviews that said that service was bad but it was not the case the day we visited. We started off with our usual beverage of choice: long black . Coffee was quite strong for my taste, so I had my second cup somewhere else. Long black ($3.50) We shared a serve of eggs , which can be cooked to your liking, and come with spinach, mushrooms and toast. We ordered them poached , skipped the toast and added bacon and avocado. The eggs were perfectly poached but sadly the bacon was burnt. Poached eggs bacon & avoca

# The home-made beans reminded me of the familiar baked beans from a can, but ten times way better! There is a variety of flavors than just plain tomato paste - with a hint of spiciness to it.
Best For Breakfast
Don't judge a book by it's cover...not much to look at from the outside but they had lovely food...

Cafe Giulia's menu is massive, but there's only one breakfast that you'd Benjamin Button yourself over, and it's the rhubarb and yoghurt (or mascarpone) waffles. Wikipedia tells me that even properly cooked rhubarb is slightly toxic in extremely high quantities, notably because it features the word barb in it which if affiliated with a sting ray can also be toxic. So before the nanny state arrives in 2012 get in as many of Giulia's waffles as you can without dying. (Coffee is from The Coffee Roaster who manage to own www.coffee.com.au and also roast coffee.) This is an experimental rhubarb on pancakes they custom made me once: 92 Abercrombie Street, Chippendale. Closes 5pm.

Cafe Giulia, Abercrombie Street, Chippendale. Located in a former butchers' shop in a 100 year old building. Excellent coffee, pleasant if slightly trendy ambience, mis-shapen muffins, creative salads and omelettes, and olive green decor.

Oh Giulia, Giulia, wherefore art thou Giulia? Where hast thou been all my life? Sure I'd read about Cafe Giulia in various blogs and online reviews , its breakfast merits trumpeted with mirthful glee, but the legs have taken some time to catch up with the heart. Oh what fool am I. Panzanella salad $13.90 with grilled prawns, tomato, basil, parmesan and croutons We set off at a brisk pace down Abercrombie Street, almost walking past the place, a corner cafe in what was once an butchers shop, its business marked only by a small red name plate, hanging up high. It's all systems go inside, a chaotic blur of staff rushing past, customers queueing at the counter, a frenzy of chefs at the open kitchen, and an enormous blackboard that is dizzying with its relentless white scrawl of menu options. Everything is cooked to order, and it's both exciting and enticing to see, hear and smell the sizzle of bacon, the flipping of pancakes, the chopping of salads, the final flourish of dishes. The noise

The cafe is located along Abercrombie Street, which is more Ultimo than Chippendale if you ask me. It is strategically located near several universities, such as UTS, Notre Dame and Sydney University, not to mention it is also within walking distance from the students only apartment, Unilodge :) There are may to choose from the menu written on the blackboard, and the prices are very reasonable as the serving size
Does My Bomb Look Big In This
This popular Chippendale entry attracts students, locals and workers from the trendy designer businesses located in the vicinity. The large blackboard menu is the only hint that all ordering is done at the counter. For breakfast I recommend the Tuscan Toast with Ricotta, Honey and Cinnamon ($9.90) and a Latte ($3.50) . I will warn though, the coffee here is variable - it's best when the handsome Ryan Jace is behind the machine - use this fact wisely, and don't be afraid to select an excellent Banana Smoothie ($5.90) instead. The fresh juices including my personal favourite, Pineapple, Apple, Ginger and Mint ($5.90) , make a nice accompaniment to lunch. My usual options include the Chicken Coriander Mayo with Fresh Lime and Chilli Casa Roll ($9.90) and the Lamb with Marinated Beetroot, Fetta, Roasted Peppers and Yoghurt Sauce Casa Roll ($9.90) . If it's cold and your thoughts turn to pasta, the Chicken, Mushroom, White Wine and Cream ($16.90) scrubs up best. Bear in mind, all the pastas
I Ate My Way Through
You know what I just realised? I’ve been eating at Cafe Giulia for several years now and I’ve never blogged about it! Actually, I thought I had… But my blog archives say otherwise, if you don’t include the small mention of it here . I absolutely adore this cafe, so here’s a collection of some of my favourite dishes I’ve had during the past month: Let’s start with the Belgian waffles with rhubarb and mascarpone . I love the deep craters on Belgian waffles, it makes it so much more texturally satisfying to bite into. These are pretty perfect. They have a super crisp exterior and an ever so light interior. The sweet tangyness of the rhubarb is paired with deliriously decadent mascarpone, and finished off with a dusting of a little confectioners’ sugar. It’s an incredibly divine combination, which I like to improve with a side of bacon! Best brunch dish ever. If you’re after a more savoury note, then you must try the grilled chicken casa roll ($9.90). It is grilled chicken with loads of co

Don't get it. 19dollars for 3corn fritters and poached eggs. coffee was meh... fritters were very flour-ly.. barely any corn...

Fabulous food!. This hidden cafe offers wonderful food, drinks and coffee at reasonable prices. The service is good too, the atmosphere is also pleasant. I had the pasta bolognaise which was delicious. I highly recommend this place to all.

Bad rude service from waitresses. On a Sunday morning wanted to go checkout the famous salmon breakfast. Was looking for a table for one person and was been told I could sit anywhere. I took an empty table after placing my order. Then asked to change table outside after half the order is been served. It was raining outside and when asked to change table they took me to a front table which was overcrowded.

Utterly delicious soups. If you are a soup lover, come here. The other food is excellent too and there is a huge and diverse menu do your non soup loving friends will be happy too. Or so I am told. I can't remember having anything here but soup.

"Unhygienic" We sought out .... "Unhygienic"<br/>We sought out this cafe, based on a fantastic visit 8mths ago. Ordered our b:fasts. Became concerned when main waiter was seen eating a fry up & wiping his mouth in between delivering food to tables, without washing hands. Then noticed barista was noshing down a bacon & egg roll while making coffee. Gross. Then, two more staff behind counter joined in the food fest - inc the chef at the grill. My wife could not believe it & we joked there were more employees eating than customers ...touching their mouths etc without washing hands. We were turned off our food. Won't be back. Visit by food inspector is required.

Not up to their standards. I can see where other bloggers have mentioned that the staff have an attitude? <br/><br/>anyways, we had the corn "fritters" which were more like floury batches of dough with some scattered corns and poacked eggs where the egg whites were pretty much transparent.<br/><br/>the only good thing about the place was the yummy iced coffee.. might come back to get t/a coffee but thats it...<br/><br/>oh and btw, they have like .10 .. yet the staff seem like they have no idea what they're doing.. why dont they have someone just for clearing tables, one for running food...

Ultimate breakfast Sydney. Great menu, service, food and generous portions. trendy and bustling too, love it every time.

Yeah the staff are pretty rude but the waffles are amazing!

Burger fans you're home. I can only comment on the burgers and chips as I haven't tried anything else. I was famished, and those burgers really hit the spot. The patty was fresh and oh so juicy, topped with cheese and mustard and lettuce of some sort. That does set you back around $10, which is sort of a shame as it does not include fries. So ordered a bowl of chips, which were actual potatoes with the skin still on, not the frozen stuff you get elsewhere, which was a nice touch, but I'm not sure I liked it. I still love good oily fries with a tonne of chicken salt.

SO RUDE! Something has to be said. Something has to be said. I have been disgusted by the service at Guilias now THREE TIMES and you know what?<br/><br/>Its not just me i work at the company around the corner and there are at least 5 of us who have been mistreated or witnessed it and are considering a joint boycott of your restaurant. <br/><br/>We most likely keep your business alive are probably 70% of your turnover and you are very disrespectful. <br/><br/>Ive been sworn at, Scolded at for changing an order, and I recieved sloppy under cooked Omlette. <br/><br/>Sort it out "Giulias" <br/><br/>All the young waiters are really nice and friendly though, to my suprise it was the old people that were HORRIBLE both the man and the woman. <br/><br/>If you dont change soon i can prove how dissattisfied we are, At least 10 people at our company WILL give you a bad rating. <br/><br/>Your chips are INCREDIBLE though :)

Good food & coffee... service lacking.. Been here a few times when I am in the area, always good food, coffee and great busy atmosphere... some improved service would be nice.<br/><br/>No matter how busy some one on the till taking orders / payment is, it does not take much effort to make eye contact and smile at your customers who have chosen Café Giulia, over other cafes in the area.

Yummy food but definitely lacking some warm customer service

Disappointed.. Heard good things from the bf who raved about this place as his 'local'. However things must have seriously gone downhill because we left brunch feeling very underwhelmed. Ordered the corn stack and bf had the salmon breakfast. <br/>Service- We waited forever for our food and had to watch 2 other tables get their food served first. Also there is no table service. <br/>Food- My corn stack was drenched in sauce .. so much that I had to scrape half the sauce off the place just so I could eat my food. Bf's salmon tasted fine but he got a tummy ache afterwards so wasnt very fresh.<br/>Sorry but wont be back! Especially since there are so many better places in that price range.
Julie
First time here today and am on the fence on whether I would return. Got a table without any help (would be appreciated though). Paper menu would be helpful as well and my friend and I had to order separately at the counter. We both had the salmon breakfast which was good but nothing to rave about despite not being worth the price tag. Juice however, was exceptionally good.
Glen
Casa Roll? More like pequeño roll.. When I order a sandwich for $9.90, I expect to feel full afterwards. Unfortunately, when I opened up my take-away 'Casa Roll' I found that half the roll was missing. I went back to enquire about the missing half of my sandwich, only to be told that I had in fact consumed the entire Casa Roll. <br/><br/>Guys, I know we're in Chippendale, and you have a lot of hair product and tattoos to pay for, but charging $9.90 for a tiny sandwich is simple greed. <br/><br/>I won't be back.
Jeff
Breakfast. I love it here.. I have only gone for breakfast and recommend it. Also they have great orange juice

Great Space and Vibe. I like Cafe Giulia for the vibe and the space. It's just a local cafe - so I'm not really there expecting amazingly creative and innovative food. I love the gluten free cakes and the coffee is fine. The food is fresh and fast. The menu is HUGE!

Nothing special. After hearing rave reviews about this place from friends, I decided to meet a friend there for brunch this morning. I was a bit hesitant though after reading some of the negative reviews on here - but hey, some of them were also glowing.<br/>We ordered our meals, mine was poached eggs & tomato/mushroom on toast, and I ordered spinach and avocado as extras. My friend ordered the breakfast special, which is a corn fritters dish served with eggs.<br/>Took a bit of searching to find 2 seats, which is usually a good sign. Coffee came out first - but in saying that was about a 20min wait. Food was a bit slow to come out and my dish came out about 10min before my friend's. <br/>I had ordered spinach and avo with my meal but the spinach was missing - and given my eggs on toast / extras and coffee came to $26, I thought it was pretty ordinary to "forget" part of my meal. <br/>My meal was pretty average - for the price they charge for something so simple I would have expected flavour - it lacked it completely. I had to add a LOT of salt to give it "something". <br/>Apparently the corn fritters are pretty good though so maybe it's best to go for a specialty dish rather than a simple one.<br/>All in all - food / service - not great at all and I probably won't go back, despite living a whole 200m away.
I_love_food
Terrible Service!. While the food and juices are indeed quite tasty, the terrible service is not worth it! The staff were exceptionally rude, argued when they had provided the wrong order and did not offer any apology. With a plethora of unique, ambient and friendly cafes in the area, I recommend avoiding this one and enjoying another.

GOOD coffee, solid service. Giulia provides a consistent coffee, and theyre just down the road from my work. What more could I want?

Did a controlled stumble down to Café Giulia (whose name kept reminding us of the PM) Sunday morning for brunch. The place has retained its Mediterranean connections with its handwaving workhouse atmosphere and industrial approach to nourishment. Ordered two spivvy soy flat whites which were very good & made a nice change from Campos. Lady of the night had a suitably lascivious serving of French toast which was surprisingly well done in spite of its Spartan arrangement, being bathed in an eggy placenta long enough to overcome its breadiness. Maple syrup was served in an old soft drink bottle. I supped on a haloumi, avocado & mushroom bagel which was pas mal, more on the aforementioned industrious that exuberant front. The concoction was washed down with a freshly minted juice. In summary this is hangover cure food, akin to say breakfast cafes on Kingsland Rd in east London.
Ftist
Get the waffles!. Busy everytime we go but somehow manage to find a seat so it's never been an issue for us.<br/><br/>Menu is very big and everything we have tried has been amazing, especially the eggs with kofte. The waffles with rhubarb and marscarpone are also a must try!
Syd_G
Totally overrated, terrible service and meat wasn't cooked properly, eggs were tasteless and watery and didnt bring food out at the same time, iced coffee tasted ordinary, just like a flat white with lots of ice in it ... waiters cant even smile ... and overpriced
Julziek
Fun, relaxed, easy. Something about this place just works. You feel welcome and the atmosphere is joyous and relaxed. There is lots of choice on both food and drinks menu. The servings seem fairly generous. There was nothing particularly grand about the food or decor, yet we were plenty satisfied. I can see why it's so busy!
Arizzle
This cafe is completely overrated. I ordered poached eggs with sausage and hash browns. The tomatoes were slimy, the toast was dry and scratchy and I don't even know what to say about the sausages. The staff were rude and the food came out at different times. My dining companions were similarly underwhelmed with their various choices. I won't be coming back.
Bethany
Went here for breakfast ordered two coffee's they bought out three. When I tried to explain I only ordered two the waitress got really defensive and told me I had ordered three she then said she would give me my money back for the third coffee I told her not to worry about it as I knew I'd only been charged for the two. Then I heard the man on the table next to me tell the waitress he hadn't received his coffee. I would have preferred her admit she was wrong instead of speak down to me and then give me $3.50 when I didn't actually over pay. The food was average. The corn fritters lacked the key ingredient corn. And I was too scared to ask for butter for my toast after the rudeness of the waitress. I don't get the hype about this place have been more than once and after today I won't be going back.
Hungry Kitty
Such a wonderful cafe! Everything on the menu is delicious and super reasonably priced! I would recommend the haloumi bagel with mushroom and a homemade passionfruit soda :)
Alex
Yum. White bean and fennel soup, with crusty bread. Delicious! Great coffee.
Dan Buhagiar
Delicious food and really great staff. The haloumi bagel is a killer hangover cure. The fresh bagels with ricotta are pretty fab too. Probably the best value coffee in Sydney that's consistently good.
Mad_hatter3
Busy breakfasts. I love this place, but make sure to leave plenty of time as it's always super busy, so expect to wait for a table. I love the waffles, but the eggs/tomato/toast (plus all sorts of sides on offer) are affordable and generously sized and so are a more regular choice for me.
Lyzzi Donnelly-Coode
The staff are super friendly and helpful, water jugs out in the open for you to grab which I love, the food is amazing, though the coffee isn't great. I strongly recommend the French toast.

Hidden gem in Chippendale. I first met Giulia a few years back and meeting her again is like love at first sight. Giulia makes the most of simple, fresh ingredients in a bustling environment. Get in early for lunch because this place is usually packed. And the food is the reason why. I've had the delicious panzanella salad and the steak casa roll. There's also a melt in your mouth cake made up of layers of wafer, chocolate and caramel.

Great Brekky!. Just got back from a very yummy brekfast at Cafe Giulia. I had the bagel with avocado, mushrooms and haloumi, the mrs had bacon and eggs. My bagel was delish! really hit the spot. The Mrs serving of bacon and eggs was huge and thoroughly enjoyed. Atmosphere is great, albeit very noisy the place was packed and we were lucky to grab a place to sit. The staff were friendly and meals came out swiftly. Check this place out.

Hidden gem. If you drive down the busy Abercrombie St on a Saturday morning, it's easy to almost pass Cafe Giulia without noticing the busy hustle of waiters, food orders and diners inside. The smell of eggs and warm coffee is what lures you in if you're walking past. I ventured here on a Saturday morning, it was really busy and almost hard to find a place to sit. After ordering from the endless menu options, and even second guessing what I was to eat (too many great choices), I opted for the Smoked Salmon breakfast, with poached egg, hashbrown, spinach and a side of sourdough. The serving was enormous. I've never been to a cafe with such generous servings! I couldn't finish the breakfast of course, but all parts of the food was what you want in a brunch. Eggs were poached perfectly, hashbrowns were crisp on the outside and fluffy inside, the whole busy atmosphere also added to this really great way to start a Sat morning. I'll definitely be back to try other menu options.<br/><br/>I would give this cafe a 6.5/10

Beautiful coffee. Had a cup of cappuccino this morning and it was a such a great way to start the gloomy day. I can smell the cacao powder through the lid of the take away cup. It was very cold this morning so I also used it as my hands warmer :-) So by the time I get to my office, the coffee was not that hot anymore. Still, it was very nice. The cacao power, the roasted coffee and full cream milk work together perfectly!! Writing about it makes me want more~<br/><br/>Will definitely return!
Orange_tree
Not for lazy brunches. Cafe Giulia gets a lot of hype but I won't be returning any time soon. Service is friendly but demand for tables far outstrips supply. As a result, we were crammed uncomfortably close with other patrons and all notions of a leisurely meal is forgotten.<br/>The menu is large - the roast pork sandwich and brekky rolls are especially tasty. The breakfast muffin is tiny and I could easily have eaten 2. Sides are also ridiculously priced - a sad mound of spinach is $4. <br/>In short, Cafe Giulia is a victim of its success. It was worth trying but will not be a regular haunt.

Lost the plot..... I had breakfast here about once or twice a week for ages...... Food selection was excellent and the staff were friendly, which made up for pretty average coffee. However, they seem to have taken recent reviews to heart and disappeared up their own nether regions! 8)<br/><br/>Food has been disappointing of late and the manager and chef have become quite snarky. Too many great places nearby for breakfast to waist more time here.....

Be careful what you order as the menu is so large it means food is made only with a slap dash approach. What I got was just slop, completely unstomachable. But that's ok they have plenty of undiscerning locals to keep their coffee churning.
