We often get takeaway from tandoori express. The butter chicken, paneer and vegetable korma. I think the food is pretty standard takeaway indian food, its tasty, arrives hot and i honestly dont really have a lot of complaints. The butter chicken is definitely sweetened for western palate. But the chicken is tender and food is tasty. I dont think it's quite as authentic as some of the other indian restaurants i have been to, i do prefer my curries to be hot when i select medium.... i would continue to order from tandoori express

Not a flash place and very basic. The food however is always delicious you will enjoy the standard Indian dishes offered and very well done, we do enjoy this place very much with the yumy butter or mango chicken.
The staff and owner alway do make welcoming.
Little details and attention provided each time.

User reviews. Hit and miss. Food usually a hit although some selections tend to be comparatively expensive. Staff sometimes a miss, depending on who is there and when you go.

From the beautiful aroma on the street to the ambient setting inside the restaurant, this little pocket of India is a nice little escape.

The food is well priced and good value and is served with exceptional warm hearted service.

Happy to give a doggy bag, taste tests of dishes and free condiments with our meal.

Thanks for a lovely evening Tandoori Express.

Tandoori Express. This place likes to look at itself as a fine dining establishment as well as a takeaway. It's far from fine dining. There's white table cloths, candles and dim lighting but the brightly lit baine marie filled with bubbling curries sits like a massive illuminated bus taking up half of the room.
The tandoori chicken is good enough & comes out on a sizzling hot plate & the lamb saag is very very good.

Fantastic little gem in the heart of newtown just off the busy main street. The restaurant serves beautifully presented and authentic tasting food. Their menu is completely halal but do offer alcohol put of a bar. The seating area is nice and relaxed and the staff was very friendly and attentive. It was a real pleasure talking to the owner. You do have to wait a little bit for your food to start coming in but I guarantee you the wait is worth it. Everything is fresh and you will forget the wait after the first bite. Definitely a must try in newtown.

Finally got a chance to try this lovely restaurant. Over all the food was quite good. Service was good too! My favorite dish was the combination entrees! Lamb was absolutely delicious. Grilled chicken was amazing too. Prawns were nice too. Camel curry was a bit dry and too chewy🥺 Chicken masala was really good. I liked it the most. Naan was okish. Lasi was yummy! If you like Indian food, it’s definitely worth trying!

What an amazing place for some great Indian food. Service was great and the food was some of the best Indian I have had in Sydney. Highly recommended to book a table as this place is always busy. Make sure you try the prawns.

The most amazing Indian food and 10/10 service! We had the samosas, lamb kebab, butter chicken, lamb bhuna, accompanied by garlic naan and saffron rice and honestly everything was sensational. So packed full of flavour and also very good portion sizes - not too big but not too small! We weren’t going to have dessert but then everything else was so good we had to try the desserts too. We got the gulab jamun and the coconut and jaggery kulfi - both were amazing and the perfect way to finish the meal. Everything was cooked to perfection. The staff were also very friendly and helpful when it came to ordering, and also kindly took photos of us for Valentine’s Day! Overall, could not recommend highly enough - we will definitely be back.

My husband and I ditched our favourite Thai restaurant over kachori cravings. DOD came top on our google search, and seeing Khasta Kachori on the menu, we were thrilled! It was our first visit here and we instantly fell in love with DOD! The subtle ambience, pleasing Indian music, and welcoming hosts like Javed certainly added to charm to this place. Food is delicious-flavours are spot on! The sweet tangy and spicy burst of flavours in the khasta kachori just took us back to the streets of India. For mains we had Chicken Pepper fry and garlic naan. Chicken was tender and perfectly cooked, while the gravy gave excellent flavours of pepper and curry leaves. Garlic naan was soft and as usual yum! This was our first time at DoD but certainly not the last time! Have to come back to try other delicacies on the menu and some raspberry chocolate desert that Javed suggested. One of the best Indian restaurants i've visited till now, a must visit!

I have lived in the area for just over 2 years now and only just got the chance to dine at Delhi ‘O’ Delhi this evening. This was honestly the tastiest food I’ve had in a while! Each dish we ordered had so much flavour and the portions were extremely generous. All of the wait staff were so friendly and the service was really efficient. I can’t wait to come back already. Will recommend this places to anyone and everyone!
