Best Thai in Sydney! I always order the Pad See Ew with beef and every time it just gets better and better. The food here is amazing and affordable. Oh and the portion sizes...WOW. The food definitely lives up to the name. Would recommend to anyone looking for amazing quick Thai in Sydney!
Visited a over a couple of days with a Groupon takeaway voucher- $6 with a bottle of water.
Unbelievable value. They didn't scrimp or cut down their portions just because it's a Groupon (many other establishments do just because it's a Groupon). Taste wise is great for its price (realistic expectations for a place like this). Can't believe how they can make a profit, but having seen thousands of Groupons sold (25k and counting), they must be doing something right!
Was very full every time I did a takeaway. Had a dine-in once and service was attentive (not many people). Highly recommended. Tried their Tom Yum noodle soup, pad thai, pad see ew, fried chilli rice, stir fried garlic and pepper rice & panang curry rice so far.
Will visit again when I'm in town!
This is the ideal budget place. With a large, delicious portion of chicken pad thai to go, you can rest assured that you won't be hungry. The place looks nice and typically Thai, and the staff is very friendly!
Food was great than I had expected though, mixture of Thai and exotic taste, restaurant had a comfortable feeling, would be great to come in a group to such a place.the service was up to standard, very polite and helpful.
Came here a couple of times and have tried the fish congee and fried rice. Servings are quite big and service is fast. Thought they were both delicious.

'Big portion, great taste'Taste: We ordered the Pad See Ew (Tofu/Veggies) it was fantastic. Lots of flavour, thick noodles, tasty tofu, great sauce. Highly recommend. (Gas Fan isn't working at the moment, had to resort to another less than Jumbo thai thai dish place around the corner)
Cost: Around $9
Time: 10 mins (worth the wait)
Big portion but taste wise not that great. Still eatable but lack of seasoning in my opinion. The skewers were tender and good, the skewer's sauce was good as well.
They cooked the food really fast. Got the food in less than 10 mins
Yes its another Thai resto but this is definitely a good one. Portions is generous and its as tasty as it should. Its a bang for the buck for their lunch meals and the service was fast! Coming back again? Absolutely.
Came here for a scoopon deal. So wasn't expecting much.
Overall the food is your typical thai place. Fast but nice. The portion was standard my friend said it was quite big for me it's OK.
The sitting can accommodate around 30. The table size are roomy even with 2 large plates and drinks and space to put both arms comfortably resting.
Overall good place for takeaways n quick sittings.
Standard thai, but of course they are delicious though! Just happened to be around there. Had the beef pad thai. Tasty food and big serving as well :) friendly staff.
Food is always consistent here in portions, flavour and presentation. Though they're not a fine dining, the flavours of their food is enough to prove they know what they're doing behind the kitchen.
Staff are decent and will answer your enquiries.
Always order a Beef Pad Thai and the main element that brings me returning is the fact that their beef is REAL BEEF. None of that processed meat!
Definitely recommend :)
Value for money. Nice food at a decent price. Staff are helpful and the interior is nicely decorated. There is a fair amount of content on each dish, at around $10, which is a bargain. Is close to Chinatown and to Darling Harbour, so it's in a good location too
Food Is Really Great

As I type, a quarter-full box of $7 chicken pad thai (takeaway) sits in front of me and I'm sad because there was so much in the box and I can't finish it all. So yes, in summary, it's excellent value! This pad thai deal only comes with the chicken option by the way, and its listed along with lots of other bargains outside the restaurant window. The store wasn't busy so I was able to walk in and have the order cooked in about 5 minutes. The staff personally walked over to where I was waiting and handed me the box! Thankyou!
The pad thai itself is super good, and comes with lots of chicken and carrots. I was only planning to visit once but I think I'll become a regular now.
Value for money, especially for the satays. Great tasting Thai food, decent portions and it doesn't break the bank. Fantastic place for takeaway.
Good thai place for a decent lunch - has all the popular thai dishes. Had the pad see ew, and wasn't expecting much at first but it was actually quite good! It was a groupon special - and will definitely go back again for a good value meal as the normal price meals seems reasonable too.
Bought a groupon for my family to dine in here. At first wasnt happy with the boss's attitude cuz we were late a bit. However the food made it up. To my surprise their fried rice, Tomyum, Phad Thai, Spring Roll are quite nice. We ordered too much Fried Chicken and found it is so so.
Others are good.
Highly recommended for the food.
Ordered Pad Thai and Red Curry Chicken as well as Green Curry Chicken.
The winner is the Pad Thai. It ticked all the boxes for nice Pad Thai. Tangy rice noodle crunchy peanut and freshly cooked chicken and veggies.
The green curry is slightly better than Red Curry one. Maybe it's due to my own preference for stronger flavoured dish.
Bottom line : Great food. Good service. Great value.
I come here regularly being a uni student and needing a quick eat. I come in for the lunch time special which runs from 11AM-3PM. You get a dish from a selection they offer for $8.70. I find the chilli basil is always a go-to in thai restaurants. Once you order, you get your food within 10 minutes which is quite efficient. The vegetables are always crisp and flavourful and the meet cooked well. Definitely worth the price! Don't forget to ask the front counter for a loyalty card - after 5 orders you get a free coke with the 6th order! Living the study life makes you appreciate any sort of freebie!
Great take away or eat in Thai food. They serve all sort of thai staple food. Love their Chicken Pad See Ew, Green Curry and Red Curry. Currently they have $6 groupon meal deal that you can redeem for dinner or lunch, eat in or take away. Go grab them fast!
With the vast variety if Thai places to eat around central station, me and a friend decided to try this place out. The place was busy with people ordering take away. I found it funny that you have to order and pay for the food before you can sit down at a table in which we had to wait about 5 mins for one to become available. Ordered a pork belly laksa with bean sprouts and tofu and a bit of carrot and noodles. The portion size of the laksa was enormous, more then enough pork belly and noodles and not enough tofu. The soup was quite nice and creamy not as thick as I would like but pretty decent for $9.50. Going to come back and try another dish maybe a curry or pad Thai
The best priced pad Thai u will probably find in Sydney. Get in before 11.50am and a decent serving will cost u $6. If you are picky about your serving sizes I would get in early - the portion sizes seem to be distinctly greater before the lunch time rush
Cheap and tasty good. I usually have a Groupon voucher when I get a takeaway from them and one box is able to feed two people. So the quantity is very generous and the food is also very tasty.
Dinner here last weekend and I think the food was really very very good, not really a surprise as it was very busy and that is usually a good sign. It was also very cheap, i have eaten in many restaurants much more expensive than this and been disappointed. I would recommend this place to anyone who just wants to have a great meal. It may look fairly ordinary but the food definitely is not.
Easy to travel to, good food and fast service. Enough said. Ate the chicken pad see ew and the noodles were cooked perfectly. $6 with a bottle of water (groupon).
We had a Scoopon voucher and we booked for dinner on a Wednesday night and we really had a GREAT experience! The food was really tasty and one of the best Thai we have had, we do love Thai food! We had $60 to spend and we order money bags and curry puffs as an entree, a papaya salad with crispy chicken, a salmon fillet on red curry, rice and a green curry with veggies. It was really well served, quick, very fresh veggies and big portions. The service was good as well. I do recommend this place! It is not sophisticated but the food is delicious and it's a nice place in a good spot! Cheers
Yummy yummy yunny goes my tummy. The thai laksa here was delicious and soup was the best I've had. (Better than Chef lagenda or Laksa king in Melbourne) I would be back for it every time I visit Sydney!!
Went here today after uni finished, very convenient location for UTS students and would recommend if going with a few others and wanting some big portions at a decent price!! I ordered the Aussie fried rice or whatever its called, had to wait a bit long but the wait was definitely worth it because it tasted fantastic!! Only thing was, that me and my friend weren't able to finish the portions. Only after we were done, did we realise what the name of the restaurant implied....JUMBO dishes.
I would probably go here again, since it's so close to my uni :DD
Not the best Thai I've had here, but the prices are quite decent. As the old saying goes sometimes, you get what you pay for, and I felt that saying was applicable here.
I ended up going here a few times using their $6 Scoopon special (meal + drink). Not bad if you want a quick, fresh and cheap lunch.
Quite a decent place for a quick bite.
Everything is prepared fresh and is hot when served.
I keep going to back to the place, for small, quick meals! I recommend you try it at least once
Quite good taste, considering the value of scoopon voucher, which only cost $6. Ordered one red curry and fried noodle with ouster sauce, both are quite taste
I've found Jumbo Thai a little inconsistent unfortunately. Been here several time now and it's mostly quite good. I tend to order basil cashew nut noodles. However I've been other times ordering a standard chicken pad Thai which has strangely been very bland. Not only that, the noodles were tough and they were a little stingy in central components such as the chicken. I almost wonder if it was because I ordered it during their lunch time special period?
Besides that negative aspect there is much positive about Jumbo Thai as the selection is good, service efficient and venue comfortable. Even though my last experience wasn't great, I'll still try it again as my first meals were great and I'd like to give it the benefit of the doubt.
I have ordered take away from here twice. They are efficient and the food has been great both times. Would like to eat in but never have time, staff are great. I've had the duck pad kee Mao and duck red curry. I'd have to say the pad kee Mao is one of the best I've tasted and I've eaten a lot of Thai in my time.
The servings were huge. Very tasty food and the service was very friendly. The open kitchen lets you see them cooking.Very clean restaurant.
Great lunch spot. Great tasting food and reasonably priced. :)
A great find in Chinatown. I was in Sydney for work last week and stayed in a hotel in Haymarket. I found Jumbo Thai not far from there and ended up eating there 3 of the 4 nights I was there. The food is great, my dining companion said that his seafood laksa was the second best he had tasted in Australia and I loved everything I tried including salt and pepper calamari, stir fry beef and vegetables in cashew sauce, spring rolls, curry puffs and eggplant fries. Extremely well priced, friendly and helpful service and decently priced drinks both alcoholic and not. $8 margarita for the win!
Good qulity n cheaper price. They use good ingredient and big portion
It's great food with great price, service is good,I used voucher, you need to prebook. We always eaten here, taste and size suit us.
Recommended the chili fried rice, papaya salad, green curry, Pat Thai and fried ice cream. Location in walking distance of Central station and China Town. No parking but you can stop in front of the restaurant.
The restaurant serve alcohol, entree, main and dessert plus one complete meal in a dish.
Price really good. It's clean and decent. Décor is simple but nice. It's not 5 star restaurant but good enough for casual dining with great price. The most expensive meal under $19 original price.
So don't be afraid to try..we has been here for almost two years and never dissatisfied.
One of the best Pad Thai I've ever eaten. Came here for lunch 3 days in a row for it. Now back again for Chilli Basil this week as working around corner all week. Huge servings and very good value for money, cheap to be honest
Pretty good thai food. Meat is good. Groupon vouchers are a treat. Worth trying if you're a local. Great place to hang out with friends. Service is Asian standard, efficient.
Price is reasonable. Taste n portions are good. Service is fast and friendly. Would come back to checkout the other dishes. Thanks
Good cost performance. Pad thai costs just 7 dollars for takeaway. Currys does 8.9. Much quantity for adult. Moreover it's tasty.
