The best food and coffee in Summer Hill. The staff are very friendly and fast. The food is really good. The menu needs some updating but is quite reasonable and the chef will improvise or accommodate requests and some changes on ingredients. My partner is vegetarian and asked for a halloumi burger (not in the menu) and the chef made a delicious one. My partner was very pleased so we go there frequently.
Their Pea pancake is amazing and keeps me going back to them. I’ve also tried their chicken Caesar, which was surprisingly great as well. It gets quite busy over the weekend because the food is overall very great there

Imaginative food, excellent coffee and great service from friendly staff. The middle eastern breakfast plate was delicious and great value while the corn fritters were up there with the best we’ve tried. The cafe also had a nice busy Sunday morning vibe.We’ll be back!
Bathed in sunshine, the umbrella and tree canopy shaded courtyard out the back is a very comfortable spot to enjoy a magazine and Alchemy Coffee. If in need of further nourishment, there's a nice selection of meals, bites and in-betweens. The chicken, corn and spinach toastie really hit the spot with an unidentifiable middle eastern cheese (in the words of the waiters!) providing the requisite ooze.
Good little neighbourhood spot with plenty of space. Feels like one big open area for the whole place which gives it a nice atmosphere. The coffee is very good and the toasties are delicious, especially the pulled pork one.
One of the best cafes in Summer Hill, Plunge attracts a bunch of locals and walkers by. It’s hard to find parking so when you see one, take it! Service is great, they even gave us a dog bowl for Minnie. . Three cheese and mushroom truffle toast: this was bloody delicious! Not overpowering cheese or truffle. Perfect amount of mushroom etc
I drove through this area, saw this cool spot, and decided stop here for a quick brunch. The pea pancakes are absolutely delicious, well balanced seasoning, good portion of foods. The street view is remarkable, can see two very beautiful trees, nice relaxing background music, gonna come back again for sure with my friends for a chilling afternoon
Fantastic, friendly service, food cooked extremely well and standard sydney cafe brunch pricing. Loved their ricotta pancakes - stack of 3: crunchy on outside, right balance of smooth ricotta and fluffiness on the inside. Tasty pulled pork jaffle too. Good coffee (by Coffee Alchemy). Will be back!
Have been here on a few occasions and have enjoyed my food thoroughly bar this last time. I almost always order the same dish (corn fritters w poached eggs, avocado salsa & sour cream). The fritters were really soft and had no crunch and were a bit dark in color (brownish red??) & the eggs weren't runny! I ordered their drink special Sahlab latte which is a Lebanese/ Arabic inspired drink... but the only similarity was the color of the drink. Quite disappointed! Giving a rating of 4 only for the sake of the occasions that I did enjoy my meals otherwise based on this times experience it would be a 3/5.

Out of all of the Summer Hill cafés, Plunge is my favourite! Their coffee is wonderful, service is always pleasant and quick, and their milkshakes are great too. I still haven’t eaten here yet, but I don’t think I’ll be waiting long 😊
The best shakshouka in town. Waitresses can be a bit hit and miss but if the owner is about, he's a champ and will look after you from the moment you walk in. Reasonable prices for the higher quality of the coffee and food. Great for a hangover treat!
Little cafe on the main strip of Summer Hill, had brunch here on a Sunday and the place was busy! The staff were really friendly and the service was quite quick however.
Had the corn fritters with tomato relish & poached egg which was very tasty and the portion size good for the price. Also had an Egyptian tea which was minty and refreshing. I'll defiantly be back to try more of their food!
Best zuchinni fritters ive ever had. If you're a mushroom fan try the marinated mushrooms as a side as they were cooked just right. My partner really enjoyed the pea pancakes too. Wow would defenitely come back here again.

A foodie has a birthday and so we must celebrate with lots of food, wine and good times. Everything was shared and it was plentiful. It started with some dips, then onto Haloumi, then Greek salad, Greek slaw salad, mussels, chicken, lamb and finally the 3 desserts! wow every dish was great and well presented! Staff were wonderful as they had to keep up with out big group plus other patrons inside. Overall, great first visit and i will endeavour to return!
Amazing food, and great value for money. Absolutely loved every dish - the pork belly was the best I've had and the ocy and cheese was lovely. I'd recommend eating here while it lasts.
Dropped in here after a meeting and chose the special of the day which was a chicken risotto with mushroom. This can be a risky option but whoa was I happy. The saffron stock was amazing and the rice perfectly cooked. Had a coffee and that was great too. Coming back soon and will make the trip especially.

Prep your belly and come here ready to feast. You won't be disappointed with any of the dishes here, they are all really pleasant and perfect for sharing. As with all Greek restaurants, you have to order the haloumi, I could have sat there and ate it all night, it was divine.
The pork belly with lamb was one of my favourites and the dips with filo pqstry, it was a nice change from your standard breads.
Desserts were okay. If you're still hungry I recommend ordering some extra dishes to fill the hole rather than fill up on the desserts.
A great place to go to for a fantastic greek banquet dinner. Their lamb and pork baklava is a must!!! So tender and succulent. Id also recommend their haloumi with nectarine, an amazing combo that compliments each other so well that i would have never expected. I wasnt too big on their desserts, they were all warm :( i prefer cold desserts. The caramel and semolina was pretty good though.
Unbelievable. Bossman Hesham is so attentive and is just amazing. David Tsirekas is just next level. Visiting on a Friday night - i was able to sample David's Hot meze nights menu and it did not disappoint one little bit. I highly recommend the Grandma's fries with the runny egg on top and the Beef short ribs.

Decided to venture to Summer Hill for a quiet Italian meal when I see a crackling beast on the spit outside Plunge no.46. Obviously I could walk no further and made a beeline for owner Hesham, who explained this was a pop-up venture by co-owner David, serving whole seasoned lamb on the spit with various vegetarian sides and a house dessert for $45pp.
The cafe usually serves breakfast and lunch with a Mediterranean influence and occasionally does Pop-ups at night during Spring/Summer when the boys want a change. Meats are usually lamb or goat with promises of pig to come.
Sides were considered and delightfully light which complemented the lamb beautifully. Highlights included rocket with sweet potato and fried corn kernels, watermelon with mint and pine nuts, and spinach pie. A large serving of lamb is also shaved straight from the carcass and paired with a warmed fluffy pita. Seconds are welcome if you're game.
Dessert was Greek Bougatsa, which is like a Galaktoboureko, with semolina custard in between layers of filo pastry. This variation had a hint of cinnamon and some blueberries. It was warm, oozy, sweet and just a perfect little parcel of goodness to end the night.
The owners are warm, friendly and know the locals well which was great to see. It made the whole night feel like a family affair and was loads of fun. After a long stressful week, this may just be your weekend cure.
Was lucky enough to dine at the Popup dinner at Plunge with David Tsirekas. Lamb on the spit Greek style with sides and dessert for great value $45. Unfortunately I don't eat lamb, but David and Hesham were very accommodating and made some chicken souvlaki for me. After travelling in Greece this summer it made me feel like I was back on the beaches of Santorini. The tarama was on point. Definitely worth a visit!

Summerhill is fronting well in the cool caf scene. If the cronut is the must have item to make it in the hip club then Plunge has it and the rest in spades. Cracking coffee - a strong jolt of cafination to be sure. Breakfast that hits all the high notes with eastern Mediterranean flair. The decor is designer minimalist cool and styled just right. Services is just as you want it. Wait staff with photographic memories and no order pads to be seen. Im here for the breaking of fast whenever I'm in Summerhill!
Nice decor, the service is very casual but attentive, the food is different from other cafes, they have a middle east touch !! the coffee was ok perhaps i will try one of their juice next time !
The menu looked so good and having a sweet tooth that day, I had trouble choosing between the french toast with sour cherries and mascarpone or the buttermilk pancakes with seasonal fruits (nectarines and strawberries), cream and maple syrup. That problem was solved when I finally decided on the french toast but they didn’t have any left :( so I had to go with the pancakes. They pancakes were soft and fluffy, though I think I would of rather the french toast. I will be back for them. :D

This was a random find on a Saturday lunchtime and we were really happy with our discovery. To begin with, the coffee was good and beautifully presented. It is a really clever menu, with something to suit everyone. I found it hard to choose between the crab fritter special and the Moroccan spiced smoked salmon salad, but as most salmon is non-sustainable I went with the crab. It was a fantastic choice!

Good But Expensive. They serve a good coffee at Plunge, but it's expensive. The service isn't bad, although lacks the earthy friendliness of other cafes in the area such as Decolata or Espresso Train.

Had valentines dinner here and rate it highly. Standard of food was as good as anywhere I have ever had. Service was attentive without being over the top and place had atmosphere and prices were quite reasonable. The owners need to be commended on their passion in getting it right. Highly recommended.

Something different in Summer Hill. New owners new menu, great vibe. Plunge has emerged as a great venue for an interesting meal - nicely presented and with knowledgeable and attentive staff who weren't over the top. Decor is simple and cool, with a relaxed but slightly retro feel.
Dinner was the slow roasted lamb shoulder was delicious - perfect serving size and nicely presented. The whole snapper was cooked perfectly, although presentation was not exciting. Flavours well balanced and very pleasing.
Dessert was a vanilla milk jelly which was a triumph of textures for me and a bread and butter pud for my dining partner, flavour was great, but the texture was a bit on the heavy side and the rhubarb ice cream could have been a little more fruity.
The menu is seasonal ( a great thing!) and limited in size so that making a decision about what to eat was relatively easy. Wine list is short but a good selection.
Overall a really enjoyable meal in very pleasant surroundings.
Home made honeycomb with the bill was a sweet touch to a bill over around $50 per head - nothing to complain about there.
Lunch menu is also imaginative and highly recommended!
Awesome!. I'll have to try it a couple more times (just to be sure) but I'm thinking this might just be my new favourite inner city cafe. The mandarin/lychee juice was fantastic, the mains were delicious (the falafels were a highlight) and healthy, i love that there is spelt toast on the menu and their chai tea is AMAZING (though I wouldn't complain if they added some freshly grated ginger). The staff were attractive and friendly and the decor simple and pleasant. I loved glancing over at the kitchen from my table to see relaxed looking staff and a bunch of cookbooks sitting up on the bench - very homely. Great experience, looking forward to going again.

The best big breakfast I've had in sydney. The dukkah coated roesti makes it really special. Nice coffee as well.
Great food and lovely service. The menu has kind of a Mediterranean-Middle Eastern feel. My friend had the zucchini fritters which were delicious; I had the falafel wrap which was pretty standard (the fries were spot-on though).
Prices very reasonable so good value.
Best of all, they’ve got a courtyard with umbrellas so you can sit outside - greatly appreciated in these covid times.
One of my favourite cafes in Sydney. Great coffee and food, especially the Mediterranean dishes. Favourites include the Shaksuka, chicken gyro wrap, fattoush and fish tacos. The owner is super nice also.
Solid Mediterranean at a fair price. Good choice in the Summer Hill strip. Enjoyed the shakshuka as a late lunch. Ordered the lamb skewers, which could do with more lamb than fries, but I'll let it slide. Great coffee too.

Incredible! Definitely recommend. Beautiful food, every single time! Great customer service and great ambience. I even made the mistake of forgetting to order almond milk in my chai and I was offered a free replacement with the right milk. So kind.

This place is always awesome, service is great and food never disappoints. Chef here is super creative and besides the regular menu, they always have something new and different to offer for limited time, although it's always keeping the line on the type of cuisine.
