From baba ( Malay for father) house to mama ( mother ) house
The change the name and yet still same staffs working.
I don't know why the reason for he change this business name, but anyway they still serve good food.
Sate Ayam ( chicken skewers) is my favorite dish.
Nasi lemak ( fragrant coconut rice ) also is one of my favorite here. It comes with side dishes, such as curry chicken ( or beef ), sambel egg and fried anchovies.
Taste reminds me having this dish back in Malaysia.
The new version of nasi lemak, they also put pineapple in "acar" ( pickle ) condiment.
Definitely got what I came for. I was in need of a Laksa in the city so thought I would try this place out at an early time slot. The service was quick, I got a prawn Laksa and it was great! Situated under the Grace Hotel I enjoyed the ambiance too. Nice little place
I love that this little place, in the style of a Hawker stall, is located inside the Grace Hotel, serving up delicious Malaysian food. A colleague, who was born in Indonesia and lived many years in Singapore (thus establishing his Southeast Asian credentials) recommended this place, though he lamented it’s only open for lunch on weekdays.
We came here for a quick lunch and it certainly was! Located in the Grace Hotel. It is now known as Mama Laksa House. Order and make payment at the counter, you're handed a number and go select a free table. The man serving at the counter was friendly. They accept payment by credit card too which is a bonus. Unfortunately it was quite busy and it took a bit but eventually got a table and the staff were quick to clear the table. They serve a variety of Malaysian cuisine.
We had the Rendang Lean Beef Curry Rice and Mee Siam Goreng. Both dishes had a slight spicy kick to them but not overly so. The beef was melt in the mouth and better than other rendangs I have had where the beef had been chewy. Nice flavour and enough sauce for the rice to absorb. The noodle dish was plentiful and delicious.
Now calls Mama Laksa House. I visited at lunch and this
place was absolutely packed with local corporates. The menu is simple Malaysian
style with all the classic dishes. I had the Mee Siam $12.50 and it was spicy
with a boiled egg which was a great surprise. You order at the counter and they
accept card. The place was full but a table came up quickly and it was cleaned
up by the staff straight after .. the food followed short after. I will definitely
visit again.
Nice Modern twist on traditional Vietnamese food with a decent wine Collection. Tapas selection very good indicator for your main meal. Quiet surroundings with great decor. Could not find the vietnamese spring rolls on the menu though.
Mademoiselle Mange A Sydney
+4.5
I love Laksa House. Ever since I had their boiled Hainanese Chicken – Hainan Kai fan – I knew I could never order anything else! Monsieur loves the breast, I always go for the thigh. I have the perfect other half for we never fight when it comes to sharing chicken!
This relatively unknown Malaysian eatery located in the gothic Grace Hotel is a welcome retreat from the hoards that frequent those dreaded busy food halls.
Mee Goreng. Best mee goreng I have tried so far in Sydney. Most other places are too sweet.
Simply delicious. To the idiot who just walked out demanding his money back and saying "This is not lemon grass chicken": It IS lemon grass chicken and it tastes out of this world!
Loser!!!!
