Review Babylon Rooftop - Sydney

Absolutely love this place! It’s one of the closest bars to my office so I’ve visited many many times. The house wine is delicious and even better when they’re on Happy Hour! I’ve eaten here a handful of times and everything I’ve tried has been beyond delicious with great, strong flavours. Pretty much every member of staff I have dealt with have been great and my friends and I enjoyed the live music last Saturday evening. Such a nice venue, even in the winter when sat close to the heaters!

We chose this venue for a work dinner and we were very happy with the meal. A modern twist of some middle eastern classic dishes whilst still maintaining the original spices, flavours and preparation techniques. Every dish was beautifully presented and delicious. We shared or the dishes which was the way to go. My only criticism was that restaurant was a bit cold and drafty. Service was ok but not very attentive given the price point.

The interior is well decorated and there's lots of seating. The hummus was phenomenal! The other dishes were pretty good but the knafeh was quite disappointing as there wasn't any cheese pull and the flavours were mediocre.

WOW. My daughter spoilt me with a dinner here before a show at the Theatre Royal in Sydney. This restaurant was beautiful. The service was fantastic and all staff that approached us were friendly and helpful. The food was next level. We both tried meals we never had before and we were very grateful of this. The smokiness and aromatic flavours were melt in the mouth moments. We then took the opportunity to have a drink afterwards out on the rooftop bar. Great vibe. Definitely a restaurant to dine at. Loved it.

Definitely one for a big group gathering! The food is made to share and packed with flavour. The service was good but also busy at the time we visited so felt a bit slow. Highlights on the menu include whole chicken with toum, halloumi and focaccia with their hummus and baba ganoush dips.

Solid food. Ironically dessert was the standout. Service was fairly inattentive (not even a hello upon arrival) but got better as the night went on. Note the restaurant is at the rear with no view, so if you’re happy with the bar menu probably more vibey out there.

Babylon is very nice place to catch up with friends. The food is tasty . Especially Lamb shoulder and green tomatoes salad. I will come back.

Lovely venue and good food with the bottomless brunch menu. Staff are unfriendly and rude and everyone there seems to have an attitude problem, including the managers. If you ask any question, it seems as though you have ruined their day and are a complete burden to them. Not sure what they think they're getting paid for? Would come again though for drinks and knowing to expect rude service as the venue and food are worth it.

Would give 3.5 if i could. Patchy service but nice ambiance - selected items were good (spiced cauliflower, lentil kofte, lamb shish and chicken pieces) but these were ordered based off of other reviews. Overall food experience was good.

Rating 3.5 A little hit & miss for us. Classy decor, rooftop of the Westfield, nice location. The service was bit patchy, and they got the order of broccolini mixed up & gave us cauliflower instead. The vegetables dishes were definitely highlights, both the cauliflower & the woodfire cabbage kebab were delicious. The octopus itself was not bad, but not sure about the mug bean & pomegranate combo. The lamb shoulder was a little disappointing, the chunk of lamb with the bone through definitely looked impressive. However the meat lacked seasoning through, the small amount of sauce for so much meat was not merely enough, and ended up being dried & bland. The desserts were ok, but not sure I loved any of them. There are much better Turkish food in Sydney, but perhaps not necessarily with as classy setting & convenient location.

Really liked their modern take on Turkish Cuisine with the foods both flavorful and coming out pretty quickly. The service was exceptional and polite

Babylon Rooftop is conveniently located in Westfield Sydney and it’s a huge restaurant with chic interiors of dusty pink and orange velvet.

On the night we went the service was slow and haphazard and disappointingly not very helpful.

The dishes we ordered were okay but nothing really stood out except for the heirloom tomato salad with Persian feta. It was delicious but it’s not a difficult dish. Even the desserts were so so.

Will I be back? I might give it another chance as I do love Turkish inspired food. #babylon

Service has a few rough patches but quite good. Meals are 2 to 3 times costlier than that of a quality Turkish or Lebanese restaurant but not 2 or 3 times better. Wine list excellent but very expensive. Beer list needs lots of improving. More local craft beer is needed instead of industrial imports.

Dined here this morning with a gf. I enquired via email 2-3 weeks ago to book for the $49 bottomless brunch. I was forwarded a form that I had to sign along with my credit card details, which in turn was sent back to me to sign on the back (had only signed on the front). Walk in today just before 11, a bit overcast but we were hopeful of a spot in the sun on the rooftop, and there isn’t anyone here. Speak to concierge and apparently I don’t have a booking despite scanning and emailing 2 PDFS just to get the booking. After finally being seated by confused staff in a cute little booth we are given wrist bands and a bottle of Prosecco and juice. Neither tasted cheap, we were pleasantly surprised. Not long after a flurry of mezze is presented to the table and 90% is (gladly) vegetarian. The eggplant salad and cauliflower were divine, but nothing is as good as the bread and smoked butter. For the price, the food and drink experience was wonderful. The service left a little to be desired but I think if I were to visit again in 6 months this would surely improve. At $49 a person for food and bottomless mimosa, this is a win. Live music also added to the ambiance.

Located on level 7 of Westfield Sydney (thus the rooftop location). It can be tricky to get up to but aim for level 5 food court and you will find signage to either catch a lift or escalators up there.

The service is friendly and helpful.

We decided to share the dishes amongst us. Started off with Hummus which was creamy and tasty. Accompanied by House Made Bread (which once ordered is replenished constantly). It is a nice bread but probably would’ve preferred a flat bread as got quite full from it. We then had Shish Tawook which were chicken skewers with tabbouleh, tomato, and yoghurt. Lovely dish. The Whole Wood Fired Chicken was succulent and went well with the toum, greens, and pickles. The Wood Fired Octopus was nice too. Came with a refreshing mungbean and pomegranate salad. The Kumpur, Sebago was a baked potato filled with a creamy sauce that contained kashar cheese and wood fired corn. It went well with the chicken but probably too much for us after the eating the aforementioned bread.

Great spot in the city for some upmarket Turkish food.

Amazing middle eastern influences. Average serving sizes for banquet deal. Nice wine choices. Excellent decor. Would come back.

I didn’t even know Westfield CBD had a seventh floor, but Lai Heng told me it’s new. Head Chef Arman Uz, from the restaurant Efendy, uses influences from Turkey, Cyprus, Israel, Lebanon and Egypt, presenting a menu of dishes to be shared, divided into vegetarian, meat, seafood and desserts.

Bit of a strange location on the very top floor (level 7) of the Westfield Sydney building. Once inside this 800 person capacity restaurant is split into 2 dining rooms, outdoor terrace (serving a condensed bar menu), indoor casual booths and a number of private dining rooms varying in sizes. The fit out is spectacular. Different marbles, leathers, timbers and luxe fabrics combine to create a thoroughly modern but warm and moody aesthetic. The food is Turkish/middle Eastern derived and presented beautifully. Everything I ate was beautiful, with dishes containing just the right amount of acidity without being overbearing. The smoked butter was a highlight. Prices are reasonable for a more upmarket restaurant. Our lunch was under $300 for 2 adults and 2 children including wine and Cocktails.

Amazing food, venue and service. Huge outdoor bar, perfect for drinks before dinner. Be sure to make a booking for the restaurant as they can fill up quick.

Two Words: Duck Pie. One of the best Mediterranean dining experiences in the CBD. The food is incredible - I’d highly recommend the Duck Pie and the 12 Hour Braised Lamb neck. Even the (Bottomless) bread and butter are on another level. Serving sizes are large enough to feed a group of 3-4 people. The restaurant is adjacent to the rooftop bar which overlooks Pitt St. The design of the entire precinct is beautifully executed with splashes of Mediterranean inspired design concepts against a background of soft pale hues. I would highly recommend checking this place out!

One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while.

The cauliflower is to die for and the duck egg and spinach is a really interesting dish. Desserts were of a very high standard.

Cocktail was also amongst my favourites ever.

The decor and vibe is great. This is a must visit!
