I love the fresh seafood from Fish Market but it’s always hard to find a places to sit and enjoy the food. Fisherman’s Wharf has fresh seafood from the Fish Market with confortable seating and air con.

I was invited to a banquet here so can't really comment on the price, and service may have been different from regular dining. But the food was a very high-quality with lots of fresh seafood which you would expect from the fish markets. Comments about the ambience of the outside are correct it does sometimes smell and is a working fishmarket so it's not the most pleasant, but the inside is very nice

Awesome yum Cha served here. Love coming here to get away from the chaos downstairs. People pushing, waiting for a table, ordering precooked seafood... not here. This yumcha is delicious. The prawn dumplings are awesome with nice chunky bits of fresh prawn. Noodles were tasty and our salt and pepper crab was steaming hot, full and yum. They have live tanks for ordering seafood too. Everything was a pleasure. This is mine and mums treat place. Love it when we come. Would have to be one of the best yum chat quality food places around.

My go to Cantonese seafood restaurant in Sydney. Its great for both Yum cha and dinner. They serve nicely cooked fresh seafood and BBQ dishes. I have tried many dishes and was never disappointed. The location is also very good, near the water and easy to park.

Do you know there is a yum cha restaurant above the Sydney Fish Market that serves fresh plump seafood dumplings? The dining area is spacious with plenty of seats overlooking the Wharf. The yum cha dishes are pretty decent. Service is quite friendly. A nice change compare to the hectic market scene downstairs.

The Sydney Fish Market is the place to be for fresh seafood and a decent snack. The top floor is occupied by the Fisherman’s Wharf, a yumcha restaurant serving up your typical dimsum dishes.

There is ample parking in front of the fish markets from $3 for the first hour. Dining in at Fisherman’s Wharf, you can get your parking ticket stud validated for free.

Yum Cha is one of those dining experiences that are not easy to blog about! The sheer amount of dishes you tend to get and the fast pace of the sessions could contribute to that.

Overall, the dishes were quite nice, with a good range of options throughout the session. They were all fresh and tasted great.

Ok back again today but was late and the mob had already started. BUT they did save me a duck pancake which was deleriously good, crispy, tangy and deliciously fatty.

Next best thing pork and sticky rice yum. Big serve of the best mix of pork and rice.

Also har gow yum but even better garlic prawn dumpling yum.

Pork belly was soooo good and crispy but soft too.

Great service too very efficent.

Ahhh but it all went to quick for me and on way out a prawn jumped outa the tank in a suicide mission and nearly fell over mmm hargow with no dumpling? Nup I put the poor bugger back in the tank. Sorry mate!

Went here this valentine's day. My partner doesnt like yum cha much but i managed to con her into it saying wed by fresh fish to cook tonight.

It was packed waiting to be seated is crazy long so i just stalked a table finishing and sat down.

Wish i hadnr deleted my photos after id put em in trip advisor.

Look we wete on the side which was dumb cause only one lady coming by but managed to flag a few down.

They could do with more variety here but the dumplings were good and the bbq pork was delicious my partner made me get another one lol could barely move.

The taro was a bit cold so a letdown and the gai lan oyster sauce was stringy and chewy.

Overall though i love the atmosphere and chaos next time which will be the 4th visit ill go early and get in the middle.

I decided as a young girl that I would never live near the beach because it stinks. The pungent sea breeze of rotting marine life does not tickle my fancy and the fact that I couldn't swim for my life doesn't help either. They say swimming is like bike riding, once you learn it you will never forget it because of 'muscle memory'. Well obviously my muscles never got that memo.

Anyhow, because of my dislike for anything fishy, and no thanks to a bout of gastroenteritis after one visit (that's another story), I seldom visit the Sydney Fish Markets. In fact, if it weren't for the Fisherman's wharf restaurant, I would probably never go.

Located above the busy markets, we can safely assume the seafood would be fresh enough to jump off the table. That would be an accurate assumption as every occasion I have dined here, I have not ended up looking like a giant blow fish. You see, I am allergic to bad fish, no seriously, I am. If the seafood is not fresh, my face will tell you and you better be prepared to answer to my wrath.

Not only are the seafoods fresh, but they are tasty, though on the pricier side of the spectrum. The chefs are consistent with their execution and portion vs weight seem to be fair. Service is efficient and a step up from most others, which is a breath of fresh air. The restaurant is well maintained and showcases grandeur in their large dining hall. There are also a select few private rooms for functions, and parking is free as long as you tell the intercom you dined at the restaurant.

I have heard great things about their Yum Cha too, but as it coincides with the hustle and bustle of the markets, I'm yet to convince myself to make the effort. Perhaps one day...

decent traditional yum cha at a reasonably cheap price at fisherman's wharf. Highly advised not to completely fill up just with yum cha, be sure to leave room for what's also downstairs. Otherwise walking would be difficult.

It was some time since I'd been to the fish markets and I was amazed at all the busyness downstairs. Walking into the main hall felt like I was back in Hong Kong, with tables full of families gathered around huge heaped plates of crab, noodles and assorted seafood. We headed upstairs to the relative calm of the yum cha restaurant, and were lucky enough to get one of the tables overlooking the water. There was a good selection of yum cha, and we particularly enjoyed the congee and the steamed dumplings - prawn and some sort of seafood and veggie mixture. They also did very tasty stuffed tofu and eggplant, and lovely fresh baked pork buns. The service was friendly and fast, all in all a good place to eat yum cha, where you can be assured of the freshness of the seafood dishes. If dining in a group, the platters of crab look a must.

Underrated Chinese restaurant that deserves recognition for good service and very well cooked seafood at reasonable prices. Golden century use to be my favourite place for Chinese seafood but this has easily been eclipsed by this restaurant. The pippis are just as good and the lobsters and crab are cooked to perfection. The service is always excellent and the seating comfortable. To top this off, you get a nice view of the water and parking is plentiful and free.

Fisherman’s Wharf is a Chinese seafood restaurant in the Sydney Fish Market, situated on the second floor of the main marketplace. If you can resist the luring of the glorious seafood outlets downstairs, the yum cha here is one of the best in Sydney.   —–HER{curio}MAJESTY SCORE SHEET —– Food : 8/10 || Ambiance : 8/10 || Service : 8/10. Will I come back : Yes. I especially like the light coming through the big windows on the side, overlooking the wharf. The overall interior design of the place is pretty high end and is suitable for hosting a big Chinese dinner party. Overall, the food here is more than decent, especially the dishes with seafood.

One of my favourite yum cha restaurants is the Fisherman's Wharf at the fish markets.  It's fantastic because of freshness of the seafood, bustling atmosphere and if you're lucky then you'll have a beautiful waterside view. I suggest you get there early so you can get a table without the queues and you will also have more choice in food before the crowds come. I had some of the yum cha favourites on this occasion including the duck which was had crispy skin. I normally don't order the duck because I don't like all the bones but the flesh was tasty and I do like the skin. The salt and pepper calamari was beautiful.  I loved the lightly crumbed salty but slightly peppery calamari. Delicious! I also stuck to my yum cha favourites of dumplings. My favourite is the garlic chive dumplings but I also ordered the side of scallop/prawn dumplings as well. A nice and well rounded yum cha experience.  It was all beautifully refreshing with some chrysanthemum tea.  It's nice with Jasmine tea too bu

There was a heavy leaning towards seafood (a given seeing as we were AT the fish markets) which had a few bloggers pleading for something that didn't contain prawns, but everything was fresh and really tasty. There was quite a large variety of Yum Cha on offer and something to suit everyone...even our gluten-free bloggers went home full and satisfied which I thought was great.

When I order my mango pudding, I always request for extra condensed milk on top but some people are weird and don't like it :( I guess they're good for photo taking though.

Good seafood dishes. I decided to try this restaurant on the second floor of the fish markets with my parents for the first time today. All the hustle and bustle of the markets were happening downstairs and in a way it was good to walk the stairs to a spacious restaurant that had airconditioning (hot day) and lots of tables available.

Staff spoke good English and were quick to accommodate all our requests. We ordered the dishes we know and tried a few new and my parents liked the fact their dishes were too salty. Their tripe and eggplant dishes were good along with the seafood dumplings. I noticed other tables ordering lobster and seafood from the tanks which I wouldn't have known about as there was no menu, but would consider that next time should i come here.

Prices slightly higher than the city but the food and quality was pretty good. Make sure to get your parking ticket validated when your paying the bill.

Nice view, comfort sittings. Dim Sim selections can be better improved.

Two hour parking free at Fish Market if dining at the restaurant. Just have to validate the ticket when paying for the bill.

Slightly more pricey than other Yumcha places but the view is worthwhile, great place for catch up with friends, especially tourist from overseas!

Ok, but the menu is not as wide as it should be - basically pedestrian and designed for the tourist market, ie nothing wrong but a bid tedious and bland. 3.1 out of 7

I've only been here for a dinner so I can't comment on how good the Yum Cha is. Dinner was about average though nothing spectacular. Service too was about average (as a Chinese restaurant - I say this because you don't expect the same standard of service in a traditional Chinese restaurant as you would from a western or fusion restaurant).

We don't bother going into Chinatown for yum cha anymore. Get your fish market parking validated at the restaurant or catch the light rail. Good quality yum cha with bonus freshly caught and cooked seafood options.

The yum cha is great, always walk out full for around $30 (Inc having oysters & duck pancakes). Make sure you call and put your name down, so when you get there if there is a wait you'll go to the top of the Q. They used to do a Chinese donut that was brilliant, but has now been taken off the menu unfortunately. The prawn dumplings are as good as anywhere, slightly smaller than normal, but you get 4 rather than 3 so more than makes up for it.

Had lunch here on the 19/02/2021 and the dishes were good. There was a small selection today but I presume that's because its a weekday and not a weekend. The steamed seafood dumpling assortments were great however the deep fried spring rolls were room temperature and not hot. The table and seating was clean and the customer service good. They also accept card with no surcharges which is a plus. I would recommend this place if you are looking for some good yum cha.

Solid four stars. Came for Friday lunchtime yum cha and all the usual hits are available on the carts. Prawn dumplings are great, steam dim sum solid and the greens are yummy. All the guidelines for covid are in place - socially distanced tables, QR code check in etc

This is a great and comfortable venue for entertaining. We had our whole family there tonight. The food was delicious as always. When the waiter found out that it was our son's birthday, he even brought out some jelly for the kid with a candle on top! Highly recommend this place for some really fresh seafood cooked in Chinese style.

Visited on Friday noon for lunch with work colleagues. At 2.30pm they were still serving dim sum, which we happily chose for appetisers. Mains were good portion for sharing. All the food are in general tasty & reasonably priced, considering the serving size & quality. On a separate occasion before this lunch, we came here for dinner & had the a fresh crab cooked on a bed of egg noodles with garlic, black bean & starchy gravy. It was unbearably bland, so recommend to stick with strong seasoning for whatever you order here.

Some of the best seafood in Sydney cooked Cantonese style. Had the sashimi lobster and the butter garlic Lobster with noodles which was delicious. Service was also top notch with staff always ensuring our glass was full. Overall had a great time at this restaurant.

This is a pretty cool restaurant, it has a great view overlooking Fisherman's Wharf, the service is good and the yum cha is good too, the ladies with the carts are pretty switched on and give you a good explanation of the dumplings and best of all it's very reasonably priced.

Fast service - not sure about the other reviews but the decor was fine for how old the building is. The food was yummy and they were pretty accommodating to vegetarians. We went at a quite time so there weren't many carts going around but I would go back. Sorry the pictures didn't get in before my friends. But I always love a messy yum cha table
