Had lunch here on the 19/02/2021 and the dishes were good. There was a small selection today but I presume that's because its a weekday and not a weekend. The steamed seafood dumpling assortments were great however the deep fried spring rolls were room temperature and not hot. The table and seating was clean and the customer service good. They also accept card with no surcharges which is a plus. I would recommend this place if you are looking for some good yum cha.

Solid four stars. Came for Friday lunchtime yum cha and all the usual hits are available on the carts. Prawn dumplings are great, steam dim sum solid and the greens are yummy.
All the guidelines for covid are in place - socially distanced tables, QR code check in etc

This is a great and comfortable venue for entertaining. We had our whole family there tonight. The food was delicious as always. When the waiter found out that it was our son's birthday, he even brought out some jelly for the kid with a candle on top! Highly recommend this place for some really fresh seafood cooked in Chinese style.

Do you know there is a yum cha restaurant above the Sydney Fish Market that serves fresh plump seafood dumplings? The dining area is spacious with plenty of seats overlooking the Wharf. The yum cha dishes are pretty decent. Service is quite friendly. A nice change compare to the hectic market scene downstairs.

Visited on Friday noon for lunch with work colleagues. At 2.30pm they were still serving dim sum, which we happily chose for appetisers. Mains were good portion for sharing. All the food are in general tasty & reasonably priced, considering the serving size & quality. On a separate occasion before this lunch, we came here for dinner & had the a fresh crab cooked on a bed of egg noodles with garlic, black bean & starchy gravy. It was unbearably bland, so recommend to stick with strong seasoning for whatever you order here.

Some of the best seafood in Sydney cooked Cantonese style. Had the sashimi lobster and the butter garlic Lobster with noodles which was delicious.
Service was also top notch with staff always ensuring our glass was full.
Overall had a great time at this restaurant.

This is a pretty cool restaurant, it has a great view overlooking Fisherman's Wharf, the service is good and the yum cha is good too, the ladies with the carts are pretty switched on and give you a good explanation of the dumplings and best of all it's very reasonably priced.

Fast service - not sure about the other reviews but the decor was fine for how old the building is. The food was yummy and they were pretty accommodating to vegetarians. We went at a quite time so there weren't many carts going around but I would go back. Sorry the pictures didn't get in before my friends. But I always love a messy yum cha table

Great service!<br/>

Came here for a function and it was alright. The staff were nice and brought out the food in good timing. The parking/validating the parking was confusing because the staff didn't do it BEFORE we left which caused confusion. Probably wouldn't come here again.

I love the fresh seafood from Fish Market but it’s always hard to find a places to sit and enjoy the food. Fisherman’s Wharf has fresh seafood from the Fish Market with confortable seating and air con.

If you want find the best place for yum cha and some ala carte menu, it’s the best place to get it, all seafood is fresh and good quality and also you can look some outside view from inside.
Chaltime
not the best chinese restaurant in sydney. But it was ok. the seafood was very fresh thats a plus. But the taste is a bit let down for me. with the price paid, i expected better taste.

I was invited to a banquet here so can't really comment on the price, and service may have been different from regular dining. But the food was a very high-quality with lots of fresh seafood which you would expect from the fish markets. Comments about the ambience of the outside are correct it does sometimes smell and is a working fishmarket so it's not the most pleasant, but the inside is very nice

Atrocious. What a swamp.<br/><br/>We arrive for yum cha on Sunday lunch. The entrance is dirty, overflowing with people, no one knows what's going on. We find a table, which at first blush looks stately, the large corner table at the far end of the restaurant. <br/><br/>We saw the same two trolleys, and no others, for the first 20mins. Even those ladies were embarrassed. Any one for prawn dumplings or siu mai? Siu mai anyone? prawn dumplings? where are the other trolleys? Ahh, that's right, we're gweilo's. <br/><br/>We go looking, most politely, for someone, anyone to serve us. "What you want" they bark. Soy sauce noodles? duck? bbq pork? spring rolls? pork buns? anything! they look like we're speaking a strange language... perhaps we are, but at the other end of the restaurant, there's plenty of trolleys, all serving something which looks like delicacies du jour. But without a hunting telescope, we can't see that far. Good lord. <br/><br/>When, eventually, they do arrive, it's over an hour. The food is utterly pedestrian. The duck was tough, the pork was overly salty, the spring rolls tasteless. What is this place?<br/><br/>Thinking we understand the 'system' of only asking the gentlemen for drinks will only get us so far, when there's NOT ONE guy on the floor. We ask for a diet coke. They scoff.<br/><br/>We leave. We're horrified. But the fun's not over yet. Even though it's Chinese new year, there's no fortune cookies, no good wishes, just a horrible goods lift down, floor covered with seafood slop/water/juice, smelling of hobo, the lift opening onto a back store room of crushed boxes, empty pallets. <br/><br/>Is this seriously what they do, how WE do yum cha at the fish markets? Is this truly a showcase to the world, which people wax lyrical about? Bugger me with a spoon... what have I missed?<br/><br/>This place should not be open. NEVER, EVER go to this place. We felt so uncomfortable, so not wanted, and were so neglected. The food is poor. The whole experience... nope. you can have it.
Lily The Frugal Foodie
We used to come here a lot for yum cha but the quality of the food has gone down and our most recent visit made us feel unexcited and not likely to return.<br/><br/>The good part about yum cha here is you can park in the fish market carpark and get your ticket validated when you get the bill. Then you could buy some delicious seafood after your lunch so that you can have a feast at home for dinner. <br/><br/><br/>As you see, we'd consider coming here more so out of convenience. Our family favorite for yum cha in Chinatown area still continues to be at The Eight.

Awesome yum Cha served here. Love coming here to get away from the chaos downstairs. People pushing, waiting for a table, ordering precooked seafood... not here. This yumcha is delicious. The prawn dumplings are awesome with nice chunky bits of fresh prawn. Noodles were tasty and our salt and pepper crab was steaming hot, full and yum. They have live tanks for ordering seafood too. Everything was a pleasure. This is mine and mums treat place. Love it when we come. Would have to be one of the best yum chat quality food places around.
Jen
Not bad yum cha - think it depends on how busy though- if quiet food sits in the trolley to long and not enough variety. <br/><br/> Guess that happens anywhere though<br/><br/>I rate mr Wong or queen chow for yum cha far far higher

My go to Cantonese seafood restaurant in Sydney. Its great for both Yum cha and dinner. They serve nicely cooked fresh seafood and BBQ dishes. I have tried many dishes and was never disappointed. The location is also very good, near the water and easy to park.

Been here with my family two months ago. It was an afternoon, and supposedly their yum cha session. We were after seafood so refused to take any dim sum and boy their crappy attitude was so memorable. However after we clarified our intention and ordered several fancy seafood (e.g. Emperor crab(?) and lobster) we saw a noticeable improvement in their service. We were satisfied with the quality of the food, and the bill came to $900 for a group of 5. A bit pricy huh.

The Sydney Fish Market is the place to be for fresh seafood and a decent snack. The top floor is occupied by the Fisherman’s Wharf, a yumcha restaurant serving up your typical dimsum dishes.<br/><br/>There is ample parking in front of the fish markets from $3 for the first hour. Dining in at Fisherman’s Wharf, you can get your parking ticket stud validated for free.<br/><br/>Yum Cha is one of those dining experiences that are not easy to blog about! The sheer amount of dishes you tend to get and the fast pace of the sessions could contribute to that. <br/><br/>Overall, the dishes were quite nice, with a good range of options throughout the session. They were all fresh and tasted great.<br/><br/>Check out the review of Fisherman's Wharf Seafood Restaurant in the blog post below.

Ok back again today but was late and the mob had already started. BUT they did save me a duck pancake which was deleriously good, crispy, tangy and deliciously fatty.<br/><br/>Next best thing pork and sticky rice yum. Big serve of the best mix of pork and rice.<br/><br/>Also har gow yum but even better garlic prawn dumpling yum.<br/><br/>Pork belly was soooo good and crispy but soft too.<br/><br/>Great service too very efficent.<br/><br/>Ahhh but it all went to quick for me and on way out a prawn jumped outa the tank in a suicide mission and nearly fell over mmm hargow with no dumpling? Nup I put the poor bugger back in the tank. Sorry mate!

I went here for dinner today and to be honest it was a mediocre experience. <br/><br/>First of all, the service was really disappointing and pretty much spoiled our dining experience. The restaurant was quite empty but the staff were so unenthusiastic and unwilling to serve us. This really frustrated me. <br/><br/>Luckily, the food was actually pretty good. It's pretty pricey ($380 for five people) but I have no serious objections as it was really delicious and fresh. The pipi's were extremely good!

Went here this valentine's day. My partner doesnt like yum cha much but i managed to con her into it saying wed by fresh fish to cook tonight.<br/><br/>It was packed waiting to be seated is crazy long so i just stalked a table finishing and sat down.<br/><br/>Wish i hadnr deleted my photos after id put em in trip advisor.<br/><br/>Look we wete on the side which was dumb cause only one lady coming by but managed to flag a few down.<br/><br/>They could do with more variety here but the dumplings were good and the bbq pork was delicious my partner made me get another one lol could barely move.<br/><br/>The taro was a bit cold so a letdown and the gai lan oyster sauce was stringy and chewy.<br/><br/>Overall though i love the atmosphere and chaos next time which will be the 4th visit ill go early and get in the middle.

Came here for dinner not so long ago. Service can be a bit incosistent throughout the night. Some waiters being very attentive, if you manage to get their attention. The others not so much. Food isn't the best I've had but not the worst either. Most food just seemed like it needed an extra oomph of flavour. There was perhaps a further 3 - 4 tables throughout this whole large restaurant at night. I have been here for yum cha where it gets pretty busy.

I decided as a young girl that I would never live near the beach because it stinks. The pungent sea breeze of rotting marine life does not tickle my fancy and the fact that I couldn't swim for my life doesn't help either. They say swimming is like bike riding, once you learn it you will never forget it because of 'muscle memory'. Well obviously my muscles never got that memo. <br/><br/>Anyhow, because of my dislike for anything fishy, and no thanks to a bout of gastroenteritis after one visit (that's another story), I seldom visit the Sydney Fish Markets. In fact, if it weren't for the Fisherman's wharf restaurant, I would probably never go. <br/><br/>Located above the busy markets, we can safely assume the seafood would be fresh enough to jump off the table. That would be an accurate assumption as every occasion I have dined here, I have not ended up looking like a giant blow fish. You see, I am allergic to bad fish, no seriously, I am. If the seafood is not fresh, my face will tell you and you better be prepared to answer to my wrath.<br/><br/>Not only are the seafoods fresh, but they are tasty, though on the pricier side of the spectrum. The chefs are consistent with their execution and portion vs weight seem to be fair. Service is efficient and a step up from most others, which is a breath of fresh air. The restaurant is well maintained and showcases grandeur in their large dining hall. There are also a select few private rooms for functions, and parking is free as long as you tell the intercom you dined at the restaurant. <br/><br/>I have heard great things about their Yum Cha too, but as it coincides with the hustle and bustle of the markets, I'm yet to convince myself to make the effort. Perhaps one day...

decent traditional yum cha at a reasonably cheap price at fisherman's wharf. Highly advised not to completely fill up just with yum cha, be sure to leave room for what's also downstairs. Otherwise walking would be difficult.

It was some time since I'd been to the fish markets and I was amazed at all the busyness downstairs. Walking into the main hall felt like I was back in Hong Kong, with tables full of families gathered around huge heaped plates of crab, noodles and assorted seafood. We headed upstairs to the relative calm of the yum cha restaurant, and were lucky enough to get one of the tables overlooking the water. There was a good selection of yum cha, and we particularly enjoyed the congee and the steamed dumplings - prawn and some sort of seafood and veggie mixture. They also did very tasty stuffed tofu and eggplant, and lovely fresh baked pork buns. The service was friendly and fast, all in all a good place to eat yum cha, where you can be assured of the freshness of the seafood dishes. If dining in a group, the platters of crab look a must.
Howardwashere
Underrated Chinese restaurant that deserves recognition for good service and very well cooked seafood at reasonable prices. Golden century use to be my favourite place for Chinese seafood but this has easily been eclipsed by this restaurant. The pippis are just as good and the lobsters and crab are cooked to perfection. The service is always excellent and the seating comfortable. To top this off, you get a nice view of the water and parking is plentiful and free.

April 30, 2015 / CBD , Pyrmont , Sydney , Sydney Food / 0 comment I know pretty much nothing about yum cha, except it’s food on carts that you choose when the servers come hurtling past. It turns out that “yum cha” is actually the Cantonese term for “drinking tea” and refers to the custom of eating tiny servings of different foods while sipping well-brewed Chinese tea. Yum cha fun for those who like a visual of their food before they order it, and also if you like to try lots of different bits and pieces for your meal. Yum cha is also an extremely good meal option if you have kids, which is how we found ourselves trying yum cha at Fisherman’s Wharf Seafood Restaurant, Pyrmont. We had a booking for 11am, which was lucky as even though it is a huge restaurant, it was absolutely packed at 11am (it opens at 10:30, which is when I took the photo as we were a bit early). The staff were efficient and friendly, showing us straight to our table and setting up the high chair immediately. Food started flying past on carts immediately, and our friends who yum cha more than we do did the choosing, and also helped me track down some vegetarian dishes. I managed to find vegetarian spring rolls, dumplings and soy noodles, plus some kind of greens dish.

Fisherman’s Wharf is a Chinese seafood restaurant in the Sydney Fish Market, situated on the second floor of the main marketplace. If you can resist the luring of the glorious seafood outlets downstairs, the yum cha here is one of the best in Sydney. —–HER{curio}MAJESTY SCORE SHEET —– Food : 8/10 || Ambiance : 8/10 || Service : 8/10. Will I come back : Yes. I especially like the light coming through the big windows on the side, overlooking the wharf. The overall interior design of the place is pretty high end and is suitable for hosting a big Chinese dinner party. Overall, the food here is more than decent, especially the dishes with seafood.

Seafood haven right here with stunning views! The most important point of all to start off with - you want to get here early . Not only are there less crowds in the morning, you get to choose the freshest noms first, pick a table outside with minimal sea gull poop (they're everywhere I tell you), and wait for that afternoon sunshine to kick in while you're down with your food, all set up nicely. Now watch everyone else rush by - hehe. Claudio's Seafood located in the parking lot is known to be one of the most popular stores at the Fish market; which is nice, you can pop straight in after parking your ride. Inside, it's covered in all sorts of seafood everywhere, anything you want from the ocean you will be able to find. Head on inside to the Market and on the left are the popular hot food stores. Think deep fried fish & chips, onion rings, calamari rings, grilled cheese lobsters, etc. Grab the Seafood platter for 2 if you like the sound of the above! 'Real' seafood eaters will tell you

What could be a more suitable locale for a yum cha restaurant than the wharf of a fish market? Seafood caught from our oceanic trough can be picked at before the hordes of Sydneysiders and tourists even arrive. This restaurant should have an advantage no other yum cha restaurant can match. As I fought my way through the fish-and-chips-handling crowd at the Sydney Fish Markets , my pork belly grumbled in search of salvation. We arrived at a short queue, a ticket was issued and we wait for our number to be called. There’s an uncaring efficiency about the queue handling, blink and you’ll miss your turn – and we did! Soon enough, a table was found and we were seated, at the end of the restaurant, as far away from the trolley-spewing kitchen as possible. Our table wasn’t so much ready as a carcass is for roasting, issued in haste, it had to be cleared just as frenetically – as a consolation they at least had Chrysanthemum tea . My fears about a trolley-drought was soon laid to rest when th

One of my favourite yum cha restaurants is the Fisherman's Wharf at the fish markets. It's fantastic because of freshness of the seafood, bustling atmosphere and if you're lucky then you'll have a beautiful waterside view. I suggest you get there early so you can get a table without the queues and you will also have more choice in food before the crowds come. I had some of the yum cha favourites on this occasion including the duck which was had crispy skin. I normally don't order the duck because I don't like all the bones but the flesh was tasty and I do like the skin. The salt and pepper calamari was beautiful. I loved the lightly crumbed salty but slightly peppery calamari. Delicious! I also stuck to my yum cha favourites of dumplings. My favourite is the garlic chive dumplings but I also ordered the side of scallop/prawn dumplings as well. A nice and well rounded yum cha experience. It was all beautifully refreshing with some chrysanthemum tea. It's nice with Jasmine tea too bu

Shui Mai and Prawn dumplings: the filling in the prawn dumplings was generous although the skin could have been more delicate. The shui mai was fairly middle of the road, although I had a gristly bit in one and only one had prawns. BBQ Pork steamed buns These were sweet and fluffy and perfect. BBQ Pork If you love the BBQ pork steamed buns, why not have a plate of BBQ Pork? I did! The pork was tender and even between two it wasn’t onerous to finish. Weird sugar and sesame buns These looked tasty in the bottom shelf of the cart. We tried. We had some regrets. The sugar crystal inside There was just too much sugar! The sesame seeds took the edge off a little. No fried goods appeared so this was the end… A definite downside of weekend yum cha (although we could have flagged down a waiter!) I was happy with

Sydney Fish markets !!!!! Very very popular place…never get a table anywhere…as my sister says, on the weekdays you fight for your food and table with the seagulls, and on the weekends you fight for your table with the Asian tourists!!! Nonetheless…it’s always a awesome place to go and have a nice seafood lunch, and bring some fresh fish home to cook for dinner… So much variety too! There’s a pretty good yum cha place upstairs- I went to a reception there once with fabulous food as well….then you have places to buy your sashimi, and oysters, grilled/fried/steamed seafood…and most of all..you can get crab there cooked for you with the sauce you want!!!! After your amazing meal, you can go to the deli and get some snacks… Perfect day out

What is your definite must-have when you have dim sum? Mine has gotta be EGG TARTS! The egg custard tasted like caramel in this, love!

Love it or loath it, SFM is truly a fascinating place where seafood lovers can feast their eyes on almost any imaginable seafood and vivid images of how they can be cooked at home. After all, Sydney is an amazing city for seafood. Where else can you get such fresh varieties of seafood at 7 am in the morning?
Insatiable Munchies
The food, well, it was ok, but not particularly exquisite.
MissPiggyEats
There was a heavy leaning towards seafood (a given seeing as we were AT the fish markets) which had a few bloggers pleading for something that didn't contain prawns, but everything was fresh and really tasty. There was quite a large variety of Yum Cha on offer and something to suit everyone...even our gluten-free bloggers went home full and satisfied which I thought was great.
Vivian - Vxdollface
they do have a glorious waterfront view plus lots of fresh seafood! Though the true essence of yum cha is enjoying the company of your diners :)

When I order my mango pudding, I always request for extra condensed milk on top but some people are weird and don't like it :( I guess they're good for photo taking though.

we made our way through a LOT of food, as we always do at yum cha.

I enjoyed the dim sum at Fisherman’s Wharf Seafood Restaurant and would happily eat there again (I will stay well away from those ghastly spare ribs).

The best yum cha in Sydney. I love this yum cha restaurant. The restaurant is clean, tidy & nice and light. The service is attentive & quick and no matter how busy it gets there are always enough carts going around. The seafood and prawn dumplings are my favourite as they are so fresh, fluffy & tasty. Much better then anywhere I have been in Ashfield & Chatswood.

Good seafood dishes. I decided to try this restaurant on the second floor of the fish markets with my parents for the first time today. All the hustle and bustle of the markets were happening downstairs and in a way it was good to walk the stairs to a spacious restaurant that had airconditioning (hot day) and lots of tables available. <br/><br/>Staff spoke good English and were quick to accommodate all our requests. We ordered the dishes we know and tried a few new and my parents liked the fact their dishes were too salty. Their tripe and eggplant dishes were good along with the seafood dumplings. I noticed other tables ordering lobster and seafood from the tanks which I wouldn't have known about as there was no menu, but would consider that next time should i come here.<br/><br/>Prices slightly higher than the city but the food and quality was pretty good. Make sure to get your parking ticket validated when your paying the bill.

Miserable Experience. If you are a masochist and want to leave hungry , I suggest you visit the Fishermans Wharf Seafood Restaurant at the Sydney Fish Markets <br/>Within moments of sitting at the table given to us by the staff , I was yelled at by the Maitre D to move as I was blocking a door.(in hindsight should have left immediately , but was looking forward to the Salt & Pepper mud crab, that we had enjoyed several times before)<br/>45 mins later the crab arrived - Ok at $65 per kilo , but nothing to rave about, and not on par with previous experiences<br/>Yum Cha & Ala Carte menu were available , and I requested a chinese broccoli (gai-lan) from a passing trolley, the waitress ignored me and walked off.<br/>20 mins later she returned (with no gai-lan) , and I requested again(she implied she did not speak English and did not understand), she nodded and walked off <br/>I requested gai-lan and snake beans again from the Maitre D and he wrote down on his order pad, we waited an additional 1/2 hour , but no food was received , despite seeing several Yum Cha trolleys in the distance with these dishes .<br/>After 1 hr 40mins of waiting and only receiving one dish that we had ordered , we could not get anyones attention to pay the bill, and had to go to the desk ourselves to pay.<br/>The only consistent thing about this restaurant was the rudeness of ALL staff .<br/>Left in disgust and enjoyed a lovely meal at the Superbowl Chinese reaturant in Chinatown, where staff were friendly, helpful, and the food was quick and excellent, and substantially less expensive.<br/>Will definitely not be returning to the Fishermans Wharf or recomending to anyone

YUM CHA. I used to really like the yum cha at Fisherman's Wharf, though after the weekends meal I'm not so sure about it now. The food was cold and Gluggy. They really need to do some work to get the standard back up there. Also the décor is getting tatty and run down. Fisherman's Wharf....you need to lift your game!
Sandrarouco1
Disgraceful!. This place is appalling. The management tried to charge us for food we didn't order, were rude, belligerent and sneaky. Aside from all this, the food was awful, tasteless and greasy; the dumplings all mushy. I vehemently do not recommend this place.

Nice view, comfort sittings. Dim Sim selections can be better improved. <br/><br/>Two hour parking free at Fish Market if dining at the restaurant. Just have to validate the ticket when paying for the bill.<br/><br/>Slightly more pricey than other Yumcha places but the view is worthwhile, great place for catch up with friends, especially tourist from overseas!

Great yum cha. This was the biggest yum cha restaurant that I've been to but the food came out regularly and was fresh and hot. Great range of yum cha and friendly staff.

Never set foot in this restaurant.. I took my wife there for lunch today, lured in by the large live seafood tanks. We stopped at the front desk and asked to see a menu, only to be met with a blank look... TWICE. We then asked for a table for two. We were sat down and promptly a yum cha cart rolled up, when the waiter said, "yum cha is finishing now, this is the last cart." <br/><br/>"We'd like to eat some seafood, can we see a menu please?" we said. A plate of prawn dumplings was put on our table from the cart and our card stamped. I pointed at the cart and said to my wife "Do you want to eat this?" "No," she said. "Can't we just have a menu PLEASE?" The cart-lady put the thing I happened to pointing at on our table and stamped our card. The waiter then said "Oh! You want a la carte!" "Yes!" we said. He brought the menu and then told us that the kitchen was closing in 5 minutes so we would have to "hurry up". <br/><br/>Why weren't we told this when we were at the front desk asking to see a menu?? <br/><br/>The waiter gave the single menu to my wife and instead of letting her read it, he and another waiter kept pushing her hand aside and quickly flipping the pages, saying things like, "You want noodle or fried rice? Here is noodle and fried rice. You want to eat soup? Here is soup." <br/><br/>"No, we want to eat seafood," she said, becoming visibly agitated. I took her hand and stood up saying, "We don't want to eat here." The two waiters stood there open-mouthed, pointing at the yum cha dishes on our table. I said "We didn't order those. I'm not paying for them." <br/><br/>I turned my back and walked out. <br/><br/>We will never go there again, and neither should you.
Sydneyguyrojoe
Not bad..... Heard of this place and went with a group of people, they had plenty of choices and everything i tried was good, especially there desserts which tasted extra sweet but i liked it!! The price was what i expected nowadays for yum cha and had nil issues with service. Worth a look

Ok, but the menu is not as wide as it should be - basically pedestrian and designed for the tourist market, ie nothing wrong but a bid tedious and bland. 3.1 out of 7

Appalling service!!. Being a Melbournian, I've always been fond of this place for yumcha during my not too infrequent visits to Sydney. Decided to try the place out for dinner and whilst the food was decent, the service was beyond appalling. <br/><br/>Asked the waiter for recommendations and were given two options "lobster or crab". When responded, "not looking for those today, could you recommend any other dishes" his face turned black and literally refused to provide any other recommendations. <br/><br/>Ordered multiple dishes which all came out to be of decent (not excellent) quality and with the approximate bill coming to $250 for 4 people. <br/><br/>The waiter gave us the strange silent treatment for our entire dinner duration only to speak to tell me that the EFTPOS machine is closed when I asked for the bill. I told him that I had planned on paying with a credit card and advance notice of this would have been appreciated. Again, the silent treatment began, so I had to go withdraw money to settle the bill. <br/><br/>There were no apologies for this and safe to say, I will not be returning ever to this restaurant where it seems when the most expensive recommendation isn't taken onboard, they refuse to acknowledge you as a customer.

TERRIBLE!!!. Generally, this place serves a decent Yum Cha.<br/>Price is slightly higher than most but generally it's ok.<br/><br/>HOWEVER...<br/><br/>I refuse to return due to my most recent experience.<br/>Booked a table for 10 people at 12:00 on Sunday as I knew it would be busy.<br/><br/>a 45 minute wait ensued.... Then our number was called but that was just the entree... We were taken to the table but to my surprise, the table was already seated with another party.<br/><br/>The waitress didn't seem to care and said something along the lines of sorry but please wait longer.<br/><br/>I complained to the manager and was basically given a response like, it's busy, either wait or leave.<br/><br/>So based on this, I recommend you do not take the risk of being treated so poorly and spend your hard earnt money elsewhere.
Funkyfood
Nice and Clean but you will have to pay for it.. This was my 3rd time visit for Yumcha at Fisherman and 1st visit for my cousin.<br/>We got there around 1pm so the place was fully packed but luckily we didn't have to wait too long to be sitted.<br/>Me and my cousin were pretty hungry so we ordered <br/>4 (special) and 2 (deluxe) dishes at one go as soon as we sat down. <br/>As a big fan of seafood, I got two prawn steamed dumplings plates and two scalop dumplings plates. The prawn dumplings were little bit dry when we ate. They were probably made a while ago while the scalop in the dumplings were well cooked-warm and tender. <br/>Fried dumplings with prawns (the ones with seasame) were too dry and not crispy enough which was a bit disappointing.<br/>We ordred vegetable steamed dumplings which were pretty good. <br/>The dish we liked the most was the wide rise wrapped with prawns with xo sause. They were very good. They were just melted in our mouth.<br/>The service was a bit slow as we had to wait quite a bit of time for our bill to come out but the place was still clean as the 1st time I visted here. <br/>We were looking for a dessert trolley for about 10 mins but we didnt' end up seeing one. <br/>The bill came to be around $56 for two big man. It wasn't cheap for lunch for two but we had a good time.

I've only been here for a dinner so I can't comment on how good the Yum Cha is. Dinner was about average though nothing spectacular. Service too was about average (as a Chinese restaurant - I say this because you don't expect the same standard of service in a traditional Chinese restaurant as you would from a western or fusion restaurant).
Ozallen
We don't bother going into Chinatown for yum cha anymore. Get your fish market parking validated at the restaurant or catch the light rail. Good quality yum cha with bonus freshly caught and cooked seafood options.

The yum cha is great, always walk out full for around $30 (Inc having oysters & duck pancakes). Make sure you call and put your name down, so when you get there if there is a wait you'll go to the top of the Q. They used to do a Chinese donut that was brilliant, but has now been taken off the menu unfortunately.
