This place has been running for 20+ years, service is top notch (towards locals and new diners)! The food stays true to Cantonese style of cooking without drowning everything in oil. It is literally the only place my elder mother will eat out at now because it is consistent and well done. The chili salt pepper tofu was cooked to perfection đđ

Disgusting food, Sarah was my waitress was very rude never had an experience in a restaurant in Sydney quite like had today if your thinking of eating here just donât waste of money there. When I go to pay I was charged $4 for extra tofu which I was not told about, I speak up and say I donât think $4 is fair and she threatens to call the cops and if I didnât pay the $4 then and she very rudely snatched the money out of my hand without my consent. If the owner is reading this please review the camera footage from 2pm-2:30pm 29/7/20 and have a good talk to Sarah her customer service skills are disgusting wasnât even offered water!

Horrible experience, food was worse than average and the staff were unpleasant, rude, hostile, and argue with customers by screaming. Visit if you enjoy getting verbally abused for ordering a meal less than $100!

Some years ago we went to this restaurant and loved the service and food. On our way back to Sydney from the Hunter today we stopped for a light lunch. It was a bad decision. Owners have apparently changed and it was a TRAIN WRECK. Waitress was rude. We should have walked out then. When we ordered our food we were told that there is a minimum charge per person!!! I have never heard of this before. They probably need this to survive as I cannot see anyone wanting a meal here. Eat here at your own risk. We will never set foot in here again.

I have regularly got takeaway from Noodle City for the past 10 years or more. It's great standard suburban Chinese food. They do a great Chow Mein, BBQ Pork and Soy Chicken. The quality is always good, you get lots of food in a serving and its tasty enough that there's never any left over. A bit pricier than some of the local Thai and Indian competitors is my only criticism.

The staff are good. Except for the hysterical and aggressive and rude restaurant owner. She is only very polite to people who buy food for like for over $100. The food was obviously microwaved. The food was good in quality and cheaper when the previous owner was in charge and she was much better in customer service than this present unrefined creature. Chatswoodâs Chinese restaurants, all of them, are far better both in customer service and quality of food. I know from experience and from several of my friends. I would strongly recommend NOT to go to this restaurant. Unless you want to pay like $100 or more or just get verbally abused.

Read the reviews, took a punt on takeaway because the fried noodle photo looked amazing.... Seriously.Very.Bad.Decision. Honestly would not have written a review if it wasn't for the fact that they ripped off my significant other by charging $18.50 for a vegetarian fried rice!!! Food was sloppy, tasteless and in such small portions, add insult to injury by charging $75 for 4 dishes!!! Obviously NOT looking for repeat business!!! It was a Sunday night with no one in sight..... and they said the takeaway menu prices were wrong. Buyer beware.

Standard of food has fallen since 2017 . I bought for take away , chicken black bean sauce , mongolian lamb, sweet and sour pork. All look same. A grey brown colour. All smelt same. But good size portions . They need new chef or better recipes.

$15 for roast duck with rice, it was the worst meal ever. A few bits of duck that had no meat but bones. The duck tasted a bit off, looked like it had been left there for a few days. Rice was dry and also tasted like left over.

The only question is: why are they still in catering business? Avoid it.

Worst meal I've had in a very long time. All food really gluggy and definitely over priced. Previous owner would be appalled! Won't be going back.

Just called to order food to take away on a Sunday evening around 7pm.
The female staff was unbelievably rude and literally was shouting on the phone...though she sounded very busy totally unacceptable and I was so upset that I had to hang up the phone. One very unhappy customer. That was certainly not the way to treat a customer! Won't ever call again.
Love this place, the roast duck and the grandma tofu are great but the chilli black bean ho-fun with beef is my personal fav and gives me a mouth orgasm every time. My gf and I have always received great service despite some of the other reviewers experiences. My tip for anyone who's a local and thinking about it would be strongly think about getting your food takeaway instead of eating in there, if you pick a restaurant based on the ambience and it's decor then this probably isn't the place for you, it's a proper Chinese place lol. Great food, reasonable prices and if you get takeaway they throw in a bag of prawn crackers.

I had the BBQ pork noodles. Good serving size and tasty. The gow gees were a bit bland and the meat was tough. The service was very average. I feel like we were neglected because there was a table of 10 who got all the service.

I am utterly appalled and disgusted in this restaurant's food and attitude. when I ate there I got chicken and soya sauce noodles and I was given chicken that was with bones and was bloody and pink in the center. I tried to get the waitresses' attention and was calling out "excuse me" for a long time but it was as if she was avoiding me. In the end I shouted really loudly and she came, I asked for it to be cooked again at the least and instead of apologizing she bluntly said "oh" and took it back to the kitchen. After a long time she brought back the food and I was disgusted to see that it was the same chicken just cooked again and my noodles were cold too. That is just extremely poor service and I was not offered a refund or discount or apologized to and I am never eating at Noodle City again. Even if it was just an accident the workers are rude and provide poor customer service. :(

Definitely not your average local Chinese restaurant. Top quality food both in house and takeaway. Love how you can see into the kitchen too. Makes it a fun place for kids

The menu here is your typical Cantonese stir fry noodles, noodle soup, Chinese BBQ etc. Not the cheapest nor the best you can get in Sydney but satisfactory if you are looking for a quick meal to fill you up.

What do say about a restaurant where you have dined dozens of times? My kids have grown-up eating at Noodle City. It is a place so familiar to me that I find it hard to be objective. Noodle City specialises in Cantonese noodle dishes as well as a variety of other familiar Chinese favourites. Every time we go there we have to have a Hainan Chicken and Rice or the Chilli Salt and Pepper Chicken (or both!).

I went to this restaurant for lunch today with my mum. It was a late lunch at around 2:30pm and we only ordered one noodle dish at $13.50. We were told that the minimum order was $10 per person and that we had to order more food or leave. Note that this was late in the afternoon and the restaurant was empty. After some discussion, we were told to leave for not meeting the $10 minimum per person.

Disgusting behaviour by a community restaurant. Completely unsuitable to be located in an area such as Gordon. Will never ever return.

The chicken in each of the dishes was outstandingly tender. The salt and pepper squid came with just the right amount of fire and just the right amount of crispiness without being oily. The dishes were NOT glutinous or floury like some Chinese food can be.

As soon as we sat down mugs (yes mugs!) of piping-hot tea were placed in front of us, perfect on a cold and windy night.

Do not go to the Noodlecity. They have terrible service and make up policies on the spot. I was going in there with my friend to have a snack. The waiter gave us 2 cups of tea and then we ordered a soup. The soup came and we looked at the menu and there was nothing else we wanted. The owner then came up to us and said there is a '$10 minimum order.. Per person'. I asked if there's signage somewhere to say that (incase I had missed it). He insisted that it is the policy, and I said there is no such thing as a policy without written notice. He said, 'NOW I say, this is the policy of my restaurant. If you're not happy then feel free to (indicating leave)'. So I left. The restaurant was empty. Throughout we were well mannered and kept very civil and my friend smiled, even decided to order another dim sim. But the owner said that's still only $14 total, so I did not take that as an option. We deserve better customer service than that. Never returning.

Kids well looked after. Really surprised by the earlier review. One of the reasons we come here is how well they look after our young kids - they welcome them with apple juice and always remember their favourite dishes. Go for the specials - and laksa is great on a cold night.

This place has the best duck soup noodles. I have always found the service to be good and attentive. Perfect for weekend lunch!

Minimum $10 Charge per Head. My family gets to eat at this place around every 6 to 8 weeks. Tonight, I brought them there for a quick bite. It was meant to be a late dinner for me, while my wife and daughter was looking for some snacks. The owner immediately reminded us that we should be ordering for a total of $30. She told us that it is a minimum charge to dine there. She reasoned that the place is small, that's why they have to cover that. I find it really ridiculous. She even mentioned that they want to have enough space for their regular customers. It was 8pm and the restaurant was NOT even half full. I argued that we are regular customers and she offered to waive the $10 per person minimum charge. We felt so annoyed and let her know that we won't eat anymore. WE WILL NEVER GO TO NOODLE CITY AGAIN. Disgusting service! They are also racist towards Asian families. Their smiles with Aussie families turns into a cold face when we (Asian) go there.

This restaurant is racist and discriminates kids! I am a Chinese mum with two toddlers and we were rejected by this restaurant tonight. The waitress refused to serve us and said they don't like to serve children that's why they never had high chairs for the 12 years that they opened! My poor boys were so hungry and we went to Golden Swallow around Gordon station instead and they were so good with kids!

A North Shore staple. This has long been a go-to place for me. Service is quick (don't expect to stay here for too long) and the green tea is complimentary. Food is cheap at $11.50 for a vegetarian laksa with the normal humongous laksa serving. And it's damn yummy.
Susan
Sad. If you only want soup for lunch don't bother. They have a minimum price

Cheap and cheerful - the original fast food! The decor is basic, very basic; plastic plates no table cloths. The is the perfect place to go with small children who can't wait and hate sitting. It is noisy and gets alot of take away customers. The food is great - fresh vibrant flavours straight out of the wok. You will be in and out in no time and it won't cost as much as Maccas!

Best chicken laksa in Sydney

Authentic Chinese Food. Small place, but great to pop in if you don't feel like cooking. Great BBQ meats and generous servings at good prices.
