Diner/ bar situated in Westfield Bondi Junction. The menu was typical diner food, fried, cheesy and burgers galore. The deep fried Mac and Cheese balls were amazing, so were the deep fried cheese sticks.
They offered fries with different toppings and I had the mushroom flavour, which oozed with a gravy sauce but made them extra tasty. The burgers were huge but the best was the dessert, Deep Fried Golden Gaytime Ice Cream. That was worth every bite. As you can see there was a lot of deep fried food, so make sure you go on a night that you can go all out and enjoy some good, fun food.
Got a $5 Wednesday burger!! So every Wednesday they have a special where if you buy a drink, you get a burger for $5. It's not just any burger on the menu - it's a specific burger. I'm not sure if it's a different burger every week, but I got the "Got The Shnitz" - Chicken Schnitty, cos lettuce, sliced tomato and melted cheese, topped with a deep fried dim sim. I bought a beer (Kosciuszko) for $8 and got that burger, $13 in total. Great deal! The burger tasted great and went really well with the beer. The only downfall (a massive one) was how long it took for the burger to come out after I ordered it. It took 25 minutes for the burger to come. Unfortunately I've been here before and the order was slow then too. I felt as thought the venue has a greater focus on the bar (drinks) aspect rather than the food. It is a bit of a shame that the focus isn't on both. If the burger came out in a timely manner, it would have been a 5 star rating and I would definitely dine here regularly with mates. Unfortunately the wait for food has consistently been slow (I've been at least 3 times) so I won't be back.
Delicious burgers and fries! Could not get enough of it, could have eaten two burgers with their fries. However the fries were slightly too greasy and the place could have better stronger lighting in the dining area.
Had visited this place a number of times and tried some of the burgers. I highly recommend the Southern Fried Chicken burger. Their chips are good. Always order it with your burgers. The burgers you receive will not look exactly as the picture posted in their social media. But hey, its $5 with a lot of conditions.
I had seen a lot of hype on social media about Goodtime Burgers and thought the photos looked mouth watering so I had to give it a try. Trust me I was not disappointed. Lets start with of course the burgers. We had the Royale with cheese as I loved the name it made me remember that scene in pulp fiction, hopefully others remember the scene. Anyway I thought a classic would be great to taste and I was not wrong, all the flavours worked well together and I thought the beef patty had a homely taste to it which was great. Then that special sauce oh man now that truly is a special sauce its so flavoursome with a zing and sweetness to it. The dish that won my palette over has to be that Mac and cheese balls, now this is the best creation so far I have tried. The Cheesy, saucy inside is well coated in a crispy crunchy outside. Then once you dip it into that outstanding special sauce it won over my taste buds with a delightful new combination. Tip add then bacon from the “Three little piggies loaded fries” to the bite, you won’t be disappointed it just took these balls above and beyond.

Got to know this hidden gem one hungry afternoon in Westfield Bondi. Initially I got no clue if it was good but the lunch promotion got me hooked. Ordered steak & beef burger (with the little ball of mac & cheese on top). The food quality is exceptionally good. The bartender told us that this place would be packed around dinner time. No surprise to me! Bookmarked!
I really enjoyed my Royale with cheese and the macaroni and cheese ball was a great little unexpected treat on top. It was also well-placed at just $13.00. New burger joint found!!
This is the wingman with chips as a side for an extra $3. The fries werent that amazing. But the chicken was fried nicely and has a spicy chicken wing sitting on top of the burger. The coleslaw was good with their own special sauce.
I must admit, GoodTimer Burgers has some amazingly tasty food. I have visited this fine establishment twice and have been pretty satisfied about the food quality.
First time I took my parents and we struggled finding the place, so please note that it is in Tower 1 of Bondi Junction's Westfield not far from Woolies(same level).
We all ordered ginormous burgers and almost didn't finish the chips. I found that the burgers are reasonably priced for Bondi dining.
HOWEVER, on my second visit I went to have a quick snack during my work break and I blindly spent $12 on a side of Southern Fried Chicken. A bit of a mistake.... as great as the quality was I think I only received maybe a thigh worth of chicken with two sauces. I honestly didn't feel like it was worth $12, so the lesson I have taken from GoodTime Burgers is to stick to the main food such as burgers, chips, etc.
Otherwise the service is awesome, the atmosphere is fun with their red booths, but be warned that it is quite noisy in the bar styled eatery.
A solid 5/5. The Goodtime burgers not only looked good, it's really yummy too!
My fave has got to be Lord of the Rings which is served with Beef Pattie, Double Cheese and Double Bacon. And topped with Hot Smokey BBQ Sauce, Crumbed Onion Rings, Dude Ranch Sauce. Just yum!
For side dishes, you can't go pass Pablo Escobar Loaded Fries and Three Little Piggies. They're really good you could eat it on it's own. Pablo Escobar Loaded Fries is basically loaded with goodness like Chilli Con Carne, Secret Herb n Spices, Chipotle Mayo & Cheese.
Three Little Piggies is delicious with Bacon, Chorizo, Salami, Maple Baconnaise & Cheese. Strictly bacon fans only, hehe

They don't lie about their name. It's always a good time when you visit this place. Largely due to their epic Mac n cheese balls. Oh the joy of breaking open those crispy morsels. The loaded fries are also pretty decent, and the royale burger has a perfect ratio of beef, cheese and sauce. Def worth a visit!
Underneath the eltopo bar and hotel in bondi, you will find Good Time Burgers sports bar and restaraunt. They embody the cheat day and cheat meal life with loads of fries, big burgers and endless toppings. Every week they have a special burger which they create for the one week only and every Wednesday they have a burger on special for just $5. We're not talking your McDonalds cheeseburger for that price, its a full size, fully loaded burger!
To keep up to date with what the current burger creation of the week is, follow them on Facebook. The staff are great and the bar always have live sports events if that's what you're after too.
We usually get some fries with our burgers and we often try to rotate it with the toppings, the three little piggies is definitely a mouthful and 1 between 3 is more than enough and the Chuck Norris AF Fries were insane. Moving on to Burgers The Good OL’ Time Burger is a classic with wagyu beef, cheese, crispy bacon, tomato, lettuce , pickles, chutney and roast garlic dijion aioli. The Double Royal is also insane with American cheese, pickles, Spanish onion and special sauce. However the one that stood out for us was the Lord of the Rings with a beef patty, double cheese, double bacon, hot smokey bbq sauce, crumbed onion rings and ranch sauce. This was insanely good and left us with all the feels.
Very pleased to hear that they opened up a joint in the Liverpool area & thought we'd pay them a visit!
It's a hidden gem, behind a motel, that has a cool casa vibe to it!
The burgers here are generous and delicious!
Our favourite was the Royale with Cheese - meat cooked very well & buns were soft as!
Make sure you get the maple bacon pimped fries & the Mac n cheese balls - you'll thank us later ;)
Solid selection of American style burgers and fries, the macaroni balls were a real highlight, decor is starting to look a little tired downstairs, but don't let that make up your mind, the food here is legit.
Delicious burgers!! Great value on discount nights, cool atmosphere and close to public transport! Great that chips come included with the burger $$$$
American style burgers are a craze - a delicious, mouthwatering and definitely soulfilling craze. I am happy to announce that I am a bandwagon-jumping, hand on my heart, pledged member of the American burger style food cohort. Obviously, I love this place. Sit me down in this dinner/sport style...
Visited this hipster magnet to see if their burgers were up to scratch. Fairly decent, the loaded fries were good too. Worth a return visit.
For a while I have been in search of a burger place with a menu that goes beyond the usual suspects of pulled pork, cheeseburgers etc. GoodTime Burgers is the place. I am trying to diet but these guys keep getting me! Every week they have a new burger which is only $5 on Wednesdays when you buy a drink, or $15 on Mondays and Fridays with chips and a beer from the Sydney Craft Brewery. We had the burger of the week last week which was a Mexican burger. I am often a little dubious of Mexican food as it can sometimes be either tasteless or really over the top. However this was delicious! To give you an idea, it had a jalapeño popper on top, lots of delicious cheesy sauces, cactus corn chips, pickled jalapeños and a beef patty. It was one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life! Yesterday I had the wingman burger which is a standard on their menu, and this was delicious too. Much more than just the standard fried chicken burger - it had depth and flavour and so much chicken!! The first time we went to GoodTime we ordered some of their loaded fries, and whilst they're delicious, it's just not possible to eat them AND the burger! I also appreciate that the buns are sweet, but not overly sweet. Not like a milk bun or a brioche which while I love, aren't for everything. Look at their Facebook and you'll see photos of the burgers, and the burger of the week. And yes, the burgers actually do look that good in real life.
So you're looking for a cheap feed on a Wednesday?
Also looking for something to fill you up, that's tasty and quick?
GoodTime Burgers is your place! What a burger! 5$ plus a drink gets you a killer burger from this location. Located in the shopping centre and in close proximity to the public transport. GoodTime burgers offers a nice burger bar in a pub. It's quick to order, staff are friendly and helpful and you get your meal quite quickly. Love the place.
Myself and my girlfriend Had the special burger of the week! It was super tasty. Although the meat was dry and there was no fresh elements on the burger. All in all rate this joint for a cheap and quick feed
Round 2 @goodtimeburgers saw me taking on their crazy idea for burger of the week- this week aptly called 'The Walker Texas Ranger'.
Beef patty, american cheese, BBQ pork belly, cactus salsa, hickory smoked onions, pickled jalapeños, Texas slaw, Cajun mayo and a jalapeño popper topper 🍔
Wow 😐 just....wow. I didnt know what to expect but this was amazing! The pork belly was soft and rendered perfectly. The salsa and slaw lifted the meatiness and that bit of Cajun spice 👌 defs a goodun guys. Well done!
The WINGMAN is EVERYTHING so delicious the Mac and Cheese Balls are to die for! Could eat every item on this menu! Really nice for a chilled vibe with friends! Staff all friendly and always welcomed with a smile! The $5 burgers are a great idea and takeaway available on FOODORA for lazy days! 5 stars from me!
Bondi and Bondi Junction have had a handful of new burger joints pop up recently with the newest one being GoodTime Bugers at The Eastern. They do a full range of burgers with beef being the cheapest option, and chips are extra at $3. The place totally reminds me of Cheekyburger, but with a more varied menu. I opted for the Good Ol' Time and slapped on an extra patty with cheese.
Double grass fed beef, cheese, tomato, lettuce, pickle, aioli, chutney
The first two bites of this burger were terrible, someone did not mix the seasoning and salt properly when they made the patties because it was like licking the salt flats of Bolivia. Thankfully, as I got through the burger the patties got way better and the juiciness and flavour started coming out of the medium rare beef. The burger comes out with a mac & cheese ball which wins points with me. The Brasserie Bread milk bun really doesn't look like much and I thought it would fall apart but it actually holds everything together and is soft without being too airy, even though it isn't toasted. The toppings are mostly an afterthought, the lettuce is wimpy and the chutney/aioli just alright. The cheese is good and the patties when properly seasoned do stand out.
Assuming you don't eat a mouthful of salt, this burger is pretty decent.
Beef: 4.0 (with saltiness it's a 1.5)
Bun: 3.8
Toppings: 3.7
Overall: 3.83/5
Goodtime Burgers, a funky little eatery located inside the Eastern Hotel in Westfield, Bondi Junction. The burgers are promised to be made with fresh quality meat and a whole lot of mouthwatering additions. The Wing Man $13. Southern fried buttermilk chicken with melted American cheese, porky pig bacon, kale slaw and Carolina Gold. I loved this burger and everything that was in it. The chicken was golden and crunchy and absolutely amazing with the smoky bacon.
Bianca: My definition of a good time is usually one that involves burgers, peanut butter and a low-key stalk of Brock O’Hurns Instagram page (thank me later)! Goodtime Burgers are one of four restaurants/bars housed in the Eastern, a multi-faceted venue offering 4 varying restaurants from American, Seasonal Australian to Mexican food.
Located inside the Eastern Hotel. The burgers are actually cooked well and the patties are soft and juicy. The Wingman burger suprised me ! The chicken was slightly sweet and cooked great. I highly recommend the double royale with cheese. Customer service is good and the food comes out fast. It gets really busy so make sure you get there early so you can grab a table.
Goodtime Burgers is a surprise burger venue in Sydney, with all the talk of burgers centring mainly around four major players in Sydney it is always an incredible feeling when you discover something else epic, I wouldn’t call it a hidden gem because it has a huge following of burg loving fans but I will call it a superb find for me, I am stoked that I can visit when in the Bondi area. Full review is up on the site.
GreatTimes - BetterBurgers !! Had such a blast here & can't wait to come back :) another re/incarnation from The Eastern - really amazing to see such a transformation - see you guys soon !!!
I loved everything about my visit to GoodTime Burgers. The staff were nice and friendly, the venue was welcoming and they played the best tunes. I tried the infamous Juicy Lucy and was not disappointed. The burger was massive! It was also insanely delicious. I would highly recommend checking this place out when you're in Bondi Junction.
You go up to the counter to order your drinks and food and they bring the food out to you. I had the Juicy Lucy with Bacon and Chunky Chips. The burger was juicy and of a good size. Some burgers I had previously were stingy on filling but not this one! Chips were fluffy on the inside and very crispy on the outside.
My husband and I had a late lunch and considering how busy the shopping centre was due to Xmas, this place was pretty quiet with only a few diners.
We sat in the booth and ordered the Juicy Lucy and the black sheep along with a side of chips and wines. I personally didn't mind the size of the burgers and I like the almond with the lamb in my burger. Gave it a good texture and I liked the flavour. My husband didn't mind his burger but the chips we had tasted like they recooked an old batch of chips as they didn't taste fresh and had a lingering aftertaste with the oil.
Staff were friendly but I don't think I will be rushing back anytime soon as there are many burger places to try in Sydney!
Had the lamb burger (the black sheep) and my partner the chicken burger (Bondi hot bird) and we were both really impressed! The coleslaw that comes in the burgers was a little different but I liked it. My partner was equally impressed. I love the decor in here and the TV in the fire place is hilarious! Prices are ok though the burger was a little smaller than I expected, food came out at a reasonable time, nil issues with service, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed
Took advantage of the Monday - Thursday specia lunch menu the other day... That means free chips and coleslaw with Good ol' time burger if you buy any drink (I chose coke as a real burger lover). All that for very reasonable $14.50.
Overall I had a good dining experience from start to finish ( friendly and helpful service, alright Coleslaw, good burger and very nice fries). There was nothing spectacular about this dish, but I would not feel quilty recommending this place to any of my friends.
When the drinks are infused with bacon and the meat is infused with beer, you know you’re settling in for a great night. The Eastern has just launched their ‘Levels Of It’ campaign, inviting you to create your own night of food, booze and entertainment in their four bars and diners.
FOOD TYPE
This is basically a pub and a burger joint rolled into one. But besides burgers, there a few other items on the menu like steak and schnitzel to give it a bit of variety.
FOOD QUALITY
Our burgers were fresh and tasty and neatly constructed so as to make them easy to eat without all the fillings squelching out. As accompaniments, we also ordered two serves of chips and a serve of coleslaw. No complaints about any of it EXCEPT that everything is served on awful TIN plates, of the kind you’d get in prison or in the army. Please guys, use standard crockery!
ATMOSPHERE
It’s never dull here, not in the evenings anyway. We dined on a Sun night and there was a decent crowd, the place was maybe about 60-70% full. The atmosphere is fun and lively, I guess that’s probably due to the pub crowd and the after-workers. But it’s never been disorderly or rowdy. The layout and décor is retro American diner style with posters on the wall, big TV screens and the centrepiece bar in the middle of the place.
SERVICE
Orders are placed at the bar counter and food is delivered to the table. This time, service was slow. It took maybe 20 mins for our food to arrive, so that’s just too long especially in this sort of fast turnover place where you don’t expect to wait more than 10 mins. Apart from the slowness though, the wait staff were friendly and polite. Being a Sun night though, there WASN’T the usual bevvy of pretty waitresses in their distinctive red tops and tight jeans. Pity! Try Fri night for that.
COMFORT
I love the big, comfy booth type seating with faux leather chairs and a large table that’s easily able to fit all the meals and the drinks as well.
TOILETS
Toilets are easy to find opposite the bar counter. They’re reasonably clean and well stocked if a bit dimly lit.
ACOUSTICS
Be aware that this place can get rather loud especially on a Fri or Sat night. The music is usually blaring full blast and what with stone floors and a wood and glass interior, there’s little to absorb the sound of screeching voices that may have had one too many to drink.
MENU
The menu is single laminated sheet, double-sided. It’s simply laid out and easy to read.
COST
With our Entertainment Book voucher (1 free burger with each one bought) we paid $52 for our food and that included four burgers, two serves of chips and a single serve of coleslaw. Throw in a couple of drinks and we came out at $75.
PARKING/ACCESS
Being at the Westfield Shopping Centre, there’s two hours free parking at the centre car park or it’s totally free if you get in after 7.00pm. Having said that though, parking can be difficult here at prime times although evenings are usually ok especially at the top.
MEMO
There a Happy Hour every day between 4-6pm, Mon to Fri. Check it all out on their website. And talking of their website, I notice that it’s now under the umbrella of the Eastern Hotel along with the El Topo Mex restaurant upstairs and something called Bondi Harvest.
SUMMARY
The burgers are DELICIOUS, so for that alone it’s worth going back. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed if a bit noisy. An ideal place for a cheap bite and a schooner.
RECOMMENDATION
Chips and slaw are the perfect complement to the burgers.
Came for the beers, stayed for the burgers. I was pleasantly satisfied by the fine service and ambience of this throwback burger bar. The burgers are truly reminiscent of the 'roadhouse' style, with stacks of meat on cheese and minimal salads on top. Everyone from the manager, to the waiters and security were fun and hospitable. I had fun.
Burger Project’s kicked off a “where’s a really good burger in Sydney” Race here on Jugernauts. Its not that we don’t already know that Chur burger is great or that Bonarche Burgers is criminally underrated. But its the other burger joints that’s on our radar. So does goodtime burger live up to its namesake? Fo sure. Great meaty flavoursome burgers, oozey cheese, nice $6 sides – the fat chips were great. Located in Bondi Junction and under the Eastern (on ground floor) Goodtime burgers is an almost americana diner with colourful splashes of colour and cheeky bylines. They got into some grief a bit back over their advertising (fun between the buns), but its cheeky fun and the venue reflects that. (Clockwise) Mac and Cheese, Fat Fries, Double Trouble and a Juicy Lucy Juicy Lucy – Wagyu pattie stuffed with Mozzarella & Australian cheddar. Garnished with tomato chutney, coral lettuce, sliced tomato, Spanish onion and aioli. This was a fat patty and we kind of forgot that it was stuffed with cheese – there’s a shot below that shows the cheese oozing out as we shared the burgers. Incredible. Double Trouble - Double a Wagyu beef pattie with double Australian cheddar, garnished with coral lettuce, sliced tomato, tomato chutney and aioli. quite a classic burger. Delicious and the double aussie cheddar (which isn’t that american cheese orange) was bountiful and oozy. Meaty. Great eating double patty which was still medium. Left (double trouble) Right (Juicy Lucy) – you can see the cheese go everywhere. Its incredibly moist. Buns which we thought was hard and big, was actually soft and compacted down nicely. Mac and cheese They have a burger challenge here. Do you like big buns? We gotta say, we really enjoyed the burgers here. When they arrived, thought the buns looked terrible – way too big and looked like crusty bread rolls – so imagine the surprise when handling them that they were soft and abundant. Great burgers. We liked Goodtimes’ Big Buns and we cannot lie. LINKS h
Great burgers! Juicy Lucy & 34DD had great flavours & very filling.
Really Great Burgers Indeed. Loved the burgers here! Really taste, friendly staff and awesome hot chips too. Also one of the best arrays of beers I've seen in sydney. Well done
Goodtime Burgers - Juicy Lucy
Goodtime Burgers is a new funky bar come diner on the ground floor of the Eastern, part of Westfield in Bondi Junction. The Juicy Lucy is a burger I’ve seen on a number of food shows and I’ve always wanted to try it. What sets this burger apart from your typical cheeseburger is the fact that the cheese is inside the meat pattie, this version being a Tajima Wagyu beef pattie stuffed with Woodside brie and cheddar. Sounds good!
The burger is massive and this is the part where a little Health Warning could have come in handy. There was no way I could eat this behemoth burger whole so I thought I’d cut it in half. Upon slicing into the delicious meat pattie, a piping hot mixture of cheese and meat juices squirted out all over my top and jeans! I count myself lucky that it was only my clothes that copped the spray rather than my face...my beautiful face.
After returning to my meal from a quick wash down in the Men’s room, I completed the dissection and dove right in. My burger experience went up hill from then on. Their exclusively baked buns are one of the heroes of the burger, firm enough to hold what amounts to a tone of fillings, yet soft enough to chew. The tomato chutney has a slight spiciness to it which really balances out the creamy aioli. The burger was saucy enough so that every delicious bite went down with ease.
The Juicy Lucy is great value too. I couldn’t finish my meal, not even the cider on tap could help wash down all that burger, maybe next time I’ll go back with a bigger appetite.
Overall a damn tasty burger and I’m looking forward to going back and trying some of the others on the menu, like the 34DD.
One of the tastiest burgers I've ever had, didn't disappoint with the size of it either (had the Double Trouble) and the wasabi mayo was tremendous. Quick turnaround time for the order, although the service was a bit meh - will definitely return though!
Amazing diner atmosphere. The ambiance of this place is great! We loved all the prints on the walls and tables.
We had the good ol time and firebird... Was not dissapointed! Burgers were amazing. The chips were fantastic and so was their selection of sauces! Try the liquid cheese, sounds nasty but is o-so-good.
OMG. Went here the day after it opened. Amazing burger! I had the double trouble. Better than Churburger. Better than Grill'd. Staff were rubbish.they seemed shocked that I wanted to break up their chat to get a feed. Not to worry I went there for the food and it didn't disappoint!
