Kusuka cafe is one of the cafe I would say the most instagrammable cafe in Sydney! An Asian fusion cafe making their dishes looking so cute but delicious!
Been in quite a few times and is always amazing. The staff are friendly and quick to attend to you. The food is plated nicely and tastes good too. The food here is mild spicy to spicy. The migoreng and super bowl is delicious (but I can't handle too spicy) but I still like it. Pink latte, red latte, genesis (purple sparkling) drink and eve (pink sparkling) drink are the best.
Would highly recommend and would come back.
I have ordered a green milk tea iced and the Mee fried chicken on the go. I had ready enjoyed the milk tea and it was the perfect level of sweetness (just make sure you give it a shake before you drink it). The fried chicken was A1, however the noodles were very dry.
The staff was very friendly and the establishment felt very homey. However due to the small size of the establishment I would not recommend bringing a large crowd. However it is great for a date or bringing a few friends along.
I would definitely highly recommend. Also I would recommend using Zomato Gold as it makes payment quicker and you get a nifty little discount.
The place is quite small and not ideally for groups.
The “All I Want” Christmas drink is super adorable, though I think it is a little overpriced for a red velvet latte with whipped creams and snowman marshmallows but it is super adorable though!!
The Kopi pancakes was really sweet, you wouldn’t need the maple syrup that comes with it, and the pancakes is quite sticky and chewy, it’s more like sticky dates puddings than a pancakes, but not bad.
Would love to be back to try other savoury options in the future. Staff was really helpful and nice, if you’re looking for good service then this is the place. But be mindful that there’s only 2 staff behind bar (not counting kitchen) so would be a little wait but will be worth it because they try their best to put out super adorable and tasty at the same time drinks :)
A nice little instagrammable cafe located on Sussex Street. It has online bookings and up to date menu on their website. I was very pleased with the friendly attitudes of the staff and the Asian inspired dishes that they present in a unique and photogenic way. Their drinks are one of a kind and are certainly one of the selling points of this cafe! The dishes in themselves are quiet simple (indomie and classic congee) but Kusuka manages to bring such complexity into these already simple yet tasty products. I loved the cute lil bears on the Crispy Rendang and Congee; however, it does not have any particular taste and is more focused on the visual aspect. Also, they do not provide table service meaning you will need to order the food at counter which may not be preferable for many. Overall, a cozy cafe perfect for instagrammable foodie pics and indomie noodle lovers. :)

One of my favourite cafes in the CBD! Kusuka not only serves absolutely stunning and creative dishes, but they’re also very delicious and flavourful. They do a really good job incorporating the Indo-fusion as we could taste all the Indonesian flavours, especially in the Spicy Hangry bowl. It was actually my favourite dish! I also really liked the pancakes and their oat milk latte.
Kusuka is arguably one of the best cafes in the Sydney CBD. They consistently provide exceptional quality dishes, packing an abundance of Indonesian inspired flavours and looking simply delightful. The food is reasonably priced for the quality you get. Staff are always welcoming and attentive. They also have exceptional coffee! Highly recommend adding Kusuka to your 'must visit' list of Sydney cafes.
Kusuka café is an Indonesian fusion café, located in Haymarket, Sydney. On this particular Saturday, my foodie friend Annie from @Therandomfoodie invited me to join her at Kusuka Cafe on Sussex st. Kusuka cafe is a Modern Indonesian venue that is known for fancy mi-goreng. It's a relative small venue that's quite busy so we come at 2pm for a late lunch. There's people flowing in and out of the cafe for coffees.
I went there for brunch and was very impressed, just like the last time I dined at their original location.
Their dishes are always beautifully plated and the flavours are amazing!

Krispy Rendang with Bear (almost too cute to eat!)
Spicy Hangry Bowl (love every element in the bowl. And those chilli, can’t get enuff of it!)
Yum Kwetiau (not your ordinary kwetiau. Try it and you’ll see what I mean).
For the drinks I really love their Wondermelon and the coffee is amazing too.

With gauzy white curtains and a warm golden glow, Kasuka certainly has an inviting vibe on a miserable wet winter evening. It’s open late for a café, but it makes more sense when you discover it’s modelled on a warung kopi – a humble cafe or coffee shop that sells coffee and snacks in Indonesia. While Kasuka certainly isn’t the first Asian fusion café to emerge in Sydney, it was likely our first Indonesian fusion café, back when owners Mario and his Indonesian wife Liz, opened their initial Haymarket store two years earlier. I loved this delicious #indonesian fusion lunch yesterday and I was blown away at their culinary angle.
A super creative menu that pairs classic dishes with modern techniques and flavours.

Fried chicken + chilli marsh, spicy mayo, mushroom, hash brow + chilli taichan, with my goreng.
It was the best Mi Goreng I’ve had in my existence as a human being.
Imagine a perfect Mi Goreng with the juiciest, crunchiest fried chicken on top and a selection of yummy chilli.

Café had a serene ambience and staff was friendly. The #mightynest was filling and was reminescent of a great indonesian dish with a modern twist. However, the price was unfortunately not justified, especially the #migoreng which lacked flavour. Perhaps enhancing the use of spice and the use of more unique ingredients could aid this. Otherwise, it was great :)
Creative food combination and tasty! A bit overpriced for Indomie, but drinks are cute and amazing. Food plating and presentation are really pretty. Would definitely come back for the latte and snacks.
The memory of its Mi Goreng super bowl from last year was still vivid; when we returned to Kusuka for its new winter menu, the new location on Sussex Street was a transformation and step up from its old site. Looking pass the super bowl this time, we took owner Mario’s recommendation and started with truffle congee. The humble rice dish was given a decedent twist and the aroma from truffle was incredible. I didn’t think I had ever enjoyed congee this much and finished it in no time.

Let’s get down to business. Kusuka is one of the best cafes in Sydney I’ve ever visited. They not only are exuberant with their aesthetic style but this magnificence also to the flavour of their dishes and their customer service.

While a full Western-style coffee menu exists, Indo-style kopi susu is present and I’m here for it.

Krispy Chicken Rendang made into a bear with tasty Fried chicken, hash brown, rice serve with a delicious homemade rendang. The winner for me was the omelette which served as a very beautiful blanket for our yummy bear.

Avocado toast - not your ordinary eggs in avocado toast. The addiction of seasoned corn and paper-thin cucumber really lifted the freshness of the dish to the next level.

Genesis- ahhh the galaxy drink. Transports you back to your childhood with the swirling of a sparking whirlwind right there in front of your eyes.

The Kopi Pancake. Served with the most delicious palm sugar syrup, three peanut butter and coffee infused pancakes, topped with ice-cream, and Oreo crumbs to create the perfect balance of flavours.

Oat Latte - I’m not one to usually steer away from my strong cap but I made an expectation to try the Oat Latte. The beautiful blend the signature Kusuka coffee blend, intertwining with the creamy, one @oatly was perfect. Also, the bear latte art didn’t hurt.

Wondermelon drink not only looked incredible but came with the prettiest of cakes on top it.
Went here in Feb. We had the Superbowl and Lychee Calamansi House Soda. The superbowl was delicious and generous portion, and we liked the different variety of toppings. We like the soda as it has refreshing touch from the calamansi citrus flavour, was great for hot summer!

The ambience of this place is one of the cutest I've come across in Sydney. When it comes to drinks, they've some unique ones and definitely worth a try! The food here is amazing as well. Would definitely recommend this place for a cute breakfast moment or a quick evening catch up with friends.

One of my favourite places in Sydney. Awesome feed, interesting drinks and great service. Mee goreng is delicious and the drinks are both aesthetic and refreshing. Highly recommended.
The pork belly here is to die for the the flavours of the juicy pork belly coupled with the spicy flavours of the mi goreng were just divine. The service was great and would definitely recommend interested in a fusion of Indonesian food.

Had the Galaxy drink and the signature Super Bowl, liked both! The drink needed a good shake before drink and the glitter was a bit subtle than I expected. Tasted like plum juice with a fresh end. Not too sweet which was great. The Super Bowl was filling, a bit salty, and I personally felt it was too big a portion but quite yum. The only thing- this lunch was more than $30 which wouldn’t allow me to visit everyday.
A small place with nicely constructed dishes. Most of them use a migoreng base. Loved the spices in the migoreng and it didn’t taste like they just got the instant packaged ones. A tad expensive, the campfire was $22 but otherwise delicious and filling.
Quaint little cafe that's perfect for the gram. Had the Wondermelon and Coffeevocado for drinks and Hurricane (corned beef mi goreng) and Superstar (pork belly on toast) for food. A little pricey but all so beautiful and delicious. The meals are all a fusion of something and they played with creativity a lot. Would definitely come back to try the rest!
The customer service and booking confirmation was super quick and on point. The food portions were decent for the set price. Would recommend the Kopi Pancake as our fave dish for our first visit. On the downside, my friend and I came on a hot day and felt very hot and sweaty inside. We noticed that the air conditioner was on minimal level and did not reach out to us.

If rose petals and glitter sound like your cup of tea, then look no further. Strongly recommended for a girly brunch / lunch / arvo tea or if your partner likes feeling pretty, a perfect dinner date.

$17 Mighty Nest - fried egg and deep fried chicken on a bed of rice corn and crispy noodles. The crispy noodles added a nice crunch to the Mighty Nest with rose petals to keep it delicate.
$20 Superbowl - cucumber beef sausage crispy pork belly corn and melted cheese top a bowl of egg noodles. Very filling.
$12 Genesis - grape and melon in sparkling swirls. Eye candy you (almost) can’t bear to sip at.
A bit pricey, so save it for when you’re feeling like a little extra. The servings are on the bigger side and the food is not only gorgeous but quite tasty.
The popularity of this cafe far outweighs the actual size of the cafe, which ensures a waiting list for table at most times. I was super lucky to get a table straight away for a late lunch on a super hot day (people after me had at least a 15 mins wait). The menu is an interesting mix of Indonesian fusion, both sweet & savoury. I got the campfire, and it look just like one. It was a ginormous bowl with lots of fries, lots of corn kernels, lots of beef & bacon bits, plus lots & lots of rice and mi goreng. Everything seems to just gel together, very tasty. The problem is that it's just too big to finish on your own.
First, understand this is not a classic Asian eatery
But it's big fun in its quiet way. And caters for vegetarians too.

It's an art cafe - some Asian fusion dishes including some based on hawker and fast home cooking with cool drinks and mocktails.
Mains have varying degrees of Asian influence from almost none to about half but the palate iss a broader world.
We liked it a lot.
So much care and thought put into their dishes! Tried some of their classics and made it just in time for their Christmas dessert range! Indonesian fusion food had a good amount of spices and oozy egg. Desserts well balanced and not too decadent/sweet, but so amazed by how theyve crafted the theatrics, flavour and textures of their desserts! Beware though - limited seating so get in quick!
The food portions were very large and quite suitable to the price... especially since the quality was good as well. The service was fast and attentive, and the overall environment was rlly good! Got the campfire and superbowl which were very similar admittedly but the noodles were flavourful and tasty either way. Would recommend asking for the hot sauce put on the side otherwise the spice is just a little too much.
I love Kusuka and the style of food they offer, and being such a cute and clean cafe. I’m a huge sucker for migoreng and with all of the additions to these amazing super bowls they make, it makes for a heck of a delicious meal. I loved my Superbowl, especially with the chilli that they give to go with the dish.
We also ordered a few drinks which were lovely and very nice to have on a warm day. The only downside is that I could honestly eat another one of those bowls! It’s so delicious that I just want more of the flavour in my mouth even if I’m full! Overall a fantastic cafe with friendly staff, good food and very nice atmosphere. Worth it!
My most favourite place for dry noodles. Everything just done right with each ingredient on the dish matching the noodle dish. From corned beef, corn, chicken, sausages, beef, or pork theyve combined them to make some tasty dishes.
Their chilli taichan is the best. Recommend grabbing two if your a spice head cos it goes perfect with the noodle dishes.
Drinks menu is very unique. They make some of the most eye catching drinks but havent forgotten about the flavors. Im an avo lover and their coffevocado is satisfying. Sweet coffee and avocado, who knew this would work so well.

There is so much love for Kusuka on Insta and on Zomato and it’s not hard to see why. Food is outstanding. The superbowl was delicious and spicy. The sauce in the V Burger was seriously addicting and the shoestring fries were next level. Milo Kopi was very milky (not to my taste but my friend loved it). Genesis is the show stopper here with beautiful colours mixed in one drink and it literally sparkled. Redspresso was definitely something different. You can really taste the coffee through the red velvet flavouring. It was also smooth, creamy and frothy. Love love love!
New Christmas menu. In love with the snowman creations. The drink is mint and coconut and makes it very refreshing. The choc cookie is delicious
Good quality smooth coffee, however it can be on the sweeter and milky side. Brekkie rolls are also pretty good, well worth a go. Consistent product.
Come here regularly. Great food and amazing service. Definitely feel like home coming in here. The "superbowl" is unreal!!! They do a great coffee too. Highly recommended.

Im surprised that it took me this long to review this cafe! An Indonesian Cafe famed for their mega Mi Goreng bowls has opened up another store with more of a fancy side, from colourful drinks to pretty food this place is an Instagram paradise.
Love the Mega Mi Goreng bowls as always, their hotcakes, 3 guys (loaded fries), not a eggs benny and the party rolls. Each Item taste so good and also looks good too.... a must visit if you are ever in the area.

Super cute interior and it has that warm and cozy feel to it! Staff their were really nice and helpful. The food is definetly pretty and tastes as good. The Genesis drink was refreshing after the first sip then it left a weird grape sparkling water taste. All in all great experience!!

Alex visited their Haymarket location late last year, mainly for those very Instagrammable galaxy drinks. They’ve recently opened their second store on Sussex street, we visited mid-morning on a Saturday, for a rather different Pan Asian brunch.
This is a really nice Indonesian cafe and I am really happy that it stays open for dinner! The Krispy Rendang (the chicken is very crispy and the sauce is so good) and the Superbowl (migoreng with pork belly) are my favourites. The Campfire (beef bowl) is also quite good but very indulgent especially with the fries on top. For sides, I recommend the martabak with chilli and cheese which was really yummy as well!
The drinks are also really pretty and I tried the Genesis drink which was the swirly sparkly one. The actually tasted quite nice and I quite liked the grape and melon flavour. Service was great and store itself is very pretty. I definitely will be back to eat here again!

The fancy mi goreng dishes, enticed me to try. But it’s more than. Me and my partner got a Super Bowl, and Spicy hangry bowl to eat for dinner. Let me tell you, these were both filling and satisfying. Everything in those dishes just worked together. Corned beef in mi goreng was just ingenious! And the spicy bowl had a kick, thanks to the chilli matah! Definitely recommend if you’re hungry and like chilli. We also got an apple and pomegranate Soda, which was sweet and slightly bubbly.
Fiending for a late night coffee and dessert? This place also hits that spot. Specialty hot drinks such as their red velvet latte, as well as normal milk coffees like their lattes. Were both done well, looked aesthetically pleasing as well as tasted great. Their pandan cake was light and fluffy, should have got two slices hehe.
Highly recommend this cafe, hits all the right notes for what a cafe should be. Pricing is definitely worth it!!
Ordered mee fried goreng, i request for extra cheese. They put the cheese on top of the chicken and i got sambal as well. Its real good! Also order chocolate frappe but i couldnt finish the frappe bcs the ice is too much or maybe not blended well, overall it taste good.

Me and my mate loved it and enjoyed it. We order the gensis drink as take away because of the ombre or galaxy effect but so far taste is alright. The food came alot so it was quite fulfilling for us.

Portion size for the hungry bowls that we got (Superbowl and Campfire) were very substantial. Drinks are so pretty but expensive (recommend this purple galaxy one called “Genesis” though 💕💕🦄🌑✨).

We were excited to hear they opened a second location closer to the CBD on Sussex St. A much larger space, filled with light, the beautiful styling certainly makes you happy! Long before you’ve even got your meal!
In Short: Kusuka on Sussex is a polished follow up from their first cafe in Haymarket. It’s location near Town Hall makes it perfect to stop in for a quick coffee and breakfast. You will want to put aside some time to linger longer and try their Indonesian infused dishes, including the Superbowl and Kopi Pancakes.

The new store is looking amazing, their flagship store is located on Bijou Lane in Haymarket. The store is a lot more spacious than their first and the fit out looks amazing!. These guys are all about beautifully aesthetic dishes and Insta-worthy foods. I always order the Pink Latte when i stop in, it is my absolute favourite and i also decided to try the Kopi which was iced and a nice sweetness to it which meant i didn’t need to add any sugar.
I also love the Krispy Rendang, the sauce was just incredible and so addictive! I always get their Mi Goreng too it's just delicious and I love the 'SuperBowl'. They've recently added pancakes and some other breakfast options like 'a trip down memory lane..'.
Kusuka Cafe has opened up a second location close to Town Hall station and it’s got pastel vibes going. The space is twice as big now and they also have some new menu items. Here you’ll have to order at the counter and then they’ll bring the food to you. . They had this giant painting on the wall that says “Let tomorrow worry about itself”. Words I need to hear from time to time!
Dessert lover! Kusuka Cafe may add to your list. The coffee pancake taste fantastic, the mix of maple, ice cream, and peanut butter on the pancake will leave an unforgettable palate for your tummy (:

Located near my home, which is in sussex street. Very convenient. I love the atmosphere and decor of the cafe. I delight in the drinks! So many unique and tasty drinks. Furthermore, food is really creative as well with wide varieties of indonesian food. Perfecto. Will definitely come back again 👌
I’ve been a regular at Kusuka On Sussex for a while now. The service is consistently good and the food is amazing just like the Haymarket one. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. My favourite food there is the Indonesian fried chicken and my second favourite is Mee Pork. My favourite drink is the iced chocolate.
Once you got into the cafe, the first thing that caught my attention was the quote on the wall "Let tomorrow worry about itself!" The cafe itself is not really big, yet well decorated with details. The service was amazing, the staff were friendly. The food was amazing as well! Campfire and super-bowl are recommended to feed your hungry tummy and also the newly released menu called "Crispy Rendang" is worth to try - Authentic Indonesian cuisine, yet served in a totally different way. Hypovocado is a should-try drink - it is an avocado smoothies! Surely will come back to try the other food and drinks.
Amazing atmosphere! Great food! And the staffs are friendly too. They got so many different beverages that worth while to try. I personally love avocado so i would recommend Hypovocado! If you ask me about the food, I love the pork rice!! Always been my favourite ever since the first try 👍.

Never before I’ve seen savory pancakes like this offer somewhere else. If it’s sweet filling with cheese mixture is so common and so yummy too!

“Coffevocado” it’s a mixture of Indonesian Kopi susu with avocado milkshake and topped with fairy floss!
Kopi Tubruk .... you should try, this is how Indonesian really enjoy their coffee!

Very happy that this cafe is open till late, unlike their first outlet. The interior is very feminine and sweet, love the pink and gold colour theme. We ordered the popular Super Bowl, which was really yummy. We also ordered the rice bowl with fried chicken, I think they can add a bit more flavour to the rice as it was a tad plain. Other items on the menu looked really interesting too. Would be coming back for sure!!

I visited Kusuka while I was in Sydney. This place is so cute! I was lucky enough to speak to the owner as well and he was lovely. I tried a few drinks off the menu, The Matchavocado which was really nice, the Genesis which was incredible and I have no words to describe it, it will leave you speechless! The Wonder Melon which is more like a tea and comes with a piece of cake on top which is nice and fluffy and not too sweet. The food was delicious too, I tried the Super Bowl, The Three Little Rice Bowl which I really loved and my favourite dish out of all of them which was the Ceaser Martabak because I love spicy foods!
Cute little pink pastel themed cafe but sadly it replaced the lnc dessert house. Grabbed the martabak (beef pancake) $12.5 with extra cheese $2. Its good but very oily. Not used to the dish entirely since i rarely eat indonesian food besides mie goreng. Lots of stretchy cheese, i like. Although i got a bit sick after, i think it was because of this dish.
That aside, the drinks were beautifully presented. Had wondermelon $8.5, eve $10 and a pandan cake $5.5. Not too sweet, nice flavours but a bit pricey. Once in a full moon kinda thing.
Service was really friendly. Recommend.
Came here because me and my friend had some time to kill before our dinner appointment. I have always been wanting to try this cafe cos many people talked about it.
I ordered the pink latte and mocha cake as they ran out of their pandan cake that day. The pink latte tasted okay, I couldn't really taste the coffee though. The mocha cake could also do some improvement on the texture as it was a bit rough but taste wise it was good.
The place isn't that big but well decorated and really cozy to hang and catch up with your friends. Service were really good as well! The staffs were all friendly and so catering.
Would recommend people to give this place a try! And I would also definitely return to try out their main dishes!
The service here is good and it's open longer than the other stores which is good.
The food is pretty good and the drinks are so pretty looking. They come in a range of galaxy themes.
The store is quite cute and has a nice decor.
Prices are pretty good for what you get.

We came on a
Saturday night at 6:30pm. It was Grand Opening night so it was a little busy but no queues out the door.
The interior is absolutely stunning; it is everything that the Haymarket location is not - crisp and clean and very feminine. Perfect place to bring your friends or a date.
The staff were so lovely, and let us take pictures throughout the night with some of their props (after asking permission of course...). All drinks and food came quickly, and we were even offered some complimentary cones as dessert after our meal. Thanks Mario!
We had the La Vie En Rose tea, the Watermelon drink with Pandan cake, the Red Velvet, and the Iced Pink Rose latte. All were stunning, colourful, and everyone enjoyed their drink.
Hearty Indonesian styled food with rice and noodles as the base. The Martabak was definitely the favourite of the night - that dish is so good with cheese!

The owner of the cafe was super friendly. She was very welcoming as soon as we walked in the cafe 😊
We ordered a mix of food as you can see in the Menu (Check out my photos)
The food was based on Indonesian / Fusion, not authentic Indonesian, so don’t walk in the cafe expecting to eat the real authentic Indonesian cuisine otherwise you will get disappointed!!! 😂
But I loved the food. The food was delicious, the beverages was very yummy.. also pretty and presentable, definitely a instagram worthy cafe if you love taking pics of pretty things and food 🥰

I loved the mi goreng roasted pork!! extra hot!! and my milo drink.. I gained a few kilos after but well worth it.
The cafe is located in sussex street in Sydney, very close to world square shopping centre and chinatown.
The area is not too busy, nice and quite street actually... I dislike overly crowded places so I rather go somewhere quiet so I can chit chat with my friends and I don’t have to scream on top of my lungs to be heard! lol
But yes I was happy with service & food and drinks that was served to us in this little fancy cafe..

Kusuka is arguably one of the best cafes in the Sydney CBD. They consistently provide exceptional quality dishes, packing an abundance of Indonesian inspired flavours and looking simply delightful. The food is reasonably priced for the quality you get. Staff are always welcoming and attentive. They also have exceptional coffee! Highly recommend adding Kusuka to your 'must visit' list of Sydney cafes.
We were very happy with the friendly staff and service. The food was great, we asked for spicy sauce and the staff was happy to provide a tasty house chilli sauce. The dishes looked great too. Had the best ending to the meal with the Kopi pancakes and left the place with smiles on our faces!
Beautifully presented food that tastes just as good as it looks. We got up early to go for breakfast and had the cafe to ourselves which was great considering it was full by the time we left! The staff are friendly and I would definitely come back again soon.
I went there for brunch and was very impressed, just like the last time I dined at their original location.
Their dishes are always beautifully plated and the flavours are amazing!

Spicy Hangry Bowl (love every element in the bowl. And those chilli, can’t get enuff of it!)
Yum Kwetiau (not your ordinary kwetiau. Try it and you’ll see what I mean).
For the drinks I really love their Wondermelon and the coffee is amazing too.

Loving the new store front on sussex street, there's always a line out the door at this place, so make sure you arrive out of the peak periods.
My favourite dishes from here are definitely the crispy rendang, the nasi goreng noodle bowls with crispy pork belly & for dessert the french toast is always pretty 😍
I recently tried the oatmilk coffee, which was a weaker and more smoother blend of coffee. Very smooth with a definite oat flavour.
I also got to try the cute little sleeping bear which is no longer available (unfortunately).
I loved the iced black forest drink, and their pink latte is always good!
