Did anyone mention chilli 🌶
This is the place to visit then, you will not only get to taste authentic Chinese but also the real traditional food! The chilli lamb ribs and the fish in chilli oil were my instant favourites! The perfect blend of chilli with other Chinese spices created a flavour which is unexplainable! As a chilli lover I can see myself visiting this place again
I love everything on the menu, have dinner here once a month, one of the best authentic Chinese Si chun restaurants in Sydney. I like Glebe store the food is more tasty then city store. Also all the staff are very friendly in Glebe store.
I love this place. If you like spicy food this is the place to come to. Make sure you try the spicy lamb chops. They are pretty spicy but they are really good!
Does My Bomb Look Big In This
+4.5
With gaudy lights and over the top decor, Spicy Sichuan at the Parramatta end of Glebe Point Road called to me, not least of which because nearly every diner in there was of Asian heritage - a very good sign. If you're up for another take on Chinese cuisi
Taste sensation. This place is the reason we rarely try other Glebe restaurants - the food is just fantastic and the Sichuan spices are extremely addictive. The chicken & dried chillies, spicy beef and the lamb ribs are our favourites. The ipad ordering system is a nice touch (I have finally mastered navigating through it, even the screens where the prompts are only in Chinese). Went there against last night and already thinking of the next visit.
Flavour is spot on. You get pretty much as good food here as in china. Tasty.
My only problem with the place is their stained table and chairs at their CBD restaurant. The globe one is ok.
Delicious and very authentic. I feel like I'm back in Beijing.
This place is a flavour explosion. It has a hit of heat from the chillies but not enough to take away the delicious flavour of their food.
The tea smoked duck, spicy chicken, cumin spicy lamb ribs were divine.
Even the vegetables were to die for.
The spinach cooked in salted duck egg soup was superb.
Coming back for sure!
Impressed from the minute we entered. Our waiter was very knowledgable and talked us through some highlights of the menu. We chose cold shredded chicken with sesame sauce, which was a taste explosion. Followed by lamb ribs, so tender and juicy, topped with a heady mix of cumin, garlic, Sichuan pepper and shallots - the best version of this dish I've had. Third dish was steamed eggplant with a sweet chilli paste, very nice but a shade salty. Overall great food, exceptional service and good value too already planning our next visit.
Spicy Sichuan. This place lives up to its name and based on my visits to China and eating Sichuan food there is authentic except to the generous size of the dishes. We ordered 4 dishes for $90 to serve 3 people-we could have served 4 to 5 people easily.
I wouldn't go for the decore or ambience but if you are a large noisy group, you'll feel right at home because the place is full of Chinese families having dinner.
The kung bao chicken with red peppers and peanuts was too spicey-too many whole cardamom pods and tingling chinese red pepper. But we liked the eggplant, the beans stir fried with pork and the salt and pepper calimari.
Very authentic. I was very happy with my meal. Don't complain about it being oily and spicy because that how Sichuan food should be. Loved it
Spice lovers rejoice! Finally a geniunely hot restaurant, without the food suffering. Don't come here expecting western Chinese, but the full colour menu helps. Oh and the servings are huge- which is never a bad thing when the foods this good.
I go here each time when I crave for chinese comfort food. Love the fish style tofu!
The food is very, very spicy but fantastic. My friend who loves spicy food ate a mouthful without testing the spiciness and she started coughing. So if you love spicy food do the taste test first. It is good value for money. The service was also fantastic. Parking may be a bit of a problem.
First of all, the food we ordered was amazing. Now, I don't know how many Anglo Australians visit this place? As my daughters and my self seemed to be a bit of a novelty to the other Asian diners there. I have the feeling that a lot of the comments here are from Australian born Chinese?? Anyway, we were wanting to try the hotpot for lunch, but I think this is only for the evening time's, as we were told we needed to phone ahead. You are given a tablet to choose your meal, which does make it easy as there is a bit of a language barrier.
Again, we all enjoyed the meal. First time for Sichuan. Great experience. Well worth it for the dish sizes.
Will definately do this again.
One of the best Sichuan restaurant in Sydney area. I was there 2 weeks ago and here again today. Good for casual catchups with friends. There's so many choices and I have yet to try everything. They have non-spicy selection too which is great for the less adventurous.
The meals were authentic as is the service, the food was fresh, hot and delicious. I've eaten at different Chinese restaurants over the years and learned that they are designed for Australians and if a diner wishes to eat like the Chinese do, they'd have to travel to China. At the Spicy Sichuan restaurant I experienced Chinese food, ambience and service in Glebe. I ordered the equivalent of a 3 course meal with green tea for 2, at a cost of $80, very happy with the evening and will definitely be returning.
