We always like to try somewhere new and we like a good coffee roaster. We had a quick browse online and decided to head to Aslan Coffee Roasters. Aslan have been roasting in St Peters since 2011. We visited their store in the Rocks, found down a small lane way; Nurses walk. Aslan’s aim is to produce a diverse range of coffee that shows off the bold flavours from Indonesia. They roast weekly and use these beans in milk based, filter, nitro, V60 and cold brew coffee. They also do a good chai, teas and shakes.
This place is a must for all coffee lovers. Using Indonesian coffee beans, ASLAN offers different brewing methods eg cold brew, batch brew and nitro brew (a cold brew coffee charged with nitrogen to give it a creamy head). The highlight was trying the ‘avogato’. It’s avocado mixed with condensed milk, topped with icecream and a shot of espresso is added and some chocolate. Yummm! #coffeeroasters #avogato #coffeelover
Coffee is a knockout! If you haven’t tried it, you must!
Food can be very hit and miss but generally good and the owner assures me processes are being streamlined to improve the overall quality. 10/10 for effort there.
Stumble across this cafe for lunch. Beef rendang is so tender and full of flavour I finished the whole bowl! need to come back and try their coffee next time!
Great to discover Aslan Coffee Roasters have now opened their second cafe. Cappuccino ($2 Hey You special, normally $3.50) uses their full bodied St Peters Blend that's roasted medium dark. Great hit of flavour. Loving the look of the place that looks dedicated to the coffee fix. Interesting eats menu as well. Hoping my next visit will include Aunty Mei's Pork Satay grilled over charcoal served on roti paratha with slaw, sweet spiced gherkin and sriracha mayo. Sounds delicious.
