We had a lovely three course meal at this new restaurant on a Groupon deal and enjoyed the food, though we did find that the portions were quite small, especially the entrees which were more like appetisers. The avocado pani-poori were only 2 pieces, one mouthful per person. Salmon and melon tartar very refreshing though also quite small. The bengal goat stew was the standout dish for us, better than the butter chicken which was a bit too sweet. Dessert portions were decent and the orange cake was very delicious.
In terms of normal menu prices, it would be quite expensive. Service was a little slow for a quiet weeknight. Would give this 3.5 stars but can't do that.
Went last night for 2 people groupon deals. It was an impressive experience. Once I walked in and I was warmly welcomed by the staffs. It was stunning place hidden in a building. Nice music, lights and deco. Since my partner was running late, the staffs are considerate, they offered me Coonawarra merlot to start with when waiting. Service is top notch and food came warm and quick. Both of us enjoyed chatting with their staffs and delicious lamb shoulder, butter chicken. From my personal experience, I love this place and people, will come back many times. If you are after a nice decent India dining experience, you should try before judging it.

Rangoli gives an interesting first impression as you head down into the basement, - rustic, modern and with a touch of spice in the air. We were not expecting a fine dining Indian experience.
We had a table for 3 and ordered the $75 banquet. The service was exceptional and despite being only 1 wait staff, was swift and helpful. But most importantly, the food was delicious. A mixture of flavors of sweet and savory and the occasional kick of heat from the curry. Three entrees of salad cleansed the palate with fruit in preparation for the strong flavors of the lamb and butter chicken. The fresh naan is also to die for.
No doubt we would be back here again!
One of the best Naan I have never been at the heart of CBD. Delicious flavoursome curry with the naan which was crispy on the bottom and super fluffy at the same time. Get their chili garlic naan!
Second time having eaten here. Like the time before the food was fantastic with generous portions and great flavour. The atmosphere is ideal for when you want to unwind after work at a high quality establishment. MJ is doing an amazing job running the restaurant and she is always keen for feedback to make the experience even better or just to have a chat and find out how you are going. Definitely pop by to try out the menu and stay for a few drinks!
What a great modern Indian restaurant tucked away in York Street. I would have never known this amazing place existed if it wasn't for Groupon. Highly recommend the food. The deco and presentation was fine dinning but table service could have been better. A bit more professional for the type of restaurant it is. But will be back as the food was amazing the staff were lovely though.
