Such a great experience with my husband and two kids. Staff very friendly, food was delicious and lots of fun.
I found this place because my work colleagues have never been to Teppanyaki before and I wanted a place within an affordable budget. My friend Meg was going home to India and we wanted a proper farewell dinner with her. This place had many different set menus and they said easier if we all ordered the same thing. Teppanyaki is always fun for a group dining experience and this place although rather small, had a lot of fun games for everyone for enjoy. I don't know what it is, but that person who can never catch that raw egg, makes me laugh. Good times and good flaming memories. Make sure to book ahead of time, as it is a small venue it gets booked out quickly. We did arrived late by half an hour, so we only have one hour to eat. we also brought some wine, it is BYO $3.50 per person. Even though they had to ask us to finish up for the next time slot, they let me finish my wine outside the door.
I love this place, been many a times. Its great for families, groups, special occasions, reasonably priced, and its BYO!! The Misoyaki steak is AMAZING. This is a local place with great food, service and a relaxed atmosphere. Yes they throw food at you, but its part of the show and experience, and if you cant catch thats your problem. This place might not look as fancy as some other places on King st, and it's not. But what it lacks in succulents, exposed beams incandescent lighting and craft beer (which is pretty much everything on King st now) it has character and a relaxed vibe. Great place and will be going back.
Ichioku has a fun, warm atmosphere and the food is excellent. Literally the best steak I've had in ages. The seafood set is very tasty and they have a great kid's set. My daughter is a cautious eater, decided when ordering that she would only eat the fried rice which comes at the end - but ate every bite of the delicious fish and chicken. Top notch miso soup too, which for me is a measure of the whole restaurant. The teppanyaki chef is very skilled and engaging. He was very entertaining with an adults' group who wanted the full wow factor teppanyaki experience - then dialled it down for us because my daughter is 8 - and was still equally engaging and fun.
Friendly staff, very fun chefs and great tasting food. A great entertaining night for only $30/head. We had the vege menu and it was amazing.
Wow. Really enjoyed the dinner... Amazing and fresh food
Food A La Circus!. It's the festive season, so thought something group orientated would be fun! And it WAS funny!
But I was gripped with performance anxiety (for a second) and worried the whole place was too bogan (after seeing the Jim Bean mixers from the group before us!) but if you go with the flow of the place it's fine and fun. The food is not the best Japanese you'll ever taste, but it is fresh and kinda like Mickey Mouse Japanese, so a little bit takeaway/fast food feel... BUT we laughed so much and the tricks are great. We changed the menu around a bit too because we just like fish and no other meat at Japanese, and the staff were friendly too.
YAY for festive fun at tea time!
