Review Fast Pho - Sydney

We have a good warm dinner in this small restaurant. Vegetarian tom yam noodles and beef noodles soup are served in big portion. Rice spring rolls are nicely done.

Simple and yummy pho and Vietnamese Salad. Has vegetarian options. Cash only. Pretty cheap! Their service is very friendly and accommodating. A lot of variety in chili condiments. Their walls don't look dirty to me so maybe they were painted :)

Literally a new favourite restaurant. I went there in the afternoon and the owner was taking a nap, but she still made this meal for me. Great service 🙂 I ordered Crispy Chicken Noodle, $11 for a good portion. Chicken is crispy and the noodle soup tastes nice. Will definitely come back to try other options.

This is not Fast Pho any more, same sign but new owners and a new menu with a different name. Absolutely disgusting pho. Broth was not much more than oil and water.chicken was slimy and soft. Oh and the prices are higher... don't bother ever going here again :(

Honestly best & most authentic pho I’ve found in Ultimo 😍 so good & so cheap. Veg & tofu pho for $10.... yes please!!!!

I looked inside and saw large pictures of the dishes on the wall. I went in and was the only white person there which is a good sign. i had the pork soup and spring rolls and it was excellent ! look at the prices, very reasonable. Going back later this week, recommended. A very casual restaurant with excellent food. We live locally and my partner and I love this place. Quick and delicious food every single time. Nothing over $10 in the menu.

Hidden Gem! $8 for deliciously fresh Pho! Staff are friendly, food is great and prices are astounding what more could you want!? Its quite a small little restaurant however the food compensates for this! Gets very busy at peak times so get in quick! Have had nearly every item on the menu and continue to come back!

Absolutely not good enough! I purchased the Beef Pho tonight and when I got home there was a bug floating in the broth!

It’s a humble establishment, but it’s neat, clean and tidy.
Went with the Beef Pho which looked delicious.
And it was, perfectly sliced beef, tasty broth and fresh noddles and sprouts.
Quick and friendly service as well.
And only $9, what great value!

There is something wrong with the broth it self, there is slit of impurities and smell a little strange, not so aromatic, more like unpleasant undercooked rush meat broth.
Vietnamese Coffee also not great, taste of cream ( or maybe UHT milk ) present on the drink.
It’s cheap meal, special beef pho is $11, and Vietnamese coffee for $3.
When I saw it $3 i was presented of big question mark on my head since I know how much is market price for Vietnamese ice coffee, even in Cabramatta area it self.
Sorry guys, need lots to improve!

Fast Pho is a good and affordable place for students and diners to enjoy Vietnamese food. The place is nice and clean, and staff are very friendly. Ordered the pho, vermicelli salad, and crispy chick w/ egg noodles. Tasted good. Great value for money

P.S. I’m tired of people who think they have “Chinese restaurant syndrome” or telling others “oh msg this... msg that..”. Yes it’s a food enhancer, but there are no solid evidence that it causes your symptoms. Expect it for every Asian restaurant you go to, if not home cook is the solution. I’ve said it before but still feel the need to speak up. End of rant.

Omg 😮!

Service 5/5 they are quick and polite!
It’s really fast 💨 💨 💨

That’s why they call themselves as ‘ Fast Pho’

Ambience: 4/5
There is a really local Vietnamese feeling and the room is quite spacious, bright and clean.

Food (Pho)
Special beef pho 🍲! 4.5/5
The waiting time is less than 2 minutes! The thin slice raw beef put into the hot special pho soup and serviced with chilli and spring sprouts. Excellent!

Crispy chicken noddle soup 🍜!
Quantity 5/5 quality 4/5 taste 3/5
Omg! It’s half or quarter chicken I suppose! And only $11! Really good deal! But the soup is non-taste... lol, no worry there are plenty of sauces you can choose.

Pho tasted like hot water. Meat super chewy. This was the worst pho I’ve eaten. Definitely change of owner issue as the pho I heard was good a few months back. Restaurant smells and needs a clean.

Went there for lunch at about 1pm. Seconds after I placed my order there were lotsa other people coming in for lunch, some take away. I had their crispy chicken with tomato rice. The chicken as you can see from my picture looks very different from those photos posted by others. It’s very pale looking, not crispy and not very flavourful. The rice too, can’t really taste the tomato. But it’s generally ok to eat with the sauces on the table. Given the service was fast, price was ok and portion was quite generous, I will go back again for quick lunch.

It seems that there was a change of owner. The menu looks the same but quality went down little bit. But still good fast serving and recommend for lunch.

Most meals here are less $10. Even though recently $1 gone up, still really cheap.
I had combination noodle soup and spring roll. It is good for price.

As the stall name suggest, Fast Pho is indeed very fast. I receive my pipping hot bowl of Special Beef pho within seconds of my order. Located along Mountain Street, which is a stone's throw away from the main road Broadway, the nondescript Vietnamese restaurant is popular among students and local residents. However, I find the beef over cooked and tough. I am also uncomfortable with the MSG added to the broth/soup.
Memo
Two words. Cheap. Consistent.

I have eaten here many times over the past 2 years and the meals are always consistently nice. I have tasted the pork chop rice, crispy skin chicken, pho, and vermicelli.

Every main here is between $8-10. The servings are large for what you pay. The taste is good enough and I always walk out of here satisfied.

Service is fairly quick. You walk in and sit down. You get a menu and order. Everything else is self service!

Onto some of the actual food...

Their pork chops are thin but still tasty and not fatty. I always am trying to get all the meat off the bone. The flavour is just right and the meat is cooked perfectly. My experience with some pork chops have been overcooked and hard to bite.

The special beef noodle soup is not full of flavour or fragrant like other places but that is made up by the amount of meat that comes with. The bowl is huge and you cannot argue with the price.

But for the price I would rate this a 3. :)

*****
Take note that this is of course all based on my unqualified opinion!

My considerations: 1. Food 2. Value 3. Service 4. Atmosphere

Excellent cheap pho fix. You get a huge bowl of beef noodle soup for only $8! Have been here far too many times to count, and have taken almost all my friends here. The crispy chicken with tomato rice is also an excellent alternative when Sydney does get quite hot. Spring rolls do their job well. The rice paper rolls could be a bit more refined, but can't complain too much given the price. They give free fruit often too! The cash-only rule can be a nuisance at times, but seems to be a common theme in such places in Sydney.

Located on Mountain Street and close by to Broadway Shopping Centre. As the name suggests, they do pho 'fast'. Not only does your food come out quickly, it is great value for money.

I entered this place and it was slightly busy when I visited but it got quite busy with people looking for a cheap feed. Most meals here are $10 or less. They only accept cash only but perfectly understandable for the prices they were charging.

Had Spring Rolls ($5), Beef Noodle Soup ($8), and Vietnamese Ice Coffee ($3). All were tasty and decent food. Only quibble could be the noodles could've had more beef in it.

True to its name, let me tell you that Fast Pho serves up your dishes really fast! We never wait more than 5 minutes for our food. Nothing on the menu is over $10 making it the perfect go-to for affordable Vietnamese eats. Its location is also perfect to go to from uni or Central Station. The $8 beef noodle soup (pho) is super delish & another recommendation from me to you is the crispy chicken with tomato rice. That crispy chicken is probably the best I have ever had in Sydney and it is always so consistent!
J.K
Unfair portions. Paying more from broth than noddles soup. Poor service. Not what I expected after seeing a rating of 3.5. Drinking the broth just to get my money's worth.

I LOVE Fast Pho, I eat there 1-2 times a week. The food is delish and super fast, I mean it's not fine dining but it's what you need right now, trust me. It's healthy too - if you order the right stuff.

Beef Pho - The beef pho is my regular fav, would recommend ordering the 'raw' beef pho (note it's not on the menu and it costs a $1 more) $8
Duck Noodle Soup - The second best soup item on the menu, but boyfriend who usually gets this says its 'hearty' and warming and like a big hug $9
Vermicelli noodles with pork and spring rolls - Really delicious, make sure you pour the tangy sauce over the noodles or they're a little plain $11
Fried Chicken with Tomato Rice - This is my go to when I feel like something deep fried. I have to sadly say that the tomato rice isn't great though, chicken makes up to it. $9

Come here regularly. Pho to fast and tasty. Recommend sticking to the Pho. The other noodle soup dishes is not as good as other places. For the price it's very good value

Fast Pho lives up to its name and is indeed fast! (I swear we waited maybe 3 minutes max for our food) The beef pho for only $8 is truly a steal for a good, filling lunch. The soup base could be developed a bit more, as can the serving size compared to stores in the south west, but it was decent considering the price. Can't say much about the ambience considering I got takeaway, but it seemed friendly, albeit a little dark. The beef was a tad too overcooked for my liking, but I would still happily recommend this to anyone looking for a quick Vietnamese meal in their lunch break.

Possibly the best value restaurant in Sydney.

The staff are very friendly.
Could not find any faults.
Possibly except for the water machine haha.
The crispy chicken is so nice that I haven't had time to try the other dishes.

I wish the bun cha with spring rolls had said that it had meat in it! Took a big bite and got an unexpected mouthful of unidentified meat. Very dissapointed. I couldn't eat it at all :(

Had bún bò and phở bò here, but the bun bore little resemblance to bun in vietnam (yes I am vietnamese). It lacks ambiance and the lighting is dull with no decor whatsoever. I give it a 3 because the pho was alright. The meat was a little overcooked and my dish did not come with the usual vegetables.
Tracey
Cheap, quick and tasty! The beef pho is a steal at $8 and the tomato rice with chicken won't break the bank at $10. This is very good value for a decent and filling meal. I recommend the coconut juice as a sweet and refreshing accompaniment to your meal! My only gripe here is that it's another cash only place, so be warned to withdraw beforehand!

I went there few days ago with my Mom and had a special beef noodle soup for lunch. It served quick, nice staff. We are Pho lovers, so with me the broth here is not good, it lacks the taste of Pho. Just my opinion!!
Tablefor3
Great find in broadway for a good Pho fix. The broth of the Pho is tasty and has depth! Also try the grilled porkchop with tomato rice. The char grilled taste is simply beautiful. Been there twice in the last week.
FoodieYim
Most of the rice and noodle dishes are all around $8-10 each. The portion is generous too. If I want quick and cheap Vietnamese food in around Broadway, this is the place to go.
They receive cash only, so make sure you have cash with you before you order :)

New post: Went back here to get the pork & springrolls vermicilli salad. The pork had lots of burnt black flecks/bits to it (as though the pan or grill they were using was dirty & had residue from other times it was used) & there was no flavour, save for the black bits which wasn't very pleasant. I have to say this dish was very underwhelming but would come here again for the chicken & rice dish.

Old post: The crispy chicken & tomato rice is great & love the sweet fish sauce that comes with it. The pho is ok buy I needed to add sauces to beef up the flavours. The service was friendly & fast.

I noticed this Pho place around the corner from where I worked and was slightly reluctant to give it a try knowing that a lot of these places are quite bad in quality due to its lack of authenticity. You can imagine my surprise and shock by how decent the Pho is here. I guess the other sign is that this place at luynch time gets its fair share of customers despite not being in the best location and among other food places as well. The Pho is quite on par with something you’d find in Cabramatta. Everything here is self service though… so at the counter you can grab your sauces (unlike at other places where the sauces are on the table) and there’s even boxes of tissues at the counter as well. The price is quite fair for what they’re offering and its also of a decent size as well. The service is polite enough.

Cheap and delicious pho. Quick cheap pho. The crispy chicken with tomato rice is also very delicious!

Unlike most eateries which sell things for under $10 this isn’t like pouring bleach onto your retinas. The mixture of autumnal tiling, OCD bottle lines and a complete lack of plastic furniture easily make it one of the prettier cheap meals in the area.

Located near Broadway in the city and a very short walk from the University of Technology, is this simple but satisfying restaurant. They're open for lunch and dinner and we dropped by for dinner on a Wednesday night. Despite the proximity to the main Broadway strip, there wasn't much of a crowd and the menu was short so we were able to quickly grab a table and make our orders. Not sure if the place gets more busy during lunch times though. The 1 page menu - simple Vietnamese classics that you can hardly go wrong with. And checkout those prices!! Beef noodle soup - $8 - that's right- $8 ! A pretty decent serving of beef pho for such a low price. The soup may not be the best there is, but the noodles were soft and slippery, there was su

Fast Pho lives up to its name, offering speedy and tasty Vietnamese dishes to starving students and Ultimo workers. A few years ago the Broadway end of Mountain Street had a Nando's chicken store that exploded one night. After the super crisped bones and chook skin had been cleared away, Yai Ma Thai opened. As things tend to happen in the world of street food, it closed down overnight and Fast Pho opened. The off Broadway location and good lunchtime prices of mostly $7 to $10 make Fast Pho a popular spot, there's often not a free table if you get in too late for lunch or come with a big crowd. On each neat wooden table are the usual pho fixin's, hoisin sauce and sriracha chilli sauce and sometimes some Maggi Seasoning as well. The menu is short and easy, bowls of Pho, special Pho, chicken soup, prawn soup, noodles with sides of crisp chicken or pork chops, tomato rice with the same and even plain old chicken and chips for the fussy buggers you sometimes end up with in work lunch groups

Fast Pho offers delicious, quick and cheap Vietnamese food with friendly service.

Cheap, Consistent and Great Taste. Fast Pho is a must go to place if your a uni student or someone looking for cheap, solid, vietnamese food. Their crispy chicken is top notch. Always fresh, always crispy and made to order. They have a choice of crispy chicken noodle soup or crispy chicken with rice. Go check them out.

They live up to their name. The food is great and is prepared and served 'fast'! The staff are very polite and friendly and they always serve you with a smile.

Delicious cheap eat!. I'm always lazy cooking dinner for my family and Fast Pho is just the perfect place for fast cheap eat. Their beef pho used to be $7 but at $8 it is still worth it. I love their crispy chicken!
Petesaladino
Great but salty. Great pho, nice people, very casual. Broth is a little salty but still delicious!

Pho is good (beef, original and the best). Crispy chicken done well, just don't get it with noodles as it's not quite the right broth/noodles. Spring rolls are average. Lovely people who run it.

This place is amazing! The pho is fresh and only $7. Vermicelli is great too. I highly recommend this place... Amazing value!
