Review Treetop Cafe - Sydney

Tessa Joana
Amazing place for brunch! Good service, good food and good price. It was my first time going to a cafe that served eggs benedict on a brioche bread. It was delicious! I have previously tried their breakfast platter too. Portion was massive and the taste was good. The only minus points are it took more than 20 mins for the foods (eggs benedict and big breakfast) to come out and there was no ice :(

Small but amazing Cafe, expect a small wait for a table, everyone was amazing and very accommodating. We got the share platter for $55 plenty of food and great quality.

Discovered this place on Groupon and decided to give it a go. I’m glad I did cause it was perfect. Delicious and portion was enough for 3 people. Me and my friend couldn’t finish. I highly recommend. Thanks for great service guys

Pretty nice place. The food and coffee were good, however the poached eggs left a little more to be desired and for that I give a 4 star rating.

I went for the Big Breakfast with my son and daughter about a month ago. They could not cook us enough for 3, nor could they add the pancakes i.e. they couldn't cook what was on the menu for breakfast at 10am, when they open at 8am. I gave them a second chance today. and 3 of us went again for the Big Breakfast. Again 10am in the morning, not at the end of the day. When I went to order 1 Big Breakfast, I was advised 'sorry I don't think we can cook that for you today'. My recommendation is don’t visit this cafe if you want a big breakfast; you can’t pre-book and based on my 2 visits, they cannot provide what they advertise on the menu.

Horrible service and food!!without telling us served us on take away box bcoz the washing machine was out of order!!! Oh and they close 1hr before they actually supposed to!!

I got the French toast on Valentine’s Day with a refreshing juice. My bf got the eggs Benedict w/ spinach and a hash brown and a flat white. Everyone was beautiful. Looking forward to coming back!

This Cafe is the best cafe I have ever been too, the best service no matter the day, weather or anything. The food there is also amazing and will definitely keep me coming back every single morning.

Went to Treetop recently with friends. Nick looked after us and was very accommodating. Great deal on food. Would recommend a go!

We came here on a whim and ordered the meat platter and an eggs benny. The bacon was perfect, mushrooms were subbed for the black pudding which was really nice, and the chorizo was great! Only disappointing aspects were that the sausages were virtually flavourless and the bread was tough, as well as the mango smoothie being served to us warm with a slightly off putting watered consistency. Eggs Benny was alright, but we had little sauce on our serving. The bread used for the Benny was perfect!

Recently opened new cafe in the neighborhood. Good verity if food and liked their fresh squeezed juice. Reasonable place for weekend brunch!

Delicious selection of food for this place. This was the most popular thing that we saw being served at the shop. Very large selection of different breakfast items.

Would definitely recommend that you don't eat the pancakes for last because the icecream tends to melt and the pancakes can be a little dry.

Came on a weekday morning. Coffee and food were both fantastic. I had an iced latte and breakfast bun. All really great value! I was pleasantly surprised with the prices. Menu has a plenitude of options for breakfast (all day) and lunch (after 11am). The owner is really friendly too! Nothing to fault really

They made last minutes changes for us vegetarians to the platter. :)
It was lovely! Super friendly! Good brunch. Atmosphere was good and relaxing.

We came here with a Groupon voucher so this whole platter and two milkshakes were only $40 which is a steal. The chocolate milkshakes were rich and decadent - not too sweet which is good. The platter came with a generous amount of food such as bread, eggs (three ways), hash browns, avocado, tomato, mushrooms, meats and cheese. The pancakes were delicious and we were left feeling SO FULL. Service was great. 5/5.

We used a Groupon deal for the breakfast platter with pancakes and coffee. It was delicious but definitely too much food for two. The coffee and staff were both lovely. A staff member asked if we wanted to wait inside for our bus so that we weren't out in the torrential rain. Will definitely be back.

Husband & I Went here for breakfast twice in two weeks! Both times we had great experiences. In fact We got the Breakfast platter twice. The platter tasted AMAZING, was HUGE size wise and had a great variety of food on it. This included 2 x roasted tomato, 2 x hash browns, 4 mini pancakes(with strawberries & ice-cream), mushrooms, 1/2 avocado, 2 poached eggs, 2 fried eggs & scrambled eggs, 1 chorizo, asparagus & 4 slices of sourdough toast. They say this is appropriate for two people but id say it would be fine for 4! At $60 i would say for 3-4 diners this is a great idea but for 2 diners it could be seen as expensive for some. To drink on the first visit we had banana & caramel milkshakes which were large in size, uses lots of flavouring & was quite tasty but opted to get coffee the next time around which was quite nice. The interior is very warm and inviting and the exterior is great for people with dogs. The restaurant doesn't have the best view though. Service is very fast here which was unexpected considering how much food they had to make and how packed it was inside. We were very impressed and will be back

Cute little cafe in Waterloo. Friendly staff and a wide selection of brunch foods. Loved the eggs benedict on brioche toast. #breakfastinsydney #brunchgoals

Went on Saturday morning and the cafe wasn’t busy
I had a reservation for Groupon voucher, $39 breakfast platter and pancake with coffee or tea deal for two people. The staff was very friendly.
The breakfast platter was HUGE! Unlike some other cafes on Groupon who would reduce the portion of food if you use Groupon voucher, Treetop was very generous to all customers. 5 star for this.
We had two fried eggs, two poached eggs and scrambled eggs. WOW. Lots of bacon and ham, 5 slices of toasts. WOW. Everything was delicious.
I don’t really like the pancake though. It’s not fluffy. The coffee was a little bit light.
Great place and excellent for weekend brunch.

Visited on a Sunday morning. This place is packed late morning. Got a spot outdoors and went for the breakfast platter. Platter is huge with eggs 3 ways and an assortment of meats and veggies. Also comes with a pancake for those who like sweets. Great spread.

My new local! Couldn't be happier with this little gem. It's a cute little cafe hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Zetland. The staff are super friendly and the food is well priced. The platters look incredible - I just don't trust my will power having that much food in front of me!The coffee is delicious. Great baristas. The only downfall from my perspective is that the lunch menu doesn't have many vego (or healthy) options (mostly burgers). I would love to see them add a salad to satisfy us fitness foodies. Otherwise great though. Would definitely recommend visiting this place!

Really inexpensive food but the quality reflected it. It was ok, not terrible. Average at best.
The Roadhouse bean dish was just baked beans served from a can and the food was quite salty. Again I emphasize it isn’t terrible but it’s not the best

A decent cafe for breakfast in Zetland, good for the loca neighbourhood. The purple sweet potato latte was something different (and yummy by the way) and I enjoyed the truffle mushrooms, Parmesan and poached egg on toast. Would happily go back again!

Fabulous cafe with a reasonably priced menu and absolutely delicious food. The food was sent out quickly and the service was outstanding. I will definitely go back for more as it was a fantastic experience.
The Next Rush
The DOUBLE STACK PANCAKE plays on bitter and sweet with the lemon ricotta, mixed berry compote and ice cream... Too much? You can get this with whipped cream too if you like. The HOMEMADE CORN FRITTER has two cheeses weaved into it of ricotta and parmesan. The CLUB SANDWICH uses a homemade aioli and it's little touches like this in their dishes that make the dishes so loveable and their own. The BACON & EGG ROLL is our benchmark dish in case things go wrong and the whole selection seamlessly surpasses expectation. Also, their FRENCH TOAST should be called a 'French Loaf' because its massive! Topped with yoghurt, berries and toasted muesli drizzled on the side, it's kept to standard, as all dishes are so beautifully presented and a flavour bomb of explosion for the tastebuds.

The service is gentle and friendly.

This place is awesome. Great food. Great coffee. Really friendly service. Feels like a small family run place that is so comfortable and pleasant to visit. Especially during the week when the weekend brunchers are away.
Check out the eggs benny 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Perhaps the lunch menu is better but breaky here is just sub-par. We initially requested for the Vegetarian Platter for 2 but were told that it's not an option anymore, so we ended up ordering:

Breakfast Bruschetta (3/5): The salsa verde taste was lost in this dish, it was much more like a dash of balsamic on top of grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and slices of avo. The mushrooms were yummy and the edible flowers and Sprouts were a nice touch but there wasn't a real wow factor with the flavours of this dish. I would have preferred a traditional Bruschetta.

Treetop Big Breakfast (3/5): A decent serving of food but everything again was quite sub-par, nothing really stood out in unique flavour or texture. Just a plate of hash brown, fried egg, buttered toast, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms, sausages, bacon and a side of baked beans like you could make at home.
LovetoEat
Very disappointed dining experience with poor services, long waiting time to get served and Coffee/Food tastes so bland. There are so many quality Cafes in Zetland, will not come back again.

$85 - We came here on a Monday,
The store wasn’t busy so the service was amazing. All employees warmly welcomed us and was quite attentive. They would check up on us to see if everything was alright with the food and service, they even provided us with extra cutlery and plates without having to ask as our order was to share.

We ordered a breakfast platter for two, crab fettuccine, french toast & two iced beverages.

Price is relatively decent & you get value for what you paid for as they were very generous with their servings.
Platter for two $45

Eggs three ways, assorted cold cuts, mushroom, tomato, avocado, haloumi, sausages, bacon and chorizo with two assorted sides of toast and to top it off pancakes.

French toast $17.5 with fruits & caramel.

Pasta $17.5 with crab meat and rocket was full of flavour.

Two iced beverages $11

Definitely value for money.

This place is great value for money!
All the food was perfectly cooked and presentation was on point.
The chef personally came out to check how the food was, which was very thoughtful and welcoming.
He also ensured all the food came out altogether.

The breakfast platter was presented beautifully and everything that had to be crunchy was crunchy (hash browns and bacon) what had to be soft was nice and soft, bonus points for the fluffy scrambled eggs!

Only one thing I would like to see is the seating arrangements. It would be nice for someone to walk us to a table as we walked in and helped ourselves.
Asian Food Ninja
Latte ninja

Now this is preference but the lattes were too healthy for me, you can taste the spice and flavours from each lattes.

I think this cafe is still establishing its identity in food styles and cuisine type, its seems they do breakfast and lunch but focus on burgers and platters style.

Some of the burgers were decent and tasty but overall a newly developing cafe.

Until next time ... keep eating ...
The RnB Diary
For the first time in our blogging experience, we left a venue without eating the food. After 40 mins waiting of two dishes, we finally got our food but was cold. Bear in mind there were only two other tables taken at the time. Whether it is for paying customers or a complimentary blogger visit, it is not acceptable to serve cold food after a long wait. It was already 2:15pm, we were too hungry and frustrated to wait again for the cafe to rectify, so we decided to leave.

Other observations while we were waiting. 1) we ordered a vanilla milkshake but received a caramel one. 2) every drink and dish left the kitchen and ended up at the wrong table and there were only two other tables taken. 3) As I peaked into the kitchen for a sign of my lunch, I saw one of the waiting staff picked up a slice of tomato by hand from one end of the kitchen and rushed to the other end to assemble the burger. I understand she tried to speed things up but it was the same hand that took customer orders, accepted payment, and cleaned up the tables. It doesn't inspire confidence that the operation in that kitchen at that moment was up to professional standard.

I wish Treetop Cafe all the best with new menu launch and hope they deliver a higher standard of service and food in the future.

Slouvaki lamb burger - Minty Aegean slaw, beetroot relish, parsley, caramelised onion and feta. These guys have recently redone their menu. They do a pretty amazing roast duck burger and seriously impressive brekky platters 😁

Tasty food, great atmosphere! Customer service is lacking, staff seem undertrained. Apart from that, would recommend!

Would recommend trying the:
- Salmon Eggs Benedict
- Orange, apple, watermelon and pineapple juice
- Big Boy Burger

Treetop cafe is across the road from East Village shopping centre on O'Dea Avenue. Seek it out and you will be rewarded with a top notch breakfast, that won't bust the mortgage.
There's a great menu and I could have very happily chosen everything off it (hello $10 chia pudding with lychee, mango and toasted coconut) but if you are wanting breakfast, I'd highly recommend the breakfast platters which are designed for sharing. And great for those that suffer from food envy.

We had the Vegetarian platter for two and it came out as a multi-tiered tower of breakfast heaven with eggs three ways (fried, scrambled and poached), avocado, roasted tomato, hash brown, charred zucchini, mushroom, truffle parmesan baked potato, pickle, and baked beans with a variety of toasts (Turkish bread, seeded, wholemeal). I like a little sweet with my savoury so we had the addition of the pancake special of the day which was served with macadamia ice cream, dried apple crisps, chocolate chip cookie crumbs, chocolate brownie and fresh berries.

It is a meal of epic proportions so bring your friends and your appetite! The food is also of beautiful quality; the perfectly soft poached eggs, gorgeous smoky charred zucchini, sweet roast tomato, skilfully sliced avocado, crispy hash browns and tangy pickles being highlights for me. It's sensational value at $35 for two (plus extra for the pancake add-on)

Treetop Cafe also caters to a wide range of preferences with a large choice of vegetarian and gluten free meals. The coffee is Di Bella and there's the option of lactose free, soy and almond milk for the non dairy drinkers.
Never Mind
Good food, quantity of food and price!!
And I don't see why the hell I need to type 140 characters it's forcing me too ramble on! because living in this day & age time is precious like never before! LESS IS MORE! This place is good which I summed up in my first sentence.

🚩🚩 @treetop_cafe 🚩🚩
🍔 5 SPICED PORK BURGER: slow cooked pork belly, Asian apple slaw, coriander, fries 🍔

It was a fair walk to get there - but the coffee and food were calling me. It was smack on 11am so I ordered a burger from menu. This read well so I gave it a try - but as I discovered it had a few surprises! First, the pork was pulled and not nice juicy slices of belly. Secondly, what I took as a side of fries was actually inside the burger! That went alright, but I'd recommend using sliced belly or a different cut of pork 👊

Had a lovely meal using a Groupon voucher on a Thursday night. Was not very busy and the waitress and the Chef were very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and the service was great. The Chef was happy to talk with us and even helped us with parking. Clearly he loves to cook and his food was a delight to eat. The restaurant atmosphere is warm and inviting and decorated to make you feel that you are dining among the treee tops. Great place to visit. Will derfinitely be going again.

Treetop Cafe is a venue in the newly revamped development of a once bland and unappealing industrial area in Waterloo. As this area continues to grow its high-rise population density, open park spaces, Treetop answers the call to its locals and workers with a menu of classic treats. From morning to night, you will find your caffeinated wake up call, luscious brunch, snack pack lunch or greasy hangover cure and be greeted by charming service at the same time.

Came for lunch with my girlfriend who lives around the corner and I've been quite impressed by the food and service (I had the chicken burger). Taking my fiancé there next time.

Very unassuming and tucked behind a gym in a residential area but certainly a contender for a CBD style eatery. The pancakes are light, fluffy and Insta-worthy. The chai was extra hot as requested and the smell of pizza cooking for the lunch menu was intoxicating & enough to ensure my repeat business.
Lunch Pie
Super friendly service. Came here for brekky. We got the pancakes with berry compote and ricotta cheese. I ordered my usual of scrambled eggs and bacon. Pretty good I must say. Very decent coffee. Would come back again for sure.

The steak was perfectly done and very tasty
I also love their super fluffy pancake and hot chocolate
They use actual chocolate not cheapy power
This little cafe is tucked away and easily missed. Thankfully I found it. The pancakes were so fluffy and delicious they left me wanting more. My girlfriend got the drench toast which was equally tasty and we took home a freshly baked muffin - just to top off the sugar load! We will be back to work our way through the rest of the menu. Good job!

Nice fitout, like egg Benedict, hot chocolate, corn fritter. Chat with waitress and friendly service, but she seems not know menu well enough. Cakes is nice and croissant bakes fresh if I come in the early morning. Problem, no parking. I am forced to park at supa centre. It seems the meals are good at weekend but not that perfect during week days
