Nice laksa, quite big serving size. At first I thought the soup was a bit watery, but the flavour did condense towards the end (I was certain I had stirred it properly at the beginning). Food court itself is quite spacious with an additional area out the back. It's downstairs though, so quite easy to miss

This place has the best Hainanese Chicken in Sydney, for only 10$! The meal set also comes with a chicken soup. This food court is so hard to find but this local gem makes it shining. I love the chicken and the rice. And must ask for their homemade chilli source! Not very hot but surely will surprise you.

Located in an outdated undergroup food court wedged between Pitt St and the Town Hall Woolies is Pittsway Arcade. If you didn't know it existed, you would surely miss it. If you're looking for a hawker experience synonymous with that in South-East Asia with its plasticky chairs and worn tables, then you've come to the right place. I've only tried the Hainanese chicken rice at Sayong's ($10) but some of the other stalls looked decent. This place is great if you have a preference for either breast or leg meat, I chose breast (being somewhat health conscious) and was greeted with multiple succulent and juicy pieces of meat swimming in soy sauce. The rice alone texturally has a great mouthfeel and coupled with the clear soup, I was beyond completely and utterly satiated. No joke this meal kept me fuelled til 8pm which was well pass my allotted dinner time. I urge you to come quick.

Been going since 1997!! That tells a story.

Best (in my opinion) Hainan Chicken is Australia bar none. Ive tried the Nasi Lemak and that is also good. I believe that his chicken is akin to a McDonalds meal, always know that it will taste the same regardless.

I've been to this place for lunch occasionally for the last 12 years .... 12 years my friends!

Well, forget about fancy fine dining, and casual dining and this is not the first time I went here for quick lunch, good was always amazing.

Hall in the wall type of food, located in ground level of Woolworth supermarket, however the food always good, and really value for your money.

Choose of small, 2 dishes for $7.5 large 3 chooses $8.50 you can't get this food court quality of food anywhere else in Sydney at least.
Price even better than your ready meal that available in supermarket isle.

The beef rendang is always my fave!

A well hidden food court at the basement that is in desperate need of an update, but don't let looks fool you, the food on offer are pretty tasty & very budget friendly. The ordering & waiting was quick, but there was a bit of confusion & the place was so busy, it's hard to find a spot out of the way to wait. For $9 I got the Ipoh Kway Teow in a generous portion, and better tasting then some restaurant that charge twice the price. Definitely will be back.

A small humble corner store in a under grorund food court just behind Townhall Woolworths. Sayong sell the most flavoursome and tasty lunch within the area, hands down (expect for maybe the thai place next to it, that place is nice too). Famous for their laksa, everything on their menu is less than $10. They serve the most tender beef rendang I've ever had, chicken is also nice and perfectly cooked.

Pros : Fast and cheap food (

Probably the busiest shop in this food court, but you can understand why. The meals are pretty cheap and tasty. Everything seems reliable. Made to order is probably the better option, and definitely the more popular choice. Worth checking out if in this foodcourt!

Located at the food court underneath/behind Woolies, this is one of my picks for the food court. The hainanese chicken rice is a stand out at only $8.50.

The Hainanese chicken rice, Penang char kway teow and nasi goreng are all good at Sayong. Bonus: they're all under ten bucks. This food court is a bit of a hidden gem, located down the stairs inside the building where Woolworths Town Hall is. Entry is via Pitt St in Pittsway Arcade. Note: the photo of the nasi goreng was taken at home because I took it away (plating would obviously be very different if you ate in).

Hidden underneath the townhall Woolworths is a small food court with lots of goodies, great for workday lunch excursions in the CBD. The chicken rice at Sayong was silky albeit a little cold, the rice had a good balance of fattiness and flavours, and the soup was really tasty. At $8.5 it's good value, and cheap enough to shut me up about the abundance of bones I had in my thigh meat. All I can say is, I'll get their breast meat next time.

It was my first visit to the small food court which is outside of my usual lunchtime striking range. The food court was pretty busy when I arrived. Sayong definitely had the longest queues, but the neighbouring Thai looked pretty busy too.

Massive crowds for lunch starting after 12:15-30, get there early if you want to easily get a table. Although the food court is a bit dingy (think hunter connection food court), their Haianese chicken is done traditional way (rice is fried first before it is steamed), chicken is super tender.. You also get the choice of breast or leg. Can't wait to try the other noodle and rice dishes next time!

A Long Standing and Reliable Mate. I realise it is a gem that is hidden in the bowels of a basement below Town Hall's Woolies. My fav choices from here are the char okay teow (wok stir fried rice noodles), Ipoh wat tan hor fun (broad rice noodles in a gravy and served with meat slices and veg), nasi lemak combinations and the Hainan chicken rice. Very reasonably priced, delivery is super fast after one decides and orders. Ah Pang has been running the show for so many years and I am glad he and his staff are still dishing out the best Malaysian street food in my view in Sydney CBD.

Very affordable Malaysian Store location in CBD under the Town Hall Woolsworth Supermarket all around $11+. Their Hainanese Chicken rice, Laksa and Nasi Lemak are the most popular dishes here. I tried the Hainanese Chicken rice it's flavoursome, tasty and really affordable. The Mee siam was not bad but not the type of mee siam flavours I was expected. Heard that the Nasi Lemak is good but it's not available on Saturday. Would recommend everyone to get their Chicken rice here.

Great Laksa in a hard to find, but delightful Malaysian food pod. Look for sign to Pittwater Mall and head downstairs to food court.

Easily the best laksa in town - the taste, heat and texture of the noodles and size are on point + great value for money. You wont find anything that good for 13 roos. Bonus: great Hainanese Chicken or Chicken Rice - lots of umami flavour, juicy chicken despite the serving I got was breast/wings part and the hot sauce is like no other - way better than the ones you find in fancy restaurants for only 11.50 roos. The only downside to this place is it pretty hard to find if you don't know your way around Pitt Street.

This is my favourite place. 1. Price, very low price, around $11+- for most of menu 2. Cleanness : Not the best, but no complaint for the lunch. 3. Service: Unless you buy pre-cooked dishes, you may need to wait bit longer than expected. 4. test: pretty good, and nice feel like just Chinese dish. :) Overall it is good for short lunch, not the best to gathering, or guests.

This hidden gem of a restaurant is an awesome find if you’re looking for an awesome Hainan Chicken Rice. Yes, it’s located in a hard to find arcade but it’s well worth searching for. $10 for a great meal in the CBD - you couldn’t ask for more!

This place is hidden and hard to find. But it has the best Malaysian food in town. I recommend their mee siam, ipoh hor fun, chicken rice, ipoh friend kuoy teow, and singaporean rice noodle. The serving is huge and cheaper than most of the Malaysian restaurant. Highly recommended!

A humble place, located in the "dungeon" below Wollies, provides the best (and probably the cheapest) Hainan Chicken Rice in Sydney CBD. The chicken is moist and the chicken rice is so fragrance. Really recommend this place !!! And they open on Saturday as well (as the other kiosks are closed) !!!
