Trendy spot right in the heart of Erko with beautiful interiors and a small amount of outdoor seating. Serving up Little Marionette Coffee and a brunch menu with a twist - go for the skirt steak and waffle fry w/ watercress!
Stopped by for a post training feed and had a real craving for a steak. Lots of light in this place, friendly service. I had the skirt steak which is stacked on potato waffle with layers of bacon (about 8 rashers actually, its awesome) and then toppped off with a sunny side up egg. No gravy here just a bechamel/onion puree 'sibouise'. Loved it. So embarrassing, i forgot i cancelled my credit card with my bank after some person was putting through fraudulent charges on it and the owner was so understanding he let me leave and grab some cash from a mate who conveniently lives around the corner. Walked past this place heaps of times and will definitely be stopping in more after that!
Amazing place! Absolutely loved the food! Tried the pulled mushroom burger & french toast. Flavours were all on point. Coffee was flawless. Can't wait to go back here again!
We came here for breakfast and ordered the mushroom burger and the chargrilled avocado. I really enjoyed that it was different from all those "classic" brunch places that serve the same food. I loved my mushroom burger, every bite was really tasteful and perfectly cooked. However, I would have preferred it served with something different than fries (a bit heavy for a "breakfast"). Coffee was great. Waiters were nice. Decoration made the place cozy. I will come back for sure!
Never had a bad experience and the bf and i have been there at least 10 times! Its our local brunch spot and its amazing. Perfect small menu of Western cafe food with Japanese and American twists. Standouts include the tatertot waffles, poutine, breakfast bowl and beetroot salad. Also their new strawberry milkshakes are creamy, bubbly heaven. The decor is sooo cute and the staff are always warm and friendly.
On this particular occasion we attended Erskine Villa as paying diners, however we have previously attended the restaurant as invited guests. . Erskineville was formerly owned by a gentleman named "George Erskine" and was best known for serving the community. Back then, the suburb and community was called Erskine Villa.

As a knock-out pop up last year, it was no doubt that Erskine Villa would be here to stay. Serving up the most inventive brunch menu this side of King Street, this café is bold without being weird… for the sake of being weird. “It definitely has the eclectic-ness of Erskineville,” says owner, and longtime local, Ken Cheung, “which has traditionally been a melting pot area of ideas, creativity and different cultures.”Take for instance the Autumn Congee ($17.50), which isn’t your standard rice porridge, but one made with slow cooked salmon, puffed wild rice and crunchy granola.Or there's the Coffee Rubbed Black Angus Skirt Steak ($22.50) served on a deep-fried waffle, with bacon, onion sauce, and a fried egg.I can’t decide if this is the perfect hangover cure, or if the Poutine ($17) should be offered the job? With fries, housemade black pudding, curry sauce, cheese, and a 63 degree egg, it’s...
Been here a few times now. Friendly staff and really good food and coffee everytime we go. The coffee rubbed steak and chargrilled avocado with oxtail jam are my go to dishes here. The chia pudding is also delicious. Highly recommended!
I heard about Erskinevilla from a friend that lives in the area and was pretty easy to find. Me, my partner and 2 friends, arrived at on a Sunday after a big night out and it was buzzing. We were greeted by a friendly waitress who directed us to a table quite quickly. Setting was nice; bright, airy, relaxed and breezy. Our coffees and bloody marys came quickly and is what you would expect from a good inner-west cafe. We also ordered between ourselves a wide spread of the menu, the coffee steak with tatertot waffles, conggee with sous vide salmon, brioche french toast with pbj ice cream and just scrambled eggs to share. Food came out quite quickly given the buzz and was delicious. Our recommendation would be the coffee steak, the crunchy french toast for a hangover.
I would definitely go back and it was overall a very good experience. Friendly service, good coffee, tasty food and nice surrounds for a Sunday.
The friend tells me we should meet at the Villa. On a weekend, it is bustling with warmth, the sunlight bouncing off the copper of the hanging lights and the beautiful tessellating pastel shapes on the wall that make me feel like I've walked into Kikki K :). Except here you can order a glorious coffee to your taste and grab a moreish bite too. We tried the barley salad, which was annoyingly good in that every now and then, the barley would pop with a particular spice that I've definitely tasted before but I can't for the life of me remember now! And gorgeous flavour contrast between the beetroot and the falafel salad. Great place to have a cuppa :)

A newly opened cafe in Erskinville and I got the chance to visit them and try their delicious food by an invitation from Sydneyfdprn :) Went there on a Wednesday for lunch. The place is pretty comfy with their sofas setting and also they got a very good lighting since it was covered by glass window.
Ordered the brekky bowl to share between two. It wasn't huge but it was very pretty and a nice combination of flavours. We got the bacon & sautéed mushrooms as extras which really topped it off. Great coffee & nice staff as well. Fortunately very close to home so will definitely become a regular brekky/coffee spot for me.
bacon and egg rolls are delish. reasonable price point is appreciated also.
first time I had it the side was a dryish tangy slaw, second time is was a kale salad.
i seriously recommend returning to the slaw, the sharpness of it cuts through the sweetness of the bacon and roll and is a winning combo. please revert, I am a local very happy to become a regular for that combination.
Oh!! And forgot to mention. Buy some proper seats/stools for the tables out front. Milk crates are not okay when sat at standard size tables...seriously uncomfortable having to raise your elbows in the air / trying to avoid chin grazings :/
I've eaten here twice now and have been seriously impressed by the food here both times. The Chargrilled Avocado with Oxtail Jam and 62 Degree Egg is seriously the best breakfast dish I have had - I never wanted it to end and ended up licking it off the plate. The poutine is also incredible - it's not on the current menu yet a small amount will be made by the kitchen for die-hard fans. Seriously do it. The staff are always incredible and the owner is a lovely guy dedicated to impeccable service and quality food. Can't wait to be back!
Nice breakfast spot, coffee was good. My favourite dish was the Chargrilled Avocado Piquillo pepper relish, sourdough bread , 63 degree egg, Oxtail jam and egg this was such a unique dish, loved everything about it! Service was good food came out pretty quick.
The Grounds-
Very very busy at lunch . Lots of staff, though very noisy and hard to hold a conversation if seated inside. Would be nice if the girls shorts where not so short and not so tight.
Meals arrived very quickly and very tasty.
Great coffee.

Nice new hipsta joint in town, they still have a little catching up to do with the established players in town.
Food was good with out being great, service was very good and welcoming
Breakfast steak? Sure why not!
Had an amazing breakfast here today. We ordered the coffee rubbed flank steak and the French toast and both were flawless.
If you're getting something that doesn't come with a tatertot waffle I highly recommend you get one on the side.
Service was very friendly as well and left us with a smile.
Would absolutely return, again and again.
I really liked Erskine Villa. I went there on a Saturday night and straight we were greeted by friendly staff. The croquettes are a must and 'the sickest chips' really are the sickest chips! So good! I would definitely go back here!
Dropped in for a casual dinner following a friends recommendation. Put simply the food is innovative and delicious, with the highlights being the tender marinated "brick chicken", up there with the tastiest chicken I have ever had and the deconstructed cheese cake desert, yum!. Prices are very reasonable given the quality and the great food is complemented by a good selection of boutique beers, ciders and wines. The service was efficient and very friendly as well. Highly recommended!
Angelita’s special was sooo good! I loved the puff pastry and spicy coriander. My partner got the Shakshuka and it was very good as well. Also recommend their fresh orange juice ☺️ calm and bright venue, with friendly staff
Found this cozy cafe when I had just transferred to Erko for work. It immediately made me feel welcome to this unique suburb. The staff are always friendly and the coffee is always consistent in quality and flavour. I've tried the pastries here before and they're lovely! I hope to be on a later shift sometime to have some brekky.
Stumbled upon this cafe in Erskinville and it was a very pleasant experience from being greeted by the very friendly staff to the amazing food they have.
I ordered the Telaviv Brekkie while my wife had the Shakshuka. Both were crowd pleasers for sure. :)
Best coffee I’ve ever had in Sydney (visiting from Melbourne). The Shakshuka with eggplant and halloumi was awesome. The lemon and mint frappe was perfect accompaniment to the SHakshuka. Even the tune selection was on point. Forgot to take photo it was so good.
Absolutely lovely place, stopped by for a bite, staff was friendly and the food was great. Had the Shakshuka which was an abundant amount of food
The staff have always been friendly, helpful and punctual by being ready at or sometimes even before the official opening time of 7am on Saturdays and Sundays. The food and coffee is delicious. All in all worth checking out if you're after a tasty take-away breakfast!
I’ve had the best shashouka at this place in a while, the coffee taste so good. definitely recommended!
