This place offer great coffee. Wait for the food is not long. During lunch time, it is a bit hard to get a place to sit as the place is rather small. The staff is very attentive and friendly. It's a place I would visit again.
Buzzing and staffed by friendly staff. You know the guys took pride in their service when my foamy cappuccino arrived with the froth spilling over the rim and onto the saucer and the barista who served me gave a horrified look and told me he’ll make a fresh one straightaway even though to me it’s not a big deal. The mushroom sandwich was juicy, plump and hits the spot. Unpretentious service and good coffee - you’ve got it right.
We have always heard great things about the coffee at Mecca so we finally decided to have lunch here.
We both ordered the same health bowl and we were very pleased with the dish. Not only was it guilt free and healthy, it was extremely flavourful and packed full of fresh ingredients. The service was fast especially for a quick work lunch break and the outdoor seating was great to get some vitamin D!
Mecca is well known for its fantastic coffee and it didn't disappoint. The barista's all have fantastic banter and the coffee comes quickly. I had a Rwandan Maraba Sovu as a filter, which was made as a V6O with plenty of love and attention. I would recommend this place if you are craving a good coffee!
Hands-down, the best mocha and smashed avo in town! What I love about these guys is that they don't try to do everything. They pick a few dishes and execute them to perfection. In fact, their whole menu is delicious. I highly recommend the mushroom sandwich or salad for lunch. I only wish there was a way to order ahead for when I'm pressed for time. Seating is outdoors and can get cold but they've got heaters which help.

When i was in Sydney for work this place became my go to place for my morning coffee! I decided to try their breakfast one day and wasn't dissapointed - the simple combination of ricotta and fennel on toast was so delicious!
Very well known coffee brand because you could their beans throughout cafes in Sydney. So I decided to try their main store. Very small block in the middle of CBD with a tiny indoor area and most seating outside. The had many bags of various coffee beans. They had sleek and stylish coffee machine as the centre piece.
You could either have it there or take away.
Piccolo was good but not the best I had so far. Slightly acidic and bitter but aroma was average. To be honest I expected more but nevertheless it was not bad.

If you believe Coffee is life and when it means that much to you. The. You should be drinking here more often.
These guys have been part of the scene for quite a while now building a cult following over the years, a deserved one at that.
Perfectly roasted house coffee, great baristas, all designed to make your day better
I sometimes visit mecca coffee on king st, CBD. Even they are really busy in the morning, my coffee is always great. I can't forget the moment I had their Ethiopian Dumerso as Short Black. It was one of my best coffee experience in Sydney. As one of leading roasters in specialty coffee industry...
Coffee is on point to say the least. Staff are super friendly. I love the outside tables as you can enjoy a coffee and take in the hustle and bustle of the Sydney CBD. I'd say it's a must try on your trip to Sydney.
Just a hole in wall outside my hotel. This place makes a mean coffee up to my coffee snob standard. Tried their food on day 2, it is plain but tasty and well presented.
Staff is fast. They have a system; just let them do their stuff. Top shelf low budget.
one of my favourites for coffee and absolutely killer service, they always remember you even if its been a while. :D:DWorth a detour tried a few baked goods always tasty as well.
Exceptional coffee in the CBD from stella baristas. Great location, quick service, great staff and high quality coffee. The raisin toast was lovely.
One of the best coffees in the CBD. They also have simple but delicious accompaniment. Banana bread. Avo on toast. Suits love this place...and it gets busy. But it's a great stop if you're close.
Good coffee in the heart of the city. Delivering more coffee goodness to Sydney's city workers, Mecca has a great pavement seating area. The staff are friendly and the coffee is well made.
Renowned for it coffee by others I gave Mecca a try for breakfast. Off the very limited menu I had the bacon milk bun with egg and tomato relish and it was good. Great soft light bread with a slightly running egg and the relish giving it a little kick along. Slightly crispier bacon would have suited me better but on the whole a good alternative to the standard 'bacon and egg' type cafe offering. Coffee is well regarded with good reason. My long black was fierce! 'Do what to do well' seems to work for Mecca.
Mecca cafe has established itself as an institution in the CBD. There's a range of baked goods by Brickfields on offer. After all this time, it's still one of the best spots in the city to grab a smooth flat white.
As usual, we spent our first few days in a new city searching out the best espresso in town. Mecca is the best in Sydney in our humble but well-caffeinated opinion.
Mecca should not be a new name to many in the Sydney coffee world. It’s been a mainstay under the Grace Hotel for a while and has built up quite the following especially now as its Ultimo store won a series of awards (think the SMH good café of the year award).
Awesome coffee. Possibly best in town
The best coffee in Sydney CBD we have had for the past two years. Friendly service is a plus. Kudo!
Walked from the quay to be served a weak uninteresting flat white. Quality has obviously slipped and there's plenty of other good spots nearby so cant see a return trip on the cards for me. Watch out for the sugar pourers too...sugar flies outta those things.
Excellent. Consistently the best coffee around. Don't be put off by the big line in the morning, they run two full size machines to keep up.
Great coffee, good staff. Nice tables. Good heater. Ticks every box.
Great tasting coffee, always busy but friendly service. Well done MECCA boys!
Absolutely the best coffee in Sydney no doubt.
Superb. It's good to see people loving what they do. It comes through in the cup every time. Sydney's finest.
Fantastic! These boys know and love their coffee and it shows. I'm 1hr out of the CBD but would happily come in just for coffee at Mecca :)
Best coffee in CBD. My decaf latte is so smooth. After a crap coffee I had at Max Brenner, this one totally satisfied my cravings. The best coffee I've had in CBD!
Outstanding, but too light and floral.... I love everything about this place except for the nature of the house blend. Service was prompt and kind, everything was fresh and tasty, can fault nothing. I like a darker, more robust blend, but that is just my personal taste. Everyone loves this place.
Sydney's best coffee. I sat down to have a coffee and it was so perfect I had to get another to take away.
One of the best. There's no doubt that the Mecca Espresso boys produce one of the best coffee in Sydney CBD. Their special brewing method has attracted long queues. The latte that I had today was excellent. It had a beautiful after taste that is unique to the coffee bean that they have. This is one of my favourite coffee spots.
Always busy, but for a good reason! Absolutely fantastic coffee!
Me like Mecca. Located at the base of the Grace Hotel, the Mecca boys pump out a fine coffee. There's also a selection of filled panini and pastries
Long ago when I first came to Sydney, I was recommended to come here. Mecca is a superlative Sydney coffee institution. I’ve never had a bad coffee here ever. Whether sitting down for a flat white, getting take away, or smashing an espresso, this place is fantastic.
Consistently good coffees that get pumped out very quickly! Recommend if you’re in the area.
My favourite coffee in the CBD! Smooth and delicious. Not a lot of seats but generally quick turnover of people so most times ok to get a table. Sandwiches also great here. Excellent spot to sit and soak in the business of the city.
Stunning coffee taste to coffee a little cold though (personal taste), knowledgeable staff and great croissants!
Would return 4/5 "I Like It"
Edited Dec 2021.
5/5 still great coffee and top notch service.
'I Love it'
High quality espresso based drinks in downtown Sydney. Pretty limited seating available and the shop is geared more towards takeaway.
Coffee: 4:5 stars
Food: 4 stars
Service: 4 stars
Recommendations: White coffee (latte, cap, flat white, etc)
Service is quite efficient and you will get your drink shortly after ordering. Good place to go for a quick coffee on your way to the office.
They do serve a nitro cold brew here as well. Not the best I've had but definitely better than average. This can be pretty nasty if not done right.
The food menu here is really a concise list of toasts and simple brunch items. I had the Mecca bowl which is a bed of quinoa topped with avocado, egg, spinach, and sweet potato. The dish sounds light but it is really filling. Pretty tasty for a vegan friendly type of dish.
Flat white is good but a bit bland comparing to other cafes
