Very few dishes show any South American influence and they don't serve alcohol, so the name seems out of place.  However, the empanadas had been recommended to me so I kept visiting and on the 3rd visit they finally had some available, and they were good - fried bread style and packed really thick with richly flavoured filling.  $5 isn't cheap but is less than most charge for this level of empanada.  I've also had a mushroom quesadilla, which had great rich flavours and good ingredients and the price was good.  The rest of the place is standard cafe and I found the coffee bitter (but strong and rough in the South American style), so it's hit and miss but the food I've had has been good and the prices are fairly low.

The best empanadas I've tried in Sydney. Great service and nice food. Warm and friendly staff make the experience a pleasure every day. Thanks!

Brunch with a twist. Pisco Sour was an unexpected surprise: a laid-back cafe serving up delicious food with a South American bent, just minutes away from commotion of the inner city. The cafe is pretty limited seating inside but the few tables outside offer a pleasant alternative as they are shaded by trees. Service is warm and friendly.
There were many tempting dishes on the menu and equally drool-worthy baked goods on the front counter. We ended up getting the chicken empanada and the chilli eggs. The chicken empanada had a flaky crust encasing half a boiled egg, olives and tender pieces of meat. It was filling but not too heavy and went well with the side of salsa. The chilli eggs arrived in a small iron pan, 2 perfectly wobbly eggs nestled on a bed of cooked spinach and tomato salsa. There was a nice kick to the sauce but wasn't overpoweringly spicy (though it's all relative to your personal tolerance I guess). We happily mopped the pan clean with the accompanying sourdough. For drinks, the espresso chai latte was a winner. Will definitely be returning to this gem.

I agree with the other reviews! They have the most amazing muffins ever. Baked fresh everyday, you can smell them as you walk by. Service is incredible, and the coffee is delicious! The barista left the cutest little latte art of a bear in my coffee, brightened my day by 10000% 🥰

Cute little cafe on a quiet corner in backstreets of Chippendale. Good coffee, average food but friendly service and relaxed atmosphere.

Pisco Sour Cafe is a good find off the beaten path. Excellent coffee drinks, bakery items (I saw many gluten-free options), as well as, a tasty looking breakfast/lunch menu. All of that with a friendly and attentive staff. Would definitely go back!

They have the most amazing, always freshly baked muffins ever, they are the perfect combination of crust on the outside and fluffiness inside, and they all taste amazing. My favourite is white chocolate and raspberry. Every time I have something happening anywhere close by I make sure I take a detour and get me a couple of muffins. The price is super reasonable specially when you get them with a cup of coffee.

They make amazing coffee and the aroma is awesome. They serve fresh muffins, some of them are gluten free, decent food options for Breakfast and Lunch. Friendly service and out of city rush (but a popular place), perfect to njoy a cup of coffee.

Coffee is fantastic but also had a bacon and egg roll drizzled with chimmichuri, this left me with the most wonderful taste experience. Has me craving for this place all the time.
