Pleasantly surprised at their iced late! Better iced late than a few decent cafes I've been to, and it's a McCafe! I'll definitely be coming back. Great service by staff there and plenty of seating inside.
Good news ... Ronald Mcdonald has ditched the clown suit and is wooing a more refined audience. The vehicle is The Corner by McCafe in Camperdown. Warming the chairs are value-conscious students and RPA Hospital food refugees. I'm right at home with my shoe-string budget and desire for a medically inoffensive lunch.
Surprisingly delicious lunch from McCafe concept store. Grilled chicken and aioli toasted sandwich with salted caramel shake (in a jar!). Sandwich ingredients were fresh and flavoursome and the shake was made with real ice cream (and had toffee chunks). Nice, clean cafe and table service. I want all maccas on a board now.
The food is good enough and the staff are always pleasant. It's a little on the pricey side, but it's filling and satiating. The drinks are definitely overpriced, but this is probably expected.
Gourmet Gumbo chose the pulled pork as her protein of choice, and was very pleased by its flavour. The meat was particularly stringy and every strand was bursting with delicious chipotle seasoning. The tomato chilli jam was seriously hot, and one mouthful needed to be doused with several mouthfuls of water. The addition of macadamia nuts added a lovely crunch to salads!
Good quality at low prices. A McDonald’s café concept that serves some great food options and a tasty cup of coffee. From Raisin toast or banana bread for breakfast through to a freshly made wrap.
For a McDonald's restaurant, this cafe is quite different in that it's located next to the hospital, and therefore most likely has tried to tailor it's menu for the more appropriate health industry. Breakfast options are healthy, however you can still order a bacon and egg roll, which has spinach on it. The hash browns are identical to what you would get at a regular McDonald's.
Their lunch menu offers a selection of options, from loaded fries to a simple toastie, yoghurt, or banana bread. Coffee is hit and miss here, I think it really depends who is making it as I've had burnt coffee and great coffee from here. In my opinion the coffee here is still better than what you would get at the hospital next door!
Good location with plenty of seating inside and outside. Very clean. Overall, professional service with a clean, welcoming environment.
Is this a McDonalds or a regular cafe? I am confused. I ordered a toastie and a takeaway coffee. The toastie was tasty, but I was extremely disappointed in the inexact manner in which my toastie was sliced. It was incredibly difficult to eat this due to the disproportionate sizes (see photo).
Actually it was all surprisingly good for a McCafe.
I love grabbing lunch here. The meals are healthy and delicious. In fact they serve some of the healthiest meals one can find for lunch!
The service is quick and for those dining in there is table service! Coffee is pretty decent as well.
Food is not too bad. Some of it still tastes quite processed however it's healthier than the traditional McDonalds. Sometimes the coffee line takes a while but being next to a hospital the staff need their fix!
