This place rocks! Have tried everything on the the $8.90 lunch menu and have never been disappointed. Sevrings are generous and they never skimp on meat. Well done guys!
I have been dining there over the years since 2010. Bit pricy but great food , great taste , even though outlook not that cosy. My favourite dish here Thai king prawn fried rice ( very hot no sugar ) . Waitress & chef , remember that every time I been . Just ask the waitress, the way you like it and they customise the dish for you which lot of average Thai restaurant wouldn't because their sauce are already made .
One of my favourite places for a fix of cheap Thai food. The items on the menu are decently priced and you get great serving sizes with each of the mains.
We ordered from here on Sunday night via menulog because we were too hungover to fend for ourselves. Vegetarian spring rolls were deliciously crunchy with a rich inside; pad Thai was perfect - even when heated for lunch the next day; we also has a green curry and rice - the rice was a bit too fluffy but still solid mix. Would order again. I'd take photos but nothing looks good in a take away box.
I love this place, I live 40 mins away, but when I feel like going on a cruise to grab something to eat but not wanting to dress up, I'll drop by here. Great Thai food, it's fast and the staff are always friendly. Really chilled vibe and it's quiet (well every time I've been here it's been quite empty) it is more of a take away place so I'm guessing a lot of the locals buy their food and take it home instead of eating there but it does have a few tables outside and inside.
I think I just really like this place because it's in a quiet location and because the food is good. 👍🏼
Amazing! Such delicious authentic Thai. I will be getting this on the regular. Good serving sizes at a good price. Really delicious flavours, everything you want when you want a good Thai feed.
Got lost, wandered into this.. Although I live in newtown, I've never been to the DT there. We went to visit a friend somewhere in the area, got lost and wandered in here. Had a pad see eew and it was quite good with good quantities of ingredients.

The best Thai food for the best price, these will a plate on your table in less than 5 mins. Great little diner.
Super quick service and great food! I had beef fried rice and prawn pad see ew. So good!
Bare-bones decor and service but Unexpectedly good food at great prices! Had the BBQ lamb, very succulent.
Hands down best Thai I've ever had. I live in Marsden Park and I still do the 1 hr trip into the city to bring the Mrs to this Thai restaurant. Been going here since 2008 and my opinion hasn’t changed, even now. Green curry, Beef with oyster sauce, Pad Thai (amazing!), stuffed chicken wings and money bags was our last meal in the pics. So good can’t wait to go back!!
The most fresh and flavourful authentic Thai food I've had in a long time! Can't wait to go back!
Walk pass here so many time finally decided to try the food here. They have good lunch special. Try their $12 Iso Lunch Sets I order the Charcoal Chicken noodle Salad with Sesame Mayo Dressing + Mini Spring rolls. It was tasty and generous salad portion. The green tea noodle with sesame mayo dressing was good. Will come back again to try more of their thai food.

This Doy Tao is very different to the Newtown outlet. Whereas Newtown is a table service restaurant, this is labelled as “express”. And that it is, for you order at the counter inside and your food comes out almost as quick as you order it. There’s a few tables outside, but no other diners when we visited, but plenty of takeaway and delivery drivers.
The food menu is extensive, with an array our your Thai favourites; their signature dishes, seafood, proteins, smaller entrees, curries, stir fries, salads and sides. Using fine ingredients to produce meals with colour, texture, fragrant smell and great taste, the food is high quality. However, the first half of their menu to be quite expensive but fairly standard prices for the stir fries and curries.
For an entree, the bbq octopus was nicely grilled and marinated in Thai herbs with a sweet chilli sauce.
We ordered the seafood thai salad, a refreshing dish of grilled seafood; squid, king prawns, scallops and fish fillets. In a lovely sweet sauce on a bed of lettuce, we thoroughly enjoyed this one.
Their pad thai is one of the better ones we’ve had. The popular thai rice noodle dish was made with its usual egg, roasted peanuts and sprouts and we chose to have it with tofu, veg and an extra chicken add on.
A causal fuss free meal that tastes good. What more does one need.
Place is amazing. Better Thai at these prices cannot be had. To everyone complaining about the service, it's not even bad - you want to have a chat to the waiter, go pay 3 times more in the city. This is an express, the food is quick and delicious.
