This place is wonderful.
While the sandwiches’ price points seem normal (for the inner west of course), the portion size is amazing. I had to takeaway half to eat it for dinner. Even when the toasted bun lost its crunch, I found it very tasty.
Their current soup of the day, toasted zucchini, was also a pleasant surprise. The base has a lightness to it that couples so well with the sprinkled danish feta. I didn’t care for the zucchini noodles, but then again I hate “noodlefied” veggies in general (what’s the point???). The soup came with two pieces of easy white bread.
Tldr: GREAT PLACE!

Great little Cafe. Food was fresh tasty and well priced. Lamb ragu gnocchi was yummy. Coffee smooth.
The service was fast and friendly.
Outdoor sunny seats as well.

This is a little hidden gem at the back of Newtown and RPA. They have some fresh snacks like cheese tarts and muffins along with to order dishes from the kitchen. Coffee is quick and good. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The seating is cozy and also has an outdoor area in pleasant surrounds.

It’s not on the Newtown Main Street makes this cafe Local feeling. I had banana bread take away which was fine, would love to try proper meal next time.

Great little local cafe with good coffee, no fuss breakfast menu and a chilled out atmosphere. I had the Cordial breakfast with poached eggs. The toast was amazing, and it's the only place in Sydney that I've found that serves a real sausage with their "big breakfast".

I have given Cordial 3 stars instead of my previous 5. I have been at cordial a few times over the past 8 weeks and something has changed. The tables and floor are clean. The hot chocolate I had today was beautiful. I have enjoyed the food here but it's not as good as it was. The food over the past 8 weeks has been ok, but it used to be so much better. Perhaps there has been a change of owner or chef. I'm happy to go back and see if it changes but I'm also happy to try other places now.

It looks nondescript but Cordial does some amazing food - some of the best muffins I have ever had, and incredible hot cakes. Some of their lunch dishes are not amazing, but decent, their toasties are simple but good. Their coffee is great too, and their soy coffee hardly tastes like soy at all which I like.

Overall what great coffee. It’s hard to believe that basically on the same block as Campos a small nondescript cafe can really come out swinging. While not the most appealing place to sit if the weather is poor, on a nice sunny morning, like it was today, it’s outside appeal is welcomed, while a little off many King street drinkers radar, this true local is worth checking out.

Great coffee. No hipsters making coffee, no uber-cool decor and 1km from my work. <br/>But this is where I stop every morning to get my coffee, even though there are closer cafés. Coffee consistently good [also apparently the soy version], the best muffins [light and fruity] for miles and friendly staff.

The people that work at cordial are very friendly, but they really can't make a coffee (walk around the corner to campos). I haven't tried their food, maybe they are better at that.

It's very cloudy day,so we sit inside, nice and cozy... Yes, we back, after few weeks that we had brunch in Surry hills and Glebe. Then cordial's menu has been changed. Surprise.... The classic black base menu, also more stuff on the menu. Especially Smoked salmon bruschetta, really yummy. Friendly waiter...Great experience in Cordial!!!

My fave cafe - the best coffee in Newtown!. By far the best coffee; particularly if you like it full bodied and strong. They use Golden Cobra beans, locally roasted. You can even take some home. Full breakfast and lunch menu, homemade muffins (gotta be quick!) and other snacks.<br/>Staff are friendly and helpful - lots of regulars.
