Went here to grab a takeaway meal.
Dish: katsu don.
Portion was quite generous and tasted pretty good.
Might come back to try their other dishes.

Cheap, fast and convenient are just a few things that makes this place great - $8.50 for a katsu don is awesome especially as their portions are huge and comes with a bit of miso soup. Average taste but value for money and friendly service - will be back to try their udon.

Don't let the photo of my una don deter you. When it was originally served in the dine-in bowl it looked as nice as the photo on the menu board & it was served with miso soup. However I actually ordered it takeaway. So when I told them, they sopped the bowl's content into the takeaway container for me, and no miso soup. Aside from this the food actually tasted really great. The sushi rice was nice & soft, the sauce was a balance of sticky salty & sweet. The omelette egg & eel were just right. One of the pricier item on menu at $13, but still probably cheaper than a normal restaurant.

This food court which houses all the Asian cuisines, is my favourite foodcourt in the CBD. And within that foodcourt, Momiji is the one I rate the highest (so far, as I am yet to try all of them). Seriously great value and good serving sizes - I have no reason not to go back! I've tried the udon which was very tasty and generous with the mountain veggies, and the three choice combo where you get rice/noodle and your choice of pre-made sides. Wasn't as good as the made to order, but if you're in a rush or simply want to try what they have on offer, it's still worth getting. They also offer brown rice at no extra cost which I don't think you can find at a lot of places (let alone brown rice in general). Will be going back for the udon very soon! 👍

Yakisoba wrapped in egg, rice, croquette and salad, all for $9.50. Not bad for value. Everything was good except there was burnt yakisoba. I really liked the croquette though, very crispy. Miso soup included. Friend had plain tonkotsu ramen for $7.90, not enough noodles but still nice. Good location and service, happy to try other dishes.

Came back to try their tonkotsu fried garlic ramen. Yum. $10.

A hidden gem Located behind woolworths at town hall in an Asian food court that has about 7 or so food stores offering various dishes from Bain Marie's or special orders. The food is made quickly and there was ample seating. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and the broth was very tasty. I would visit again.

I love this Japanese takeaway place. It is run by Japanese family and the flavours of the hot food are your typical authentic Japanese home-cooking. The price is very reasonable for a good hearty lunch in Sydney CBD. It's $7 with 3 choices! Go for the Japanese beef curry, fried fish nanban, tofu & veggies, gyoza or the miso eggplant. You get a bowl of complementary miso soup if you eat in. There is fried rice, brown rice or yakisoba noodle to choose from. This tiny takeaway kiosk is so popular with the local workers and Japanese families, they are one of the key food stalls/sponsors for the lunch bento box at the Sydney Japanese School annual fete.

Good cheap lunch eat. You have to hand it to this place, tucked away in the snake pit foodcourt behind Woolworths. They have an extensive range of donburi and udon noodle dishes, as well as a handful of sushi and ramen options. Or alternatively, you can get the 2 or 3 options with rice from the bain-marie. The service is friendly and the food is good value and tasty. No wonder it's been here for so long, 20+ years.

I can only comment on the udon and donburi - all of which (save the gyotamadon, just not all that appealing) have been delicious. I'd recommend the sansai ('mountain vegetable') udon if you're feeling under the weather, and the unadon or even the humble oyakodon, if you need something to keep you going.

Cheap & cheerful. Located in the asian food court next to Woolworths Metro, this little hole-in-the-wall eatery dishes up some standard Japanese fare to the workers in the area, or the odd tourist that has lost their way. You won't be amazed by the food but at least it'll fill the stomach

Momiji has been established since 1989. Located in the hidden Pittsway Arcade next to Woolworths in Town Hall. It offers very good Japanese dishes at very reasonable budget. The staff are very friendly.

I just tried a random meal item on the menu called Hiyashi Chuka but it was reaaally good. Not an exaggeration to say that it was one of best Japanese dish I have eaten in Sydney, and for a really good value ($11) too. It's such a hidden gem in a worn down looking food court. The owner also seems really nice. It's a shame they don't open for dinner. Would definitely, definitely recommend!

OG japanese take away, used to come here all the time during my uni days. The food is authentic and very affordable, esp for CBD! I had the oyako don with miso soup, all for $10 and was delicious~

Had the ramen and the unagi don. They are both great. The chef is Japanese so the taste is on point.

Honest Japanese food court stall, serving up the best priced homestyle Japanese cooking. A blessing to office workers in the area.

Good quality food, $10 lunch special. 3 choices and steamed rice. Vegetables were fresh and had good flavour to them. The Pork omelette was also good quality, healthy portion. Will visit again.

Great value, excellent service. At $13, the una don is not only wallet-friendly (considering other restaurants in the city change much higher prices) but also hearty.

Mayo tori don was one of the best dons I’ve ever had. Absolutely phenomenal.
