The cheese tarts and pafu here are amazing. So soft, fluffy, tasty and not too overly sweet. The texture just melts in your mouth from the first bite and I prefer these to the tarts from PABLO. However, if you wanted sweeter tarts then you may like the ones at Pablo better as the Hokkaido Cheese Tarts are creamier and less flavourful.Instagram: @sydneyfoodreviewer

original flavored cheese tart was delicious . Friendly fast service. Got it straight from their oven so it was nice and warm. Ordered box of six tarts. We placed one tart in our fridge, one in microwave, and one in our freezer and they were even better when cold, Extra Hot, and frozen. Fun to try them at all the different temperatures. Yum! Packaging was very nice and box was easy to carry with handle.
⭐️The crust is sweet and delicious taste like childhood memories of Arnott scotch finger. Cheese filling is gooey but so good.

Super yummy cheesetart. Tried the original, blueberry and yuzu. All yummy, original is my favourite though. Not overly sweet. Texture is the best part, silky and ‘gooey’ filling almost, more so than the tarts at tetsu or pablo. Staff were friendly quick and professional. Highly recommend. So yum!

we just can’t resist ourself but peeking at those perfectly baked tarts 🤤 And finally we are very lucky to have the chance to try these cheesy tarts! As a big fan of Japanese sweets, original cheese tart will never go wrong‼️ They are very creamy in flavor but not as dense as cheesecakes which we enjoyed it a lot. The seasonal yuzu flavor has turned out to be our favorite, adding the yuzu(pomelo) sourness to the original tart, made it even more refreshing, and we love it 😍 Overall, their tarts would be one of our first choices when craving for light snacks👌🏻Also, can’t wait to try for more interesting seasonal flavors💕

Boy did we do alot of eating today. Cheese tarts are delicious here but honestly, nothing beats Uncle Tetsu's cheese tarts as I prefer the denser texture if that make sense.

This joint has just reopened and merged with PAFU. Although I havent tried the cheese tarts, I had to try the PAFU pastries as I have had my eye on the macquarie Park joint for a while now. The pastry was delicious! It had a buttery and salty pastry with a creamy custard apple inside. It would’ve tasted a little better with crystallised sugar on the pastry but it was still a winner. The service was also great, super friendly staff.
A recent visit to World Square had me following my nose Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tarts! I tried the Pablo Cheese Tart in Tokyo and decided to give these ones a try. The texture is not at all like a cheesecake as one might expect, the cheese custard is deliciously gooey with a slight cheesy tang. The blistered baked top is slightly like a cheese curd, all this encased in a buttery crisp shell! I'm not a fan of overly sweet desserts and these little treats hit the spot very well!
Although these tarts are expensive, they smell and taste incredibly delicious. They're alot creamier and lighter than a usual cheesecake - I would definately recommend giving these a go, I personally love them!
These baked cheesecakes are so delicious and you don't really have to feel guilty eating them because they're so small!
Loving that they have a few different flavours - blueberry is my fave but you can't go past the original either.
Definitely one to try. They're great hot or cold and is the perfect snack.
Prices aren't too bad and the service is quite good.
I'm pleased to report that these little tarts are as good as they look! I tried the blueberry flavour, and it was excellent. The custard is so silky, not overly thick like you might expect from a 'cheese tart' and the blueberry jam in the bottom of the tart (and dolloped on top) was a welcome addition of sweetness. The tart crust is buttery and soft without being too crumbly. All elements of the tart are clearly well considered and so well executed - loved it.
Nice little snack option whilst walking through the city. Not a massive cheese fan but still liked the tart. It wasn't as cheesy as I thought. More like custard texture. Slight sweetness to it. Recommend trying but in saying that it didn't leave me thinking that I need to come back for more.
Absolutely love their cheese tart! It's perfect when it's just out of the oven. Also tried their chocolate tart and it's as amazing. I always have to go for the box of 6 since it's too good just to get one.

Pro-tip: go when they're aren't lines though.
You don’t need to know the exact location of Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart, just follow the heavenly scent of freshly baked cheesy goodness that goes throughout the World Square Complex. The tarts are a deliciously creamy and cheesy treat, definitely worth trying out!. Also perfect for takeaway in the bright turquoise pack that can easily be transported.

We had a go at the Hokkaido Cheese tarts the other day to see what was making these tiny tarts so popular. The service was quite good, and the staff were patient with us as we sorted out our box order which was great to see. The little tarts have a slightly burnt cheese smell, but it is a cheese tart afterall! The tart itself is ultra rich, and to be honest it is a little too much for my liking. I felt so full after just 1! The pastry is average - it doesn't quite have the buttery flake of good quality pastries. To be fair the entire tart is definitely loaded with butter.
This is definitely worth the money and the calories. Ive tried the ones in uncle tetsu, but this is 101% better. Luckily weve got the freshly baked out of the oven cheese tarts and they were the best ive tasted. It has a crispy outer crust that holds that gooey cheesy awesomeness. Maybe the only downside was the price, it is $3.9 a piece. But it is too good, ill definitely come back for more.
Beer may help few people get over a long hard day at work. Well, Hokkaido does it for me. The fragile texture of the pastry is perfect, as the gooey cheese just melts in your mouth. The slightly burnt top part of the cheese acts as a perfect surprise layer to what lies underneath. While you would expect it to be quite sweet, the sweetness is not at all overpowering. A perfect stress-reliever.
As far as the new addition of the chocolate tart is concerned, I choose not to rate it as i have a dry-fruit bias towards desserts; I don't like it. While the chocolate is quite gooey and is complemented by the pastry, I prefer the original tart.
I think the big draw for most people here is the name value sating the need for some novelty or new excitement not so much the genuin appreciation of food if you like. At any rate, still tasty bread products.

There are two mainstream cheese tart options in Sydney. I prefer Hokkaido for their tart, the other one (uncle T) for their filling.
The new chocolate tart is interesting. The almond on top give it a nice crunch and flavour.
The question is not what to get here (they sell one thing & one flavour only), the question is how many! Only got one this time for a quick snack. It was still warm by the time I got it home. The tart shell was quite soft & crumbly. The filling was smooth, but distinctly cheesy, sweet. Overall not bad, but I prefer the Uncle Tetsu ones...

We had heard so much about the Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart when it first opened early this year however the lines were so long that we decided to wait until the hype had settled down. The cheese tarts are best enjoyed warm, they are so creamy without being too sweet and I found them less rich than Uncle Tetsu's cheese tarts. At $3.90 a pop they are not cheap, but definitely a great sweet treat!
Super gooey and creamy cheese tart. more gooey compared to Uncle Tetsu's. The tart is a bit too crumbly though. But I would definitely recommend this. Can be quite sickening if eaten to much lol.
I really love their Cheese Tarts, although $3.9 each might be a little bit high for me as I can finish it up in 39 seconds. (Sounds like eating money.) Anyway, the tart tastes yummy and I love the creamy cheese center.
And the shop itself is located underneath the world square shopping center, next to coles. No other products, just wonderful cheese Tarts, best for snacks.
This tiny outlet in World Square is located near the Coles and Miracle supermarket has really good baked cheese tarts. The pastry crumbles nicely and the cheese is so soft and velvety that once you bite into it the cheese just oozes out. At close to $4 per tart it's not cheap but worth a try
After trying uncle tetsu cheese cake, I didn't have high expectation for the cheese tart. The queue was crazy when it opened, but not much recent weeks.
So, I tried, and loved it.
It can be warmed, chilled or even frozen. My favourite is chilled, it doesn't go solid even when left in the fridge. The fillings are so smooth.
The crust is nice too, short and sweet. The cheese part is not overly sweet, it is good compliment. I don't mind the thickness at all.
It is not cheap treat if you think about the size, but definitely worth to try.
Not sure how "Hokkaido" related to this tart, but much better than uncle tetsu cake...
Great service and amazing tarts although I do recommend for those Hokkaido cheese lovers out there to try Uncle Tetsu's tart because they're both very similar, yet different and at this moment, I think it's fair to say they're both champions.
I read about the long queues when this place first opened but luckily when we went to World square on Sunday afternoon, there was none. Still, I noticed many people getting the tarts to takeaway and since I was there my husband and I decided to get one each to try.
Yes it is pricey for one tart but we just had to try and it's surprisingly good. We couldn't wait, so devoured their tarts straight after we purchased it so it was still warm. I like the fact it's not as sweet as the egg tarts/Portuguese tarts but yes it's something I'm glad I got to try so I can tick it off my list.
I was sceptical....But these little tarts are amazing. So soft and creamy. It literally drips after you bit into it. If they weren't a little exxy I would eat lots and lots.
I really love the cheese part but the crust was too thick even though it was crispy. The service needs some improvements, it was so slow🙄🙄

Who'd have thought there would be queues outside a small place that basically just sells small baked cheese tarts? We suppose the owners did - because that's what happened and still happens. This place was very popular when it opened a little while back, and it still is at certain times. . So what are these delicacies anyway? They are a thin shortcrust-like pastry shell holding molten cheese that tastes slightly sweet and it has been browned a bit on top from the baking process.
It taste good, the center was creamy! The crust was crunchy but too thick for me ... but most of the cheese tart was burned at the center

A dreamy and creamy dessert. They only sell one thing and that is the cheese tart which they do very well. They are open till 8pm Mon-Thurs and 9pm Friday.
Is this really from Hokkaido? Who knows! Interesting texture it's like thick cheese gravy and I like it! The crust was nice,not too thick but once I took it out of its aluminium cup it started to fall apart! Can't have too many,I don't think my stomach could handle more than 2
First time trying these tarts & I regret not getting 1000000. We got 2 tarts, for two people - huge mistake!

Loved the texture and flavour! A workmate brought this in and it has won me over. The flavour is light and cheesy without going overboard. The pastry was nice and short too, which added a nice crunch to the tart. I will be back for some more!
This cheese tart is so delicious!! The crust is a tad too thick for my liking but that cheese tart filling is heavenly!! There have original, blurry, strawberry and they recently added a yuzu flavour. I think the blueberry one is the best. There is no seating but you don't need a table to gobble this up on the spot.

come here for a few times now and they alway sold out, and then finally one day got a chance to purchase the famous cheese tart, we order 2 to try first and i got to say, it probably the best cheese tart in city right now. It does taste like cheese , egg is not overwhelming cheese and the base is also nice.
The perfect balance of sweet & savoury. The baked cheese was creamy and literally oozing from the tart with every bite. Although I do prefer a more flaky tart base, this tart base was still lovely and buttery and when eaten fresh it crumbles in your mouth adding a beautiful texture to the creamy cheese filling. Will be back for more!!!!
So simple yet very addictive. Every weight you'll gain from eating each cheese tart is all worth it! I can easily devour a box of these cheese tarts. The only downside is that you can only buy maximum of six tarts.
Ah, what would the world be without new tasty treats. A world pretty damn short of new tasty treats, I’d say. So, spotting this pop-up counter in the basement of World Square: I mean, we had to try it, right? Though I knew nothing about them. Great packaging of course, as the Japanese do so well. And the tiny tarts looked like the pastry might not be very interesting or flaky. Instead it was a great short pastry, crisp and flavourful.
Located underneath world square, Hokkaido Cheese Tart was THE new craze when it launched with queues going for an hour. When I went it was down to 15 min wait. The cheesy flavour is quite strong and the texture is a little more dense than custard tarts. At $4.70 a pop, it isn't cheap either. Personally I prefer the portugese tarts more.
I was enticed by the smell to try these tarts. It wasn't busy so was able to head straight to the counter and pick up my tarts straight away.
These fit in your hands snuggly, I found it easier to eat with both hands to make sure none of it fell on my clothes as I was sitting.
I did not really know what to expect of these tarts & by a quick look some might mistake these as a portugese type tart as it looks slightly similar.
The pastry is more like short crust pastry, and crumbles in big chunks. The filling is gooey and not so sweet. I agree with the other reviewer here, this is perfect for the person who is not so much of a sweeth tooth but still wants something for dessert.
If it had not been for us having dinner soon I would've easily eaten 5! Ok joking, maybe 2 or 3.
As expected on the opening day the queue was very long and we decided to wait. A couple of weeks later when we came back, there was no queue whatsoever! The custard was not too dissimilar to Portuguese egg tart at Yum Cha but savoury and dense. The short crust pastry was still warm when we got it but it was still nice hours later. We ate one warm on the spot and finished the rest later in the day after it was chilled in the fridge. I like both, served either warm or chilled. It is reasonably priced at $3.9 per tart, not too bad.
Actually really liked this cheese tart especially having it warm so the cheese is soft and gooey. Pretty pricey for one tart but would recommend to try it - looks like a Portuguese tart but taste is anything but.
There have been rave reviews for these baked cheese tarts at my office, and today I finally had the opportunity to walk down to World Square to try one for myself.
Simply put, they are very tasty. The pastry is perfect and crumbly, and the cheese filling is creamy, ever so slightly runny, and ever so slightly sweet. The resulting combination is a tart that strikes an excellent balance between both the sweet and the savoury.
My only slight criticism is that my tart could have been warmer - unfortunately, I was not lucky enough to have a tart fresh from the oven. Nonetheless, the taste was excellent, and although small, $3.90 is not an unreasonable price point. Overall, they are well worth a try!

Hokkaido's tarts can only be described as more "milkier" and less sweet, than the competitive stores. The cheese level is packed, but not overbearing.
Its slightly pricey for its size. It's $3.90 per tart, but definitely worth it.
