We came here and ordered a bunch of meats, seafood, vegetables and salads to grill. We also ordered the tempura udon noodle. The dishes were all nicely presented and freshly made. However portions are quite small.

Nice food, good taste, but dislike the touch screen for placing orders, that thing is so stupid and can't move!

Nice Japanese wagyu beef. We love their pork belly, full of flavour !!! This was our second time and they have been consistent with their food quality which is fresh. However, you might find it a bit pricey. If you come on the lunch time, you can order their lunch bento and will not cost as much as their BBQ.

I havenā€™t been to a great deal of Japanese barbecue places but I really enjoy going to Taisho. The food is quite expensive if you select the a la carte option, but the buffet is worth the money if you plan to eat a lot (itā€™s about $78 per person). Note that there is a surcharge on all credit cards and they donā€™t accept American Express.

The mixed meat plate is a huge serving, it might be bigger than you expect. All the meat is very good quality. The sashimi is good and I quite like the gyoza ā€“ not too dry or bland.

I like the relaxed vibe of Taisho. They also have an upstairs area so thereā€™s quite a bit of room inside. Even when busy, it doesnā€™t get crowded. Really the only downside is that it can be a little expensive.

Newly open Japanese joint in Zetland, I decided to try one day. The menu was quite extensive, although I have to say it is more on the pricey side, the portion was quite generous. We actually over ordered for 2 person, thinking they were entree sizes as usual. I probably wonā€™t return in a hurry, considering I can get similar tasting sushi for less in the city.

In celebration of FCBA's second anniversary, a special lunch event was held at Taisho's new store in Zetlands. For those that have never ventured to Mascot, you wouldn't have heard of Taisho's flagship store (join the boat, guys), which specialises in BBQ wagyu beef.

The restaurant is located on street level of the East Village shopping centre, close to the car park entrance so you can't really miss it. Lined with double-storey windows, the restaurant provides ample natural light inside and the interior decor naturally draws the eye from the ground floor to ceiling.

Taisho Japanese Wagyu BBQ Ā is a newly opened restaurant in the East Village Shopping Centre in Zetland. The name Taisho comes from the title of a Japanese Era presided over by Emperor Taisho, and also the title of the military rank Major General and now only the best chefs in Japan can be named Taisho. To be Taisho means to have the techniques of a Major General with the foundation of fresh ingredients. Taisho Restaurant adheres to these principles by sourcing only the best ingredients daily. The traditional flavours and meticulous techniques results in a cuisine that is high quality and homely.

great quality of wagyu. interesting way to order since they put tablet on each table and the food came fast! the waitress was friendly and nice ambience as well. one of my favourite is the wagyu yukke (entree), wagyu short ribs, and ox beef tongue. oh! the seaweed egg soup and black sesame ice cream were also good! We really had a great time!

I have been coming here for a while now and overall it is pretty consistent in terms of service and food, which is fantastic; nothing worse than unmet expectations.

This place is usually busy, but if you don't mind sharing tables then you'll have no problem grabbing a seat. There is the option of BBQ buffet or a la carte. I've not had the BBQ buffet but it looks good whenever I see the staff walk by with giant plates of food.

From the a la carte I've had the Wagyu Ramen, Deluxe Sashimi, Mixed Sashimi Rice Bowl, Chicken Karaage, Beef Tataki, Takoyaki, and Tempura Prawns. Without a doubt, all dishes were delicious in particular the Wagyu beef and the Oyster Sashimi.

$35-$40 for two mains.

We had buffet, $68 per person. Definitely worth your money. Service was really quick and friendly.

The quality of the meat is really nice and tender. The sushi was nice but it came in really big size. The scallops were nice, I liked it with the butter but my family preferred it without butter (you can take it off yourself). Try not to order too many scallops, because that made us feel sick afterwards. The karaage chicken and sashimi (king fish & salmon) were also good. Overall the food was very good.

Must get the ice cream, they had matcha green tea, black sesame and vanilla. I had all the flavours twice hahah.

We were lucky enough to score an invite to FCBAā€™s 2 year anniversary at Taisho Japanese Restaurant in the East Village Zetland. What an exciting way to celebrate. If you donā€™t know FCBA, they are a wonderful community of Food Critics and Bloggers (and Instagrammers and general lovers of food) that have regular meet ups to bring like-minded people together. They hold events at different cafes and restaurants, where members are in a draw to secure a spot at one of these meet ups. We chat all things food, take photos, feed them to Instagram and all our social pages.

Taisho Wagyu Japanese BBQ is the newest restaurant to hit Zetland and I predict that the locals will absolutely love this place which is their second venue in Sydney. They also have other Japanese favourites on their menu. Matt and I are really lucky to join the FCBA crew to celebrate their 2nd anniversary with my fellow passionate food blogger and reviewer friends at Taisho Wagyu Japanese BBQ. Taisho has just opened its second restaurant in Sydney at East Village in Zetland. This Japanese BBQ is loads of fun in a beautiful setting. It's not just BBQ we also tried the sashimi, sushi, gyoza and tempura veggies. Choose your quality meats and cook them along with veggies as you chat with friends. There are tables seating 4 and larger tables for groups.

Went there for fcba's birthday bash. We were served with delicious and fresh sashimi/sushi. Crispy and perfectly battered tempura and marbled wagyu (bbq style).

Because it was an event we didnt really get to experience the customer service in full effect, however when asked for soy sauce and calpis to two different waitresses, they were slightly confused, but we got our calpis and soil sauce nonetheless.

For me, food was on point, this is a new restaurant and i think they are really putting their best foot forward with the best and freshest ingredients. I really hope the quality and standards will keep up, if it does, Taisho will be a japanese bbq hotspot in zetland.

My only recommendation is to include green tea to the menu! Maybe some genmaicha or matcha

First time at a Japanese BBQ. I tried their classic Japanese food like sushi, sashimi and tempura. The fish is so fresh and they are generous. And the wagyu was so tasty. This so social to enjoy this BBQ food with friends. 2 free hours parking which is convenient !
