Holy burgers! I signed up on an app called The Burger Collective and found a promo deal with this burger joint. $4 burger and drink combo!
I got takeaway, so I can’t say much about the ambience of the restaurant. It did look super cool inside. I can say that if you have a hangry girlfriend, do take her here. You will be forgiven.
Overall the burger had a great taste to it. However the patty was just a little over on the well done side. So maybe asked for the patty to be cooked medium rare. But can’t complain, as I only paid $4!
I loved this place and would give 4.5 if Zomato still let me do that. I like the American diner idea of having booths as it provides a bit of privacy and makes even busy restaurants feel that bit more cozy. Honestly, I loved the aesthetic of the entire restaurant, it's the sort of place that you want to eat at before you even read the menu. Speaking of the menu, there is a large selection here, obviously inspired by the cuisine of Brooklyn. It's extremely flavoursome and more-ish, though I could've done with a warning on the menu of how spicy my nachos were going to be; they were great, but I also went through my entire table bottle of water!
Would certainly recommend this place generally however, I will definitely be revisiting when I get a chance.
HEY FRANKY! TAKE A LOAD OF THIS GUY! HEY I’M WALKING HERE!
The waiters and waitresses might as well should have been yelling this because both my partner and I felt like we were transported to Brooklyn itself. The vibes were cool and inviting, and I was quite sure my partner was frothing at the mouth like a rabid dog on heat for some juicy burgers. He kept asking me to call him “Lil Joey from the streets”. Well, Lil Joey sure did love the food at Brooklyn depot. The fried chicken and sauce? Lil Joey gave a thumbs up. The burger? Two thumbs. Service?? Hell, Lil Joey somehow managed three thumbs.
Love this little joint at Surry Hills! Open early close late coupled with wonderful staff. Am a big fan of the naked burger. Good selection of beverages to go with the food.

Get my weekend lunch Today in here with the bun off and get some house salad.. the burger of the month is my fav Crispy turkey with cranberry mayo and crumb Pattie and gravy.
The other one are They fav menu for all time with mozarella stick!!!
Hot spot for a fun night out. Large menu so a fantastic variety to choose from. The French Toast Toastie was outstanding and the thick shakes were worth treating yourself to. Save room for dessert as the Nutella Creme Brûlée was a Must !! All in all good food and great atmosphere.
Choices for dayssssss - the best part about coming to depot, every visit is a new visit, never run out of something new to try 😍 definitely get around their loaded fries, with 'frickles' (deep fried pickles?!) and alcoholic shakes!
Lobster mac & cheese. These were the words I have been waiting to read since my 2014 trip to the US. The concept was the same but the execution was different. Pretty good though.
The restaurant/bar had a funky vibe and is pretty much on trend. It would be a great venue bring a group, except they don't take bookings.
If you love big American-style burgers and a tasty twist on traditional American cuisine, you’ve hit the jackpot with Brooklyn Depot.
The burger and cocktail bar have recently expanded their menu to include a variety of share plates that taste just like the all American classics, but look very different from them! Take the Cheeseburger Empanadas or the Lobster Mac and Cheese for example – deliciously different🍔🧀🍗
They also have a superb selection of interesting cocktails starting from $14, an excellent accompaniment to their menu choices🍸
Conveniently located on Holt Street in Surry Hills, Brooklyn Depot is a great place to get your American fix. My only advice, come hungry!

There are times when you just want to forget about calories and cut loose with a mountain of comfort food in front of you. If today is one of those days then Brooklyn Depot in the restaurant hub of Surry Hills is the place to be. Brooklyn Depot was founded on the Gold Coast in early 2015. The award winning American burger and bar concept was inspired by New York’s old Brooklyn and quickly won a string of awards including ‘best hamburgers’. It wasn’t just the burgers that were a hit with locals and tourists, but their clever hot dawgs, Brooklynised skinny fries, BBQ pork ribs, cocktails and thick hand spun milkshakes.Due to the success of the Gold Coast venue, Brooklyn Depot also opened locations in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Originally tried out Brooklyn Depot in Surfers Paradise, and that is where my love affair began! From their mac and cheese balls, to their 3 cheese mac and cheese, to their harlem chicken tenders and twice cooked onion rings... you cannot go wrong! Such a massive menu with so much variety! It will surely please EVERYONE. I also had the DEPOT BURGER (two grass fed beef pattiesm double American cheese, hickory smoked bacon [mmmmmm bacon], grilled pineapple, oak leaf lettuce, tomato and depot special sauce)
and it was SOOOOOOO good! Would go out of my way to come back here again. From the fast and attentive service, to the atmosphere and the great food, I would safely say this is a MUST try!
I rarely allow my husand to choose our next food trips spots but, I conceded because he choose an American themed restaurant. What attracted us to come here was the burgers so we had to try them out. The restaurant was a bit difficult to find even though we were using Google maps but, we eventually got there. I was surprised by the range of food that they were serving because I just miss good American food. I love their interiors, modern, spacious, plenty of seats to choose from and there's a tv flashing pictures and videos of NYC. Staff are friendly and were quick to serve. I highly recommend ordering their shakes. You can even have add on alcohol if desired.
During my lunch break, I decided to grab a bite here. I ordered the FUN GUY, the only vegetarian burger on this menu. I waited for 10 minutes and they had already served me then Burger, I took a take away and I was happy with the packaging and service. I loved the ambience and would love to come back to try more dishes out here.

In the name of bringing you a balanced review, I’ve actually visited Brooklyn Depot three times; and on each visit, I’ve smashed a different burger. Best I can come up with is that I have a love-hate relationship with the burgers here…This chain, which emerged in Queensland, is loosely based upon the New York City borough of Brooklyn. Brooklyn is connected to Manhattan by the Brooklyn Bridge - an iconic cable-stayed suspension bridge that has appeared in Spider Man and Gozilla. From the Brooklyn Bridge you can see the Statue of Liberty; explaining the street art style mural in the front doorway. You’ll also see a nod in it to Brooklyn’s pigeon kings - the residents who raise homing pigeons on rooftops. The colourful art and bright lights give this place an energetic vibe. Having their front service area operating as a high volume takeout adds to this, with delivery company arrivals making it seem a bit like eating in a drive-thru - well except here you can...
Follow @2Foodiefrogs on Instagram for more: For now, enjoy this review: In the heart of Surry Hills you will find the Brooklyn Depot, a bar with a great American vibe with good music and good old fashioned great American service. This place is definitely not for the healthy or faint hearted, the meals here are the real deal. Be prepared for loads of cheese, bacon and sauce with your burgers or chips or salads or pretty much anything haha.
We each grabbed our own burger
but instead of the traditional burger we got Mac 'n Cheese Buns, very messy! The first three four bites were delicious however after some time it did become quite heavy so if it’s something your not normally into we definitely recommend you stick with something more familiar.
Grab a few beers or shots and enjoy a great meal with friends with good music. This bar is very trendy and if you're not up for a night out, well then they do take away or delivery as well. With decent prices and the food tasting great, its a good little spot to try out.
Fugazy- best burger ive ever had. Made with sweet potatoes and chichpea patty, and with onion rings in the burger. Amazing taste always. Pricing is decent and service quick.
Came here with a few friends a few days ago and we were satisfied with this place. The place was fairly large, with tables at the front and some booths and taller tables at the back. It was a bit dim though, would've liked more light.
We ordered a Proud Mary burger, Chicky Babe burger, a Outta Towner burger, a Coney Island hot dog and a Philly Dog. We also shared some Garbage fries and the food was all delicious. They do better hot dogs than burgers in my opinion, but for big eaters one hot dog might be a bit light.
I still prefer the Gold Coast restaurant better because their burgers were larger, but the hot dogs were equally good. Decent price for the dogs, a tad expensive since the burgers are on the small side, but a good place to chill and have a good meal!
Been here twice now and both times have been fun and tasty! You may want to try a cocktail to begin! How about the Charlie Sheen Breakfast Margarita or the Rhubarbra Streisand! Plenty to choose from in the way of craft beers and spirits too. If milkshakes are more your thing the "My Man" which is Hershey's chocolate sauce, ice cream, crushed Oreos with Mozart black liqueur would certainly do the trick! Had a Brooklyn Classic burger which was simply delicious. "Flip the Bird" a BBQ chicken burger with guacamole and hickory smoked bacon is also a great choice. If you are super hungry the 3 B's - Brooklyn BBQ Board is like a meat tray with the lot (chicken wings, pork ribs, pork belly, beef short ribs, slaw etc). Really enjoyed the interiors of this depot with artwork from the Brooklyn area. If only for a while, relax, enjoy and imagine you are 15,000kms away!
This place is quite new. The atmosphere is good I think.
Except one thing: When we got there, I think all girls in white shirts are floor staff. So they seated us and didn't really show up around the table and the bar staff had to come and took the order.
Burgers are ok, love their shake!
Frickles (fried pickles) on the loaded fries was lovely (well I'm a fan of fermented food).
We ordered food from here through the uberEATS app but nonetheless the quality and care Brooklyn Depot put into our package and food was so clear! Each item was carefully packaged into cardboard boxes, all requests were followed and we were given a generous amount of napkins, utensils and wet wipes. Our sides of charred corn and sweet potato fries were so delicious, the sweet potato fries being the best I've ever had! My friend ordered the Chicky Babe burger with extra crumbed field mushroom and avocado and it was the bomb. I ordered the Reuben Hot Dawg and although a little on the drier side, it was still so good. Everything was freshly prepared and full of great flavours. Really loved and recommend this feast!
Very spacious restaurant and the ambience of the restaurant is very good. For starters we ordered sweet potato chips and onion rings, both were very good. Burgers were decent. Oreo shake was very nice and filling.
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our burgers here! The mushroom burger was a particular highlight for me. Sweet potato fries were yum too.
Tried here on Friday night - wasn't as busy as I expected but the classic burger I ordered was pretty delicious :) the staff were great and super helpful/attentive too - I'd certainly go back!
Great service and decent food for a reasonable price, definitely recommend the beef chilli fries. Also their burger patty tasted quite similar to Mcdonald's Big Mac beef patty
Had the depot burger ($16) - 2xbeef patties, bacon, 2x american cheese, grilled pineapple, tomato and lettuce with their "depot sauce". Added on a buttermilk fried chicken to try what their chicken was like and a side of skinny fries. Was a burger worthy of those with a big appetite. Probably my fault for stacking on the extra chicken so it became a bit more difficult to eat without dislocating my jaw. That said the beef was grilled well on the outside however cooked quite well through so ended up a bit dry. Depended on the cheese and sauce to really add moisture to the burger. That said the cheese was well melted over the patties so props there. The bacon was crispy and not too stringy. I'd have to say the chicken was the most let down. Looked like itd be tasty and crunchy but looks can be deceiving. While it did have some crunch i was expecting more, the flavouring was pretty average and not as juicy on the inside as i hoped. Probably spoiled by fried chicken from other dedicated joints like chicken and sons, Mary's.
Friend had the outtatowner which is essentially their take on the philly cheese steak - provolone cheese with thinly sliced "philly steak", beef patty and caramalised onions and green peppers. Got to try some as well. Not bad. A bit messy to eat but the melted cheese did its job well. The peppers also gave it a nice kick. Same issue i felt with the patties as mentioned before.
The chips themselves were exactly like your maccas fries. No complaints there if you like that type of thing (which i do).
Biggest let down for me was the service. They seemed to keep pushing us to leave, would come by to see if we'd finished and pack up our dishes straight away. Once we said we didnt want drinks or dessert rushed us the bill. It was lunch hour but there was still plenty of room so why the rush. The service was otherwise friendly and helpful.
Yet another Sydney hipster burger enclave. Decent burger and milkshake. Loved the garbage fries. The caramel pecan chocolate brownie was a real tooth-eroding sugary treat. Business should do well judging by the number of patrons in there on a Monday night.
Perfect Friday lunch fare, and office delivery via Foodora is spot on. I was on to a winner with the Chicky Babe - crispy fried buttermilk chicken with slaw in a delicious bun. No greasy post-burger food coma, just good vibes all round.
Umm wow. When stores open new locations and the quality doesn't drop one iota! 👏 two Burgers, garbage fries, a hot dog and brownie. All worth it. Zero regrets lol. Cant wait to try the ribs next time
So good!!! The chicken wings, onion rings and burgers are amazing! Totally recommend this place. The milkshakes are awesome as well! Will be back for sure!
When I heard the news that a new burger joint had joined the burger ranks of Sydney, it had my full attention and my burger cravings were on a high. Forget about that average burger you ate the other day, if you’re looking for a menu consisting of an extensive range of succulent, American-style burgers – let me introduce you to Brooklyn Depot Burgers & Brew.
Enjoyed a cheeky little hot dawg from Brooklyn Depot. Actually it wasn't that little. The soft, melt in your mouth bun was heaped with toppings. If you're after a naughty little snack, then this is the place for you!
Surfers Paradise based Brooklyn Depot have landed on our shores. "Burgers and Brews" apparently.. but so much more than that. Hot dogs, chicken wings, mac n cheese, and killer desserts. They even have a little something for the salad eaters out there 🙂. Located on the outskirts of Surry Hills (a mere 5 minute walk from Central Station), Brooklyn Depot have a convenient takeaway window for those on the go, bar tables and stools, large group tables and cosy booths. And even seating at the bar for the ideal #tableforone.
Hot on the heels of Ze Pickle is another burger joint from the Gold Coast called Brooklyn Depot. Also very much similar to them, they do beers except this place is way more Americana since they offer Blue Moon, PBR, Budweiser, Coors Light, and Sam Adams. They just opened up last week so there are several teething issues with service, (seriously, several) but if the food is good then it should sort itself out over time right? I went with a Double Brooklyn Classic, and just note that if you get an extra patty you should get extra cheese as well.
Double grass fed beef, double American cheese, oak leaf lettuce, tomato, Depot special sauce
Well this place is a pleasant surprise. I expected it to be mediocre due to the service and previous experience with Ze Pickle but I'm happy to say this is one of the better burgers in Surry Hills. You can taste the quality of the grass fed beef though it's done medium, but it has really good flavour even though it's leaner than my preference. They have their own milk buns here which is a plus. It holds it all well and adds a subtle flavour with my only complaint being it's a little too bready making the bun slightly distracting if that makes sense. The minimal toppings are pretty tasty, the Depot special sauce is smoky cheesy sauce which kind of reminds me of Velveeta.
Great option for burgers and brews in Surry Hills once service gets figured out.
