Xihuahua đ¶ was doing her Saturday like a headless fly. We needed to grab super quick lunch and their buffet looked good. So we got 4 choices with rice.
The bamboo shoot with mince and fish are very nice. Fish is fried then stewed with a sweet savory sauce. The spicy mince is tasty but the chili was too much for me. Chicken was average. The chicken has a soup that looks like a strong yellow dye and I cannot taste any flavors. Texture is too elastic. Overall I like their takeaway albeit the price is a bit high.
Amazing restaurant! Great and tasty food! Feels very Thai there because of the food and environment over there. Great and friendly staffs. If you are spice and Thai food lover then is a must visit place! Keep up the good job guys!
One of the best Thai food, and I feel like transformed back to land of smile.
Look at the broth colour, it just so strong, and full on spices and spiciness.
I did order seafood Tom yum... this Tom yum is slightly different from usual Tom yum that I try.
Generous amount of prawns and calamari, itâs all worth the price you are paying for.
Thai milk tea serve in long slim tall glass, I feel like it just less liquid compare to different restaurant.
Anyway, good food!
I have been returning back here many times. Real Thai tastes, so many kinds of meals. Feeling like I was in Thailand. Lots of Thai customers. Recommend.
Authentic spicy Thai food. I sweated my way through a delicious lemongrass chicken dish take away. Flavours were comparable to some of the better dishes i had in Thailand. I admire somewhere brave enough to make Thai food that isn't watered down with coconut milk.
Great Thai/Lao food, where the menu has a hardcore section like the larb (which is raw pork). The deep fried corn was delicious and reminded me Indonesian perkedel jagung. The BBQ fish with glass noodles was great too.
Great authentic north-eastern Thai/Laos food - the REAL taste of Thailand!!!!! Not Thai-Aussie versions, but the real thing. The larb is delicious and the service is great.
We went to Nua Lao Thai quite randomly one day. The first dish was quite a random-looking mushroom soup with quite âchallengingâ taste. However, the rest of the dishes were pretty good. The most important dish of the night was the Durian Sticky Rice â it was awesome!!
Nice food. Great authentic thai/laotian food coupled with efficient service. We used a scoopon voucher which they honoured. A bit loud though with the music.

+4.5
Nua Lao Thai on George Street serves headbangin' funky Lao and Thai soups, salads and street food dishes, as well as a bain-marie-of-love chock full of mysterious wonder. They also do standard  easy-listening Thai so you can drag along your less adventurous pals.
Delicious satisfying meal. Use to frequent this place when it was crocodile thai. Not quite sure about the new interior, with takeaway serving area, balloons and too many photos of laos, but its got a kind of friendly tacky but likable feel still. Old one with the dimmer lights and live music had a more warming and serene feel.
Anyway on to the food. Tried one of my favourite thai dishes. Khao mok gai which is saffron rice & crispy chicken with soup on the side. Probably one of the best in Sydney. Great serving size, the chicken was very crispy skinned while still being moist. Served with a sweet chilli sauce, i like to add dry chilli to it as welll. Also served with a tangy green chilli sauce which adds a sweet tang to the chicken. The rice was well flavoured and had that nice yellow colour, although it was a touch too wet. Better moist than dry though! Served with a simple chicken garlic soup, tastes great in between eating the meal and complements the flavour.
The lady was friendly, attentive and helpful. She always had a smile on her and wasnt hating life which is great!
Highly recommended for quick, tasty decent meal in the cbd. Will come back to try more of the lao menu!
Nice. I didn't have the courage to try their hard core (their description) Lao, not out of fear of trying something raw or fermented, but out of not knowing how to combine it into an ensemble meal. So instead I went with a stick of bbq octopus (not to my taste as it was lightly seared and quite raw, but in a nicely incendiary sauce), a stick of bbq pork, nice but not great, and then a serve of green curry (medium) with a serve of rice. The curry was huge, its heat was more of a medium+ but not as spicy as others I've had, and the rice was large as well. I spent $22 for the lot, and with a companion it would be easy to get out at cheap eats levels. The more elaborate dishes I saw going to other tables (vast majority Asian eaters) were even more enormous. The flavors were spot on and the food was faultless. The interior was a bit basic but with a sincere attempt to decorate with imagination.
Yumm & Great Service. Wow sooo authentic. Massive menu and nice staff. (This Is a new place) Much better than what was there before.
Great for a relaxing beer with truly traditional Thai & Laotian food like you possibly have never experienced before unless you have lived in those countries.
So Many different dishes to try cant wait to come back and enjoy my favourite Leo Thai Beer with another awesome meal.
We love Nua Lao. We very much enjoyed our dinner at Nua Lao. Everything was very tasty and service is charming and attentive. Loved the grilled octopus and the curry puffs entrees, the red curry and the stir-fried prawns in chili sauce. The restaurant was full to capacity (on a Tuesday evening) and had a good vibe of happy customers having a good time. We will definitely return. Thanks, Groupon, for introducing us to this gem!
Here is our favourite go to Thai restaurant.
The atmosphere reminds us of being back in Thailand.
Panang curry is awesome all the time.
We have never gotten disappointed whenever we come.
Efficient and friendly service. Had the lunch special $12.90 for chicken Pad Thai. Good portions with decent amount of meat and beansprouts. Would be great if they didn't have a surcharge for using card. I paid with cash. There is a good range of lunch options so would be back to try others. It was fairly popular with office workers. Definitely felt authentic and it's an institution here.
best Thai food ever specially papaya salad so spicy đ€€. It is really good for spicy lover.
Very tasty and good portions. Will be back
One of the very few Lao/Thai restaurants that still remain authentic withount bending over too much to the mainstream taste. My favourites are fried quails and fermented pork. If you order larb, be prepared for the hotness
