Whats for dinner you ask besides inhaling the exotic “white choc passionfruit martini” (downed in naut-point-9-seconds)??
Number 1 Stand out recommendation:
- The Wagyu Truffle Tacos: these glorious palm-sized delights cascaded an element of authentic Japanese flavour and crunchy Mexican texture, i should have ordered more but i promised my mum i would try not to eat with my eyeballs to avoid the Arab Proverb “don’t waste it could go to the poor kids in Africa” at the back of my subconscious.
- Spiced Apple and Pork Pizza:
Like i’m going to be honest, i don’t how adventurous i was feeling with anything else on the pizza menu, i mean come on us Aussies have a hard enough time trying to explain to others pineapple on a Hawaiian pizza. Honestly pork and apples are made for each other such a perfect contrast of savoury sweet.
- Matcha Donuts :
I solemnly swear if you don’t just go “Ooommmmggg” (like your brain neurotransmitters just received a message of holy f*** take another bite RN) then i will personally pay and eat the rest of these deep fried balls of heaven YUMMM!
Others to mention that are definitely worth ingesting, the soft shell “Crab Medusa” sushi, and Kingfish Sashimi (good quality, for the price).

I was beyond excited when I saw the sneak peeks on Concrete Playground and the teaser Instagram for SASH coming to Sydney and boy was I not disappointed. Expectations were met! My sister and I went during the first week of their grand opening and shared a couple dishes together.
The Japanese inspired menu has a large range of dishes which would have something to accomodate most people especially with a lot of vegetarian options.
The decor/art/furniture fittings gives the space a very cool ‘Surry Hills’ vibe which makes this place the perfect spot for date night or a birthday outing.
Everything we ordered was perfect and tasted amazing, which left us wanting to order more. The sake buttermilk nuggets with maple syrup.. GENIUS. I will be coming back just to order that again.
Mmmm did someone say Japanese fusion? The food here was super delicious and service was impeccable. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming and super informative about the menu. I really enjoyed the sushi rolls and sashimi dishes that were brought out. Really good balance of flavours and their take on Japanese food was unique. Their blue cheese pizza was also pretty interesting and yummy. Overall, a really good experience. Food is on the pricier side but well worth the experience.
Innovative Japanese food, taking inspirations from other cuisines like Mexican, Italian and French. The tacos were amazing (sorry forgot to take photo) although the pizza was not as impressive as we thought. Service was a bit of hit and miss, most likely coz it’s newly opened.
Great vibes, awesome food. I had been to The Melbourne one which was great but this new one in Sydney really has upped its level when it comes to service
The industrial décor dimly lit by purple neon lights sets the mood for a night to expect the unexpected. Even seasoned diners like ourselves are immediately swept off our feet by the funky vibe. Few cocktails we have sipped on has the same jaw dropping effect as Kyoto Black Lychee Martini ($20) owing its colour to activated charcoal.

Amazing food. Extensive menu. Love the tacos and the dogs. Really nice fusion food. Love their cocktails too. Try the white choc! Will be back to try more on the menu.
The food here is great. Really impressed by their first expansion store to really nail the dishes. The cocktails are some of the best in Sydney by a long shot and the fit out and ambiance is amazing, such a cool vibe!!
The food here is amazing, somehow they have done better than the original store. The fitout is really cool you can feel the New York inspo through out the shop.

The food was all beautiful presented and tasted delicious all except for the Lamb Ribs. The fat on the lamb ribs were not rendered and were still white and solid, making it very unpleasant to eat.
I took one bite and couldn’t finish the ribs.
Looking back, we should have sent the dish back to the kitchen.
I hope the owners of this establishment take note.
If we do return, it won’t be for the lamb ribs that’s for sure!!
The tacos, baos and buns were their specialty!
The menu is pretty interesting as it fuses multiple styles of cuisines. The tacos were absolutely insane, especially the lobster and beef. Portions were definitely on the smaller side while still being tasty. I didn't rate their pizza bases too highly and tbh the design of the place is not exactly my cup of tea....still it's pretty great and worth a look!

Love the food, each dish has their own merit in terms of flavour and uniqueness.
Must get the tacos, baos, fried chicken and the eggplant fries! Also their cocktails were really tasty and unique, you can see the bar tender is very passionate.
