Looking for Korean comfort food??? Then this is the place to go to!!! I got to love their black bean noodles! It was so saucy and delicious! And not to mention; their watermelon soju!!
Varied menu choices - black bean noodles is thick and filling, garlic and plain fried chicken is delicious. Stews are expected flavours.
Service is prompt and attentive on call with a button. Busy and bustling environment.
This was Mr Yu’s no. 1 favorite Korean restaurant. Everything was just perfect! We love the cheesy rice cakes, cheesy steam egg, and their signature pork hock. We also ordered the rice ball recommended by other reviews and it was unexpectedly amazing! Sesame oil and rice are perfect combo! We will try their black bean noodles next time!
Super recommend this place! The seafood pancake and Garlic Jok Bal are amazingly delicious with big portions. The side dishes are quite good as well.
Always my go to place in city for Korean food. Variety of foods to choose. Can be really busy at times. Waiting time is short. Reasonable priced. One dissatisfaction is toilet can be cleaner.
Popular Korean restaurant
My husband and I shared a bulgogi hotpot for dinner - it was delicious and full of great quality vegetables and meat. BYO for $10 per bottle a bit steep though!
Craving for Korean food.
went to one of friend recommendation, and turn to be good.
Don Don Korean located at George St, next to AnZ opposite the cinema level 1.
The place might look small with small lift, but it actually quite big inside.
The best dishes was the rice, where you have to mix it yourself and is yumm. Almost finished it by myself.
Noodle a bit too soggy and tasteless.
Lots variety of side dishes.
Korean Chicken was nice 👍
Should try when in the area.
The portion is very large. And the price is really fair (approx 25 aud per person). Everything is just so good and recommend the pork feet dish!
This place satisfies me with the Jok Bal (Pork Hock) and their cold noodle. It opens very late at night and service is fast even when the restaurant is full of customers. Bonus point is the diversity of Ban Chan (side dish) and lots of side veggies. Fried chicken is not excellent but acceptable.
However, the price is a bit higher than other Korean eatery. This place is also at a convenient location, short walk from Town Hall station, on the second (or third) floor of a small building
Don Don means that are Pork and Pork. Absolutely the steamed pork tastes are awesome. In my person this is two thumbs up. Side dish are Ok. Generally tastes are good.
This is the best korean place I tried so far in CBD. Their pork trotters were very tender and melted in your mouth. Yumm. Their seafood pancake was crispy outside and soft in the middle. Would come back here!
Went with a friend spontaneously as we were really hungry. I ordered the bibim naengmyeon. There is a lot of noodles so its worth the money but it was a struggle to finish it all haha. Also ordered the boo choo jeon and ended up having to takeaway it because we couldn't finish it all. The takeaway box costs 50c which was fine. Wasn't too many people when we went on a Saturday. Would come again if I was craving Korean food and in the area.
Large variety of korean dishes to choose from, I quite enjoyed everything we ordered (cheesy tteokbokki, garlic soy fried chicken, and seafood pancake) except for the pork katsu cheese fondue which was just ok. The cheese fondue was more of a creamy cabonara Styled sauce rather than the stretchy melted cheese I was expecting. Their Fried chicken isn’t the best I’ve had but not bad either.
I would definitely return to try some of their other dishes.
Can’t go wrong at Don Don! One of my favourite places for Korean in the city! The food is great and the side dishes are plentiful and delicious! Love the ambience!
I totally love this restaurant!! The budae-jjigae is so tastety and makes come again and again. One of their waitors can speak Chinese and offer us a free rice wine, which is delicous! I like their free refilled side dishes and to be honest, I think it is the best Korean restaurant in Sydney.
Fair price, great side dishes (free refill as well), awesome environment. The cheese chicken is great. Plum wine is cheaper than other Korean places.
Food is great. Can refill side dishes by ourselves. But there is no service. The waitress doesnt smile. Go in, get seated, scan qr code, order by phone, then they start serving.
No complaint on the food. Just feel weird with the service. Many notices around too, e.g. 2 hrs limit, no outside food/drink, etc. Nothing too wrong but dont feel very nice too. I believe eating at a restaurant is not just solely about the food.
They have strict no outside food or drink rule and they also offer cash discount. Personally Don Don is my top Korean restaurant in city in terms of flavour - its pork knuckle and Hot pot are extraordinarily delicious. For small group, I recommend the weekday lunch menu as you could spend 20 bucks for a set of 2-3 dishes, which is quite decent. For group more than 4, sharing plates will costs around 20-40 bucks for 3-4 dishes. They also offer a set of free small plates.
My new favourite Korean restaurant in the cbd. Quick and efficient self-serve ordering, friendly staff and a wide range of popular Korean cuisine. The price is reasonable and the quality good.
the chicken soy garlic so tasty, and big portion!!!!
seafood pancake also nice, they even give us side dish to refffffilll☺️
service so good, food coming so fast! good place for hangout with friends, or dating☺️
I’ve tried their restaurant in Strathfield and enjoyed it so this time I gave the city branch a try as well. I ordered half size kang poong gi (sweet sour korean fried chicken - kfc) and lunch combo special with dolsot bibimbap and soft tofu stew. The kfc was crispy and juicy while the bibimbap tastes delicious. The soft tofu stew was quite average though. Good selection of banchan too. However, portion sizes were huge which both of us couldn’t finish all the food. We got some korean fried chicken leftovers to take away as well. They have upgraded their banchan game to another level as they now have a self serve banchan bar for the customers. Also gave the donkatsu a try and omg yummy 🤤 and big portions as well.
This is korean restaurant specialised with chicken and pork. I'm fans of korean dishes. All tastes of the food I've ordered here are delicious. I recommend this Don Don restaurant rather than other competitors.
Kitchen staff are multicultural. But there is one waitstaff, korean girl with long black hair which is a bit unpleasant. I was asking for side dishes top-up then she just pointing. Next I was asking for a tap water, she ignored me. I initiative took it myself.
Arrived around 6:40pm Friday night, and wait for the seating for 20 mins or so. The place is very crowded. The table is a bit sticky but acceptable.
The soba noodles itself was very nice, but it's a bit too much spicy sauce when you have the noodle half way. Wouldn't recommend to ppl who not really into spicy food. I'm kind of getting tired of eating cold noodle in the midway.
The katsu was very crunchy and tasty. Not dry inside at all, feeled it taste better than the same dish in Danjangkun. But the plate was very large which made the pork visually smaller than it actually was. But the portion is absolutely enough.
I had the clam noodle the other time. Still my best dish in this restaurant so far. Strongly recommend that.
