Review Three Mangoes Thai Eatery - Sydney

Amazing food.. good service. Great prices. Slow service during typical service hours aka (6.30pm-7.30pm is very busy and may take 30+ mins to get your food) - but that's expected in Newtown Here we had satay veggies with rice and fresh spring rolls

Been here a few times and my last two experiences guide this review. The quality of the food is very poor for the price and highly variable. We returned a salt and pepper squid dry and overcooked; they still expected me to pay for it. Seems the front desk is more concerned with online orders than with the patrons in the restaurant. So many nice places in Enmore/Newtown that this is just not worth it.

Went there for dinner last night and both my partner and I agreed it was the worst meal we have had in a long time. The quality of the meat in the beef massaman was terrible and my salmon salad was well overcooked. The spices in the green curry fried rice had both of us up during the night with really bad acid and indigestion. The restaurant was not very clean either and very cold. Would not waste your money going there.

Service was appalling. Food was OK. Prawns looked like they had been dumped in donut batter, nobody ate them. Total rip-off. Charged us 'corkage' for 9 people when we had 4 adults & 5 kids. The place is not licensed so has to be BYO. WE even had to get our own beverages to from their fridge, please explain what corkage is for then??? Certainly not service. Charged us $22 for two bowls of steamed rice, seriously. Took almost 2 hours for meal & we were rushing for a show at the Enmore. We will never go back. There are too many great value Thai restaurants on Enmore Road to put up with this rubbish.

Went here on a Friday night with a group at around 7pm, it wasn't busy at all considering. A few of us ordered the whole deep fried snapper only to be told 5 minutes later that they were all out; poor organisation for a Friday night. Our food came out staggered, with a few guests having to wait upto 20 minutes greater some others at the table. To top it all off, despite the fact that they weren't busy and could easily have split the bill they told us that they wouldn't; so a bunch of us had to go across the road and get cash out. Ultimately very disappointed with the level of service. There are an abundance of better thai restaurants on the same road and nearby.

Been ordering here for a few years but the last couple times the food has been absolutely terrible! Thought I'd give it a second chance tonight because they might of just had a busy night previously however I was wrong. Pad Thai noodles were soggy and drenched with sauce and flavours were nothing like a pad thai should be. Fried rice was extremely bland, rice was mushy and prawns smelt off. Compelety unedible. Very dissapointed. Won't be ordering from here again!

I highly would not recommend. The service is slow and unfriendly; I had to ask for water 4 times before it came to the table and the food is slow. The food came 45 mins later and they told me at the 40 minute mark that the dish I ordered was sold out!! My friend ordered a chicken papaya salad but only the papaya salad came out with the chicken to follow later. No sign of the chicken! Would never ever come here again!

I discovered three mangoes long after I stopped living in Newtown which is a real shame. They have a fantastic selection of thai food with some very interesting chef specials. They do a cashew nut stir fry with noodles which is absolutely fantastic and I've never found at another store. The front eating area is intimate but if you go through to the back there is a much larger eating area which suits large crowds and couples alike.

TAKEAWAY W/ MENULOG: Portion size for price was good. Food very tasty and it didn’t come with too much fillers eg a lot of onion. Chicken and pork tasted good. Rice whilst large did taste gluggy but I was going to cover it in sauce anyways. Whilst my husband managed to finish his meal mine was good for leftover lunch as it was so large I couldn’t get through it. Great prices but minimum if $25. Only annoying thing was delivery takes 1hr minimum and I live up the road but I’d blame menulog for that more than anything. Didn’t visit place so don’t know about exterior but a good enough place for takeaway!

I highly would not recommend. Terrible service (slow and unfriendly - I had to ask for water 4 times before it came to the table) and food is slow (food came 45 mins later and they told me at the 40 minute mark that the dish I ordered was sold out). Would never ever come here again!

I tried this restaurance once and I would not come back for the following reasons:<br/><br/>Prices on the menu were misleading. They charged my group extra $1 dollar for each plate, because the prices the menu were for take away. Dine-in would be $1 extra.<br/><br/>The service was terrible.<br/><br/>Plates were full of dust. We requested for other plates, but it was all the same.<br/><br/>The food was average.<br/>

Average average average. The chicken satay skewers were small and the satay sauce was oily - I would have happily paid a little more for better quality. The barbeque chicken salad was insubstantial and contained quite a lot of fatty skin. Best dish of the evening was the chicken papaya salad, which was a generous serving and flavoursome. Ambiance was dull, bathroom was dirty (sticky floor....ew) and the whole experience was just so average and dated, compared with the energy and vibrance of say Doytao on King Street. Wouldn't bother going back.

Ordinary. Food was really ordinary, could not taste the lemongrass in the lemongrass stirfry. Everything was rather ordinary.

Very poor food. Ordered 4 dishes, takeaway. this evening ... poor quality food/cooking/presentation.'<br/> I am insulted. Ashamed allowing myself to be so ripped off.<br/>Thai Potong... Marrickville superior by one hundred miles

Never Again!. We have ordered from here for home delivery several times and the food has been ok, however tonight's experience was not, so much so I've taken to write this.<br/><br/>The spring rolls and soup were ok but the three main dishes we ordered were far from it.<br/><br/>The pumpkin basil stir fry was laced with garlic to the point I couldn't eat it. The menu didn't specify that the dish had garlic in it and of course I expect some garlic in Thai cooking, but there would have been at least 5 cloves in the single dish.<br/><br/>The stuff chicken wings were overlooked, dry and looked/tasted like they had been cooked hours ago. The chicken skewers looked great in the picture online, but the meat was really fatty and obviously a poor cut of meat.<br/><br/>We rang to ask if we could get our money back on the three dishes we couldn't eat, and they told me that I obviously hadn't had Thai before and they would re-do the order but deliver raw chicken if we didn't want cooked.<br/><br/>Totally spoilt the evening and my appetite.

Masaman lamb was ok. Basil.... Masaman lamb was ok. <br/>Basil pumpkin was poor effort. The pumpkin was too hard (uncooked) and we could not eat it. We let the staff know and they didn't offer a discount or a new dish. <br/>I won't be going back.

How long does it to steam a few veg and fry up some noodles? Seriously, there were only 4 other people in what is a cavernous restaurant yet we waited almost half an hour for our food to come out. Even then mine arrived 5 minutes before my friend's. My food was good, his extraordinarily salty. BEWARE - prices on the menu at the door are takeaway - meals are $2 per dish more expensive inside.

Dined here on Saturday night and the service was pretty poor. We each ordered an entree and main and the waitress asked if we'd like the entrees to come out first, to which we said yes. We had two entrees come out and then two mains... I was still waiting for my entree when they brought out my main. When I asked about my entree the waitress was quite disinterested and told me that it was still coming. It never came. The food was average for Thai and I don't think I'll be returning.

Extremely slow service. We were a party of 6, 3 of us got our meals first we then had to wait over 30 minutes for the other meals, 1 of which they got wrong. Definitely don't here if you have plans for later in the night.

Went here tonight. I was seated outback with water and the menu. We where left without service for 35 mins. Then a waitress came snatch the menu from the table and walked off. We then got up and walked out. Wasted 35 mins for nothing will never go back here..

Terrible. Worst service I have ever experienced. Only received half of our order, the staff could not have cared less if we got our food or not.

Not bad..... I think ive been here before but with a few thai places in Enmore and even more next door in Newtown its hard to say. The food was a little better than my expectations.the eggplant dish was great. Service wise the food did take a little time to come out,Ambience wise there isnt much its pretty plain and reminds me of a pubs back beer garden.

Not as good as it once was. A lovely enclosed courtyard makes for a unique dining ambience. Three Mangoes used to be one of the best thai restaurants in Enmore but it had gone downhill lately. Servings are small, and the flavours are nothing to rave about.

A pleasant ambience in the back courtyard, and reliably good food - we've eaten there several times and never been disappointed
