I am glad I found Izakaya Fujiyama, such a relaxing place to dine,.. been dying for a fine dinning Japanese meal with fresh sashimi and a great selection of vegatarian dishes for awhile.. the mushroom bun was to die for, also the eggplants.. great customer service too.. Highly recommended and will return.

We celebrated Valentine' Day ❤ last night at Fujiyama and we had such a wonderful time. Love the good food, excellent dry Sake & sweet Umeshu but most of all the friendly staff especially the lady Manager who remembered the brand of Sake we ordered last time and we are so impressed! Will be back again for sure with such good ambience, great food and exceptional customer service! 👍👍👍Thanks for looking after us! 🙏

Excellent food and the service was phenomenal! Food came out really quickly and so too did the drinks. The restaurant is in a nice little secluded place. Highly recommend 👍🏽

Don’t go past this warm, friendly Japanese bar and restaurant. Try the mouth watering nigiri sushi, I had the salmon belly and yellowfin tuna, with a good smack of wasabi. Absolutely biteable soft, delicious bites. Along with a miso soup and a salad of baby spinach with a yuzu dressing, this is a delight. Try it just before a concert or movies. Wander around to find izakaya and then be brave and try a luscious sake. It’s a quiet fresh, tasty treat.

Had the set menu 1 and miso eggplant salad to share, as recommended by the waitress. Service was really very attentive and every dish was well timed and flavourful. Fried chicken was so soft on the inside and crispy outside. Wagyu was also tender. The nanba style cauliflower wasn’t for everyone since it was a cold pickled dish. Eggplant salad was very interesting and we fully enjoyed it! The chocolate/caramel dessert was a bit too rich but I still recommend this place very highly.

Delicious good and good service. Eggplant was a bit on the sweet side for our taste though. On the pricey side for an Izakaya.

First time to this great little spot. It did not disappoint! The most amazing Japanese food we have ever had. My partner and I eat Japanese food regularly as it is a fav of ours so we’ve had our fair share of good and bad. The food at this venue is incredible! The staff were really friendly and helped us make some great sake choices. Do yourself a favour and eat here. Choose the set menu because the dishes and flavours are to die for. Will be back with all our friends!

Delicious food at Izakaya Fujiyama and great service. First Japanese meal since lockdown ended and can't wait to go back and eat more.

The only quick sushi fix I could find in 10mins from a place I was working that day.
It was a bit later in the afternoon around 2:30pm so it was not busy at all. I did have to wait at their counter for an uncomfortable few mins until being served even when they saw me.
I ordered a black Rice teriyaki chicken sushi roll. It satisfied my hunger cravings. Sushi was a little stickier than normal, perhaps they have a procedure to cook it with more water.
Flavour wise, was bursting with flavour, perhaps as the other reviewer stated, could have been additions of sugar.

Not bad but not a recommendation to go out of your way.

Better than average quick Japanese fix. In addition to the usual sushi, sashimi boxes, there's a small dining area for a sit down udon or donburi. Decent fast food at OK prices.

Grabbing a quick lunch box here now and although the deal sounded appetizing with 6 mini sushi rolls and a choice of main (teriyaki chicken) plus miso soup, all I can thin about right now is SUGAR! SOOOO SWEET!! Not just the teriyaki sauce but even the sushi rolls! Too much sweetness all over. I don't think I'll be back despite the friendly service.

Average japanese restaurant, I think the staff is korean so it may not be super authentic.

I have only gotten take away.

The food is generally OK, it has improved recently with a newer tempura batter that has some extra crunchy bits in it, quite nice.

The sushi is usually served a little lukewarm - I prefer it a little cooler but in general it is decently presented. combination boxes are probably best value - comes with some miso soup, rice, mains, some small sushi assorted, tempura prawns and veggies with a small salad.

Overall I would probably recommend the udon/rice dishes over pure sushi.

A little pricey for what you get.

We were aimlessly wondering through this area, searching for a place to have lunch. Unfortunately, it was past three o'clock and a majority of the cafes and restaurants had stopped serving lunch. We got lucky with this Japanese restaurant. They serve the usual suspects and their bento boxes are my favorite, minus the miso soup, something was not quite right with it.

With eat in or takeaway options I’d pay this place a visit if you’re after the standard Japanese lunch – think curry, udon soups and sushi. If you order a bento, you’ll receive complimentary miso soup, although I think miso soup is usually provided anyway when you’re eating in.Lunch bento $17

The Takayaki balls are very nice,it's just Crunchy enough that once you get into the centre,it almost melts in your mouth, yum!
The miso soup isn't watered down, the sushi in my bento was pretty good quality,so was everything else in my pork katsu bento.
Prices are decent, food came out at a decent rate, ambience wise it's small but cosy
Maybe it was because I was hungry and the meal was filling but I like this place!
Does My Bomb Look Big In This
Moving into the ghetto for the nine-to-five grind, I was quick to latch on to this small but efficient restaurant with a bustling take-out counter. Observing my almost religious devotion, my esteemed Chinese colleague decided to try it for himself. After one lunch, he summarily dismissed it, saying like half of Japanese restaurants south of the harbour, it's Korean run. Somewhat chastised, I asked him why he thought so, and he replied the rice mix isn't quite right (I agree) and the wasabi has no kick (sadly also true). However as we both agree the hot dishes are mostly on the money, from silky and flavoursome Age-Teriyaki Tofu ($5.50) to Yakitori Chicken ($5.50) to reasonably good Takoyaki Balls ($6) and 'Veggie' Gyoza ($6) , which appeared to contain pork on the day I dined. The non-traditional aspects of this business do however allow them a greater liberty toward more interesting combinations, like a Salmon Lovers Bento ($17.50) featuring teriyaki salmon, a raw salmon and avocado s

Sickeningly Sweet!!. Today is my first time ordering their beef teriyaki lunch box for $10. Guess what! The beef that came looked like leftover beef meats and they tasted overly sweet!! This must be the worst Beef Teriyaki I've ever had in Sydney for my whole life! I told the guy at the back sushi counter and he replied proudly " Aussies likes sweet, that's why we made it sweet, because our main customers are Aussies." I still told Him it was too sweet for me though. I didn't finish the beef. I will not return and my advice to you out there is : Do not even attempt to go here. Plenty other places do justice to your $10 for lunch. Mine just gone wasted Today and hopefully it's gone with my bad luck.
