Zambrero is a chain of Mexican food that aims to serve fresh delicious Mexican dishes. For every bowl or burrito sold, Zambrero is donating to a meal to someone in need to fight hunger. Their goal is to donate 1 billion meals by 2025. I came here for lunch one weekday, keen for quick and delicious casual feed.
I chose the spiced cauliflower filling and it was so delicious!! The bowl as a whole was really tasty and I would love to get it again, however the portions are painfully small. They could perhaps charge a little more for a bigger serving? Honestly, I would have needed two bowls to even be remotely satisfied. Definitely supporting a good cause here as they donate a plate of food for every burrito or bowl you purchase, and the food really does taste good.
Best tacos I've tried in Sydney. Excellent. Pricey but I'd rather pay $6 for a good taco than $3 for a poor one... I got delivery on deliveroo and the little boxes meant they arrived safe and sound. Burrito was good but not a fan of their chipotle sauce but I shld have chosen differently
One of the better Mexican chains in Sydney, I'd say, when pitted against Guzman or Mad Mex for example. Particularly intriguing is the the offer of black rice in your dish of choice, which for brown rice lovers like myself who enjoy the texture, is a must-try.
All in all, the food just tastes fresh and I've not had a better burrito at any other major chain. Pro-tip: ask for the crushed corn chips in your dish, it adds another level of texture and crunch and a great complement to the ingredients!
Discovered this little gem unintentionally and very glad I did. One of the few places I've been to that lets a gluten-free vegan eat more than just nachos (minus the dairy). Recommend the power burrito. Nachos are great too. I also like that they donate meals - more businesses should do this.
Just like chipotle. Mexican fast food. Liked the burrito bowl. Had black rice for the first time with chicken. The beef quessedia was good as well.
We came here really late. Helpful staff.
Nice place with good ambiance and plenty of seating! A good alternative to the biggies, Mad Mex and Guzman Y Gomez.
I ordered a Veggie Burrito bowl. The quantity was a bit on the lower side, and it's a tad expensive. It tasted pretty good, although this is certainly not 'authentic' Mexican food.
This place is decent enough when you need a change from the common Mexican chains, but it falls short in some aspects.
Food - 3.5/5
Service - 4/5
Ambiance - 4/5
Value for money - 3/5
Overall - 3.5/5
Fast, tasty and personal service. Really tasty food. Owner run. Clean, tidy and what you'd expect in a take away type setting. Priced well for the quality edge over other kebab type places.
Probably the best burrito I have eaten.
Friendly employer. I wou.... Friendly employer.
I wouldn't eat here for a regular meal again as it's not the best, but it'd be my favourite drunk eating spot.
We're fans!. My partner and I stop in here occasionally for a quick bite to eat. Being vegetarian we are thrilled with the vegie friendly options, and love the fresh lime squeezed across our burrito. Yum! Fresh, fairly light, and healthy! And lots of cute options. An easy, quick bite.
I took my intoxicated friends here for a quick meal, we ended up staying for almost 40 minutes due to the good vibes and excellent customer service. The workers were all very accommodating of our every request (from an extra tortilla to giving us a paper tray to draw on) and extremely friendly. My friends felt a true connection to the workers, ✨Glambrero ✨ is the place to be at 11pm on a Thursday night. Every single employee deserves a pay rise, not only were they awesome at customer service but they were incredible at doing every part of their jobs from making our food to cleaning the store. Seriously, give these guys a raise they deserve it.
Zambrero is a healthy Mexican version of subway sandwiches. The meat melts in your mouth because it's been slow cooked. The pork is a bit spicier than the other meats so I stick with chicken or beef.
If you're vegetarian they have plenty of other filling options as well. They also have black rice wraps if you are allergic to wheat or gluten.
It's also nice that they donate food to those in need with every meal purchased!
I ordered pulled pork nachos with garlic sauce and extra cheese and it was the BEST Zambies I’ve ever had. Hot, piled with ingredients and it was certainly extra cheesy. I’ve ordered this exact meal at other Zambies and this Darlinghurst shop doesn’t beat it. Sad I don’t live in Sydney.
Our bowls contained a good selection of rice, beans, cheese and sauces so they had quite a lot of flavour. The upgraded bowl which included black rice was far superior to the bowl with white rice, so I would recommend the upgrade. My wife tried the limited time only Z'mores dessert quesadilla and says it was quite tasty despite looking completely squashed.
The food is great!
I love the advocacy of the business i.e. beating world hunger.
Will continue to support!
All the best. ☺️😉
