This restaurant is a great place to come to if you love good fried chicken. I love their garlic soy and spicy boneless chicken which is juicy and filled with flavour. Their corn cheese is also delicious.
For our light snack we started with some of their Korean fried chicken or course and it was delicious. We had the tenders but you can their Korean fried chicken many different ways. Original or flavoured whole chicken or a boneless chicken where you get a bunch of breast and thigh fillets. Also in soups, salads, and on burgers, every which way it seems.
We ordered the fried chicken, as recommended, where you get to choose two flavours. Correctly, I chose the original, because then you really get to appreciate the crispy coating. And they served it with a nice dipping sauce of some sort. And then we opted for the spicy one, rather than garlic, because why not? And while it was really tasty and good, it was so spicy, I was crying. But I don’t mind a good cry.
Reasonable pricing and decent comfort food. The chicken wasn’t coated in oil, which is a plus for people who are health-conscious. The dipping sauces were nice, especially soy garlic and honey mustard. Salad was ok, nothing too special. Recommended for a quick, casual meal.
Experience Korean fried chicken like never before!
I have to say, I was sceptical about the fried chicken and even more so about vegan fried chicken. Gami delivers a range of crispy goods to-die for!
With original, soy garlic, spicy and more flavours, albeit this is the best fried chicken restaurant in the city. To top it off they have thirst crunching soju cocktails and beer!
If you’re after a impressively good casual dining experience with fried chicken and drinks, I would have to say, this is it!
I would recommend the fried rice cake and the G-father every time as they’re the best to begin the night! There’s also vegan fried chicken for your vegetarian friends.
Enjoy!
This place was really good fried chicken. My friend and I really enjoyed it and it was tasty, good flavour and nice crunch. Tasted very fresh.
I absolutely love fried chicken! And this place had really nice chicken. The original chicken with Honey mustard was a very good combination. But I think the Garlic soy fried chicken was tastier. My absolute favourite thing I ate here was the cheesy corn. Something so simple and yet I never thought of before!
Been to this chic place twice and absolutely loved everything here.
Boneless chicken is for lazy people like us who never like to get our hands dirty while sinking our teeth into some succulent meat. Half original to go with the honey mustard and half soy garlic, this is the definition of guilty pleasure. Have to comment on their honey mustard sauce, although not strong, it goes so well with the chicken. Being megapotatoes we also ordered the Potato Haven (capitalised. Love their naming sense). It's a divine blend of cheese, sweet chilli, sour cream, mash and wedges - as potato as one could get. One little tip: dip your chicken into the mash/cheese mixture.
Absolutely love the ambience and the asethetic appeal of the restaurant. The dish with cheese and potato is to die for😍😍. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
best Korean fried chicken I have had in Sydney. Period. Way much better than the one popular here. Tried Soy garlic and sweet chili wing box. Soooo juicy and tender with the kale slaw & pickled radish strongly recommend 😋😋😋
Spot on Chicken without the beer. Just ordered the Honey garlic and the sweet chilli and it was pretty mouth watering, seeing others ordering it too. I reckon they should include like some rather what beyond spicy flavour into the menu as it would actually attract people to come and eat.
Can’t really go wrong with Korean fried chicken! Love their other dishes which really compliments their star favourite. However, I wish they left the jug of water on the tables rather than having their customers to ask the waiters to refill the water up every time.
Chicken was super nice! Not a big fan of the dipping sauce but I love the crumbs on the chicken. It’s very flight and fluffy, and the chicken is very juicy. Not very oily at all. I would come back again because the chicken is great!
First heard about them in Melbourne! They opened up a store in Chippendale and we decided to try it out. The corn cheese is definitely a must! You really can’t stuff up a corn cheese. Only issue that it came out too soon! And by the time our chicken came out, the cheese had begun to solidify itself. We opted for the garlic soy and sweet chilli as recommended by the waiter. Garlic soy was ok, pretty basic. The sweet chilli didn’t taste like sweet chilli, but it was still marinated. They were quite generous with the portion sizes. It comes with free coleslaw, which we declined.
They have heaps of indoor and outdoor seating. Prices are very affordable. The also have a decent variety of side dishes. Overall, the chicken was ok. Not sure if we’ll come back, but it was a good experience.
I tried Gami chicken few times when I was in Melbourne. It was as good as the one in Sydney. I love the corn cheese sooooo much. The chicken was also very nice. We had 3 people and we ordered corn cheese, rice cake and a whole chicken with sweet chilli and soy garlic flavor. The corn cheese is super cheesy and delicious. The rice cake is fine (a bit like normal rice cake dip in the tomato sauce but it’s still alright to me). My sister absolutely loved the rice cake. The chicken is crispy with excellent flavor. The area is very beautiful for anyone who like to take photos. The price is too suitable. Each of us costed only a bit more than $20 but we feel full for a whole day. Love this place and I will definitely go back again. Highly recommended for any people like Korean food.
Lovely decór, good tasty chicken. We tried the Boneless Sweet Chilli Chicken and Spicy Flavoured Whole Chicken amazing quantity : 750gm each to be precise.
And Good Friendly staff too :)
Gami Chicken and Beer (Castle Hill).
Hits the spot if you’re feeling a bit of Korean food. Korean Fried Chicken is always the highlight at Gami. The service is fantastic here, the staff were very friendly and even guided you through the menu.
Gami Chicken and Beer has recently opened up at Central Park mall. The restaurant had a refreshing blue themed shipping container inspired interior. It’s located on the lower level of the mall where Doughnut Time used to be and it’s quite spacious in there. I love Korean fried chicken or any fried chicken in general!
Loved the restaurant brewed beer. Quick service and warm atmosphere. The food tops off a great night! This is such a great place to hang with friends. The fried chicken is what to have here and they offer a few different flavours. The best part is that the spicy flavour is actually spicy. And the chicken actually tastes like fresh chicken! Didn't disappoint!
This is the latest restaurant to have opened at Central Park. The chicken is really good because it’s crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I tried the chilli one which was actually fairly spicy and the soy garlic which could do with more sauce. My highlight though was the corn cheese which you should eat while it’s hot and the cheese is still stretchy.

A Melbourne fav is now in Sydney, the one thing they do well is the chicken and beer! Chicken is crunchy and super moist inside, sauces are perfect combination and some fresh sides to cut the fat. Worth dropping in if you have chicken craving! 4 Star.
Amazing chicken and beer! Get a 4L oak keg of beer, such value at $59! After having chicken and beer in South Korea, Gami chicken & beer takes me back to this experience of being in Hongdae. Highly recommend for chicken & beer. Menu is extensive with all the favorites, only wished they had flavored sojus! Will be coming back again in the future.
This place ambience and food is excellent!! I ordered he boneless chicken with spicy dipping sauce and it was spotted on with my palate. I also ordered spicy chicken which is so savoury and perfect in my mouth. I’ll definitely come back to Gami chicken for more!!

Break out the soju. Korean fried chicken has landed at Central Park. Gami, the famed Korean fried chicken king of Melbourne with 13 outlets across the city, has finally spread its wings to Sydney. They've taken over the site that was once Doughnut Time (and before that, Autolyse), and already drawing a crowd.
Okay, when I heard that Gami was opening a store here in Sydney, I was literally on the verge of tears because it was the best restaurants that I tried in Melbourne.
I found the service amazing, and the interior design absolutely modern with a touch of nature.
The food was so good! Potato Heaven and the Corn& Cheese was exactly the same as the one in Melbourne. I do have to agree though that the chicken was slightly dry, but it was still really good, finger licking chicken!
I would totally come here again!
Nice place for Korean fried chicken and would come back to try other things on the menu.
Good Korean fried chicken. We got the whole boneless chicken with dipping sauces, the chicken was tender and the batter was nice and crunchy (but not super crunchy and a bit more on the floury side). The spicy sauce was great, had the right amount of tang, sweetness and heat to give it a kick. The chips were fantastic - chunky, crispy on the outside and fluffy in the inside. They had a decent selection of beer, including their own lager on tap that was light and paired well with the chicken.
The space itself is open, bright, clean, airy and medium sized with a casual clean and contemporary industrial aesthetic (shipping containers, wood, metal). The staff were great, friendly and attentive.
If you are craving for seafood pancake and KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) then this place is the place for you.
Good quantity and quality for the price you pay. You have an option to have the flavoured chicken sauce mixed or served seperately (which was interesting). I would personally recommend the sauce mixed in for richer flavour.
I loveeeee the seafood pancake here, one of the best one I've ever tasted!
