Everything is perfect for me. Samgyupsal is the best. A lot of choices and it's fresh.staff though is not attentive. Just do your own lol.
Lunch buffet is very worth it
The dinner buffet is oceans above the lunch offer, thought in saying that they both offer great value. The Wagyu buffet is a smorgasboard of pork belly, striploin, angus, lamb, wagyu, chicken. While waiting for your mates to cook up the meat, enjoy the hot buffet of ready made soups, beef bulgogi, braised chicken, fried chicken, pork char siu, salads, and steamed vegetables! It will be the best 90 minutes of your life.
Honestly, this was the first kbbq I went to and I still come back. Compared to other kbbq, shinara’s meat isn’t that great in terms of quality but for the price, it’s worth it, it’s especially a great place for big groups if you’re not looking for anything fancy. I personally love this place for group dinners!
My go to place whenever i need a quick korean food run. Usually go for the taste of kimchi soup, tteokbokki and fried chicken. I got at lunch time coz its cheap. Used to be $13 but now priced increased to $16. Still cheap though compared to others. If there are at least 2 people you can use the stove for soup. 😉
i went to the buffet section & the food is alright alright, i thought it would b a bit better but it’s worth going to :) i’ve been there four times!!
Pretty good for big groups. The meat selection is great, along with sides and sauces. All the meat has a high turnover and is properly chilled so it stays quite fresh and is decent quality, not amazing. Drinks aren't that expensive either. Would recommend.
At an amazing $16pp lunch buffet, Shinara provides the best value for the quality of food of any buffet in Sydney. Whilst not outstanding food, for the price you get an amazing range of meats and carbs as well as ice cream for dessert. Unlike many other places which understandably don't put much effort into their lunch buffets, the food here is surprisingly good quality and constantly being refreshed so you never deal with the food no longer being hot. There are more than a few $16 buffets in Sydney, but Shinara is hands down the best of them all! (for its price range)
Shinara has great food offered for their Korean BBQ experience at $32.90pp during dinner time. This is a wonderful value for an all you can eat buffet-style barbecue. There are lots of meats to choose such as chicken, seafood, pork and beef. There are a lot of sides as well and including unlimited soft serve! Second time here and definitely did not disappoint.
For $35 all you can eat kbbq buffet is pretty good. They have quite a bit of selections, from marinated meat to soups and usual side dishes. They taste pretty good for the price and I have been here for couple times already. I'm happy with the service. The first time I visited was when the soft serve machine was giving us very watery soft serve but was pleasantly surprised the next time we visited that we got nice, creamy soft serve. I like coming here to catch up with friends while eating. It's a nice vibe and I would recommend it.
The best place to go to for lunchtime binge eating. We always bring friends, relatives or visitors here. Been here for so many many times in so many years we've been living here. Awesome. Thank you.
I tried both lunch and dinner buffet here and to be honest, it was really worth trying! *I forgot to take photos of my lunch last time so below are only from the BBQ dinner*
The location is very easy to find (on Pitt St). The staff are quick and friendly. Food is above average. I love the ambience of the restaurant too! It made me enjoy my meal especially on a cold winter day.
I especially love the side dishes and teokbokki here. Teokbokki is so chewy and the sauce coming along is so goooddd!!
About the BBQ, I love LA beef ribs (really soft and great flavour) and spicy pork necks.
I'll definitely come back when I'm in the mood for some Korean BBQ 😊😊😊
We went to the korean buffet. At first it confusing because if you are new to the restaurant you will not know where to go but the waiters down stairs are accommodating and gave instruction where the buffet is.
When we start the buffet, its a very typical buffet where you get everything in the buffet area. The staff are very friendly and helpful with the need.
The food itself is good but not super amazing. We love going to korean bbq and this one is standard. Some of their food doesn't taste good but over all we had a good experience.
A lot of people seem to be talking about this place from a dinner experience so I'll do it from a LUNCH experience
I LOVE THIS PLACE
Even though there are only limited choices, from those few choices you will still be able to taste true Korean cuisine. It's very cheap too being $13 for lunch on a weekday
I'm an avid Korean food lover and I can say from experience that this place is actually really good for it's price. You can go out to eat at a Korean restaurant and taste something a tiny bit better for the same price but only be able to eat one dish.
I also read some reviews where people said the staff weren't showing good hospitality, but from my experiences here at shinara, the staff were actually very nice, and even though their English wasn't exactly great i personally still found communication to be easy.
It makes sense for the staff to be slightly not as nice during dinner time because they're so busy and, just imagine customers endlessly coming up to you and requesting to do something which the signs say they clearly do not do,being rushed to serve everyone in their restaurant and more of the stresses they go through? Sure it's part of their job to be nice to every customer but the customers have to play their part too
But yeah great food
Shinara is such a vibrant place to visit and have an eating get together with friends with its all you can eat buffet style, which features BBQ meat ranges as well. Usually I can never eat to my content because of the price at restaurants, but this place I could do justice to my appetite. The atmosphere inside is great, however this place needs better ventilation as it leaves with the worst KBBQ stench on practically everything - clothes, hair. That's just the negative, but food wise this place is great. Oh, also don't forget to try their ice cream for dessert which is hidden in a corner close to the pay desk. The ice cream is so addictive.
First time dining at Shinara and I loved it! The lunch buffet is really cheap at $15pp and if you dine with two+ people you get to choose between chicken and spicy seafood noodle hot pot as well!
Loved the variety of dishes on offer from Gimbap, Bulgogi, Pancakes and fried chicken.
Great value for money, delicious and will come again 👍🏼
Located on Pitt St, Shinara offers buffet (including BBQ) for only $30pp which is incredibly cheap because along with the marinated meats, they have a substantial range of precooked korean dishes (see my photos). Always crowded so book in advance. Great idea for a hungry group outing place.
Korean BBQ Buffet. Need I say more? Combining two of my favourite things in the world, finding this place was honestly a dream come true. Plus, dinner is only $30 pp, while lunch is $15. Incredible.
The food was not bad. Not the best KBBQ I have had but definitely not the worst. The buffet had an interesting assortment of dishes, I particularly enjoyed the stir fry rice cakes and the japchae, as well as the bulgogi beef. Absolutely gorgeous, I went back for seconds of these. The kimchi here was a little bitter for my liking, not as good as other kimchis I've had.
All in all, great value for money. Generally not too crowded and conveniently located in the CBD. I would like to come back again.
Quantity not quality. If you've an average appetite you'll get nicer Korean elsewhere for less than $29 but of course that's not the point. Know what you're getting & Shinara hits the spot - for best value, come with teenage boys.
Of the BBQ, I liked teryaki & chilli chicken, they're like what you get elsewhere. Put your meat on as soon as you get there, since pork belly & beef are sliced really thick & there's a 2-hour table limit.
There was a huge & slightly unusual choice of other dishes - soups, salads, snacks, mains, desserts (incl English bread & butter pudding) - ranging in quality from bad to nice, so you'll find something. My faves were slices of zucchini fried in egg, and a savory egg custard with veges.
I can't believe I never heard of this place until now, have been walking by for years and never realised that this restaurant was a great value Korean BBQ buffet! The meat are all fresh and marinated well. The other mains are all great in flavour and service is excellent.
Came here for dinner as the buffet was only $30 which seemed like a good price that we could not go past. They take no reservations here, so first come first served basis. We had to wait for at least a good half an hour. But all we worth in the end. I enjoyed the marinated beef and pork.
The service here was below average as we had constantly remind staff about what we needed.
Just $13, it's hard to find all you can eat place for $13 in sydney. I usually don't expect much from buffet but I like Shinara.
Good price, yummy food, make me satisfied:)
Love bulgogi! That's the best, I can eat rice with it forever.haha you can enjoy Korean food as much as you can, little by little.
Also you can eat fruit and icecream as dessert.
Love it! $29 All you can eat Korean BBQ is the best and at this restaurant they have heaps of extra sides and dishes with also a great selection of meats to BBQ. I highly recommend the BBQ ribs!
Decoration leading up to the buffet makes me feel uneasy. The time limit of 2hrs is understandable. They were very strict with the timing. Food tasted average. The cost per person was $29.90 which i believe is an acceptable price. It's not particularly expensive nor cheap. Nothing outstanding or below average.
Amazing Value for the lunch buffet which is 11am-5pm. Just $13. I assumed there was either a catch or it was a really bad buffet but was pleasantly surprised. It is mostly Korean food and sushi which is great for those adventurous with foods and love to try new things. The food was of good quality and a varied selection, also includes a soup at your table on the stove so its amazing value. We noticed straight away the unusual and humorous signs on the table regarding a fine if you leave any food. Obviously under Australian law there's no way they could enforce this but I admire their intentions as who likes to waste food! Also was unusual to see a threat that if the machine breaks you will be liable for repair costs. They know how to put on a great buffet but the signs lack some customer service thought as I thought it was funny but others probably would just get annoyed and walk out. Definitely worth the visit if you are unsure of what to have! Would highly recommend and hope to return! Just make sure you finish all your food ;)
One of the best places in Sydney for Korean BBQ! Not only are they extremely affordable, with the buffet BBQ only being $29 but since their renovations their quality has seemed also to have drastically increased! You won't have to worry about those pieces of pork belly that are 99% fat, but instead greeted by an endless supply of thick juicy pork belly and an assortment of other marinated meats as well as hot foods! Mmm fried chicken....
The best choice if you really hungry and need buffet. This korean buffet serve so many foods. I really like their sweet and sour pork, friend chicken, tuna kimbap, bulgogi! It's really cheap on lunch, $13/person. $29 for dinner because they serve korean bbq for dinner.
Meat lovers. Not the best quality, but good value. A decent selection of meats and kim chi. I ate a lot of meat.
The cooked hot food in the bain marie in the corner was not very hot, bain marie may have been turned off by the time we arrived, or on a low heat.
The sweet sugar glazed sweet potatoes were delivious but were not replenished, we only got to try 1 (cut) piece.
The grapes were ok, but the watermelon not very good.
They also have a self dispensing soft serve ice cream machine which was nice.
It was such a disappointment when Shinara closed about 6 months ago. They were the cheapest Korean BBQ around Sydney as far as I knew, many would say not the best quality, but probably the best 'bang for the buck' you could find. News came that they were actually closed for renovation (rejoice!) and I wait impatiently for them to reopen. Well guess what! About 3 weeks ago they finally opened up again, and Korean BBQ fans everywhere prepares to visit their new restaurant. If you haven't done so already, it's worth it I tell ya. Price Board The first thing you notice is probably the price change. It has increased from $21 to $29 for dinner. And a previous $10 to $12 for lunch now. Let me explain later, but this price increase has been worth every dollar. The old Shinara didn't have the best ratings or reputation. It was dim, it was smokey, and the staff never seems to be around or didn't understand what you wanted. The meat section was under creepy red lights and all clumped together in dark sauce. I can see why people were hesitant about it. After renovation though, the first thing that happens when you go up the steps, you are greeted by the manager/owner (?) who is friendly and speaks fluent english. The place is brighter, cleaner, the chairs and tables match, and no longer has the choking-on-smoke atmosphere. About to begin! Beef Entree (Included) They start you off with a Beef entree, and while that's cooking, you can jump out to grab the hot foods and raw meat. There is a self-serve ice-cream machine for your after-meal dessert :) So much cleaner! Raw meat bar- a lot brighter and cleaner The feast begins - they will swap the metal pan for you halfway if it gets too gluggy and dirty Hot foods - chicken wings, dumplings, kimchi, potato noodles, rice cakes, fried chicken Self-serce water machine outside I had forgotten to take a photo of the ice-cream, but it's basically a vanilla soft-serve. The hot foods menu didn't change much from before to be honest, with
A while back, the healthy trio of Pat, Patty and myself, ventured to Shinara Grill & Lounge (Shop 1, 338 Pitt Street, Sydney) for some all you can eat Korean BBQ (our fave). We headed over from uni, via some well deserved drinks at the roundhouse and entered the restaurant's peculiar foyer area all buzzing and raring to go. Happy Hour is the way to go Foyer Area Winners We were seated and given three sets of cutlery (including 5 plates) with additional plates costing $2 each (I'm pretty sure it's to avoid grabbing a tonne of food all at once which can lead to wastage, but please ... as if lack of plates would stop me from eating more). Fortunately, Shinara Grill & Lounge doesn't hold a time limit policy for the buffet but nevertheless we only ended up staying for around one and a half hours. The not so authentic portable gas stove & grill top We'll begin with some photos of the buffet selection. It's probably worth mentioning that the dinner buffet is a measly $21 a head but t
This place has standed the test of time. This is the first time since I revisited Shinara, from memory you used to be able to order everything off a certain menu and you can eat as much as you want. It is now a buffet. The bbq meats was nicely marinated (has the option of beef, pork & chicken which was either left plain or marinated). The side meals was good from what I tasted (I didn't try alot as we were focusing on mainly the bbq meats) although some things would've been good to be replenished (although it was nearing towards the end of the night anyways). It is $29 for the dinner buffet. I have been to plenty of buffets/all you can eat korean restaurants in the past and this has been the only one to still be in operation. The staff were attentive and pleasant and when it came to paying we were given the option to either pay as a whole table or split bills but we could only pay either cash or card for all people who wanted to pay (which I thought was odd). The lady at the counter seemed fine as well, we weren't yelled at or recieved rude service but maybe that was because we didn't complain. I would go here again if I felt like eating kbbq to your hearts content.
How much can you handle. Been here several times for the dinner buffet ($21 per person). It's actually quite good value since it's an all your can eat, and there's a big variety of meat and korean side-dishes to choose from.
Negatives: Tables and cutlery and environment is very unhygienic in general. The quality of the food is poor, most of it is at cold/room temperature. Staff is unfriendly and unhelpful, borderline rude.
My friend and I love the $10 lunch buffet. A variety of food from salad and fruit bar to hot food to cold food and soup. Definitely will get more than what you had paid for. The only thing I would say is that most food is greasy and salty. Healthier than deep fried food which they also have but diet wise, I would say stay away. Apart from that, it feels like a Korean drama in there
Had hotpot buffet here for dinner. The soup was sweet and my fave from the buffet was thin sliced beef, fish, fish balls, mussels (not very fresh). Not a huge selection of fresh meat. Quite loved the typical side dishes like kim chi, potato noodles which i thought was pretty authentic. Its 20 a head for all you can eat so would be better for those with big appetites and bigger stomachs.
Lunch buffet. I was not convinced when I heard about the $10 lunch buffet upstairs, but I have to say this place was not too bad. The decor was interesting, the place was clean, and you get korean buffet lunch. Lots of fried food, bibimbap, some cold food like sushi rolls but my favourite was the chili pork.

Yup. Very nice Korean BBQ place with good service but a bit pricy. Worth it to give this place a try...
Awesome "All you can eat" restaurants. Meat more than just perfect. Beef, pork, lamb, plain or marinated. Seafood, vegetables, mushrooms. If don't want to cook you can choose from "Ready to eat". Price is fixed for a person. Very friendly staff. If you are not sure always can ask about dishes. Highly recommended. Not recommended for kids (hot frying pan in the middle of a table, not safe).
Found This place by accident.
Went on a friday night with 6 adults, walked straight in, no booking, maybe we were early.
$39 all u can eat, large variety of food. Will definitely come back when in Sydney next time. They kept on re-topping the buffet and u got to see that the meat was freshly cut and how the food was made with a open style kitchen.
Definitely go if u have a chance.
Always have many choices, the pickled beef taste perfect. And what I like the most is the kimchi soup, it's so nice and I drink a lot of soup everytime. By the way, the price now is $40 per people.
It was a good feed! Friendly staff, variety of meat to choose and the wagyu beef is amazing. The whole family enjoyed their meal.
Second time dining at this restaurant and it’s honestly great for the price. $30-$40 per head depending on the day and a wide range of meats and pre cooked meals to choose from. I love Korean BBQ but find it’s getting more and more expensive and finding a buffet style is a little difficult too. This place offers everything I could ask for in regards to Korean BBQ. Service is also great ! Forgot my hair tie and the waitress was kind enough to help me find something to put my hair up with. Sometimes it’s the little things that raise up the experience. Definitely will be back and highly recommend.
Shinara is the finest Korean buffet restaurant in Sydney. They have a wide range of Korean food and the most impressive part is that they taste very good. For a buffet restaurant, they make a good quality Korean food. Highly recommend the chili pork ribs & sweet potato chips. They also let you create your own soup by offering the best Korean soup ingredients. You can also have Korean BBQ (dinner only) if you’re a big eater. For these reasons I give this place the 4 bears
Note: The lunch menu is better
It is a great buffet place where you can eat as much as you want.😊😊
