Located on Sydney University Campus, Taste Baguette is a fantastic cafe to visit between classes.
The atmosphere is stunning, plenty of natural light and seating inside and outside. Takeaways are located at a window outside the cafe so the atmosphere isn’t disruptive to the diners indoors. Popular pastries from Black Star, fresh AF burgers and wood fired pizzas, perfect brain food before exams!
Definitely go for the seafood pizza, thin crust and flavoursome, or grab a takeaway coffee and cake and enjoy the beautiful sunshine on campus.
Campos coffee. Tastes good and consistent across many of their vendors. Their baguette is popular among students and staff but over the years they grew too expensive. I don’t think they sell red wine fish pie anymore, it was tha bomb! Xihuahua 🐶 didn’t enjoy their service. Probably she was just having a moody day. 👦🏻
The combination is tried and true however, they cook it fresh and right in front of you which adds that little extra something special. You would be a fool to go anywhere else in the Metcentre if you’re looking for breakfast. Sure you’ll have to wait, but it’s well worth the anticipation of your first bite. At $5.50 you’re unlikely to find cheaper and definitely not the same quality.
...one thing i have discovered is taste baguette. the staff (hello kelly) are incredible, within two weeks the girls have been able to memorize my coffee and baguette order – it’s brilliant and wonderfully convenient.
Mostly great, with the odd exception. Sometimes the coffee here is out of this world. But sometimes its really not that great. Avoid lunch time (around 12pm) as the baristas will be literally handling 40+ coffee orders at the same time, and the quality of the milk is significantly reduced. However, the staff are quite wonderful and the coffee is very reasonably priced. Oh and the baguettes are a staple of my diet.
Superb pastry and best pie!. My favourite pie ever is their beef and mushroom pie. Mushrooms are thick and juicy, and the pie pastry is so good! But almost every time I've lined up to get one in the past several months, they haven't had any... I think they only have them on Wednesdays now or something. :s Other pastry and dessert is also good, like croissants, creme brulee tart and lemon meringue cake. Good mochas (taste like hot chocolate actually). Baguettes are really popular but I'm not a fan of the hard crisp bread, and serving size is just a bit too small for my lunch needs.. but the Portugese chicken one is quite nice. Some ppl like the pork belly one, but the pork belly was really hard and crisp when I got it.
