Visiting Sydney overnight for work and couldn’t face heading out on foot to find dinner.. cue Deliveroo! I found Saigon Bay, and it was the Vietnamese salad pictures that got me, but hunger worms won! I enjoyed a serve each of steam & deepfry Ha Cao dumplings with a prawn fried rice. Nommy!!! Sorry no pics! Om nom nom!

I was afraid we’d be delivered a soggy pancake but the crispiness was as if it had just been made seconds ago. I loved the genuineness of it all, the mung beans in the batter, the large lettuce leaves to wrap the pancake pieces. Felt like we were back in Vietnam!
Enjoyable meal. We went here on a Groupon voucher. Didn't have much experience with Vietnamese food so we were looking forward to this. It was a great meal. The fried pancake thing (don't know what it was called!) was really good, haven't had anything like it before, The lemongrass chicken main had a welcome chilli kick to it. Service was also very good. Would be happy to give this another crack.
Good service. This was my second time here and the pleasant hostess made all the difference. The food is good although it seems more Chinese than Viet. The duck crepe/pancakes are good.
Awesome Vietnamese. First time I had been but the food was great. The staff were friendly. I highly recommend it.
I love this place. Great food, great vegetarian selection. Service is always fantastic. Good spot. Can't fault it!
I went here on a Spreets voucher and wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. We started with the spring rolls which were fresh and definitely made on the premises. We then order the campfire which was my favourite dish. It came out in a pot and a flame was lit on the table where the food continued to cook. You then wrapped the ingredients in rice paper. The food was tasty and the flaming pot a bit of a novelty. The final dish was chilli lamb and lemongrass plus we ordered garlic rice, all I can say is yum. I don't know if we were just lucky with what we ordered but I enjoyed every dish.
Spring rolls just so so fresh, done with mint, carrot and lettuce! Garlic rice also to die for!
On the whole... good.. Went here on a voucher so was well worth the $45 we spent all up.
Rice paper roll entree was good, although the steamed dim sum was very stodgy and more like pork meatballs. I guess that was the lesson for ordering a chinese dish at a vietnamese restaurant...
Really enjoyed the mains - Hanoi fish which was served over steamed bok choy and Stir fried chicken with chilli and lemongrass. The fish was topped in a delicious selection of spices.
It's BYO but the drinks are pretty cheap. $5.50 for a glass of wine.
Decor was a bit tired but least the seats were comfy!
One thing that bugged me was that the waiters would swoop on a dish as soon as you had finished it... even if you were still chewing your last bite or had a morsel of food in your chopsticks. I know it sounds pedantic but it does make you feel rushed!
Service was friendly enough.
Would venture there again although I think takeaway could be a better option.
Arrived for a very late lunch. Friendly service and the couple of dishes I ordered were very tasty. Vietnamese beer hit the spot too. Worthwhile. 3.79 out of 5.1
Fresh and tasty- a refreshing change to Thai. Good service and staff recommendation was spot on. Loved the banana flower salad.
The beef broth in the Pho Bo was flavorful and yet not overpowering or heavy. I would recommend the Caramelized Pork Brown Rice Bowl- the veggie portion was decent and I got 3-4 pieces of pork, along with something I've never had before- a kind of deep-fried soft-boiled egg. The flRemember to ask for extra chopped chillies! :)
This humble little shop doesn't seem like much from the outside. But if you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food at a great price then this is the place. The family owned business has quick and friendly service. I will go again and again.
Just purchased their Vegan Tofu and Mushroom with brown rice and quinoa and also some extra vegies.
The tofu and mushroom was amazing and everything was really fresh. They also promote not using MSG.
Don't let the basic decorations fool you. The food tastes top notch!
It's really not as bad as the rating would suggest. I usually just get the beef pho, walk in and order takeaway, so maybe other people's experiences are different. It's a tad pricey, but that's Paddington for you.
