It was a really chilly day and perfect to have a soup. This outlet is in Metcentre and there was already a massive queue for lunch. Everyone must’ve had the same thought as me!
They got through the queue very quickly and friendly service. I opted for the Roast Beef Soup (red wine, chunky beef & mixed veg). It tasted good but wish it had more meat and veg. I got some Brasserie Bread Country Sourdough for only $1 more. Good choice as it bulked up the meal. There are also some complimentary garnishes like croutons, chilli, and spring onions you can to your dish. Went with croutons to add texture to the soup.
I love this place ! It is about 10 minute walk from my office and I frequent this place for their sensational pea and ham soup. Highly recommend this place to everyone.
A pretty good place in a middle of the business district. Fast service and tasty soups. Good choice of breads. Free spicy sauces are great. Good value for money.
Great soups on offer here. They really pack a punch. Think I've tried them all except the clam chowder as I don't eat seafood. The soups are full of good ingredients and super hearty/healthy. I've had some of the rice dishes before. ..the chicken curry and "Mexican" chicken. Can't say I was impressed as it wasn't mexican in the slightest. It was just chicken in a tomato sauce. Yes. $1 for a slice of bread is pretty unnecessary but hey, such is life
Winter is upon us here in Sydney, which means that it is finally soup season! I love soup because it is the ultimate lazy person’s meal – there’s generally no need to chew, you still get to taste delicious flavours and end up with a full stomach. I recently heard about a place in the MetCentre at Wynyard that is solely dedicated to different kinds of soup – the appropriately named Croutons Soup Bar, tucked away next to the Jamison Street entrance. I’m a sucker for crunchy croutons with my soup so how could I resist? I trekked over during one lunchbreak with a friend and we spent around 5 minutes wandering the MetCentre food court looking for it before I realised it was actually on the ground floor of the centre and not inside the food court itself.
Fantastic Recovery with Beef Cheek :) From zero to hero!!!!!!!. I ordered the braised beef cheek. There was no sauce or jus/juice so it was dry and tasteless and hard to get down. I was so unsatisfied that I wrote a message through their facebook and got a reply from Kelvin you was shocked to hear the feedback but took it all onboard and offered me a free beef cheek on the house to see that he had made changes. I did so apprehensively but WAS AMAZED at the recovery, it was like a totally different recipe. MELT IN YOUR MOUTH BEEF with a rich tomato based sauce so succulent and satisfying. I even told my work friends to go there and try it. GOOD WORK Croutons, great to see people really care about QUALITY and CUSTOMER SERVICE - will be coming back again and again. I have since tried the beef soup which was also very tasty - but still rate the beef cheek!
Great range of soup and topping! Staff are efficient. Lots of seats in the food court but it does get busy around 12.30pm to 1.30pm so plan ahead. Price is very reasonable and they even give you samples. About 5 minutes walk from the train station inside MetCentre. Think it's only open weekdays.
Such a great soup place. Called the owner to check if the shop was still open and said that she closed down due to COVID-19. So sad to see a great little spot go
Love the hearty congee. A regular size cup for $6 with some braised chicken is sooo goooood
Its my goto comfort lunch for the winters
