Absolute value for money Taiwanese fare!!
I had the standard pork sauce rice, how else to judge the level of yummy-ness but to go for the stock standard Taiwanese dish. The kids have the noodle version to share while the missus had the braised beef noodle. We also had the snack pack to share: selected the deep fried chicken, squid rings & squid balls. Fried chicken was the best of the lot with the squid balls a close second. We didn’t care for the squid rings as felt rather chewy/rubbery, can’t fault the batter, just the insides. Everyone went home happy and satisfied!!
Been to their other establishments too and I def recommend the drinks as well.
Ordered the popular braised pork mince rice, and immediately regretted as it’s quite oily by it nature. The taste is decent, but not that it was as good as I expected, for all those appraisals I’d read. The fried chicken snack is great, 4 dollar for a 10 dollar like dish which is absolutely getting bang for your buck. Taro tea is good and looks pretty cute.
Tea Plus is one of my regularly frequented restaurants in Burwood. I enjoyed everything I’ve ordered there, especially love their braised beef noodle soup and they serve one of the best braised pork mince rice in Burwood.
+3 standard starting points for food
+1 great value
+1 great food
5: a staple
Absolute must try:
Pork Sauce on Rice
Beef Noodle Soup
Either one of these two dishes make up my staple order every time. It’s simple and hearty. For the pork sauce on rice I usually go for the small, as their serving size is pretty filling.
Noise level: loud music
Teaplus probably gets most of its hype from the plant milk tea which I’ve tried in the past and enjoyed - the froth at the top is a bit salty so defs recommend having the whole drink together which is a delicious combo. There’s a lot of different flavours to choose from as well! Decided to try the grapefruit yoghurt tea which is essentially grapefruit flavoured tea with calpis water and found it super refreshing (gr8 option for those lactose intolerant people out there or if you’re just after something more fruity 😂)
Menu are so adorable!I like it.But pork sauce on rice made me frustrating. Not good than I expected.Too sweet and not creamy enough. You can choose combo as it is worthwhile.Strongly recommend chicken basil.Bubble tea is also awful.
TEA PLUS
Tawainese food that is good value, tasty and well portioned.
Been here a couple of times and request the pork sauce with rice combo, It includes a side dish of choice (chose the small chicken bites) and a discounted drink as total cost is only $13. The beef brisket is very soft and tasty. The cream cheese mango drink is a must try drink there too.
Definately full and satisfied every time.
I had been there for many times, and ordered the same main two dishes which are curry pork chop on rice and curry beef. I espcially recommend these two yammy dishes with reasonable price. Perhaps I will add some TO EAT LIST for tea plus afterwards. Because there are lots of dishes I have not tried, but will try latter :)
I come here quite often, service is average, good portion size and price is good. Also food gets on the table quick which is good as I go here during work lunch break.
I enjoy their fried squid balls, mince on rice and black milk tea latte (names probably not accurate).
My favourite go to in Burwood - the prices are cheap, the food is good, service is fast and they also have free wifi. The chicken basil is an absolute favourite and the drinks are very filling (and cute!!)
As per my Taiwanese girlfriend, this Taiwan restaurant’s food quality is above average in Sydney.
As a Hongkee I found the braised beef (牛腩) is pretty Hong Kong style too.
The price is very cheap, a lunch of $29 for two person, that include two lunch set plus an entree. By the way, the Chicken & Mushroom Tamago is yummy.
The taro milk tea was interesting and quite big serve. The beef noodle was very oily to my liking. The original pancake has nice flavour, however a bit too dry. Overall was a good experience.
This is my go to for whenever i’m craving plant style milk tea with milk foam! Also when i’m craving taiwanese basil chicken. They do a really good curry chicken cutlet rice which is very filling. Portion sizes are amazing and prices are decent.
For a refreshing drink in Burwood, no other place comes to mind but TeaPlus! A Taiwanese dessert and drinks shop which (I am just finding out right now) is a franchise with a few other stores scattered around Sydney. TeaPlus is an exciting change, serving more traditional Taiwanese recipes with a cute twist (see the first item on the menu, their House Special Plant Milk Tea!). They also serve actual meals and snacks that you won't get at any other tea place!
My friend and I had the Super Passionfruit Green Tea and Super Lime Green Tea from their Specials menu. TeaPlus uses fresh ingredients, evident from the actual passionfruit pulp and chunk of lime! You can truly taste the difference. It was exorbitantly refreshing after a long walk; not too sweet and not too sour. It's quite a tall drink as well, probably the size of a Large in most other franchises.
Overall an excellent experience with TeaPlus, would party with them again!
The interior of teaplus is really cute, although it can be loud and the air-conditioning isn't strong enough. The food here is great value for money: large portions and authentically Taiwanese (very good for our student budgets). The plant tea was the size of a pint of beer 😂😂 I really recommend trying the tamagoyaki and pork sauce rice here.
The menu is printed on paper and we tick what we want, which is also very convenient for awkward people like me.
Been wanting to try their plant milk tea for ages and finally got the chance to recently and it didn't disappoint! So cute in presentation and the original tea was very flavoursome. Loved the oreo on top! Will come back to try the food :)
TeaPlus have managed to maintain their food and drinks consistency over the years, which is a difficult thing to achieve for a lot of restaurants which has been around for a long time. It's good to see that they've moved to a bigger location with more seats, it used to be a pain with the long wait. The pictures in the menu are cute, their Tamago (cheese omelette) are really hearty and tasty. Their most popular drink is their "pot-plant" milk tea, which is a little bit too sinful for my taste, but really gimmicky and insta-worthy. Overall the prices are really good. However, there have been quite a few times when I find their drinks a little too sweet despite explicitly requesting the lowest sugar level.
highly recommend three main dishes 'peppercorn sauce pork chop on rice' 'pork sauce on rice' and 'curry pork chop on rice' btw, the drinks is pretty good too
Very cheap meal. My favourite is the fried chicken with rice, love the mayonnaise sauce with it. However the corn can be improved with real corn. The chocolate soil drink is also quite too sweet, but is very tasty! Would come again!
.🍹House Special Plant Milk Tea🍹
This eye-catching milk tea has 3 layers; milk tea as the base followed by milk foam and then topped with crushed Oreo soil. The mug was huge, very hard for me to finish by myself. I would say the taste was about average but it's cute appearance is a bonus.

🍽️Pork Sauce on Noodle🍽️
I absolutely love traditional Taiwanese pork sauce, but it's very hard to find an authentic one here. This pork sauce on noodle however, exceeded my expectations. Great taste with just the right proportion of sauce.
Their service was not the friendliest but it was very quick. I opted for the mushroom and cheese pancake, basil chicken and their signature plant milk tea. The portion sizes are decent and the food was worth its price. I particularly enjoyed the chicken - it arrived hot, crunchy and had just the right amount of seasoning. If you're looking for a nice place to eat and study, teaplus is a great option (esp with their free wifi).
Beef noodle soup with tomato was great. Tender beef chunks with chewy noodles in a tangy broth - the ultimate comfort food. The fried chicken cutlet with rice was also a winner. It was seasoned to perfection, light and crisp, and didn't feel oily at all. Both were generous in serving size too. The only downside to the meal were the plant milk teas. I reckon they were a tad too rich and got sickening towards the end. However if I had the stomach for it, I would love it.
Pretty good tea place especially the plant tea
Hot Plant tea original flavour is amazing and really brings out the tea flavour
Side dishes are amazing and very cheap, love the deep fried buns with condense milk
Def recommend
The pork sauce noodle is really good and so is the original house special original plant milk tea :) it's my favourite milk tea bc of the Oreos. I also really like the matcha milk tea milk foam. The kumara wedges are nice but nothing very special. Overall quite nice food.
I enjoy snacking here and getting takeaway drinks as it's super creative and yum. Main reason why I'm always back is to try their entire menu xD
Great place to chill with friends and order light food and drinks ~ヾ(^∇^)
I love their green tea plant, the first with layer is made with Oreo so u can feel sweet n cookie flavour n the greentea taste also great.
I ordered pork sauce noodle as well.their pork sauce is good but I don't like noodle.
I made take away for crab meat egg role and prawn mayo on rice.both meals re great 👍🏻 recommend to eat.sorry i forget to take a photo for takeaway meal.
My favorite place in Burwood. Good service and affordable price. Always enjoy my food. Highly recommend their milk teas. Their staff are friendly and attentive.
We went during a weekday and it was surprisingly busy. We waited for about 10 mins so not too bad. We had the Original plant milk tea and the Jasmine foam tea. You also have the option of customising it in terms of sugar and hot/cold. We chose the option of half sugar for both and hot for both as well. Both tasted really smooth and nice. Will definitely come back again to try other flavours.
Food and drink was ok, service need to improved. Beef noodles was really good, outstanding broth and tender meat but the noodles was soggy and overcooked.
Pretty good Taiwanese street food with my favourite being the wasabi fishballs. The signature milk tea with oreo topping looked pretty cool and though the taste was pretty much what I expected.
Nice Taiwanese drinks, really like the flavour. Ordered their signature milk tea, taste lots of flavour in the drink. Nice work. Like the details in the shop.
A little place selling Taiwanese snacks. Aqua walls and white furniture - a super cute little set up. We ordered a pork floss tamago which is like an egg pancake. Never had one before but it was light and fluffy and very tasty. We also got the pork sauce noodle which was a bowl of noodles, corn, bok chou and pork mince - really nice flavours, a huge serving and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Then, the star of the meal was the House special plant milk tea. We got the taro flavour so it was purple, which a cookie flavoured dirt atop the milk tea! So cute!!
Love that they do some quirky items here. Ordered the plant milk tea and matcha red bean mille crepe cake (not a regular item).
The crepe cake was not too sweet. I'm glad the redbean is so mixed in with the cream that the layers are still quite distinct even though I couldn't taste the red bean all that much. It's actually quite filling / rich with all that cream in between the layers.
The drink was a lot bigger than I expected. The sea salt foam was distinctly salty but it actually worked really well with the cookie crumb.
No high chairs in sight or toilets for that matter. It's more of a quick lunch / snacks place. The snacks look quite good.
Really well maintained quality for the last two years. Been a regular since they were at the smaller store further up burwood Rd. Their menu recently included some new dishes, quite nice too. But love the beef brisket noodles and fried lotus chips and the basil chicken. Always eat these three without fail.
Very nice taiwanese restaurant. Food is beautiful, well present. Me and my friends are really like been here to have dinner. Milk tea is very cute and tasted
Food is good value for money - generous portions and delicious. Service is friendly and fast but communication can be difficult as a lot of staff speak mainly Chinese and limited English.
The beef noodle soup was my favourite of the night. The noodles were soft and chewy, broth very flavoursome and beef falling apart.
Their jasmine milk tea was also light and refreshing.
Food is decent but nothing special, small portion, food serves quick, lots of fry stuff, the pot drink is too sweet, went once and don't have the urge to go again.
Interesting little place! The food appears to be homely and quite well cooked. The place is quite small though so seating it a little on the squashy side. The signature plant teas are delicious and I particularly like the egg roll which was so soft.
As much as I wanted to try one of their signature plant milk teas (which seemed to grace every other table), I had to have the matcha. Very nice.
The snacks are also great value with a favourite being the deep fried chicken.
MILK. FOAM. Hands down, the best (non-alcoholic) drink I've ever had. Their plant milk tea is kinda rough on the throat, and confusing on the pallet.
Their rice meals is mediocre, something that can be easily made at home.
Service is meh however the food is great! $5.80 for the original plant milk tea and $6.50 for the egg + cheese + ham + corn and bonito flakes. The tea went well with the oreo bits and foam. The egg had cheese filling and it was a good amount, perfect as a snack. Absolutely come again!
What a fab little place! The food is simple but delicious, nicely presented and such a great price. The space is clean and modern, with some decent background music. The staff are friendly, and the menu has a large number of interesting tea based drinks (including milk, bubble & smoothie!) and a small range of Taiwanese snacks and meals.
For a main I had the curry chicken cutlet with rice. Typical Asian fair with deep fried chicken, a nice thick curry, a hefty portion of rice and a little cabbage and corn. The right size for a meal and all well cooked. I also had to try the seaweed and pork floss tamago, having never tried this Japanese style omelette before. The flavours were interesting with the cheese and corn wrapped inside, and pork floss, a few bits of seaweed (that I couldn't taste) & that mayo-type stuff (Kewpie?) you get on Asian food on top. Very yummy & its size made a good starter/side dish.
The best thing I had though were the crispy buns. Deep fried dough-like balls, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, served with condensed milk dip - they were divine! Just the right amount of sweet & perfectly complimented with the dip. I would definitely recommend going to T+ for one of their many drinks and a portion of these to catch up with a friend - much better than a boring coffee & cake!
Overall, really loved this place & it didn't break the bank :)
Tea being their specialty, you would expect the best from their tea. Not only was the tea fantastic, their beef noodle soup was really good too! Had to try the original plant milk tea as it was my first time there and it did not disappoint. Definitely should try it when you're there. The wintermelon milk foam was also really good. Their drinks are spot on. The noodles came in a huge huge bowl, enough for 2 people who did not want a full blown meal. It was oily, greasy, and fatty but so so satisfying. I've been meaning to go back to try another flavour of the plant milk tea but just haven't had the chance!
Classic Taiwanese restaurant. Before it was very small shop but now wow. very successful business. I love original milk tea with Oreo crush. Very nice. Thumb up!
Went here with friends for lunch, as well as to try their famous plant milk tea! It had a very Taiwanese feel to the place, which was nice for a change in atmosphere! Their menu was so cute as well! One of the main things I was iffy about was the hassle of ordering your food by ticking the boxes on this sheet of paper, where everything was in Chinese! you can also order at the counter, but we found out a bit too late. Overall, it was a nice experience - didn't love it, didn't hate it - and might revisit if I feel like it.
Their new location is definitely better than their old one! Comes with a better vibe and more space. Their drinks are really good here and the food is affordable and delicious with a quick service.
Having moved from their previous location to a bigger premise with a prime position, one can only assume business must be good (or getting better). For this I am glad, as I never could convince myself to stand in line for a dine-in meal when the wait was often in excess of 30 minutes.
Tentatively, I can only tell you about their signature 'plant' milk tea which I have successfully tried as a take-out option. The handmade menu, although crafty and neat, was not very user friendly as it was mostly in Chinese (of which I am fairly illiterate in), and to understand it was no short of a game of charades.
The choices of flavouring in asian drinks are endless and it does make it all the more difficult to decide. This is not your standard strawberry, vanilla and chocolate dilemma but a more adult version of taro, matcha or oolong (ooh-la-la). I chose the taro, for no other reason than because the colour matched my nail polish so it must have been a sign of true destiny.
The drink was adorably cute and made a great movember moustache - when you get greedy and try to get a mouthful of Oreo soil. Tea itself was quite strong, which kept me up most of the night - blasted caffeine sensitivity.
UPDATE:
So I finally managed to catch a break and dine in. Food is so cheap it is ludicrous! Fried chicken and basil is a Taiwanese snack staple and they're pretty darn good here, which is no surprise since crispy popcorn chicken pieces scattered with salt and pepper are totally irresistible.
Beef sauce rice was average, then again I was never a fan of this dish or begin with. Luckily I enjoyed my Taiwanese sausage rice which had loads of sliced sausages, corn kernels and Chinese cabbage. Taiwanese pancake was a bit of a letdown and reminded me of my mums makeshift roti with a layer of egg. Not one of her better inventions that's for sure.
TeaPlus is fast, cheap and easy but their main attractions are the varieties of creative drink options. Recently they've sourced a floss machine and are making teas with fairy floss - Aqua S style. They're not cheap at $5-$6.50 a piece, but definitely Instagram worthy and tastes great too.
This time I had the "brown sauce chicken" with rice which turned out to be just chicken stewed in soy sauce. It came with some corn and steamed wombok on the side. Serving was generous as usual but I probably wouldn't order this again as it was too simple and a bit boring to be honest.
--Previous visit--
Wanting a light lunch, we shared a couple of small dishes: basil chicken, scallop salad, seaweed salad and tea egg. Both salads aren't on the menu, only in the counter display. The "scallop" salad actually uses scallop offcuts/trim but at $4 a serve, is to be expected. Nevertheless, I liked the salad as the offcuts had a strong scallop flavor and the chewy texture was a good pairing with the garlic shoots. The seaweed salad on the other hand was a bit too salty and really needed some plain rice to go with it. We loved the freshly fried, crisp basil chicken. Like popcorn chicken but better. The tea egg was another tasty snack and would be great with rice as well.
--Previous visit--
The beef noodle soup is a steaming bowl of goodness - a mountain of thick noodles topped with tender chunks of fatty brisket and tangy preserved vegetables in a fragrant, spiced broth. TeaPlus doesn't have mind-blowing food but it doesn't need to. I'm perfectly happy that it serves homely comfort food that hits the spot. Will be returning to try the rest of the menu like the three cups chicken with rice and the pork mince rice.
Cute cafe in the quieter side of Burwood. Their pot plant teas are large and filling. Tried matcha and taro: the milk tea flavours are subtle but work well with milk foam and crushed oreo soil. They serve some noodles and other nibbles. The food is ok, nothing really stand out.
Definitely one of my fave Taiwanese street food restaurants the food is so good and there's no where else you can find like this in Sydney. Only downside is that the menu is all in Chinese so if you can't read it you may really struggle (as I did). We ended up ordering the wrong drink and having to order the write one so we drank 3 drinks between 2 people. Nevertheless the food was good and so were the drinks. Would recommend!
Love this little tawainese cafe, their milk tea are great i like the matcha tea pot and taro milk with sea salt foam. Their wasabi fish balls are extremely intense .... the wasabi will give you a kick in the nose! The other snacks are "Ok" but i dont recommend it, i advise that it should be a Pre dinner or Post dinner for maximum enjoyment! Until next time .... keep eating!!!
Second time coming here. The food is pretty mediocre. Sweet potato wedges were soft and not crunchy as I hoped it to be. The best out of all the snacks we ordered was the crispy chicken strips. The takoyaki was okay but nothing amazing while the roe omelette was...meh. Stand out were the drinks and always has been. I ordered the taro foam drink. The foam was nice and salty while the drink beneath was sweet. Mixed together was absolutely on point.
Love it and have come back many times. The service is very standard but that's all that's required for this tiny place. The taiwanese style chicken is amazing standalone or in a dish with rice. Beef noodle soup very average. Lots of drinks to choose from with the plant drink being signature. For those keen first topping in your drink is free. Great place for a quick meal or a local catch up with friends.
Taro milk tea, whipped cream and Oreo crumbs as 'soil' to top it all off - What is this heavenly looking goodness? It's called the plant milk tea and is the signature drink at Tea Plus in Burwood and is pretty much a drink that is born for Instagram! The drink is simply adorable looking and I love that you are able to see the three distinct layers through the large beer mug too. The texture of the Oreo crumbs combined with the salty milk foam and tea was pleasantly delicious! Taro milk tea was my favourite flavour of the two that I tried (the other being the 'original' flavour). Overall, a thoroughly refreshing and tasty drink and wouldn't hesitate to visit again!
The Quality of the food is really good! It's always freshly made and they have a very different selection of food. They have mainly small dishes, kind of like a Taiwanese version of Tapas. AND the food is always consistent! They're very creative and the atmosphere of the place just gives you warm fuzzes. The walls are tinted baby blue and they also have really good natural lighting which gives a high school puppy love feeling. The Service is preeeeeetty good. The owners don't speak much english but they're very friendly and they try to assist their customers as m
The plant milk tea is the signature drink of Tea+. It was simply delicious. Tommy H loved the flavour of the matcha because he does not like drinks which are too sweet. It had a lovely balance of matcha and foam and flake..
The Hungry FoodTech [shirley.gondo]
+4.5
Their snack and mains are pretty cheap and the drinks look very tempting, most of them! I really can't wait to try out their foods even though I was quite full that time, So as recommended, I got the Plant Milk Tea , got the Taro one cause I loveeeeee Taro maybe more than Green tea now :) It came in a big jar but unfortunately it was too sweet for me that I can't finished the whole jar. The taro flavour was just right and the "soil" on top does enhance he drinkoing sensation :)
The milk foam is salty (i saw them making the milk foam!) so it's definitely freshly made!
In all seriousness, it’s a pot plant drink! As if you needed any other reason to go :)
