This is an authentic korean place - all the waiters and waitresses are Koreans. The dishes are authentic and comes with a lot of complimentary side dishes which are refillable. The price is reasonable and there is parking available just behind the restaurant. It is conveniently located opposite top Ryde shopping Centre. Will certainly go back again.
I didn’t have the photos anymore but I also tried the korean bbq but would prefer to order dishes rather than bbq as I don’t really like their marinade.
The food and service here is very good. I've been to this korean restaurants in Top Ryde many times but I haven't left any reviews until now as I am just new to Zomato.
It's our first time here at Maroo. Very authentic Korean food though service was only average. Reasonable price so will definitely go there again.
The food is very nice. The place is very clean. Staff are attentive but average. Would highly recommend the rice paper roll buffet, very fresh.
I have been to many Korean restaurants and they all seem to have similar menu & taste. However, it was a delight to find Maroo, it is bright & clean and the menu is extensive.
To try different type of Korean food, we ordered pig hooves & buckwheat noodles, pork & vegetables wrap (no 58), baby octopus & noodles, ginsang chicken, bulgogi (of course) & pan fried fish.
The first 3 dishes are not what I would usually order but it was great to try new Korean dishes (especially dishes I see on Korean dramas! Lol). They were delicious & very different.
In for mood for Korean food, definitely give Maroo a go. You can also order bbq meat as they have bbqs in the table.
My family and I love this place! The food's great! We love their marinated pork BBQ, marinated chicken, steamed dumplings, kimchi soup, and side dishes! We love the food and the service so much that we never fail to dine here monthly (or every fortnight!). The hyungs & unnis are friendly and efficient. They seem to have a lot of patience for little ones, too.
Aside from the ones already mentioned, you should try their mushroom & potato noodles, marinated wagyu, and their steamed fish.
The prices are quite reasonable, too. For a family of 4, we usually spend $50-70 (depending on how much food we order). There's usually a lot of leftover food so, you can just pack them away for the next day (lunch food at work). Nothing goes to waste here.
A while back when I first encountered Maroo, I fell in love. They gave complimentary pumpkin soup as entrée and a traditional Korean rice drink with red bean buns as dessert (which later changed to just fruit)! I couldn’t believe it. The food was good AND they knew how to treat their customers with little yummy surprises. Needless to say I went back multiple times.
After quite a long hiatus I went back again recently. After we had ordered I waited for the pumpkin soup which had always been served immediately. It didn’t come. Curious as to whether they had stopped doing this altogether or had just forgotten, I asked one of the waiters about it. They said ok and went to go get some for us. Didn’t seem like they had forgotten… but quite strange that I had to now ask for it? Either way it came out and it was delicious as always so I was pretty content.
The food came out and while the ginseng chicken was warming and hearty (sort of expected though at $25!), the spicy pork was too sweet. The food is hardly ever a let down, and despite having some inconsistencies here and there, for the most part you’ll have a satisfying meal here.
After you’re done with the food, they usually bring out the dessert but again this didn’t look like it was going to happen unless I mentioned it, so we just asked for the bill instead (it was getting late and kinda close to closing time anyway). Not sure if it really was the time we went that was the issue, but if you come here and don’t receive the dessert either guess it won’t hurt to just ask!
A lot of people usually come here for the wollamsam which is pretty much a Korean version of the Vietnamese rice paper roll. I looooove wollamsam, it’s actually in my top 3 favourite things to eat, but just can’t bring myself to eat it anywhere else other than home (feel a little ripped off). Having said that, I’ve heard good things about Maroo’s version with the ingredients being really fresh and whatnot, so this could be an option also if you dine here!
Maroo is one of the few gems that popped up in Top Ryde a while ago before the new build of Top Ryde Shopping Centre. The location is great - outside of the Shopping Centre with easy street parking and the venue is spacious and comfortable.
In my personal books, it was a welcomed move for Maroo moving from Eastwood to Top Ryde and the quality of food and service is premium, albeit the price is also on par of being premium.
A great place for a date, but a lot better in a larger group of friends.

Lots of Korean food in our area and walked pass this place for few years now.
Finally got a chance to try this on the weekend and I can say its another gem.
Very good service as we found some bug in our rice, the wait staff immediately apologise and give us free soft drinks as good will gesture. Not many restaurants does this anymore.
Decent variety of side dishes too that makes things even better!
Ample parking in the backlane which is another plus compared to other Korean bbq place in Eastwood.
Omg best walnam ssum (rice paper rolls) usually this is a vietnamese dish , but this korean restaurant changed all the traditional ingredients in the rolls. i loveee it , everything was fresh uou pay per head $27 and you get all these amazing ingredients and make your own roll. The sauce dipping was well balanced and the right amount of chilli, had oxtail soup also which i also enjoyed. Would definitely come back,
We ordered the 돼지국밥 and 제육볶음. It has been a very long time since we’ve eaten such deliciously clean and authentic Korean food. The side dishes were very fresh and tasty too. All in all, it was a very nice meal. Highly recommended!
Love the woolnamssam (rice paper rolls) here! Have been eating the rice paper rolls here since they were closer to top Ryde years ago. The dipping sauce is deliciously spicy but if it's too hot, I suggest pouring some the juice from the pineapple into the sauce! The added sweetness is delicious. Will definitely be back 🤗🥰
The restaurant is very clean and serves great food. We ordered the fish and pork bone soup.
The fish was really crispy and well seasoned. The pork bone soup was not my preference but my partner really enjoyed it.
Their banchan is also very tasty. I would come back and try other dishes.
Looking for hearty Korean soup? Feeling down, cold, hungover or all of the above? Maroo can warm you up on a winters night, and make you feel loved like your mother's home cooking. They have so much soup you wish you were swimming in it when you're having a bath at home.
Clean restaurant, food was good, service was friendly. I enjoyed the banchan very much, especially the radish and coriander. The soup was tasty though, I had sundae guk (blood sausage soup), very generous portion. There isn't a lot to choose from from the menu, but I was happy with what I ordered.

This place sells authentic Korean home food. It's clean and fresh. PS Koreans order the rice paper roll platters take away from here. This is place is probably most well-known in Sydney for it.
Jokbal was the best dish for me here! I was looking for Jokbal everywhere and tried so many places. I think it is the best. I'm happy to find this place.
Authentic, clean and fresh Korean food!
