Encasa Rapido is a Spanish takeaway joint by Encasa in Chifley Square that serves a range of bocadillo sandwiches, salads and sides for lunch. We had heard great things about this place so stopped here for lunch with my colleague one weekday. For our mains we ordered the Tapas box with chorizo, calamari, potato bravas and salad. This is one of the new items on the menu and it was delicious, there was a generous serving of chorizo and calamari and the potato bravas was well cooked and had the perfect creamy mayonnaise sauce.
We’re quite lucky to have Encasa just around the corner for work.
They offer great options for lunch, that don’t break the budget!
The empanadas here are fantastic, as well as the other tapas options. They also do rolls with fillings such as chorizo and grilled chicken.
The service is quick and food is always fresh and delicious!
The salads here are also fabulous!
Encasa is a casual Spanish restaurant serving homely food that aims to be 100% authentic. With 4 different stores and locations, it’s super popular in Sydney. We visited the Chifley Square location which is easy to get some
lunch quickly whilst taking a break from work. Famous for their croquetas, Patatas Bravas and Bocadillos, you’ll find delicious food!
We had a range of things including
Croquetas, Empanadas, Paco Ensalada (Spanish style Caesar with crispy jamon, cantabric anchovies, paco’s dressing & shaved manchego with chicken), so fresh and tasty! We also tried a few tapas including Pepito Bocadillo (eye fillet medallions, fried egg, cheese, lettuce, tomato, aioli), the Pancho Bocadillo (crumbed chicken tenderloin, bacon, cheese, tomato, lettuce, chipotle mayo). What a perfect lunch - we were super happy!
If you have ever looked for Spanish cuisine in Sydney CBD, chances are you would have stumbled across Encasa on Pitt Street, a popular venue serving traditional Spanish dishes for over twenty years. Owners Maria Barona and Francisco “Pachi” Rodriguez recently opened a second store in Lane Cove as well as express take-away counters at both Westfield’s Pitt Street Mall and Chifley Square.
Encasa has further expanded in the city and have a new outlet located in Chifley Plaza in the food court. A host of new exciting food outlets will make this particular food court more attractive. Although all the new outlets have not opened as yet, this was one of first!
With an attractive frontage which is reminiscent of their other stores located in Sydney, it would be most similar to the deli one as they have lots of bocatas (breakfast) and bocadillos (lunch) for sale. They also have a delicious looking range of cakes as well. Have a feeling I might be visiting more than once and be back for lunch! I was feeling hungry this morning and decided upon a breakfast roll and regular coffee special ($10). I had the Bocata De Chorizo Y Huevos. Essentially chorizo and fried eggs on a sourdough roll. The roll was so crunchy on the outside and nice and chewy on the inside. Loved the chorizo and eggs combination. The sauce had a bit of slight spicy kick to it. Mocha was lovely with a creamy taste to it.
The service here is jovial and can see some are learning the ropes but friendly staff will make this place a success like their other outlets. I liked the range of meats they have in the cabinet and hanging up as well.

As a regular diner here, I’ve always enjoyed the range of bocadillos for both breakfast and lunch. Have always had delicious food here and service is on point. Coffees are pretty good too. The bocadillos for lunch are massive and would be surprised if you were still hungry after that.
Chifley Plaza is finally back open after months of renovations and Encasa Rapido is quick off the mark as one of the first new eateries to open in the space. Chorizo Bocadillo - Grilled Spanish sausage, roast capsicum, tomato, Spanish onion & aioli ($12.50) comes in a nice crusty baguette and plenty of tasty chorizo with a mild spice. Nice combo of flavours and easy to eat without being too messy. Spotted some tempting Spanish muffins, alfajores, portuguese tarts and almond croissants on display for a sugar hit. Loving the new decor and seating options on Level One. Sort of reminds me of a hotel lobby bar for some reason in parts. Plenty of other eateries still to open and hopefully soon.
One of my fave Syd foods. Love the calamares, canario (unfortunately taken off the menu now) and chorizo. The perfect combo of fresh crusty bread, perfectly cooked fillings and sauce takes you to foodie heaven every time
Best Spanish sandwiches (bocadillos) in Sydney! They’re all delicious but can’t go past Pepito or Calamares bocadillos. Highly recommend.
Portugues sandwich was so good. I was surprised to see the large amount of chicken meat in the sandwich. The chicken was tender and juciy. Highly recommended
The best bacon and egg roll in the city! Crisp roll and bacon, perfectly cooked egg. The coffee is also exceptional and a decent temperature. Consistency of the food here is amazing and the staff are happy and helpful.
Absolutely love dining here. Their bocadillos for both breakfast and lunch are moreish. Especially love the Spanish Omelette with the potato and egg combo in a nice crusty roll. The Pepito with the eye fillet steak, egg, cheese and salad is a winner too. Very hearty! Coffees are pretty good too. They use the Calima brand. Service is always friendly and nice.
The sandwiches are the bomb! We always come here when we have the chance to do so. Coffee is great, but it's the salami and cheese baguettes that we come for.
Encasa is a local favorite with friendly staff serving delicious, artisanal foods. The Pork Loin sandwich is a 'go to'...make sure to say YES when they ask if you want it toasted...the rich flavors you experience will have you coming back for more.
Very delicious. Would be 5/5 but portions seem to have gotten significantly smaller - their notion of a "jumbo" is quite modest and now feels mediocre value for money wise next to a lot of other choices at the food court, including some healthy/interesting ones (not just comparing them to some huge nachos plate or heat-lamp curry or something).
