A great local pub located in Capitol Square, the Palace Hotel offers good food, booze, and a lively environment. I remember going here quite frequently when i was in university, and Friday nights here use to go off!
We got the cheese platter from a Groupon deal, although it's not the most aesthetic platter- you get more than what you pay for, an array of cheeses and sides.
The downside i'd say, is the construction and road work happening outside of the place.
Also it does have a tendency to get rowdy during happy hour.
well this place has cheap beer which is called tiger you have happy hours on this always and after 9 the kitchen is almost closed so one can bring their food from other nearby places and eat here . It's a old bar since 1877 so the round heavy tables makes you feel like a vintage person ....stay raw !!!
Our work team frequents this place often (every Friday) for their Steak and Chips. It is one of their lunch special at $12 per dish. I had mine Medium with salad and it was good! I can understand why they go every week! Apparently the Fish and chips is good too and comes with a side salad.
I’ve only just recovered from trying the Palace Hotel Ghost Chilli Chicken Wing Challenge in Sydney. I spent the night of the challenge in special amounts of pain on the couch, willing my stomach to stop trying to eat itself and most of yesterday wishing my stomach had been successful so other regions didn’t have to deal with it :/
The Palace Hotel covers all the bases. Located on the corner of George and Hay Street in Haymarket, it places you in the middle of a business and entertainment district for a great modern pub dinner in a refurbished 1887 building.
This place is right underneath capitals! Near passion flower. It has great customer service but keep in mind that we dined here around 5pm-ish.
Must have parmigiana!. I ate at this pub while over on holiday from Perth, I have sampled parmigiana'a from most of out iconic pubs but this one takes the cake! I order it accompanied with the onion rings, which were deliciously crispy! Along with the sauce and cheese they tasted amazing. The chicken was crumbed beautifully and the bacon was lovely and crunchy. By far an excellent lunch and a must try when in the area. I will defiantly be returning in the future.
Staff and Food were amazing!!! Love the $10.00 meals and Jug of Bakalar were def well worth every penny!!! Fortune cookie Thursdays and $4.00 beers on Fridays!! Big thumbs up for me
$10 meals. I have to disagree with the person complaining about the schnitzel and steak. The are excellent value for $10.I'm not sure what you want for $10. I've eaten here a few times. They have some really good menu items. The ribs are unreal!
