Visited on a early Monday - the coffee shop itself was a bit quiet. A couple of takeaways in an hour duration when I was there. We ordered two coffees and both were delicious. The iced latte tastes nutty with milk based espresso while the cold drip has a fresh sour fruity flavour. The barista was quick, friendly and accommodating. The space was decorated modern, I would say there are many very instagrammable photo spots. Also bought a bag of their coffee for my home brew filter because I loved the taste of my cold drip. $18 for 250g bag coffee.
Open fro take away only, during this second lockdown.
Very quite when I visited, bought afternoon piccolo for my self.
Coffee is not bad at all, decor was good too, even I would say not bad for Instagram picture😀
Coming from Taipei where proper light roasted single origin hand pour is THE THING I was really missing that distinct notes and aroma from a properly brewed hand pour coffee. Not only are their roasted beans stunning but Tim also just made the most amazing hand pour coffee with the exact notes that’s supposed to be: chocolate, guava and floral. I finally got my fix of a proper hand poured coffee in Sydney!
Gorgeous little find and a local gem. Make sure you pop downstairs to eat in the beautiful garden out the back. Great food, excellent burgers on the menu, ace beans and the staff are top notch too!
Really lovely atmosphere, which for the area is a nice surprise. There is a number of spots to sit, inside, outside, couches, bar stools, lots of options.
Burger loves would be excited. I'm not a burger person so had a wrap which had good ingredients but I didn't realise it came toasted & I'm not a massive fan of cooked lettuce lol. There was also a surprise chilli kick. I look forward to ordering other items from the menu I.e. The salads sound good!
Food came quickly, which is great as I only get a short lunch break. Price is medium - wrap was $14.50 (see menu in my photographs) Finally great to see there isn't a surcharge for using your Credit/Debit Card!
The Upside Café is open for X'mas & New Year day.
Don't let the entrance (or the front part) of this place fool you. It may look small, but go in, go through the back and you'll be met with a small and cozy beer garden. There's also other little rooms that fits a small number of people.
The Burgers are good. My fave breakfast burger is the Spicy BBQ Roll. The bacon is crispy, the egg gooey, the brioche bun nice and warm.... it's making my mouth water just describing the food.
I also like their take-away coffee cups. They have some words of wisdom written on them. It brightens my day when I read them.
