Review Naruone Korean Restaurant - Sydney

Bella
The staff was nice. Would recommend the chicken, soups and side dishes. The portions are pretty good too. Came with 12 people we bought a chicken plate and we couldn’t finish it. Have come around three times and it’s always been a pleasant visit. Favourite dishes is the spicy rice cake and the soy sauce chicken. Has a nice vibe. Clean. Wouldn’t recommend the BBQ though, it isn’t the best. But the other dishes are great!!!

I really cannot understand why this restaurant is underrated. The food is wonderful and fresh, I ate them all. I visited this restaurant about one year ago, service is polite and nice too. hope it will be open again. why some people give such low rate to this restaurant?
Miss Deliziosa
Came here on a busy Friday night but was seated within 10 mins as we were only a table of 2. I have been here quite a few times over the course of the years it has been open. I haven’t experienced bad service like some other people but have noticed the fried chicken & portions slightly smaller & not as good as it once was. The wagyu slices we had was also a little chewy with a bit too much fat on it. It maybe a little longer of a wait if you come here in a group so be prepared to wait. Service was attentive & food still not bad. I would come back here again as I have in the past.

High price compare to its quality. More than $30 for traditional Korean fried chicken, but it was not much special, just same KFC. I tried the Gingseng chicken soup and was dispapointed :( BBQ, potato noodle were fine. We could not finish our dinner so far. One thing impressed me was the decoration with so many pics of Korean celebrities on the wall around us and warm light.

Stumbled on this one and thought we would give it a go. Looks pretty nice from the outside. Decor was great and place was well lit (better for photos). As far as the food is concerned, no real complaints. Much and much really. We had the BBQ option so it was a matter of cooking it ourselves.. so obviously can’t complain. We also ordered the Steamed Pork Hock. Honestly, not really my cup of tea although if you like that kind of thing, I am sure this is good. One draw back, which seems stupid, was the fact our ‘Hot Green Tea’ was literally just a Twinings Green Tea in a teapot (they even left the Twinings tag on it). Not that impressed with that.

kimchi jjigae is a perfect dish for a rainy sydney day and you can't go wrong at most korean restaurants in koreatown. The Naruone version of this dish isn't bad just a little too sweet for my tastes.

So decided to eat here as it looks very cosy and welcoming I was greatly disappointed with the food menu. Eager to try the bbq menu but way over priced when there are much cheaper options available in china town. With larger portions of food and meat and vegetables. Had a ReAly bad experience with food just all full of finely chopped lettuce and carrots with little meat . Don’t bother coming here unless you have a big budget to spend.

Tasty, trendy Korean BBQ. Service could have been a bit better, especially one snappy male waitstaff who was a little rude when we asked for additional sides. No sesame oil available which was a little strange, overall we enjoyed the atmosphere & meals so 4 stars is suitable. Would go back.

Korean fried chicken and waygu BB'Q beef are must try, delicious and authentic Korean food, friendly service and conviently located

The restaurant is decorated to look like a cute library, but they placed too many photos of Korean celebrities all over the walls which just looks tacky.<br/><br/> The service is poor. The staff struggle speaking English, and they seem busy walking around aimlessly. The staff are not attentive when trying to get their attention.<br/><br/>The food is standard however their fried chicken is very well cooked. Good place to go to get your fried chicken fix as they are open until very late.

This is simply the worst Korean restaurant in Sydney. Absolutely do NOT eat here. I ordered kimchi pork stew and fried chicken. There’s no kimchi in the stew, the meal comes with no kimchi side dish, the side dishes are 3 puny pieces of potato and Japanese seaweed, the fried chicken comes with no sauce, salt or chicken radish. The food is barely edible. These things are absolute basic at a Korean restaurant and simply they are targeting foreigners who do not know Korean food. Everyone eating here are foreign young students who know nothing about Korean food. It makes me sad. This restaurant needs to be shut down. It just gives all the other Korean restaurants in Sydney a bad rep.

Have been check the reviews before book and go this restaurant. It's 2.5 rate. Was thinking may not right like the rate. Give a try may not right. But the fact is everything is low like the rate. Food was so so , expensive ,slow service. And we been there cause they say in zomato close at 4 am at Saturday . But we been told at at 12.30 am that closing at 1 am and say the manager already told the customer that close at 1 am.but no one telling us.<br/>So disappointed .

The decor is nice! And that’s about where the positive comments finish. <br/><br/>Taste is below average and service is slow. Expensive too.
AmseeC
Ordered cold noodle, fried chicken and pork rib soup. Only recommend the fried chicken. The other two dishes were really average.

I’ve always considered this place one of my favourites but the food disappoints compared to the places around it. Although their kimchi is great they were very scummy on my stone bowl Bibimbap which was $18 (not cheap). The ambience is amazing so if you are after a clean modern funky ambience I recommend it and probably the chicken or BBQ but not bulgolgi or Bibimbap
SH
Nice fried chicken but slow service

the food presentation was 100! but the food was underseasoning 🤭

Shouldn't be spreading hate but really this restaurant is the worst Korean restaurant i've ever been in sydney. Me and my friend Came in for the rolled omelette as shown on the side of the main door, they don't even have one on the menu. <br/><br/>Food was terrible. Ordered spicy pork with rice, kimchi soup and steamed egg. Spicy pork with rice and the kimchi soup came first, both tasted horrible and we thought "they couldn't go wrong with the steamed egg, right?". We were wrong. Tasted so bad. They burned the steamed egg. Not recommended. No offence

I have to say this is the worst Korean restaurant I have ever had. Really should improve! I ordered three dishes and every one tastes bad!!!
Dru Rustin
We were really disappointed with our experience. Firstly, most of the house specials were unavailable. Secondly, the wait staff took our order incorrectly and took a long time to correct it. When it was corrected the serving size was questionable. I enjoyed this place in the past but I’ll never return again after this experience.

Made a Zomato to express how disappointed I am after last night's dinner at Naruone..<br/>I have eaten at Naruone every now and then for the past 3-4 years but the standards of this restaurant has dropped.<br/><br/>After 20-30 mins of waiting and reminding the staff about our last item that has yet to arrive (The Egg Soup) it finally made its appearance completely overcooked looking like a yellow brain with smoke fuming out (unlike what traditional korean egg soup should look like). At this point, we were already skeptical but decided to pry it open to reveal the inside half burnt with uneven grey patches amongst the unburnt (yellow) sections. Needless to say, it tasted and smelt burnt.<br/><br/>We informed staff who then alerted the manager who decided to try it for herself. Unfortunately, she returned with a straight face and told us it was fine which was evidently NOT fine. We left that egg untouched for the rest of the night and was charged in full for it.<br/><br/>Fried chicken and hotpot was mediocre but the egg soup combined with the attitude from the manager was absolutely appalling. <br/><br/>Plenty of better restaurants next door and I will not be returning to Naruone again.

the waitress are too busy to provided the on time services. The food are not really attractive, the taste also just quite normal. But the environment is the beautiful and funny where good for taking photos

Surprised to see one of the best Korean places has become so bad. Our guess it’s under new management? Side dishes are really less in amount comparing to the long waiting time, the waitress had a look at our empty side dish plates and walked away confidently. Not to mention the over price food and surcharge. The worst is of course the food! Waited for 30 minutes, got the wrong dish(without sauce served), waited for another 10 minutes and bibimbap is serviced with only beef mince ($18!). Couldn’t even finish half as the dish is tasteless. My friend ordered steam egg which is clearly over cooked. It is not about our personal tastes, there must be new receipts? New chef and new management which don’t care to keep the standard of this good place. Such a shame it won’t be able to survive in the competition.
Vegan Foodie
Absolutely disappointment! Worst Korean resturant ive been to. Over priced, did not look anything like the photo...not even close!!! Ordered a vegetable hot pot and removed the egg, waiter first told me i wasn't allowed to removed anything off from the food...then made it sounds like I was special cause the chef allowed for it.... when the food came out it was pretty disappointing..very bland... didn't even have any sauce cause it wasn't vegan...<br/>Wouldnt even call it a Korean restaurant..waste of money...<br/>Only thing that looked nice was the interior.... wasting money on the wrong aspects..
Raphaelegrossman
Overpriced, noisy. Waiters are not attentive at all. We have to ask a few times just to get some more water. The food is bland, especially the hot pot.

I seldom write reviews but tonight I went to the effort of downloading this app just so I could give this once great Korean establishment a shite review.<br/>I've had the great pleasure of frequenting many Korean BBQ joints for pork belly and shots of Soju. Naruone used to be the joint with fine cut meat. There used to be long lines to get in cos everyone would wait the time to just to get a taste despite the terrible table service cos the food was delicious. But alas there must be new management because the food is subpar. They don't even use the in table bbq and the meat is super market quality at best.<br/>The egg casserole came out like a fried omelette we had to turn it back twice out of not getting what we were used to.<br/><br/>I should have known something was off when I couldn't see any Koreans eating in this once great joint and on second looking the staff was no longer Korean. I remember they had mixed staff before to cater to all the nationalities but now they may as well have anyone working cos the food is so far from Korean it's like eating at a restaurant that benneton made.<br/><br/>If you want real Korean food go to Madang around the corner. If you want a thrice filtered Korean version of food translated through Google translate and back and back again this place will get your mouth watering.<br/><br/>Do your mouth a favour and go anywhere else.
Meredithpeng0413
The food is just simply disappointing and over priced. Looks like they didn’t put much effort in this. The soup tasted like it was seasoned with cheap instant noodle spice packet.
Hannah Walter
The food came out really late, there wasnt enough staff on the floor so we often got neglected. First time eating Korean food in my life, didnt provide knowledge on how to cook dakgalbi or didnt even help us. Our food got burnt and we asked for replacement they manager served me with an attitude. Would not recommend this place. Witness few other tables nearby us also had their food burnt or on fire (on KBBQ). No assitance were provided
Hayley
Came on a Friday lunch time and it was quiet. There were some lunch specials but since we were a big group, we just went for the fried chicken. We ordered the original, spicy and a creamy cheese one. We also ordered kimchi pancake and seafood pancake.  <br/><br/>The seafood pancake was much nicer than the kimchi pancake as it was crispy, the kimchi one was a little bit soggy. Really enjoyed the original and the spicy fried chicken but the creamy cheese one taste a little funny, with mayonnaise and cabbage, it was a bit like a fried chicken in coleslaw sauce.

The worst Korean food I have never tried. 1 star is for it’s quiet dining experience. <br/><br/>1. Stinky <br/>Two-level restaurant: the level on the ground is for BBQ, and the underground is for Korean food. But! Their underground smells funny 😂. And the floor and the table are sticky. <br/><br/>2. Frugal <br/>In Korean restaurants, normally 4 or 5 free cold appetisers are offered before the food. But they only offer 3. I am not expecting the free appetisers, but obviously 🙄 they fail to meet the industry standard. <br/><br/>3. Disappointing food <br/>The food, frankly, quite disappointing. I didn’t see the raw egg yolk in the beef bibimbap. Second, the pork soup taste pale. Steam eggs looks nice, but actually over-cooked and chewy. ( I was expecting it melts in my mouth, but turn out to be as hard as stone) <br/><br/>4. Customer-‘unfriendly’ <br/>Only one waiter service underground and seems he is new. Also, the waiter’s hair is really oily and *********** automatically omitted by myself, don’t wanna be rude.) <br/><br/>Besides, if you pay by card, 0.5% to 1.5% surcharge applies. <br/><br/>The overall experience: 🙄 Rolled up my eyes - never and ever return it again.
Dicko Roll
Went with my friend for lunch. Food serving small for the bbq meat and sides small as well as limited variety. Service was lousy as well not attentive.
Nadia Wayland
Great food and good service. Would recommend this place to anybody who would like to have a Korean BBQ. The downside is that the place can get squishy when crowded and there is a small surcharge for card payments. Overall would come back again.
Wesley Ho
One of the best Korean restaurant in Sydney CBD that you should try. Their fried chicken is awesome. Not just fried chicken, they also have Korean seafood pancake and kimchi soup with noodle. Very generous side dishes and you can ask one of the staff to topping up the side dish when it runs out. Good interior with pictures of famous person on the wall. Come and try it for yourself. The price is reasonable too.
Jaclyn Kong
Food was decent however there were ridiculous surcharges such as $2 for side dish refills (despite us having 4 people and would be entitled to refills). Additional surcharges applicable for debit cards (savings card). Feels like this place is trying to rip customers off. Different pricing for soju as it says $5 at the front of the shop. Upon ordering, the waitress said that the pricing is only applicable to customers seated downstairs. We were not told this at the start. Never coming back.
Danny
Which Korean restaurants charges different prices for soju between upstairs and downstairs?? Which Korean restaurant charges for side dish refills. The answer is Naruone. This is a disgrace.

아주 끔찍했음. 뚝배기 남이 먹던거에 그대로 끓여서 나오면 같은 국밥이니까 모를줄알았어요? 위치가 씨티만 아니였어도 가게 벌써 망했어요<br/>every thing that i saw , i had at this restraunt were terrible<br/>the dishes were very dirty, looks like they reused the dishes without washing them.<br/>if you do miss korean food or want to try to korean food,<br/>you shoud go to strathfield i would say
Rach
Great decor ✔️ Great staff ✔️Great service ✔️ Great pork kimchi stew and cold noodles ✔️ And one of the best korean fried chickens I’ve ever had!! ✔️✔️✔️
Fiona Chen
We ordered seafood tofu stew and pancake yesterday. Overall the food was good, but the fishball was not fresh at all, i believe the cook just randomly put a nearly expired freezen fishball in the soup. Pancake tastes a bit sour and spicy. Love it.
Zhouyingeve
Bad service. Overpriced food. Staff kept coming to your table to push you to urge you to order food rather than focusing on providing good food.<br/><br/>Serve instant noodle as ramen and charged $16 for that. Are you fooling the customers??
Andrea Chu
Only if I can rate 0 star, I would definitely do it. Worse kimchi ever given. Extremely expensive BBQ meats and not fresh. Ordered steamed eggs but overcooked and burned which they even have the guts to charge us for it. The smoke ventilator wasn't good enough which caused the fire alarm beeps. We ended up going to a different place to continue off our dinner.
Zwyrrico
I’m sorry but that’s the worst Korean food I had ever. Nothing taste good here, I am doubting the chief have no idea what Korean food taste like. Me and my friends didn’t even finish our food before leave. I will never come again

The decor is great and so was the service but thats where the good things end.<br/>The downfall of this place are the portion sizes of the kbbq. We ordered the pork loin, 2 pieces for $25, that is beyond expensive. They werent even large pieces. The wagu skirt steak was $26 for about 8 measly strips. <br/>The soup was very very bland, and the kfc nothing to ride home about, sort of crispy and lacking in flavour. <br/>

the placew is pretty good and the photos wall in the restaurant is beautiful.<br/>fried chicken with spring onion is quite good!<br/>the sauce with wasabi is delicious.

Visited this beautifully decorated Korean restaurant amid the hustle and bustle of the CBD in Sydney. There was a pretty broad variety of Korean authentic foods in their menu.<br/><br/>The foods there were awesome especially their Korean fried chickens, which are always my favourite choice when it comes to Korean cuisine.<br/><br/>I love the ambience there too as the restaurant was brightly lit and embellished with eclectic decorations and exquisite artworks, pleasing my mind and senses aesthetically.<br/><br/>Food & Beverage : 8/10<br/>Service : 7/10<br/>Price : 6/10<br/>Ambience : 8/10

If you love KFC chicken, then you will love their chicken selections. The boneless chicken that we ordered taste exactly the same as the one in KFC. The korean bbq though is a let down, the portions are small and it’s expensive. Customer service is not bad and the ambience is okay.
BrandonK
I went to NaruOne with a friend as we were too lazy to walk to Wagyu House in Surry Hills. I am a lunchtime regular as their pork rib stew is wonderful. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for dinner and I really struggled to rate this restaurant.<br/><br/>On the plus side, it’s a great looking restaurant inside. Been really well decorated. The fried chicken was pretty good.<br/><br/>On the negative side, the service is abysmally slow. If they had taken another few more minutes, we would have walked out. I wish we had! The bbq is outrageously expensive, averaging some $30 for a 160g plate of beef and no, it isn’t wagyu. The plate of beef you see in the photo cost $60!! That is daylight robbery. It is expensive to the point of being laughable. <br/><br/>Unfortunately, I just can’t recommend this restaurant at its prices for the bbq and the abysmally slow service. It’s a joke. I’ll never be back for dinner. <br/>
Jitski
Busy place, we were downstairs which can be quite crammed. They served pretty nice tap beer. KFC is pretty dry by itself, bibimbap was good, so was the tofu pork soup and rice. The ginseng chicken was a bit dry as well. Overall food was ok, not too bad but not fantastic either.
The Next Rush
This place is ok, came in for what the sign out the front promotes "Chicken & Beer". There's a KFC spicy wings feel to the chicken here, but you need to buy the additional dipping sauce because I'm not sure the chicken can stand up on its own - or you could plough yourself with a few beers first - eitherway, it needs accompaniment. The interior design is interesting. The walls are covered with self portraits of Korean celebrities and bordered by a book case filled with interesting literature that you are not allowed to touch. Nice space all in all. Service I found, was quite passive but when you did get it, it was good. It's worth a visit.
Jk
I would not recommend this place to anyone. The food is far from fresh and the place is not hygenic. I had seen bugs in this place and the utensils are very dirty. The cups they gave had chilli pepper left on them. The food quality is pretty appaling - try elsewhere.
Teresa
Very tasty wagyu bbq and seaweed. I also liked the citron they add to the salad. It’s a very cool and cozy place to have dinner with friends!

I would rate a ZERO star if there was an option. My friend and I were asked to pay the bill despite we didn’t finish the meal on a Friday night. The reason being he as a waiter has the right to ask customers to leave if they dine in for more than 1.5 hours. He claimed impertinently (with f words) that it was the rule that customers had to follow no matter if they were done with the food or not. We insisted to finish the last bit of our drinks and followed with his threats of calling the police. The attitude of that waiter was of no help to the situation as he was really loud and resentful. What would make a better dining experience is either we are informed about the dining time limitation prior to the order or we are asked more politely to pay the bill. There was neither customer service nor respect from that waiter and the restaurant. More importantly customers who arrived earlier than us was not asked to leave but oddly enough only us was treated in this way. I would have to call it racist as there is no other reasonable explanation for it.
Adelbert Villacorta
Ordered takeaway and it took them 45 minutes to serve our order. We only ordered 3 dishes. Service could have been so much better. No designated waiting areas and the 5 of us in the group stood by the steps waiting. One of our orders was apparently sold out and it took them 20 minutes after ordering to find out and tell us. Food was average.<br/>
Nina NN
Not impressed with their service culture. We ordered take away in an almost empty restaurant. The wait staff were unwilling to let us sit in the restaurant to wait and asked us to stand outside the door to wait for our order.
Nicole
Abysmally bad service compared to other Korean BBQ restaurants around Sydney. Staff looked they were ready to call it quits at 6pm. Meat was overpriced for both the quality and quantity. Lots of other KBBQ restaurants around - try and avoid if possible
Lily
Quite a popular Korean restaurant on Pitt St. Have been here a few times, however the food has been inconsistent. There are other better Korean restaurants with similar menu and price. Service could be improved as well.
Rachel
The food was amazing. The only problem we had was with the service. We had the bbq, so it was expected to be given tongs and scissors while cooking the meat. We weren’t given any and had to ask three times for it. We had to repeatedly ask for things when we needed something because they kept forgetting to give it to us. <br/><br/>But I do highly recommend the fried chicken it was PERFECT. It was so good that we ended up ordering a second plate and I would definitely go back for it.
Culinary Artist
Love the decor of this place.<br/>Recently they just had a refurbishment, they do have extra seat in front now, very closed to the street ( I think it was a waiting room outside before )<br/>Anyway, KFC, Korean Fried Chicken is good, but missing an umph! <br/>Then the seafood pancake just a little oily, but taste ok in my opinion.<br/>Service so standard!<br/>
Tangjuanyue
terrible food and terrible service. the waiters will not notice you whats in the meal.they reject helping you dealing with some food that is hard cut.the soup tasted so bad!
Espresso&Matcha
After the very big lunch we had at Dining Room, and the afternoon tea we had at Koi, Queen V and I wanted nothing more than to get something simple and nearby to the hotel for dinner after our daily afternoon nap (yes, we travelled to Sydney for the sole purpose of eating and sleeping). Initially we had our sights set on Miso for a homey dinner, but it was closed. With her love of everything Korean, when we stumbled on Naruone, we decided to give it a shot.

Worst service ever!<br/>I don't understand why still many people go this place!<br/>I won't go there again. I'm sure I'm not the only one who think this way.
Olivia Yang
Very strange dining experience. The waiters were all very clumsy, dropping plates and cutlery every few minutes and swearing while picking them up. Food was very average, the tofu stew was much too oily for my liking.
Yin
Bad not even authentic Korean food. Overpriced. Poor service as well. Will not come ever again. Many other better Korean restaurants in the surrounding area
Annie Wang
Absolutely terrible. The worst services I have ever experienced. We waited half an hour for our hot pot and tofu salad. Another table came in later than us has been eating for more than 10min and ordered for the same Tofu salad. We asked the waitress to serve our dish quickly but she shouted at us. I asked to see the manager and the waitress shouted at us said she is the manager. Now I can see why this place is just so terrible. Don't know what kind of "amazing" tofu salad will take more than half an hour to make. The place I will never go again. Even don't know how can they exist on this world.

Nice place, clean, comfy and the waitress came to us with a smile and give us the best table 😊 close to the window 😊 Korean drama star’s picture all over the wall and I recognised (almost) all of them 😉<br/>We ordered wagyu brisket and the thick one it came with a little bit of veg 😬 the side dishes was not as much as other Korean restaurant but quiet tasty! Love the kimchi! We ordered (not so) Spicy Pork Bone Soup and it was nice! The kids loved it! I was craving for the fried chicken but unfortunately they don’t have it that time 😌<br/>The service was great!<br/>Definitely will come back (to try the fried chicken)!
CherryPie
Two thumbs up! We took a punt on this place without consulting zumato (gasp) and we were very impressed. Friendly greeting at the door, nice fitout and comfy seats made for a good start. We ordered the bulgogi pancake and the sweet and spicy boneless chicken and were wowed by both. A nice selection of banchan and Hite beer on the menu, I think we've found our favorite Korean chicken place.<br/>Maybe next time we'll try the bbq.....

The decor looks great, didnt order much food, tastes quite ok. The lower ground level of the restaurant doesnt serves bbq, need to wait quite a time to order food, looks like understaffed for Friday night.
Justin Nguyen
To start, the service by a waitress named Scarlett was appalling, who handled every situation poorly and was very rude to our group of 8. As we were sat at a bigger table, Scarlett came over and told us we had to move, with food already at our table. She then moved a couple who was already seated with food to another table so that we could sit there. This agitated both our group and the couple who just unfortunately was caught in the drama. The couple were clearly agitated and was not pleased and for that we apologise to them for what they had to go through. <br/><br/>The food served here consists of fried chicken and KBBQ at a very expensive cost ($28 for 180g of meat). The chicken tastes very generic had little "korean" taste to it. The restaurant also charges for EVERYTHING. We paid an extra $5 for them to turn on the KBBQ. We also bought cake for a birthday, and was told we would be charged $10 to eat the cake there, so we left without eating the cake.Overall, poor service for expensive food. Would not recommend as there is a cheap and amazing all you can eat KBBQ on the opposite side of the street.

Ordered kimchi soup and was presented with kimchi flavoured water. Super disappointed. Their fried chicken was semi decent but otherwise would not visit again

b4 I forgot, im, leaving a message. I was here 10 mins ago<br/>1. There is no place to keep ourbags except on our-table.<br/>2. we asked manager to change the gas, she had an angry look on herface.<br/>3. There is one kitchen and two floors. so, all the foods were served so late.<br/>4. The picture is noodles boiled for 10 mins looks sticky and disgusting. It's not even suitable for dog food.<br/>If u are broaded mind and a rich, I recommend going there<br/>5. The sweet potato noodle is the worst I ever had. The beef is not fresh as well. It's just taste bad .<br/>Overall just feel disappointed and absolutely not recommended place to go.
Cindy Zhou
Terrible, both in terms of its food and service. I wonder how could a restaurant like this even survive? Staff are not attentive at all. We ordered a spicy rice cake and it came with only eight small pieces of rice cake which is definitely a mismatch in relation to its price - $15. Plus, it tastes bad too, probably the worst rice cake I've ever had in Australia. I will never visit the restaurant again. I rate one because it's easy to find.
Jeanne Yu
So bad. The seafood tofu soup was terrible, literally gluggy chilli and hot water. The fried chicken was so average. For korean food the meal was expensive and bland and tasteless. Would not return
Michelle King
Service is on point, staff are super attentive. Food is also great! Fried chicken is a must try here. The beef is also top quality. Has quickly become a go to.

This restaurant is the worst you could expect. After placing the hotspot on our table it EXPLODED!!! It spilled all over my stuff! The waiter and waitress did nothing but switched table for us and acted like nothing happened! This restaurant should be closed for good.
Brunonono...
....stingiest side dish Korean restaurant I've ever been too...and that doesn't serve warm water when they serve hot green tea - come on :) <br/><br/>So we ordered the Beef Shabu Shabu...and there's three prawns and two dumplings okay that's interesting - guess that's a highlight; later I'll regret that statement...<br/><br/>The soup base was just msg and water...I mean look either give dashi broth or just water but this is just kinda embarrassing.<br/><br/>I'd say yeah the vegetables and beef it'd say yes met expectations but a some bad and some average ain't gonna be a good experience better? <br/><br/>Maybe the fried chicken is great...? Maybe the BBQ is the bomb...! I don't know but see I'll think twice now before I every decide to come back...Many Korean restaurants in Korea only serve this or will only serve that because that's simply what they do best! Yes I might have walked in wanting to get hotpot and realise oh you don't serve it...guess I'll go somewhere else but at least I'll be like oh they only serve fried chicken...must be good - that's showing me confidence :) <br/><br/>Also what is this salt water frozen prawns? Is it supposed to make it seem fresher...? You know as if it just came out of the sea...? Or we just trying to preserve frozen food more by salting it to the max?<br/><br/><br/><br/>
Toby Li
The restaurant gives a great vibe and feel, with a mix of modern and a bit of an old'esque feel to it. The music creates an awesome atmosphere and isn't too loud.<br/>Foodwise, we didn't have the fried chicken or BBQ so judgement cannot be passed on that. Panchan was as it normally is in Sydney, average at best.<br/>The best dish on the table was the steamed spicy beef rib. The sauce and vegetables in that pot was exquisite and i would order this again. I would've preferred if the ribs where stir fried instead of steamed.<br/>We ordered chicken and vegetable rice porridge which had its intended flavour but lacked extremely in salt. We also had beef soup with rice (which is one of my all-time favourite dishes). It was a complete disappointment. It lacked in any flavour whatsoever and again it felt like no salt was used. It was like drinking hot, ever so slightly flavoured water.<br/>All in all, will have to come again to try their chicken and BBQ but otherwise won't be coming back for their soups.
Truc Huynh
Above average price for below average food. The glass noodles were really dry and wasn't done well for such an iconic Korean dish. Kind of enjoyed the strange taste of the spicy pork soup, bug probably wouldn't order again.
Lin
Ambiance: good<br/>Food: badService : Horrible.  <br/><br/>The manager mertin , on the 28th  demanded us to move despite to fit more customers in, despite there being plenty of  empty tables nearby.
Bo Meng
Does the job for when you have a sudden craving Korean food. A bit on the expensive side for below average food. Might as well go to Madang since you're already here.
Emmau1998
The only thing that keeps me from giving a rating of 1 is the product. Spicy chicken was awesome, tteokbokki was delicious and I had raspberry wine which was very pleasant as well. Service desperately needs improvement, I ordered 2 portions of chicken with my friend and a waitress came up to us and said those were too much, and then she told another waitress and she came to us and said the same thing. I found this to be inappropriate and rude because it was pretty much none of their business.

The food was alright. However, when me and my friends ordered a medium hotpot, the pot was really small yet the food inside was overloaded so we can't cook the ones which wasn't covered by the soup. We asked the waiters how to cook them if its too full, they looked confused and they tried to cook it for us but can't and the soup then was spilled whole over the small stove. Until one of the waiter just came to us and told us to remove some of them to the plate because he said they didn't have a bigger pot. I just wish that he was friendlier and not that rude. I think if they have that size on the menu they should prepare for a bigger pots/ pans.

I thought this place was pretty good. Had the tongue and wagu skirt to cook myself. Both were tasty. Went back a few days later and had the fried chicken (plain and spicy mix) + a yakisoba noodle dish. Their Korean dishes are better than their attempts at Japanese & the staff are really pleasant and efficient. Fairly reasonable price for what was a lot of food both times I went. Pigged out a little. Twice in 2 weeks is probably the limit of how many times I'd go but not found better Korean BBQ so far in Sydney... no idea why it's only hovering around the 2.something mark, I'd have it closer to a 4. Place is clean and comfortable.

The food is a bit overpriced and sometimes waiting time is long. But the quality is always good and the environment is nice too. It's great to have a Korean hotpot with a few friends.

NaruOne doesn’t have the best Korean food around, but it does the job. Plus it was convenient for us at lunch when Sea Bay had a 20 minute wait... 😥<br/><br/>Quickly got seated but for some reason the food took a while to come out. Why I don’t know considering the place was close to empty. Other than that, the service was pretty good.<br/><br/>I ordered the seafood noodle soup and my workmate the kimchi stew. Portions were pretty good i.e. quite big, but the prices also match. My noodles were nice, nothing memorable, just enjoyable at the time which is all I ask for most of the time. They weren’t overly generous with the seafood, but it was enough to satisfy.

Big Korean restaurant with decent food. The meat is very fresh although the sauce to dip it in is a little lacking in variety. The fried chicken was well cooked and also well flavoured.

If you are a k drama or k pop fan then you'll love the decor at this restaurant! The walls are lined with hundreds of photos of Korean stars (and some western). The food was decent though it was alittle too oily for my liking and  I have tried better Korean food in my time. Overall worth a visit though if your a fan of Korean dramas and music but there are better places for food.

Sizzling stone him bimbap came out cold and tasted like raw smelly refrigerated meat, false advertising for ginseng chicken and worst of all the service is very slow and staff ignore you and let you wait to be told 5mins like ater there is a ticket system<br/>Avoid, avoid, avoid

Went here for lunch and was highly disappointed. All of the food was overpriced and bland. We tried 3 different types of fried chicken and some bbq meats such as the beef rib. The chicken was average. Not the best i've had and a little on the dry side. BBQ meat was also average and way too expensive for the serving sizes when compared to other restaurants. Chicken portions were also much smaller than other places. Also ordered japchae which was dry and came with barely any vegetables or meat. Service was slow and when we questioned them about some missing orders they became quite rude. Dishes that we didn't even order were brought to our table. Definitely would not go back.

Let me write the review before I forget everything about this place because the food in restaurant is easily forgotten.<br/>Unlike any other bbq places in Sydney, this restaurant is very clean and have a fancy design with books and pictures on the wall.<br/>I almost forgot I'm in Korean bbq restaurant.<br/>Typical Korean BBQ place, the staffs are not really speaking fluent english.<br/>Let's talk about food, I ordered Korean fried chicken and some bbq meats. The menu says spicy but actually the taste is more into sweet and no spicy taste at all.<br/>The bbq meat is a good meat unfortunately the taste is so standard. For 180 gr meat with price tag at least $30, it should offer better taste.<br/>Overall this restaurant is a standard korean bbq which easily forgotten from your list of restaurant to visit.

Came here on Xmas. Very disappointing. Should have checked the rate on Zomato before walking in. Tempted by the fried chicken, however you need to order a whole chicken which put me off, how the hell are we going to eat a whole chicken between two. Especially came in after 9:30, was told by the staff that their liquor license only allows them to sell alcohol before 9:45. How ridiculous. Ended up getting beef ribs, egg omelette and rice porridge. Beef ribs just alright, could have cooked better. Egg omelette - very dry , such a bad choice. Mention about service, it was very slow, takes them 10 mins to even for one staff member to approach us for drinks ordering , another 10 mins to serve us side dishes! <br/>It was the worst Korean food I have ever had in my life. Will never go back.

Popped in here for lunch, surprisingly it wasn't too busy. <br/>It's a tad on the expensive side and service is alright but nothing special.<br/>There is atmosphere when there are lots of full tables, but not much when it's pretty much half empty.<br/>The food was pretty good and came out in a timely manner; the fried chicken was really crunchy which was grouse.

Went yesterday, and there is a noticeable change. <br/>The portions were smaller for both the fried chicken and raw meats. <br/>The quality and variety of the side dishes had also stepped down.<br/><br/>Price remains the same as before and it is definitely not worth it anymore.<br/>Won't be coming back. The recent and poor reviews should have been a warning sign.

I had tried some bbq restaurant in sydney and i could said this place is the worst so far? The portion of the meat was extremely small and the taste was nothing special. None of the banchan taste good, especially the kimchi, normally kimchi taste a little bit sour and spicy, but this kimchi was really plain. But luckily the fried chicken taste quite okay and the service was good. But i don't think i will go back here again. If you want to come here i think you should just eat the chicken, don't eat the bbq.

Tad on the expensive side but the food was really filling! Their fried chicken is really has a good crunch to it. Their restaurant feels really cozy too and the service was good.

Worst Korean fried chicken ever. I think the KFC was microwaved or boiled. And then fried. It tastes like boiled chicken breast, it was not juicy at all. It was not nice. I do not recommend eating here. I should of looked at reviews before I came here. It looks nice the interior, but the food is terrible. I also had the katsu with cheese. It was dry inside too. What's wrong with the meat in here? It feels old or expired meat and cooked. I wouldn't come here again.

The fried chicken was really bad. It tasted just like the meat got microwaved and re-fried it again. So dry and tasteless. <br/>We ordered the pork with cheese and I reckon that was the most terrible pork dish that I have ever had. Won't return next time. So disappointed
Kellybeans
Came here to try the fried chicken and whilst it tasted good and was very crispy, it didn't leave that much of an impression. Japchae was a bit dry and was just stir fried with sauce but there were no vegetables or meat, the korean pancake was a bit too soggy for my liking. I did enjoy the condiments that came with the meal and the hotpot was not too bad but everything else left much to be desired. Mediocre experience overall.

One of the best Korean BBQ's around in the city area. Friendly service and very efficient. Tasty food that's at a typical price for the cuisine. I always follow the rule, if there's a line, than it must be good. 👍🏽

I was not impressed with the side dishes. The kimchi tasted like toilet. And when the mains came, the vegetable in the spicy pork dish made me nauseous.<br/>There were 4 couples upstairs when we arrived, and it took 15 minutes for them to serve us. (I had to literally approach one of the staff). <br/><br/>Not a happy camper!

양념치킨 먹었는데, 닭 껍질이 딱딱해서 먹을수가 없었음. <br/>보통 집에서 남겼던거 다시 데우거나 튀기면 이러는데 의심이 됨. <br/>다시 여기서는 양념치킨 안먹어야겠음.<br/>had a fried chicken, the skins were so hard to chew and bite. I could tell that the chicken was not fresh straight away. Very disappointed and am not going to order this again.

Don't know why this place has such a bad review.. The chicken here is soooo good! Extremely crispy and the sauce is great too! <br/><br/>Ive tried other dishes here before and like most of them but we always come here for the chicken. <br/><br/>I dont like my chicken smothered in sauce so i always ask for the one without sauce so that its nice and crispy and then i order the sauce on the side to dip.

We came here on Thursday at around 6.30pm. Initially we wanted to try the KFC but ended up having a dinner as the portion was too much for 2. We ordered chicken with spring onion and sauce (i forgot the name) and spicy rice cake. We enjoyed the food but we weren't sure how to incorporate the pile of spring onion. Kimchi was nice although the other purple complimentary food was weird?! We were given the bill although hubby was still enjoying his fried chicken. Not sure if we'll come back when we visit Sydney.

Lured by the promise of KFC good ol’ Korean Fried Chicken, we had dinner here based on another online review. Boneless KFC with spring onion and a wasabi soy dipping sauce $35. The verdict? Whilst the batter is BEAUTIFUL, golden and so so crunchy, I believe some flavour comes from meat being cooked on the bone. As for whether that holds true only for stews/casseroles and doesn’t apply to fried food – I’m not entirely certain. As we went with the boneless option, it just didn’t taste as chicken-y as say the criskin chicken from Tan Viet (as that’s practically deep fried too)
