It’s taken a while to trust Uber Eats again after a failed delivery from Darlinghurst not too long ago, but hey, these things happen and there’s no point in complaining when the whole industry is having a hard time. Still, I was a little worried about how the burgers from Redfern that everyone talks about would fare on a bike…

Huxtaburger recently celebrated their first birthday and also launched a new menu. They have a range of beef burgers, chicken burgers and five vege & plant based burgers! We also enjoyed their sides - especially the crunchy onion rings and gravy chips (but not as you know it). The gravy consistency was thinner than usual and we later found out that it was a vegetarian gravy.

Tasty burgers that are more filling than they appear. For a burger called cheesus I expected it to be cheesier, but was still tasty nonetheless

3.5/5 Huxtaburger recently celebrated it's first birthday. I head there for some burgs with Mr Weekend Food Escapes and some of my foodie friends. The staff tell me that they have revamped their menu and made alternations following feedback from their customers. Huxtaburger is a slender venue however there's also seating at the back. I notice there are a number of plant based burger options so that's good if you do not eat meat. But first, I enjoy a glass of pinot grio wine ($11) while Mr Weekend Food Escapes goes for a summer ale ($9)

Very friendly service, burgers are good value and delicious!
Really living up to the expectation and just as I remembered it when I tried it 3 years ago in Melbourne.

Good service, good burger, good fries and gluten free buns. We both ordered the Denise and it’s full of flavour. Added dill salt to the fries. Downsides: patties too small and they charged us $2 for mayo. Otherwise great 👍🏼🍔🍟🥰

Another big dog of the Melbourne’s burger scene has arrived in Sydney to give Sydneysiders a taste of what we are missing out south of the border. Having 8 locations in and around Melbourne, Huxtaburger has opened up in the inner city suburb of Redfern with ques of over 2000+ people lining up on grand opening day! I had to get in for myself to see what the hype was all about
Loving the vibe being thrown around here dishing up a huge menu with options to suit all tastes and appetites

Went on a weekday evening. There were a few patrons and the interior of the joint was absolutely beautiful with retro feels.

I ordered Dillon - beef burger with tomato sauce, lettuce, egg, smoked paprika mayo, cheese, mustard tomato and pickles ($12.90), it was probably one of the most delicious burger Ive had for a very long time. It didnt have the flame grilled taste but the sauce combo was outstanding. I really couldnt fault the burger. So i read previous reviews and I honestly didnt feel there was anything wrong with the beef pattie. It was far better than maccas' beef pattie (and i had a big mac recently and wanted to bin it right away).

My partner ordered their vegan burger. Vegan denise - spicy bean and quinoa pattie, jalapenos, siracha mayo, cheese, mustard, tomato, tomato sauce, lettuce and pickles ($12.9). He said it was absolutely delicious and found the pattie to be suitable for a vegetarian burger.

For sides we ordered onion rings and hashbites ($3.5 for a small, 4.5 for medium and 5.5 for a large), the onion rings were a stock standard but the hash bites with dill seasoning was a crowd pleaser with lots of flavour.

We ordered 2 shakes- gingerbread (christmas special edition) and salted caramel. ($6.5 small, $7.50 medium, $8.50 large). They were both delicious in terms of flavour, gingerbread and little bits of (i assume) gingerbread blended into the shake. We really enjoyed both, the shakes were... i dont know how to describe it... frothy? and light unlike the liquidy milkshakes or thickshakes. I personally prefer thickshakes but this was adequate too.

We were extra happy with the food and would be more than happy to go back and spend our money. We'd rate huxatburger redfern a solid 4.5/4 for food.

*kindly invited

Rising to fame initially in Melbourne, Huxtaburger has now crossed the state line and moved into Redfern in Sydney and Perth’s Hibernian Place.  Most ingredients are cooked from fresh with chips the only frozen ingredient. Personally I don’t mind some sweetness in aburger and have no issue with pineapple or beetroot with the beef patty. Fried egg is a must for me and therefore BOB ($15) sounds just like my kind ofthe burger even though some of you may be raising your eyebrows now.

Originated from Melbourne, Huxtaburger has finally landed in Sydney. They do chicken, beef and veggie burgers, fries, mini hash browns (like tots), onion rings, chicken pieces and dessert.

Had the beef and chicken burger. I prefer the chicken. It's now catapulted to one of the best chicken burgers I've had in my life. Had the one with siracha mayo and jalapeno, it's so good. I'm really picky with my protein and this chicken is really tender with a crispy outer. To top it off Hux uses a milk bun. I wanted to go back the next day however my SO didn't want burgers. Caught myself thinking about this chicken burger the next day.

Their shakes are good too. Had the vanilla and it's thick.

If you love burgers, definitely try out my fav chicken burger!

Friendly service, burger meals above average (slightly over powered with sauce ) Lots of space to dine in, the chips were good and fast turn around time. Overall I'd say 0.5 above McDonald's or Hungry Jacks. Space was cleaned and tidy.

Pretty good little burger joint. Try the Cheesus burger if you like a double patty cheeseburger ! Also try the loaded fries with bacon and cheese sauce. The menu is priced alright. Some good options. Definitely try if you are in the Redfern area.

I have a mixed feeling about this place… The price and service were good. The takeaway box and paper bag were pretty cool. But taste was just okay. The cheese in the burgers didn’t even melt meaning the patty wasn’t hot enough. Chicken wings were too salty. Water please.

Overall very good burgers and fries. The only issue I had was the wait time; when I ordered online it said it be ready by 12:54pm but was still waiting for another 12 mins before it was done. Their website was easy to order and allows you to customise, which is awesome. Burgers were excellent and well portioned. The store has a great vibe to it.

The burgers were alright though just very average. Would be much better if the burger patties were juicier.
