The menu has some really lip-smacking dishes to offer. One of the their best dishes is “Peking duck pancake rolls”. Apart from its great asian menu, the best part about Imperial is its location. The fascinating outdoor sitting arrangement will give you an unforgettable dining experience. I will definitely visit this place again to please my craving for my chinese food.
This is such a cool place to go to, the look and feel is very authentic and it is situated down on the water at the rocks.
The diced Wagyu beef with mushroom and wasabi sauce was amazing, my favourite. The service was quick all night too.
This could be a great place to come watch the NYE fireworks and have quality Chinese food
The prices are pretty reasonable. The crew was very cute with a very nice personality.Overall it was a very enjoyable & pleasant meal. If I am in the area I would definitely go back again, but next time I will try something else besides the spring rolls.
Imperial Peking is good. My favorite were assorted seafood and combination crab meat soup. It's so yummy! My husband likes Peking duck rolls and wonton soup. But oh well, we love chinesse food that's why we love it here. By the way we never missed a month without visiting here.
came here for lunch with the team and enjoyed the great view during the sunny day.
food and service was ok, not as bad as what some of the reviews have put it out to be. had a peking duck two ways which was nice, Will come back again when the weather warms up.
...the restaurant boasts some of the most spectacular views of the Sydney Harbour, the Bridge and the world-renowned Opera House. The centre has Private and Semi-Private Rooms commanding these views to accommodate 20 to 140 for a sit-down dinner and up to 400 for a stand-up cocktail party. I really liked how they infused Chineseness into the place:
Beautiful dinner. I just have a dinner for our anniversary with my wife in imperial peking at the rock..i was beautiful dinner with a friendly staffs n good food..looking forward to go there next time..
Surprised. Late night dinner and stumbled across this with my date. Sceptical due to the reviews, but gave it a crack.
Tried the vingear fried mussels, tasty! Food came out promptly, not sure what the comments were all about. Oversll service was ok, some staff need english lessons though. Love the view and the weather was a bonus.
Corporate Event. Had a corporate event there recently, beautiful view of the harbour, that is a draw card.
Ordered some authentic dishes which was on par with top end Chinese restaurants in Chinatown..with a view.
Staff was ok, but some had trouble conversing in english.. better point at pictures to avoid confusion which they also have a picture menu. Clients and staff were happy.. so that gets my vote.
Great Location to have special events!. Hosted an event at Imperial Peking recently:
- Awesome views
- Fantastic service (Going that extra mile to keep guests happy)
- Excellent food (esp fresh seafood)
Definitely coming back in the future!
We love Imperial Peking !. The service super friendly and attentive, a great buzz to the always packed atmosphere, food never disappointing. Be prepared to pay but definitely worth it!
Had the 6 course Scoopon Pekinese duck banquet tonight. Found the staff there surprisingly decent and polite. They weren't just nice to us. Heard this waitress patiently explaining to another table how to make pekinese duck pancakes. After reading all the terrible reviews here, was prepared to walk into restaurant from hell. I even took my own water! The food was not amazing I have to admit. However, it was acceptable. The seaweed dish was definitely interesting (in a good way). I can imagine not everyone would like that dish. But I give them the thumbs up for having the courage to give people something new to try. Okay price under Scoopon deal. The restaurant is located right next to the water with excellent view. I also found there was a nice atmosphere there. Me and my boyfriend could talk normally with no trouble hearing each other, which is a nice change from some of the noisy chinese restaurants.
Amaaazing food! Always hated Chinese food until forced into this restaurant. Was beautiful! Waitstaff however were extremely rude and unpleasant. If willing to put up with them, then amazing!
Excellent !. My husband and I purchased Groupon’s 10 course degustation coupons. Every one of our three visits were superb and memorable. When making the booking for that evening, and being concerned it was such short notice, the staff put me at ease right away by saying “Don’t worry about a thing – we’ll take care of you. We look forward to seeing you!” – what customer service! The food - divine, tasty, plentiful and wonderfully presented. My favourite dishes were the tempura sale and pepper king prawn with fried finely chopped chinese broccoli and the salt and pepper calamari with lime – simply exquisite. My husband’s favourites were the peking duck pancake and red curry. We were seated outside each time and enjoyed the beautiful harbour view ... the staff were quick to offer to take photo of us with opera house as backdrop. Despite the cool weather we were warmed with the heaters provided. The service – great ! Staff were attentive and quick to bring out the freshly cooked dishes so we weren’t waiting long before our first course was served. The manager, Roger, made us feel special by chatting to us and ensuring we were happy with the meals .... He remembered us the next visit and made sure we got extra chinese broccoli (we told him how much we enjoyed it). I was horrified when I accidentally knocked my glass of wine off the table – the staff were quick to pick up the broken glass and clean the mess and, most especially, assure me everything was alright so I wasn’t left feeling bad or awkward. We highly recommend this restaurant and suggest to seek out Roger who is most interesting to chat with.
