Review Rumfire - Sydney

Princess Greedyguts
A spacious cafe inside the Entertainment Quarter, Rumfire has both indoor and outdoor seating ans plenty of space which is great for groups and those with kids. Menu displays classic cafe options which all looked great. On this occasion, I tried scrambled eggs, one of the ready made sandwiches and coffees and all were tasty and well made. Service is efficient and friendly. Apparently this cafe changed owners fairly recently and has had much better reviews then previously.

Look, it's Moore Park so I expect to get a bit price-gouged, but felt like I walked out with more than the expected scratches (missing limbs maybe?) ... service was friendly if hassled (it was event time), and our risotto came out cold. It's by no means terrible, but I just don't see the appeal ... might be better on a quieter night ...

We had a wonderful lunch, sitting in the open,, watching the people walk by. My grilled salmon was cooked to perfection, as were the other meals we ordered.

Pleasant atmosphere and a decent selection of food that is actually really quite good. The prices are reasonable and the serving sizes are good too.
Boris
Good taste. But food takes awhile to come out from the kitchen. I guessed at the time, there were only three people working in the kitchen for a full house.

Terrible food and service- never again! My pizza was undercooked, base soggy, my hubby had a parmigiana and chips( which were suppose to be rosemary chips but weren't ) - Parmigiana was drowned in tomato sauce and loaded with cheese- you could hardly taste the chicken! No staff even asked how the meal was. When we mentioned this to the staff they didn't even say sorry so feel like the feedback went with one ear and out with other. I would never ever go there again- even for free!

The restaurant was clean, airy and ambient. The waitress was beautiful and helpful. I was not impressed however with the ordering experience from the Chef - I ordered the Amgus Beef burger $10 special and asked instead of the potato chips could I get the Polenta chips and I didn't mind paying a bit extra for the upgrade, the Polenta chips were why we went there as a group. I was then told It was impossible to do this and I had to accept the special. Begrudgingly I accepted this, I would have walked out if I was on my own or with a smaller group. The burger was simple and satisfactory. I also ordered a caramel milkshake - this was delivered warm! I asked for ice to cool it down but was not impressed with the taste. It was not busy at the time, no-one came to check we were ok or if we wanted to order anything more and the Kitchen staff were standing around. It just seemed the care factor was zero for customer care. Star rating purely for the restaurant ambience and burger taste.

The best lamb shank I ever had!!!!!!! I can't imagine they can handle in that busy period with thousand people around and all of them in the rush to watch the game, Even though we have to replace our order to the counter, that's not a big deal for me, I still got excellent service from them either so whats the matter? The Lady in the counter was very nice and friendly and let us know, minimum half an hour waiting, but I didn't expect they send the food out, with the normal time. Will come again definitely. Really Recommended...

i actually cant fault it. excellent service and the food was amazing.<br/>i had the roast chicken fillet and partner had king prawn meal. both sooo good.

Why the 2.1 score? The food and service was good. Came with a groupon voucher. Ordered eggs benedict with smoked salmon $18.50 and pineapple juice. Everything was perfect for the dish. Oozy egg, lovely hollaindaise sauce and that crispy sourdough bread. I think the juice was store bought. The only problem is the location. I do recommend though.

Came here for the $10 steak, it exceeded expectations! Asked for medium, it came medium. It's 200g and the one I had might have been more than that. <br/><br/>Admittedly it's not the best steak in the world, but for $10 it is incredible value. Give me $10 and I don't think I could even buy the raw ingredients. <br/><br/>The place is a bit drab and the service was average, there's an alfresco dining area so it can be nice if you sit outside 😊
Nic R
Bad service, food was extremely average, it took 45 minutes for a margarita pizza, we got up four times to ask staff where our order was, for staff to give us attitude. Will never be back.

Although the waitstaff were nice the service was a little slow, at the time they looked quite understaffed. Nevertheless, the atmosphere was pleasant and quite spacious. The food overall was good and the dishes were affordable.

Like many other reviews you see for this place. You stumble across Rum and fire because you’re watching a comedy show or a footy match. Food is below average, we got a bbq chicken pizza ($24). For the price it was very disappointing. I’m pretty sure pizza dough are not handmade, it was covered with lots of red onions, mushroom, some chicken and very generous amount of BBQ sauce. The BBQ sauce made it over sweet and inedible.<br/><br/>On the night I went, there were 2 people in the kitchen, waiter and bar staff. Management have done a terrible job with staffing, restaurant was under staffed. We were staring at the food waiting on the counter for 5-10 minutes as the waiter was busy with people paying for the bill and bar staff was at the bar.<br/><br/>You’re better off going to Oporto’s for a quicker and better meal.<br/><br/>Pros : NA <br/>Cons : understaffed, overpriced.  <br/>Must Try : Don’t go.

Early dinner after an early show at Comedy Store only because we couldn't find anything else<br/>service is average, food is poor quality. The Place was pretty much empty, except for a few people from the show.  I had a burger. It overflowed with chips,  the burger itself was below average. <br/>Very disappointed.

Rum Fire is a large and aesthetic cafe that serves a variety of cafe food, such as sandwiches, salads etc. We ordered their Acai Bowl ($12) and it was quite average from our experience here. The toppings to smoothie ratio was lacking and the smoothie itself was not especially delicious.

I don't understand all the hate for this place on here. I went there tonight before the Sydney FC match and found the staff and food to be fine. Had the Angus and Camembert burger which was pretty damn delicious. Good selection of international tap beers like Sapporo and Carlsberg as well.
Global Foodie & Filmy
It is actually not a bad place the owners are friendly and the chef will go out of his way to help you. The decor had gone down over the years and could be brightened up.
Eatwithmyfoodsafari
It was a choice between the cafe next door or Rum Fire for a take away coffee and we chose Rum Fire because they served Campos. However, we may as well not have bothered because it was bitter and very ordinary - a complete waste of $8. <br/><br/>Nonetheless, the service was fast enough.
Grapsta
I've had good coffee in the past but the one today was gross...tasted very bitter like the grind is all wrong or old beans or unclean machine. Really bad coffee today.

This restaurant is poorly run and managed. As soon as we arrived, finding a table to seat 7 people was no problem. However, we were required to grab our own menus from a basket and line up in a long queue to order our food. In a busy restaurant and for the price you pay, you expect at the minimum, table service.<br/><br/>As we arrived approximately an hour and a half before the Anzac Day football match, we expected that the restaurant would cater for attendees on a tight schedule. Unfortunately this was not the case as we waited well over an hour for seven main meals to arrive. You could see that there were many disgruntled customers as, what looked like a manager (an older ethnic lady who was not wearing uniform) starting giving out meals as opposed to the waitors/waitresses.<br/><br/>I understand that given it was a public holiday a business could be understaffed, however you would expect given it's so close to Moore Park that Rum Fire would be catering and include additional staff for at least a portion of the 35,000 people who attended the match!<br/><br/>What made matters worse was when we made a complaint, we were brushed off by the manager and as soon as we sat back down, we could see her using her hands to shift hot chips from plates to takeaway trays so people wouldn't miss out on the game.<br/><br/>Overall, this place is unhygeinic, pathetic and to expect to wait an hour whilst pre match activities were on is beyond unreasonable. Will not be returning to this restaurant again.

We stopped in after a Sydney FC game and it wasn't very busy. I was impressed that the young lady that took all 8 of our orders remembered them without writing them down. My Hawaiian pizza was not very special, reminiscent of a frozen pizza thrown in the oven. The serving sizes were a bit inconsistent from each other. The ambience was quite nice.

Burgers were yummy and what you expect in a burger but staff need some manners and some smiles. Good service and being happy doesn't cost anything but does get customers to come back. Not sure if I would rush back because of the service considering how many options are available in the area
Sydneyguyrojoe
Came for dinner and the 3 of us ordered. No table service by the way we had to goto the counter for that. My chicken Parma was white chicken meat with tomato salsa,I was expecting the chicken to be crumbled! The salad that came with it had barely any taste. My partners lamb souvlaki was nothing special though our friends burger, she liked it! <br/>I had nil issues with service though when we asked for water only one cup came out instead of 3. Food came out at a reasonable rate. Price wise I don't feel it's good value though I know everything is expensive at the Entertainment Quarter. Might be back for there dessert section but doubtful if we want a main meal

Worst dinning experience!!! Went for lunch ordered the bruschetta to share offered sharing plates but never came (bad service). Very slow service, when my main finally came I ordered the grilled octopus and side salad the salad took over 3/4 of the plate and the octopus was not cleaned properly before cooked and was horrible. Never going back. Wouldn't feed me dog here

Lunch. Outdoor tables were sticky. Ordered a chicken schnitzel and chips for 19.90 from the special menu. Im unsure if the nation is going through a potato shortage because there werent many chips. The chicken schnitzel was about the size of a 5 dollar bill so I was pretty annoyed when I was still very hungry once id finished@. 1 positive though. The outdoor area is quite open which made it quite fast and easy to leave.

Surprising good coffee with a really friendly barista. Shame they rest of the staff were either miserable or just rude. Great location in the EQ with 2 hour free parking during the day.

Over the Street Food Festival weekend, our group of 6 decided to give Rum Fire a go to beat the really long festival queues. We put our orders in at approximately 8.20pm and given that it was a bit busy we expected some slight delays. We did not expected to finally be served our entrées (two cold garlic breads) an hour after we had placed our order and some of our mains at approximately 9.40pm.3 out of the 6 ordered the same burger with all the patties, buns and chips cold and the cheese not even melted. 1 of our group order the pesto gnocchi, however will never know how that tasted as by 10.20pm everyone else had eaten and the thought of eating at that hour was a pretty big turn off!  The waitress was thoroughly put out and quiet rude when asked for the money back on the meal that declined to make an appearance. Overall the food was pitiful and definitely not worth the wait, service was non-existent and the only thing that made the night bearable was the good company I was keeping!

Very VERY disappointed. Ordered the Bangers and Mash for a bit of fun, but the sausages were most definitely Coles bought (and horrible!) and the gravy made from gravox. Could have made this dish myself for a quarter of the price and twice the quality. None of my friend's dishes were any better, very very low quality with shocking presentation. VERY understaffed, and the staff that were on the floor were unhelpful and paid no attention to us, leaving our table dirty and covered in dishes an hour after we had sat down, despite us asking multiple times. Never going to visit again, and do not recommend to anyone. If you really want to go here, just go to Coles - you'll save a fortune without losing any quality.
David F
I have never had worse service, please never attend this place.<br/>We lined up for service to be told you cannot order food here, the group in front just did.<br/>Reply "we stopped now"<br/>Spend your money elsewhere it is pathetic

Rude owner and assault. I went there to get my mother a coffee with my twin toddlers. My mother went off to the bathroom with them whilst I ordered her coffee. When she returned I went to ask the man cleaning the floor if I could use the bathroom. I was aggressively told that I can't use their toilet, there's a toilet outside, can't I read the sign, and he proceeded to grab my arm to move me away from the floor. When I screamed at him to not dare touch me, I asked if he were the owner to which he relied he was, and adviced him that this is no way to treat customers to which he replied he didn't care and chucked his arms in the air. I will never enter there again and it shouldn't be able to operate as a business. It isn't the first bad experience I have had there but one I needed to report.
Rob
I would describe this place as 'mutton dressed up as lamb' has the trendy look but quality is crap, worst omelete I've ever had, coffee tastes awful
Annie
This is one of the most incompetent restaurants I have ever been in. The food is ordinary, there are insufficient staff and if you have 3 hours to kill to wait for a pizza go for it. Given the poor reviews by others the owners clearly don't care. You should keep your money in your pocket and go somewhere else.
Ryan Hiscox
I paid $20 bucks for their signature burger, but really I should have just gone to Coles, got their home brand bun & mince paddy and some plastic cheese for $3. How they can charge what they do is ridiculous. But the food isn't even the worst part. Staff are clueless & management incompetent. How they were so understaffed with the full knowledge a major concert was around the corner is beyond me. Took an hour to get our pathetic excuse for a burger, while the Greek salad had no feta? Your customers deserve better. Just don't go here - 0 stars, never again.

Children have their own menu - the Kid's Corner - and it is priced at $9.50. It contains your usual suspects - nuggets/calamari/fish with chips or penne napolitana. On weekdays at lunch time this menu is reduced in price to $6! The boys didn't eat from this menu, instead they shared the pizzas that we ordered. Pizzas come in two sizes - small ones are $15.50 and large ones are $22.50. Two large pizzas fed us easily. We had the Hawaiian and the Prosciutto pizzas and they are perfectly stone baked with thin and crispy bases. Being a bit of an olive fiend I would have loved for them to have thrown a few more on the prosciutto pizza, but that would be my only complaint.

Went to Rum Fire at the Entertainment Quarter before a movie. I ordered the scotch fillet steak cooked to medium rare; the friend ordered a pizza. The place was very quiet on the Saturday night but the dishes still took quite a while to arrive. My steak was overcooked and chewy; the friend’s pizza was very small (but he has a very small appetite). It wasn't the best dinner I've ever had.

Although you can't see it, but under that creamy bed of mash potato hides the succulent, melt in your mouth pork belly!

What attracted me first to Rumfire is the extent of its baguettes.  Okay, instead of turkish, naan wraps or bread rolls, fresh ingredients, reliable combinations and yummy dressing all are used to provide a different kind of bite. The menu can be seen as eclectic - Mediterranean, modern Australian, fusion trendy and yet all served with a home feel.   You can just have coffee, or choose a spread - it is all dependent on whom you are with, where you are going next and where you have just come from. It is casual, it is relaxing in the subdued surroundings and yet we can watch passer-bys and the goings-on on the curved pedestrian lane outside.   The place loads itself up as breakfast, brunch, teatime and dinner venues.  It can be modern, it can be retro, it can be your suburban cafe.  The  reality however is  that no one actually resides in this hub.  Visitors have dropped by in Moore Park for a reason - and dining can be secondary, or why not the main purpose?  Whatever the circumstance,

Only good thing was that we got our money back. It was a bad sign when we were told we'd have to line up to place a food order and line up in a different queue to order a drink (a bit strange, but whatever). <br/><br/>Both queues were about 6 people deep (you'd think this would indicate popularity, but no). Both queues blocked the entrance (what idiot operates a restaurant like this?) <br/><br/>We should have gone elsewhere. <br/><br/>We had a good 85 minutes before we needed to be inside Cirque Du Soleil. We should have enough time, right? <br/><br/>After placing our order & paying (now having exactly 71 minutes according to our receipt) we waited patiently. Then we began to wait impatiently. We finally asked after our food with 20 minutes remaining (of course it was "almost ready"). After a few minutes and we asked for our money back as we wouldn't have time to eat our food. A minute later the waitress brought over 1 of our 2 meals (the other clearly still wasn't ready). We again asked for our money back and got it. <br/><br/>So I can say one good thing about the place: they gave us our money back.

First experience great , second experience horrible. I'd like to start of by saying my first experience at rumfire when it was empty was fantastic , but my last experience was horrible . <br/> My boyfriend and I recommended to my parents that we go to rumfire after cirque du soleil as we had been there before and loved it and my boyfriend couldn't wait to have the Caesar salad again .<br/> We went in there to find that the table I reserved no one had any idea about which was ridiculous as I booked ages in advance . Then we found that you were only serving the event menu even though it wasn't considered an event day for the entertainment quarter , therefore my boyfriend couldn't get the salad and a few things on the menu were already sold out . We thought fair enough cirque du soleil is on and we placed our orders.<br/> It was freakin $18.5 for one burger and I got the wings which were reasonably priced.<br/> We sat down and waited a while for our food, my parents ordered separately so they were waiting longer .<br/> My wings were nice but missing the blue cheese sauce , so my dad asked the waiter where is the sauce and that we were waiting for their meals , only to be informed that when my mum ordered wings they were sold out and someone should of told her and oh btw the blue cheese sauce should of been taken of the menu . If<br/>you are going to consider it an event day why not be more organised with bookings and order lots in of what's on the event menu and maybe provide some chips or salad with the<br/>Burger which was mediocre .<br/> My first experience at rumfire was amazing and I'm sad to say I was embarrassed for recommending it to my parents.<br/> I even sent the restaurant an email about my experience and it's been nearly a week<br/>and I still haven't gotten a response .<br/> I work in customer service and know how important it is and based on your reviews on here you obviously don't .

I should have listened to you !!!. Maybe I should have noted that this restaurant was relatively empty compared to other joints at The Entertainment Quarter. Maybe I should have ran out the door when the young girl who seated us could barely speak english. But no.... we stayed. We were handed menus at our tables, but had to go to another counter to order. There we were told that the main items featured on the menu were not available !!! Ok, order something else. But do you think that we could order out drinks at the same time ?? No !! We then had to wait at another counter for further service. And what's this with no Coke-a-cola being served ??? Anyway... back to the table to wait for an extended period for our meals. The meals came out intermittantly with not one of the group eating at the same time. I believe the sauce on the steak was tasty, but thats all i can say was good about it. i ordered a prosciutto pizza which when served turned out to be some thinly shaved ham on a dry cheese base (and i know the difference between proscuitto and ham). There is no way I would return to this restaurant, Next time I think i'll get take-out from Subway and sit on the grass.

Couldn't organise a meal a Macca's (insert your favorite fast food here). Ordered one steak and one salmon (Not very original I know), the salmon arrives at the same temperature as the salad and no steak to be seen. <br/>Sent the Salmon back and my steak arrives, I thought that rare steaks were a pink, even red colour in the middle. Maybe the chef here is redefining the cooking of steak. <br/><br/>Definitely a unique experience going out with the wife and eating separately at the same table

Untrained staff and average food.. We stopped in fri 24th oct for a drink and possibly dessert. We were recommended the Creme brûlée pizza by the "host" but we had a glass of wine while we looked at the menu. After 10 mins we were ready to order but was palmed off by 3 different waiters who assured us the next waiter would take out order. We were then told by a 4th person that they don't do table service and we'd have to order at the counter which was odd as other peoples orders were taken close to us. We finally ordered and the pizza was awful. I will never go here again.

Over Charged and Under Serviced. I have never in my life come across a more incompetent establishment, on the night of a large concert at the Horden pavilion (Sat 25th Nov), we found a table in RumFire at 6pm and ordered our food, after 45 minutes we enquired as to the whereabouts of our meals....we were told sorry we didn’t know it was going to be busy tonight, if there had been a sudden 400,000 flash-mob turn up I could understand it, but these concerts and events are booked months in advance. Our food eventually found its way to our table in dribs and drabs at around 7:15pm, and to say the quality was poor would be a vast understatement, bits were missing from the burger’s and the quality was extremely poor.<br/>The upshot was me missed the start of our concert, and were all left very hungry, and when we did complained the third or fourth time the guy behind the bar said “I won’t bother escalating it to management as they won’t deal with it, but can I offer you a free drink” this was at 7:45pm.<br/>I would not eat in this joint if it was the last restaurant on this Earth, and I use the term restaurant loosely
Mstar45
Don't go here if you are in a rush. Despite this restaurant being located within the entertainment quarter, the management/staff seem to have no insight into when events are being held and thus when business may be busy. Concert was on midweek, and chose this place because menu and decor looked appealing. Not that busy when we arrived however it took over 20 minutes to place an order, and then at least another hour for food to arrive - not that complicated, just a burger. In order to get to the concert on time didn't get to finish the meal (although it wasn't great anyway), and ended up missing part of the show. Very disappointing service, and would not recommend the food.<br/>Avoid.

Went to this place on Saturday night and had an amazing time, service was excellent, nice atmosphere and the food was overall good.<br/>I don't understand why this place has such bad reviews, but I'll be back next time I'm in fox studios
Elleni
Not worth it at all! When we arrived at the entrance of the restaurant, we tried to ask a waiter whether to sit down and order or order at the counter, he proceeded to walk past, completely ignoring us. We ordered sourdough garlic bread, chicken Caesar salad and Penne Pollo. The garlic bread was cold and extremely oily. The salad was drenched in dressing and the croutons were soggy. The pasta was like it was like it was out of a packet. In the half hour that we were seated, there were 2 separate arguments amongst the staff, in front of everyone. This place way too overpriced for the food and service. Never going back!

Terrible!!!. Saturday night and we're waiting for food. Burgers and a pizza... 1.5 hours. no joke! If you are in a hurry don't come to this place. It is not like it is complex cuisine.
Prgratz
Yum scrum. OMG. Yum salads. Had a work dinner with friends on Saturday night. I'm glad I suggested it, I've been before but you never know if the food is going to be great second time round. Service was a bit slow. Overall not bad.
Info
Great burgers. Great food, service was as per everywhere else.<br/><br/>Would love to try the rest of the menu. Will be back. <br/><br/>Loved the bar and music. Good chillout place.

Slowest coffee ever. 15min takeaway coffee
Jeffng
Just awful. My 12 year old can cook better - fried fish burnt; chicken kebabs that looked like they were boiled then a jar of sauce tipped over; rice cooked to mush with no seasoning. When I gave the feedback - the comment was - "I don't quite know what is wrong with them in the kitchen tonight" - a refund or an apology would have been better.
Katie
What is this place?! The prices are ridiculously high ($8.95 for a small foccacia with 3 fillings), the service was terrible-we went for lunch & ordered a BLT off the Sandwiches menu & were told "we're not doing breakfast order off the lunch menu", the woman taking our order seemed confused by our ordering of a vegetarian foccacia asking if we wanted that after we had ordered it, we then waited 15 minutes for it to be toasted while another woman who ordered a toasted foccacia after us tucked into hers. When we went up to see what was taking so long (as we could see it sitting on the counter)the woman was too preoccupied texting on her phone. We won't be going to this rip off of a place again.

Give them a swerve. We visited Rumfire on Boxing Day before the football. The restaurant was quieter then the surrounding restaurants so we thought we would get our meals quicker so we could get to the game.<br/>After choosing our meals I went to order to be told they were only doing pizza or burgers, even though plates of fish and chips were being carried out. I went back to the table, got a new order and went back. Then I was told meals would be 30 to 40 minutes 'because of the football', as if this was a unique event.<br/>45 minutes later and no food I told them they had 5 minutes to bring out the meals or I would be requesting a refund. Two pizzas of the same size appeared, even though we ordered a small and large. The waitress was unable to explain if they were small or large. 2 minutes later more meals were bought out to our table, and then again as we were leaving.
Matt
Brilliant. Had dinner here last Saturday night after going to the comedy store. Food was fantastic, we ordered a garlic bread, pizza and a burger. Service was fast and all the staff were friendly and efficient. Would definitely go back.

Had a Saturday night dinner here, reasonably quiet although was 9.30pm. Food was resonably priced for what we got and was really very tasty and service was prompt. Would visit again for sure.

A group of us visited this establishment on a Sunday at 12:30. We waited upwards of an hour for cheeseburgers some of which were served with half a bun and no chips. No explanation was given for this. This "restaurant" is a sorry excuse for a business. Go to the subway 100 metres away instead. I'm sure it is a much more pleasant experience than dining at this hole.
KJ
Had the crispy skinned barramundi, it was horrible, overcooked, rubbery and the chimmichuri sauce tasted only of cumin, a spoonful of cold chopped capsicum sitting on top... Yuck. Service was untrained, meal overpriced. It's a shame because we live close and Fox needs some decent restaurants. We won't be back.
Ally
Liked it. Good food, good service.. My husband and I were hesitant to go to Rumfire because of the poor reviews; however, it is a great restaurant at Fox Studios and I would definitely go again! We had 3 courses, and the food was very yummy and the servings were huge. we had the panko jalapenos and homemade tortilla chips for entres, for mains i had the steak and my husband had the ribs, and we had the rumfire cappuccino and the apple tart for desert (they were huge, we probably should have shared 1!). <br/>The staff were friendly and attentive, and we received our food in a timely fashion. <br/>I felt compelled to write this review because honestly, I have no idea where all the negative reviews come from because it was a good bistro / cocktail bar. We regularly dine in and around surry hills and Rumfire is as good or better as any other restaurant of the same category.

GREAT place to dine. I recently dined here (for the first time) with some of my family. I thought the service and the food was exceptional.<br/>When I made the booking (days earlier) I asked about the full duck and how it was to be cooked/served etc. I was told that they no longer had it on the menu, but despite this they were still happy to order one in for me and fulfil my request. I was impressed!<br/>So, we ordered a bunch of entrees to share and then we had the duck as main. Every dish that we ordered was perfect and delicious. The dishes were substantial and we struggled to finish our wonderful meal. We didn’t order dessert. <br/>The staff members were amazing (it wasn’t too busy on this night). From the wait staff, to the bar staff to the chef ... they all receive 10:10 from me. Not to mention the bloke who took my reservation booking, as he gets an 11:10.<br/>The chef also came to check that we were enjoying his deliciously cooked duck ... wow, it was great!<br/>We enjoyed a nice bottle of white from Lisa McGuigan Winery (at a fair price) plus some delicious single glasses of reds. The wine list is rather small, but has some good quality at reasonable prices.<br/>So, my experience here was fantastic. My family was very impressed and I could/would easily return.<br/>One issue: The bathrooms are unisex and on a busy night I could see the ladies would hog them. How about installing a stand-up job for the blokes?!
David Low
Don't waste your time or money. Wish I had read the poor reviews first.<br/>Zero service - asked for simple things, even another round of drinks and nothing. Asked another waiter again... nothing.<br/>Then the wait for food was ridiculous, well over 1 hour and it wasn't that full inside. The rugby was on next door, but those fans were all at the bar. But even still, it can't be that hard to dish up basic burgers and fish & chips in under 30 mins!!!<br/>Then raw meat patty, I don't mind rare, but not cold and rare... I wish I had made more of a scene and not paid!<br/>I predict it will be out of business before the year is out.

Service was okay. We had lunch using the scoopon voucher. Ordered the salt and pepper calamari and sausage roll for starter. They were okay, nothing outstanding. For mains we had the crispy pork belly. The crackling was crispy because it was burnt to charred black! It was crispy all right, but only if you like it bitter, or taste of charcoal. We also had the prawn and chicken salad. The dressing was ordinary, the only thing we like was the crispy wanton skin in the salad. Don't think we would return to the restaurant even with another voucher deal, let alone pay the full price. Portion size was decent, but taste and quality is a let down.

I absolutely love this place! The mini burgers are a highlight and a perfect size as well! The vibe is great and the bar area has some great drinks went here on a date and we loved it the place has so many different sections its spacious but has an intimate vibe. I would definitely recommend this place I have been in many times for the burgers!

Good food and interior design - this is what matters and why I've 'liked' this place. <br/><br/>As previous reviews noted - and is permissible while a new place gets its legs - the service is abysmal. <br/>No greeting, waiters (especially one in a floral shirt) avoid eye contact when trying to order, someone else we asked twice about ordering and went away without anything happening. Finally got to order when we got up and went to the cash register to ask for someone. From then in smooth sailing and smiles. <br/><br/>Crispy skin salmon with perfectly balanced sauces and nice waxy baby potatoes, a delicate fillet of charred barramundi with chips and salad and the kitchen whipped up a tantalizing vegetarian linguini at our request (sadly there is nothing vegetarian on the menu except for soup).

Good luck. I don't even have the energy to talk you through everything that is going on, or should i say what is not going on, with this place. Pretty much all basic fundamentals are missing. I hate to say this, but this place will be lucky to survive a couple of months. I hope I am wrong, as the food has potential but the service and overall management is up the creek...

Poor service and food!. Where to begin?<br/><br/>Lets start with the service or should I say lack there of. Our server was friendly however we had to ask for every little thing even for water and cutlery.<br/><br/>When the food finally arrived I was kicking myself as all the other reviews were in fact telling the truth.<br/><br/>The crispy skin pork belly was NOT crispy at all, it was so over cooked which made it dry and the gnocchi underneath had the taste and texture of play dough. <br/><br/>The burger that got lost on the way to the table was ok with the exception of the stale bun.<br/><br/>The lamb was also overcooked and dry. <br/><br/>The cocktails were completely filled with ice and contained about three mouthfuls of actual drink.<br/><br/>We purchased a scoopon so we only had to pay $89 for 4 people however even at that price I felt we got ripped of!<br/><br/>When it came time to leaving the staff were all over the place and kept palming us from one staff to another. There was no friendly goodbye and when we were walking out the door we had to walk through a could of smoke as the manager decided to have a smoke right at the front door.<br/><br/>Lets just say we will never be coming back hear again, not even at half price.

Pretty - ... deceiving.. Went with a group of 7 friends on a Thursday night having just purchased a Scoopon deal. First off I'd like to say that for the amount that I paid due to the Scoopon deal I was somewhat content. I'd looked at the menu online before going there and I was super excited as the menu was very enticing and interesting with much variety since it is influenced by flavours of the world. <br/><br/>Upon arriving, there was not really much of a front entrance where guests are greeted and seated and we had to ask two staff what we had to do or where to go if we had a reservation. Shortly we were seated and ordered our food. For the Scoopon deal we had $400 to spend for the table and it was very easy to do so with the variety the menu offered and the pricing of the dishes. We were able to order a starter, main and dessert each to make up the average $57 each we could spend for the deal. I would recommend the skewers as starters to share, they were tasty and the meat was cooked very well, however the lobster tacos I was excited for (since they were marked as a "signature dish") were disappointing as the portion size was much smaller than what I had anticipated for the price of $18 for only 3 miniature tacos that were much on the dry side ... <br/><br/>For mains, I ordered the slow poached pink salmon with hollandaise sauce and I can say it was cooked well and it was soft (though there were two bones left in my fillet). I feel like the hollandaise sauce was a bit too rich for the fish which was already rich in texture but it was good that there was a small leafy salad on the side dressed with lime juice to cut through the richness. My friends ordered the crispy pork belly with gnocchi and both of their portions of pork belly were not crispy at all! The skin of the pork was still soft and gelatinous and although the dish was tasty overall, it was a disappointment for one of my friends who requested for it to be taken back to the kitchen. Once the dish returned, the skin was still not crispy, however it was visible that the chef had just panfried it further and caramelised the meat without adding any extra texture.<br/><br/>Desserts were also very appetizing on the menu but when it came to flavours I felt like none of them meshed well together ... the pineapple ravioli was too acidic with the sorbet on top, it really needed something to contrast the acidity of the berries and pineapple. The chocolate fondant was delicious but I recommend eating it right when it hits the table otherwise you risk it being overcooked and not lava-like in the centre which is what happened to me. The chantilly cream was a nice addition on the side of the fondant however I don't think it complemented the dish as a whole, especially with the cherries on top of the cream which did not have a pleasant flavour. <br/><br/>Overall, the dishes look pretty both on the plate and on the menu in words but I feel like it didn't deliver in terms of flavour and technique in cooking. In saying that, our table was regularly tended to, the food wasn't too long of a wait and the restaurant itself has a nice vibe, good for groups. I probably won't be returning for some time.

Woeful - just woeful. ... any chance I could have that beer I ordered? We ordered specials thinking that would be quick and easy and I wanted a beer. What beer? What have you got? Incomprehensible response .... fine I'll have one of them!<br/><br/>Eight times we asked about the beer ... eight times someone went off to check on the thing.<br/><br/>Four times we asked about my wife's meal - it was very complicated ... a hamburger. Four times someone went off to check on it.<br/><br/>My lamb shanks on cous cous or something or other was clearly microwave re-heated and not properly. We never did get the burger! We never did get the beer. And when we went to leave the Gen Y manager wanted us to "hold on a minute". "Not likely we will - just take this $15, give me $5 change and never ever be seen again!"<br/><br/>0/10 Worst place I have ever been, plus some!

Went with a party of five before the football. Not even busy and we still waited 40 mins for burgers. To top it off they forgot my burger!! Poor form
