Delicious, authentic Cantonese food that feels modern and approachable. Plenty of classics as well as modern fare on the menu so there’s something for everyone. The service is absolutely superb and the chrysanthemum tea is such a treat.

Authentic Hong Kong/Macau Cantonese Cuisine - highly recommended!!!!! Finally a decent family restaurant in the area (sick of going to kingsford or Chinatown) HK style milk tea is a must try, they also offer "tea set" between 3-6 pm which is part of the Cantonese culture �will visit the So Asian Diner weekly from now! �
Just yummy . Can't really pick a favorite although the fried rolls were really fresh and the beef was just melt in the mouth yummy.
Our new favorite restaurant in Rosebery! We had dinner here on Friday night and loved everything we ordered. The General Tao Twice cooked chicken was mouth-watering. We can't wait to go back and try the Crispy Skin Pork!!

Sweet and sour chicken was amazing! The sauce, the juicy pineapple pieces, the chicken cooked just right... spot on!
Food was tasty and authentic . Service was excellent .Tried sweet and sour pork , honey chicken , and Yang Zhou fried rice. Will definitely be back for more !

Oh wow.. General Taos Chicken was SO good! Loved every bite.
Affordable and amazing! Very large serving portions. Sadly their eftpos machine was down so be sure to bring cash. Overall one of the best Asian restaurants I have been to around the area in terms of food quality. Very friendly staff.
So Asian - Quality Asian food with great service and good prices - perfect local Chinese for every suburb. Really enjoyed the spare ribs and 3 spice chicken
I don't understand why this place is only rated 3.3? I've been here at least 5-6 times and the food and service have always been exceptional. Definitely underrated. The food seems like genuine Asian food, so if you are expecting a cheap greasy western 'Chinese' meal don't come here. I had the Crispy Chicken Maryland Noodle Soup which was $13.80 - great value! This place will always be one of my regulars. They always play good music and there is great ambiance. Perfect to bring a friend or date for a good casual meal.

So Asian is located in Rothschild Ave and provides great Hong Kong Chinese cuisine at a reasonable price. What I like most is that you can also get a hot cup of coffee. What Chinese restaurants can offer that? None!
That keeps me coming back.

The Yangzhou Fried Rice is very tasty and teamed with the Sweet and Sour Pork, it is a winner!

So Asian surprised me straight away I walked in, so Asian staff member with fluent English greeting me with smile and professional hospo attitude! Service was superb! Place is not super big but has plenty of tables and feels actually spacey. I had Seafood Laksa which was well presented and tasty. And it had small prawns with no tail fin, YES, it's possible! I just forgot that cooling time for any laksa is like 4257 hrs which is not best option when you don't have much time. Thank you, till next time...
So glad we came here. We've been so desperate for a decent chinese restaurant and So Asian Diner has saved us. Super fresh, fast and delicious.

Portions are massive. Ingredients were fresh and high quality. Bold flavours. Excellent milk tea, not overly sweet with a complex, refreshing taste. Will return.
